Great evening celebrating my birthday. Nice food, good beers and we were very well looked after. Highly recommend a visit.
MoreI give them five stars for: fantastic service, good wine, and dog friendliness
The pub has a nice decor and friendly staff. All the essentials you need from draught beers to cocktails. Food was very good and they started a fire too.
MoreGreat local place with friendly staff and a good selection of drinks, thoroughly recommended
MoreOur favourite local , the food is always delicious with vegan options too, dog friendly and they have a good mix of beer to suit everyone , plenty of choice of wine and cocktails, if thats not enough the staff are super friendly too
MoreBurgers to die for. Amazing Sunday roast. Lovely cask and keg beer. Brilliant music.

MoreGreat little pub worth getting google maps out to find. Great choice of beers, friendly staff and the best pub burger Ive found since being here
MoreWe visited on May Bank Holiday for a Sunday roast to celebrate my daughters 22nd birthday. Due to restrictions we were seated in a cosy outdoor seating area. My young niece was a little cold and was offered a blanket which was a lovely touch, they even made her a hot chocolate at her request which I do not believe was on the menu. Between our group we had one of each roasts on offer plus sides, all of which was perfectly cooked and delicious. Service was excellent and price was excellent value for money. We will definitely be visiting again and will highly recommend.
MoreWent for a Sunday roast. Food was excellent, service was a joke, forgot to include items (takeaway, as the seating situation is a jokeand were very nonchalant about the whole thing. For a Sunday lunch service, they were defo caught with their pants down.
MoreExceptional roast dinner! Really good value for money compared to nearby pubs too.
MoreIf I see breaded chicken on a menu I normally have something else, but the panko crumbed chicken burger was delicious, really crunchy on the outside and tender in. Hubby had beef burger, again beautifully cooked. We also ordered the chicken Katsu scotch egg, which as we’d ordered to take away we decided to have the next day for a treat lunch. Every single element of this was really tasty, and generous, proving that scotch egg from the Prestonville is indeed a substantial meal.
MoreGreat little local, warm, clean, with fantastic food and friendly welcoming managers. Loaded chips and burgers have been excellent 🤗 The katsu scotch egg was delicious, the whitebait were perfectly cooked and tasted fresh. Plus the Big Hug Juicy Pale beer is good too!
MoreWonderful pub. Fantastic food. And the landlord and lady are a right dishy pair!If youve never been, get yourself there!
MorePopped in here whilst working in Brighton, as they didnt require pre booked tables. Friendly staff coupled with great food ( I had the fish and chipsmade for a pleasant stop at this lovely little pub. Recommended!!
MoreWandered in for a roast on Sunday. It was incredible, easily the best roast in Brighton. The care and attention put into every part of it was so impressive, the homemade yorkshires were stunning but the gravy stole the show, i could have bathed in it. Service was so friendly and you felt at ease straight away, theyve got a great draught selection and I was made up to see Easy Peeler on tap. Nice and airy outside terrace area was perfect in the weekend weather and already looking forward to coming back. Thanks Will & Caroline
MoreWe had an incredible day spent in the pub. The staff were really friendly and allowed us to have a safe yet fun experience with the current safety procedures in place for COVID 19.
MoreGreat pub, recently changed hands and the new landlords have made the place a real gem. Great food, great selection of beers, great times. What more could you want.

MoreLovely. This has changed hands since I moved in on the same road a year ago. Thankfully now its a delight. Popped in for the spooky vegan roast recently and it was the best roast Ive had since I moved here.Cosy, charming, fun local pub with cute dog action and people just having a nice time.
MoreFantastic food by mr monkey, great friendly staff, with atmosphere to boot. You wont find another Sunday dinner as good as this in Brighton.

