Dark wood Victorian pub with chandelier, etched mirrors behind the bar and an upstairs dining room.
Great place to eat with an amazing service of our waitress Dali.
What a joke place. Went in and rude bar guys didn’t even acknowledge our group. Went to go to restaurant portion and was not open. Asked jerk bar guy and was directed to food menus. After no help went to bar and revealed.”Hey we don’t serve food. “ Dirty tables and bar counter .Beers $8 plus pounds I noticedCouldn’t get out fast enough. Have to be pretty drunk PRIOR to going hereNegative stars would be appropriate
Best pub ever, Dean makes us feel just at home
The team and managers are so professional and welcoming, I will be back - big up to Dean, you are really a star!
Amazing calamari, awesome early 2000s music, great vibe!
Couldnt be happier with the service provided by the pub, after a fun Saturday night I lost my phone and they kept it for me to collect, such friendly & helpful staff!
Nice little pub located near Leicester Square and Covent Garden. Not a large amount of seating but can still get a pint or cocktail and relax. The upstairs is for dining only, cant just sit and have a drink which is a shame when its busy.Toilets are pretty clean.Overall decent pub for the area and not overpriced.Follow me on Google Maps for more reviews
Lovey pub, steeped in history. Staff are fabulous, drink not too expensive either. Seves food and it looks delicious although we didnt try it.
Cosy central pub with nice people. Loved to be back after years.
Lovely atmosphere and Averson Sebastian was especially great. Tasty food and quick service! X
Very nice place. Loved the food, the fish and chips are freshly made and authentic and Sebastian the tattood waiter is extremely kind.
Love going to this pub especially before England games. Always great service and some great Ales.
No one seem to care about this place, it used to be our go to pub a while ago but not anymore, staff are always on their phone, toilets are dirty and the back bar seem like it’s ready for halloween and still got Xmas lights from last year.
I actually liked this place... Very cosey , friendly , people and stuff... Or maybe I was drunk lol
Very nice steak and ale pie. Staff not very friendly though
Traditional pub , visited during daytime resturant upstairs was closed , did not see anyone eating in the bar so cant comment on the food , drinks were OK served by pleasant staff
Cute pub with lovely interior and friendly staff. Great beer options and fair prices. Very centrally located too.
Great opening hours, better than most pubs in the area.
10/10 experience, workers were polite and really upped the experience, especially the workers Nicholas and Morgan, drinks were poured properly and the price was good compared to other pubs around the local area.
Great pub, great character, sat outside and people watched the true hussle and bustle of London. Always visit! Bar staff always helpful
Quality experience, each worker i interacted with was polite, had a nice conversation with one of the workers named Nicholas whilst waiting for my drink, highly recommend if you want a great time
I was here a lot time a go, the pub not change.....amazing .Very good beer
The long hair bar man was super rude, he screamed at customers including me and the man infront of me. I was asking for a cider and he screamed at me for no reason. I will not be returning, what an absolute horrible experience . This happened at around 20:00 pm - 20:05 pm 22/07/2022 ( If they want to investigate this further on CCTV, I was wearing a brown bag, curly hair, with glasses)
when we came in no draught beer was served and only bottles were sold. 3 bottles of 0,33€ costed nearly 15 pounds. unbelievable…London - toilets were awful and guests were ask not to dine in the dining room and change seats with others. Guys, change your business!
Great little pub in a great location with friendly staff
So this place has become iconic in my circle of friends and colleagues. Everyone I know who visits London gets a photo with a pint and sends it to me. The food is great, as is the staff. Gets busy during the after work hours, but who can blame them all...what a great place to gather and share a laugh over a pint or three. Well be back soon.
Great pub, love those pies good beer and friendly staff.
Good ol British pub located around Leicester Square. Good ambiance, great location, nice music and beer ....
Popular branch of the Nicholsons pub chain, ideally situated for drinks or dinner before the theatre, or while shopping in the West End. I enjoyed steak and chips with apple pie and ice cream to follow, but the usual range of pub favourites are available at reasonable prices.
Nice place to have a pint or two, crowded but the place it is not really big. The waiter was kind and efficient.
