The Pyramid - Tourist attraction in Warwick, Australia
The Pyramid in Warwick
Description
Privilege
great trail, no drinking water onsite, take lots of water!7yr old walk to the top is fine in good weather, no wind, when follow the white dots guide on the rock.make sure no water on the rock when climbing the top.
MoreA great walk with great views at the top. A bit steep so it requires some level of fitness. Make sure your shoes are grippy for the return trip. I wouldnt climb it in the wet.
MoreBeautiful views, fairly short hike, but can be a bit scary for new climbers towards the top of the pyramid, so newbies should go with climbers who are comfortable with a bit of scrambling.
MoreI’ve been up plenty of times (including once in light rain, DO NOT do thatand it never gets old
MoreLovely hike around Girraween and a lovely ascent to 360 degree views on top of the pyramid.
MoreMy poor calves 😭 sick view though
The view is amazing but requires a moderate level of fitness to climb, the easy part is climbing up, climbing down can be scary and hard. There are no ropes to support you just rocks.
MoreAmazing spot. Had so much fun here. 10 minute walk to the base from the campsite and not a hard climb to the top. You dont need hiking boots. We wore joggers but could have done barefoot. The climb is steep but still an easy walk up. Not a climb. Go early to avoid the crowds and get the best light. Probably a 45 min return trip. But we spent an hour up there just taking photos and having breakfast.
Morescary climb at the end up to the peak, I almost didnt do it but its not as bad as it looks once you get going! definitely worth getting to the top for the view!
MoreA most impressive landscape. The Granite boulders are stunning and walking between them and climbing up the Pyramid rewards you with fantastic views. Assess how you will descend before starting the walk up.
MoreWe went up the Pyramid & took us the longest time to go right to the top. Following the white-painted track will get you safely up to the top. What a beautiful view at the top. Need to take photos of the big rock.
MoreA rather large basalt peak. Take care following the markers up, this is not a theme park, no safety rails. The basalt would be very hard, if you had a fall.
MoreGreat walk, bit steep, can get busy.
The view from the summit is stunning as you can have 360-degree view. For the best view try to go before sunrise (We walked in dark & enjoyed the sunrise).Few sections are very slippery and not advisable with kids (We walked two time, one with kids to certain level & another next day without kids to reach summit). The walk is amazing as it involves various steps.Public amenities are available at the base with plenty of car parking spots.
MoreThe track from Bald Creek camp ground to the Pyramid is well form with plenty of step to help get you to the rock face. It passes near the Granite Arch with a slight detour. The rock face gets steep and can be slippery is sections. The view from the top is is fantastic
MoreMust climb the pyramids if you are in Girraween. Look out for cracks and fissures if you like a bit of exploring at the top. Please dont climb in wet weather. Ankle support highly recommended. Find some shade and enjoy the cool breeze.
MoreGreat view of the surrounding National Park, but extremely hard to climb up recommended for experienced climbers
MoreAmazing views at the 🔝 of The Pyramid. Good grippy hiking shoes highly recommended for the last bits. Coming down wasn’t as scary as we thought going up🤪
MoreOne of the Best Hikes ever..🥰🥰🥰
Really great walk. Very pretty and tidy. The walk was a little tough as we got higher, (for MeBut many others climbed successfully. We are in the lucky country for beauty, thats for sure!!!
MoreDefinitely very challenging and dangerous as well. We went on a sunny day with hiking boots on . The initial ascend was fine , just steep and you need to work hard. however half way through, the climb kind of get to the side of the mountain, and if we lose our footing, we can just fall off the cliff and say goodbye. So unfortunately for us, mission abandoned. It would be good if they can install some safety fence or railing.
MoreExtremely well maintained facilities and tracks, and an *insane* scramble to the top. The balancing boulder has to be seen to be believed. Worth the trip to Stanthorpe just for that!
MoreStunning views! Nice hike
A BEAUTIFUL part of SEQ with a magnificent view at the top. The trek up the Pyramid is very steep so allow a strong level of fitness, highly recommend taking water and snacks to enjoy at the top and checking out the little caves where the balancing boulders are.If you are afraid of heights I do not suggest doing this as it a sheer drop down in most sections, a safer way if in doubt to go up is on your bum and "crab-walking" up the very last section before the balancing boulders as this is the steepest part and often gets slightly slippery.Allow half a day if you want to explore all up along the Pyramid and all over the base (on and off the trackas well as the natural arch. If youre simply going up and down then just allow up to 1½ hours.
