Nice n quiet pub with friendly personnel and guests, beer garden is small, but good as wellOwners bid was to create a pub for nice people only, well done, it is best pub for relax in West Midlands, having a big function room for private actions away of pub (upstairsis also great.Added more tables outside, contactless paymentsNew owner kept all that was good and made it even better as him loves real ales too.We are having AJs more frequently now.Still best in WalsallNothing to add

Ive been coming here as long as I can remember with my Dad... from the days as the Tap & Spile and the sizzling cheap steaks through to it becoming a Black Country Ales pub. Proper pub. Back street location, full of character and characters. An institution.
Been here a few times staff and customers always welcoming ,good selection of ales and a lovely atmosphere,a proper little gem 👍
This is a great unspoilt traditional pub. Great atmosphere friendly landlord with plenty of real ales and ciders. Definitely worth a visit.
Brilliant place for a good old pint of beer . Warm welcoming and friendly chat . Small beer garden and function room
A old fashioned pub nothing has been changed to the structure of this little gem in Walsall a real find, 6 beers on tap
Great little boozer , a black Country ales pub so they offer a range of quality ales and all served with a smile , nice and friendly atmosphere and also dog friendly

Not been in for a long time. A lovely pub in every old fashioned sense of the word. Friendly greeting from behind the bar. Spotlessly clean and for a non craft beer drinkers, a cracking premium strength lager. For those seeking beer with bits of beak and fieldmouse in, youre in for a treat. Top, top pub.

First time visiting. Wonderful little pub with a lot of charm and excellent staff. Defo will visit again!
This is probably my favourite Black Country Ales pub. It is a really charming local where there is always a friendly welcome and good real ales available.
Great welcome, really friendly landlord and pub. Great range of real ales and ciders. Would highly recommend a visit.
An amazing living example of an original workmans Ale House.Upon turning off the busy main Street, you know you found the place, the old glossed tiles catching your eye, the colourful hanging baskets providing life in this otherwise grey industrial Street. Then you enter.. the sounds of industry disappear as you marvel at the unchanged original wooden decor that carries on through lounge and bar. Finally you reach the bar. Youre attention is then directed to a board of ales directed to suit every taste (apparently the ciders good too)... ....Then you go back next week.
Great little traditional pub, lovely decor, good selection of real ales and ciders , well worth a visit
Backstreet pub with great character and up to 10 cask ales on at any time (9 on last weds afternoon). Outstanding, all power to the owners, Black Country Ales, and the landlord whos name I didnt catch!
A real pub brought back some happy memories for my partner
Lovely little traditional pub with real ale.William Morris wallpaper, real fire and cosy seating. A lovely atmosphere and friendly staff.
Quirky local type ale drinkers pub with a good selection of beers.Let down by the rude bar staff. Told her the Carling tasted awful. She replied "yeah" and walked off. Must have been offended at my choice of beverage!
This local hostelry is just to the North of Walsall town centre in a clearly industrial rather than residential area so this could be a bit off putting. However not visiting here for that reason would be a mistake. Although unassuming from the outside, inside it is a cracking and classic example of a great British pub. An excellent choice of beers that are skilfully looked after by the landlord are available. No hidden price surprises when it comes to pay as all the available and ready to drink beers will be written on the blackboard with an explanation and a price per pint. Of course other alcohol based and soft drinks are available. A warm fire and a warm welcome await all who enter. Wood panelling adds to the atmosphere. Bar stools and bench seats with large tables mean you can drink in silence on your own with a selection of free books to peruse or you can join in the inevitable conversation with the friendly locals. You could spend an entire evening here just working your way through what drinks the pub has to offer and leave very happy. A minute’s walk from public transport means you do not need your car although there is ample on street parking.
Good spread of real ale and ciders with no background noise. Very friendly staff and atmosphere here. Well worth a visit or three
Looks good from the outside and you will not disappointed when you go in. Bar space is Ia bit limited but side room and back rooms available for sitting etc. Great selection of draught beers at reasonII&able prices. Staff friendly despite an influx of 40 odd people, clamouring to be served.
Lovely old pub in back street great range of beers landlord very friendly
I consider this my local after moving to Walsall a year ago a nice friendly crowd drink here, Mark and Lucy landlord and landlady are just perfect. Keep stocking the cider
Best pub ever no juke boxes just very friendly staff and clients will be going back soon. Lucy and mark are great landlords and make every one welcome. Keep up the great work
Great location for real ale and quiet conversation. The ale is very well kept and all the staff very friendly. A nice roaring fire welcomes u on arrival in the bar. Please note this is a non swearing pub which suits the regulars.
Ok if you are local, good beer but not particularly welcoming. Im not sure I would go back despite the beer, just has a strange atmosphere that isnt really comfortable. Landlady in particular seems to have an issue with people enjoying themselves which is slightly unfathomable, almost as if they dont want customers that laugh out loud or have a reasonably elevated voice. I wont be going back.
Love this place. Traditional pub with great selection of real ales and ciders . Local pork pies and filled cobs available behind the bar. Very friendly atmosphere.
Nice quite local pub. Serves ales and micro brewrey beer. Staff are good and the beers are reasonably priced. The place has character and homely feel.
They do Sunday lunches but you have to ring by Friday lunch to book because they cook to how many and its one choice each week rotating beef lamb or pork but for £6 a head its absolutely excellent, well cooked hot and plenty