Lovely little traditional. Pub in the West end of London. Great place to stop for refreshments and get away from the hustle and bustle of central London.
Good food, good drinks, very friendly staff. A big loud, but its a pub after all :)
Limited draught beer choices and a bit pricey (£6.65 for a pint of Peronibut considering the area (and the fact that its a Nicholsonsnot out of keeping. Staff were 2 young guys that were unbelievably polite and quick to serve. A small pub which also adds to the limited beer choices.
Stopped of for a quick pint here Sunday 10th April 2022 with my wife before a meal in a restaurant not far from this pub .Recommend this pub and close to soho and theatres 😎 .
Lovely place! The bartenders were lovely, we had two paints of Guinness and two shots of tequila. The only problem was that the place was closing at 10pm. Nice and cosy pub. Worth going in.
I’ve never seen such rude behavior from a bartender. I can’t believe the good reviews… I tried to sit down upstairs but the bartender starts raising her voice, rolling her eyes, etc. because I guess the kitchen was closed randomly at 4:20 pm on a Saturday. I was confused and didn’t really understand why she was so angry. how was I supposed to know that? Just tell me the kitchen is closed. Done. No shouting, eye rolls, waving her hands was necessary. I saw people were just drinking not eating so tried to order a drink and oh no, that set her off. I have no idea what she was saying because I was so put off my her performance! I guess I was not allowed to sit up there. Look I get if this is a local spot or something but it’s in a touristy location so maybe just directly tell me I can’t sit here. She and her coworker decided to give me dirty looks as I walked out… all I wanted was to order something! Seriously I still don’t know what warranted such an extreme, rude response.
Burgers are good,Pies looked great but not a lot available unfortunately.
Love this pub. My friend and I go here if we visit the Art centre just up the road. Upstairs wasnt open this time, I think they were advertising for staff and the food was not as good as usual. Even so bar staff were as usual friendly and attentive. I think Brexit and Covid has decimated the pool of hospitality staff or the Management are paring down their staff. Still love this little pub.
Really great example of an old London pub. Loads of originality, it doesnt take much imagination to think if seeing Bill Sykes and Bullseye lurking in the corner. Not bad beer either. 😁 Didnt try the food but the menu looked good.
Lovely little old pub, lots of character and charm to it
Despite being a busy Saturday night we were served quickly and politely by the efficient and friendly bar staff. We havent been there for many years but it hasnt changed; the busy and vibrant atmosphere was the same as ever. If you want a bustling London pub this is for you.
Fantastic experience! We were welcomed wonderfully and the food was really great, central location and average London prices. The waiter was very kind and super helpful, we will definitely be back!Greetings from Elisa and Ruslan from Italy
Another great visit. Always friendly. Always great beers.
Great location on a busy corner of London, Praha lager was great taste, nice ambience and good service at the bar one Thursday afternoon in September. The bar menu was available but the restaurant upstairs was closed in spite of the large display saying the Dining Room was upstairs!!
Lovely small victoriana pub on Charing Cross Rd next to Leicester Square tube. Good beers normally but limited due to supply. Good pub grub with Gammon, large selection of pies and great toad in the hole. Nice to watch the world go by. Upstairs dining room as well. Very helpful staff. Good afternoon.
Old english style pub, close to Trafalgar square in the very middle of the center of London. Very populare , so better bring some time when you wish to eat. A very nice and friendly lady at the bar, pointed us in the right direction regarding Coventry garden, Soho etc. My favorite beer...Camden Mild.
I have really appreciated this typical pub and its awarded pie. It is an English experience that I suggest once you visit London. Ive been there at lunch time: next time I will try beers!
Good selection of beer and drinks. This is part of the Nicholsons chain of restaurants. Food was average, not bad but not excellent either. We ate in the dining room upstairs and they had only one employee doing everything. While he was doing a good job, there were too many customers for him to provide outstanding service.
We had some really nice service and the fish and chips were great. Thumbs up
Great location right in the middle of all the action. Fast and friendly service and a nice selection of beers to enjoy in the classic pub interior that has kept its integrity .