MoreOne of the best experience and outstanding views! Great great adventure:)
Spectacular views and a bit of steep rock to get there. Great NP and many walks for all fitness levels
MoreFairly easy walk to start and the granite arch is cool but when the hill climb starts you know it’s gonna be a slug. Once you hit the rock face it’s damn near vertical. Make sure you have gripped footwear, plenty of water and not scared of heights. Coming down is even more interesting and challenging.
MoreGreat place to visit. Tough walk to the top if you are a bit scared of heights. You have to be reasonably fit but not an athlete. Views from the top are amazing.
MoreGreat walk, only 4.5ks return. If scared of heights then the climb may be an issue but quiet easy if you take your time.
MoreFantastic view from the top, but the walk up and down is not for the faint hearted. Definitely a no-no if it is wet or looks like raining. A dry weather climb only. Take grippy shoes with good ankle support. Be careful if really windy. Did this walk with my daughter and we loved it, even though we both had jelly knees by the bottom of the descent. We started about 2hrs before sunset and had a head torch for the track back to the carpark once it got dark.
MoreWow !! What an experience, had the summit to ourselves, no words can describe it. Tough climb but not too hard, reasonable fitness will get you there. Go early before sunrise.
MoreSuch a great place to watch the sunset
Not an easy climb, but definitely worth it when you reach the summit: Spectacular! Make sure you have appropriate hiking shoes, and preferably leave your additional stuff and backpack in your car, as they may stop you from going up. If it is raining, the rock will be slippery and a bit stressful to climb. My recommendation is not to go up when the weather is wet. Hence, plan ahead and pick a dry day. There is a balanced rock on the summit which everyone takes photo with it :)
MoreNice place to visit, just bring your hiking shoes!
Great walk up to the top. Easier than it might look.
This National Park is a must see! I love the Granite Belt with its unique rock formations and rather cool climate compared with the QLD coast, where I live. Climbing the Pyramid is a most rewarding experience, however not without dangers. Good shoes with a good grip are essential and only dry weather and dry surface allow the climb, which is mostly a steep and careful walk. More difficult to get down than up, so take your time. Not for old people or unfit people! Take your camera, of course!
MoreBest done early to avoid heat and crowds. Kangaroos also more active.
Great walk but the scramble at the end is very steep and exposed. Not great for young children unless you and they have nerves of steel and no fear of heights. Well worth it otherwise.
MoreThe climb and descent were easier than they appear and the views from the top of Turtle Rock, the Sphinx, the second pyramid and Mount Norman are well worth the effort. I recommend packing a lunch to enjoy either at the peak or back at the day use area. There is plenty of exploring to do at the summit with caves, balancing rocks and a plethora of vegetation.
MoreGreat easy hike for those who dont mind steep climbs. Great view from the top.
Went for an afternoon walk, did not expect it to be this good. The hike was challenging but the veiw from the top was worth every breath. Amazing place to go for the day.
MoreVery nice hike with amazing views from the top. Not too difficult, but challenging. I saw even 3-4 years old kids doing it, also they were less scary than the parents.
MoreBreathtaking views, amazing climb. Very steep, be cautious. Need good grippy shoes
MoreGood place to do a bit rock climbing. Be careful with roos when driving tho.
Beautiful nature . Have climbed on steep rock. It was worth view after hard climbing. And surprisingly balancing rocks. Kangaroos roaming around your track. Nature has no end. I would like to visit again Girraween National Park for camping.
MoreAbsolutely incredible place to visit. This is a challenging climb but far from impossible. Wear good shoes with grip and ankle support.
MoreQuite a few steep stairs, then the granite face is quite a challenge to climb up and back down, but there are white markings once it comes to the climbing part to guide you up. 100% worth the climb if you are able to, but do not go on a wet day! There are wet parts towards the very top that could be lethal to slip on.
MoreHave climbed Terrawambella many times over the years, and it never disappoints. Dont be put off by the steep rock surfaces.
MoreA fantastic yet challenging climb. Well worth the effort!
Great walking trails. Good facilities at the day area. Beautiful walking day out. The pyramids are a bit strenuous but worth it if youre happy to do some steep rock faces and stairs.
