The Pub - Bar in Valletta, Malta
Great Food & Drink served by friendly staff
A very nice small pub, good beers and nice people.
Great service and lovely tapas with wonderful opportunity to people watch in the square.
Beers prices is ok no expensive. The place is comfortable, perfect to enjoy it with a friends and have a nice discussion
Haunting as the pub where Oliver Reed was drinking whilst taking a break from filming Gladiator which is a great epic. He collapsed here and shortly died after. You can feel this energy. Historical shrine !!
Good bar no complaints a bit expensive but thats to be expected in Valletta i recommend it.
Cool staff, good beer, great music! Venue Just perfect, a hole in the wall you go back to with pleasure
A fine pub, good selection of drinks. Has perhaps lost a little of its vibe with the refresh and refit.
Great ambient and staff. Lots of imported and local beer. Local beer Cisk is refreshing but dissapointing taste-wise.
An absolutely American style pub. Very nice and energetic service - very nice people. Delicious drinks and beer with wonderful thick foam
Such a good vibes and excellent people behind the bar. Cheers🍻
Fantastic atmosphere, friendly staff, good selection of beers and spirits. Played great blues music so much better than the untaleted singers/musicians? dominating the rest of Valletta which was enough to make your ears bleed at times.
Small pub in Valetta, links to Oliver Reed (go check out the historynice atmosphere, and drinks selection.
Great little pub which is famous as the last drinking place of Oliver Reed in the centre of Valletta.A wide variety of drinks available especially gins & their own cocktails. Its very popular with photos & info on the walls & mainly wooden seats.Doesnt serve food though.
Worth a visit for a quick drink
Served the Cisk in the incorrect straight glass which makes it flat from the start so should be one star but have tributes to Olly on wall so only one star deducted.
Been going to the pub for years. Love it.
Great pint of Guinness where the legend Oliver Reid had his last Drink!!!
Great little bar in the centre of old Valetta. Great staff, good beer and Aircon. What more do you need. Obviously this little bar is famous as the drinking establishment where Oliver Reed passed away whilst filming Gladiator. Pictures galore. Def worth a visit to raise a glass to the legend. Just dont try and out drink his last binge session. Recommended.
Beer wasn’t great - flat, and not a huge range of options. Metal music playing and not a particularly inviting place - it’s a typical men’s boozer. Generally the pub just seems to be a shrine to Oliver Reed, an actor who was in The Gladiator, and clinging to the small bout of fame of him dying at ‘The Pub’ and leaving an unpaid tab of several beers, 12 double rums and 14 whiskeys (there is even a t-shirt you can buy to ‘celebrate’ his final order).
Lovely small pub with excellent choices of drinks.Loads of Oliver Reed memorabilia as died there
Great beer selection. Rock music for the ❤️ and the bartender that rocks, too!
Delicious beer. They have Kilkenny, Guinness, Strongbow, Cisk. 4-5 € per pint.
Great atmosphere and right prices, the owner and stuff are amazing!
The pub is where Oliver Reed passed away after a day on the booze. a must place to visit. Valletta Malta. R.I.P. great actor.
Awesome pub. Good selection of drinks and at great prices. Loved the vibe.
Best Pub in Malta, with the best Guinness on tap
Best Guinness Ive had in malta, poured properly with a good head. Almost as good as in Ireland. Highly recommend
Its my local council bar the best drinks for a fair price and the stuff its for real the coolest stuff in Malta
poignant place to visit in ValettaGood selection of beers and Ciders including Guinness.
Great pub, cheap drinks lively atmosphere a place to visit
Great British pub and an interesting true story about Oliver Reed the actor, but youll have to go and hear for yourself.
Good selection of beers. Huge selection of spirits.Staff are really friendly and well informed about the history of the pub.Oliver Reeds demise in the bar is sadly/interestingly a talking point.
Changed quite a bit over the years since Oliver Reed drank (and diedhere. The Pub rather dines out on Reeds notoriety these days and the staff wear t-shirts emblazoned with his huge, and ultimately calamitous, last days bar tally. The decor is a bit cheap and the huge array of Royal Navy emblems over the bar forewarn you of the clientele when an HMS is in dock. Having said all that, the staff are very nice, the selection of beers (especially on tapis very impressive and the prices arent a rip off. The music is ok (a bit on the heavy side when we were thereand the seats are numerous (if not very comfortable). If youre looking for a British pub abroad (not sure why you would bother going abroad if this is the casethis is the best youre going to get in Malta. Otherwise, go to Vinos Cafe Bar instead.
Ollie Reeds final drink here in Valletta. God rest his soul.
Nice staff, great little pub to visit in Valletta, obviously steeped in the historic loss of the actor Oliver Reid ........he died there aftet going on a mammoth bender whilst shooting the film Gladiator. The Tee shirt is a must😉❤
Probably the only dive bar ish experience in Malta. Great atmosphere, good company and very friendly staff.
Lovely little pub with a great atmosphere...well worth calling in for a pint or 3,and of course the rum😁
Was drawn in by QotSA and The White Stripes playing from the tannoy outside!Crackin wee surprise pub in the middle of Valletta, really good selection of whiskies on hand, and a decent pint of Guinness to boot! Fairly priced too.Bar staff were super friendly and welcoming. Place was very popular - no wonder!
Really friendly staff and a lot of memorabilia on the walls of both Naval ships and Oliver Reed. Good selection of draft beers and seating inside and out
Typical old style proper pub, great atmosphere and the staff were good fun and I good spirits! Full of Oliver Reed memorabilia and a must visit if youre a fan of the great actor.
A now iconic venue of course but kept genuine and service led watering hole. Great setting and great tunes so my "calling in for one" turned into a few! :)
Cozy place with good athmosphere. The staff is friendly and helpful. There are many types of gin, the service is really great. We spent a half day here :))
Great place to pay respects to Oliver Reed where he died whilst filming Gladiator in Malta.Had a pint or three in his honour!Memorabilia adorns the walls of the place and is a fab place to soak in.Toilets are a bit random and not the nicest I’ve ever seen - be warned! I feel sorry for those upstairs with a toilet so close to them!
Wonderful British oasis in the middle of Valletta. Such fun! We went there every night we were there. Must say, though, although many people have signed their names on the walls upstairs, it might be time to make it s bit more user friendly for people who want to sit and drink. The main bar is great.
Full of Royal Naval (RNand British history from the time when Malta had a British naval base. The place where Oliver Reed drank during the filming of the Gladiator. He suffered a heart attack during an arm wrestling and drinking competition and later died. Found just off the Main Street up the side of the government buildings. Good cold beers. Seating outside. Go upstairs To see the amazing graffiti.
Tiny lil hole in the wall with massive attitude. Bar staff are friendly approachable and fun. Be prepared to stand downstairs but there are seats upstairs.Oliver Reeds (RIPlast drink was had here, his order is on the tshirt and his final resting place was beside the cigarette machine.
A great little gem of a pub, this is where the actor Oliver Reed spent his last drinking session. What he drank: 8 pints of lager, 12 double rums & 14 whiskeys (please dont try this at home folks).
Always wanted to visit The Pub after hearing lots about it. Its a tiny little boozer, however the staff are really friendly and have lots of interesting stories. Its also famous because Oliver Reed died their while filming Oscar winning movie Gladiator. I was told by the barman that pub used to be a chemist and the owner purchased it and turned it into a naval boozer that it is now. When you go inside you can see lots of photos of naval vessels. Plus upstairs you can sign your name on the wall so remember to bring a felt tip marker.
Great English pub, serving draft ales, local beers, wines a d spirits. Tv showing love sport. Good atmosphere.