MoreGreat local pub. Super friendly staff and local crowd. Great selection of beers. Plays great music. Lots of very comfy chairs. Lively night at the weekend.
MoreLovely bar staff. Great music and a selection of beer. Theres a arcade table too, I didnt use it but you can never go wrong. 10/10 would go again.
MoreLovely local pub full of character and they make a mean fish and chips. Dog friendly with a nice back garden. Out of the way and quiet, like a good local pub should be
MoreFantastic fish and chips. Better than Bardsley’s used to be and that’s saying something. No contest. This is now the go to fish n chip shop for the Dials / Preston Circus area.
MoreWow, THE BEST ROAST DINNER I’ve ever had!! Took mum out last Sunday for mother’s day. Sooooo tasty, I wanted to order another plate. Will be going weekly now that we’ve discovered this absolute GEM !!!!!
MoreA little gem hidden from the main streets, its charming, very cosy and homely with lots of character provided by artwork, antiques and even a table computer game. Friendly staff, good beers and damn tasty haloumi and chips have made this our new local.
MoreNice pub with two friendly landlords. We have been going for vinyl Sunday and theyve been kind enough to entertain our terrible music taste ! Wine is good selection and reasonable and now that its getting colder Im sure itll be our haven as it has a lovely big fire there. Havent had a pizza yet but they look fabulous and my partner says the beer is nice. It also has a little hidden beer garden which is beautiful.
MoreGreat neighbourhood pub. Top food. Great bar selection. Dan and the staff always give a warm welcome.
MoreGreat pub, fantastic selection of ales and really good food, with everything being gluten free, although you wouldnt know it. Had the jerk ribs and they were the best Ive ever had. Dawn had the lamb pie and again, up there with the best, whether gluten free or not. Definitely worth a walk back over the hill if in Brighton.
MoreBest pub in the history of the universe. Amazing staff and lovely chef who gave us free treats on Valentines Day and again a week later. Also love that loads of people bring their tiny dogs here
MoreIf only more local pubs were as good as the Prestonville - at doing what a good local pub should do. If you ignore the award winning and regularly outstanding eats their GF kitchen turns up (its always a treat and a delight to go eat there and their food is so very well priced for the qualityThe landlord Dan and his team make every one welcome and always ensures that youre looked after. Happy to help and often go out of their way to be fine publicans and hosts. A fine hostelry - and Im jolly glad its a short walk home after a couple of decent pints an a plate of something noteworthy on my palette.
MoreIts our local. Gluten Free food by default and a menu that makes you feel normal?! Mate thats not easy to come by. Great staff, good ales on tap, great food - what more do you want?
MoreGood at what they do.
Had a Sunday roast, 1 venison and 1 beef and a cheeseboard, it was excellent, cooked perfectly, the best Ive had for a while. Also a great selection of ales and super friendly staff and landlord. Will be back soon!
MoreFood is a bit hit and miss. Started out great but not so good tonight. £9 for a sausage and some student style potato salad
MoreGreat Local Pub Serving Excellent Food. Had a lovely evening, great staff, lovely food, had the Christmas menu which was delicious (Venison & three bird roast), also good malbec wine. Welcoming pub with fire, lovely pub dog (Harvey), busy evening which added to the atmosphere. Good menu catering for Veg/vegan options, gluten free options and meat eaters such as us! Will return very soon, thank you !
MoreGreat refurb- cosy and comfortable! Good pint of Guinness! ** And my gosh the chef is so good - we just had bites and dessert- but oh so delish! This chef is oh-so modest! Will be back for more!
MoreA favourite local backstreet pub in Brighton. Well kept beer, good food and friendly landlord. Well attended beer festivals and community spirited. Tough Sunday night quiz for any braniacs
MoreIf you like an unpretentious, proper pub,you cannot beat the Prestonville. A five minute walk from seven dials, this place is a gem. Great beers, always kept to the highest standard. Good, wholesome food better than the majority of e restaurants in Brighton and Hove and a great deal better value too. This is a pub that always gives you a warm welcome and its success is down to word of mouth rather than gimmicks, which, for me,speaks volumes. Great pub. Great food.Great staff. Great atmosphere.
MoreIndependent pub with a real and informal atmosphere. Went for tapas... Food was amazingly good and nice to be in an authentic pub with people being themselves and everyone doing their own thing; eg someone quietly reading at the bar, groups of friends chatting or a family sharing a meal. Will definitely be going back!
MoreDog knows way to pubThe food is great and reasonably priced. I highly recommend the themed Tapas nights on Wednesday and Thursdays last week of the month. Family and dog friendly.Landlord always welcoming and look out for beer festival nights.
MoreLovely decor, floorboards, old framed pictures, posters, adverts etc.... Landlord seems quite friendly and the food is pretty tasty too. Shame its owned by Fullers though as the beers are quite boring and very rarely change. Shame about the current choice of bar staff too. A smile costs nothing. Might try the Shakespeares next time.
