Chic rustic pub with board games and a courtyard garden lined with old tin advertisements.
Really nice, food and drink were great (especially the teriyaki mushrooms)
The man behind the bar is the absolute best. Very relaxed place.
We booked a table through their official website specifying for dinner at 9pm, when we arrived they told us that they were sorry but the kitchen was closed that we shouldnt be able to book for that time… insane… something went really wrong here!
Great find! There is a lot of seating so we were able to find a spot on a Saturday night for dinner. The food was great and service was quick. All around great place!
It was an overall good experience; the staff were friendly and the food was tasty. I would happily go back.
I had a wonderful time at this lovely pub. The service was so welcoming and the food was delicious. We were only supposed to be staying for a glass of wine and a chat as I hadn’t seen my friend in a long time, but ended up staying the whole afternoon with a bottle of wine and a lovely lunch. Will definitely be returning! Thank you
Plastic cups, eeewww
Good food and beer. Quiet when we were there.
Excellent burgers and very friendly staff
Nice Pub,Good Staff,and Chilled Vibes,Im Coming Back.
Great pub. Highly recommend.
Nice pub, big space with a good atmosphere
Stopped by for an afternoon pint and a light bite. Friendly, helpful and chatty bartender. Comfortable seating with light music playing.
Overpriced food and rude staff. After one hour of waiting for a chicken burger (£16), the chef got very angry when I asked how long do I still have to wait for the food. He said: Go away, I dont care about your food, leave if you dont like it! One star is definitely top rating for this place!
Nice place, good food, very friendly server
We came in and our drinks took ages to come and when we ordered our food the waitress couldn’t figure anything out on the computer and it took an hour for water. Finally when the appetizer came somebody came and told us we couldn’t do any sunday roast which is what everyone ordered so we ordered different food instead. After another hour we finally got told that the chef was walking out so we didn’t get any food and wasted 2 hours
I was happy to find a place where you have drink and a nice chat with your friends without shouting 😀.
We visited the Porcester with a large party of 9. We have struggled to get meals in London as every restaurant is short staffed, closing their kitchen early, or closed for private events. We booked a party of 5 and 4 for same day and hoped for the best. The Porcester saw our reservation and called over another staff member from another eatery to help. With just three employees - one cooking, one serving and one tending bar...we had a wonderful meal and evening. Sean, Ahmed and Liz were a delight. If we make it back to London we will definitely visit again. A couple of us prefer vegetarian and the mushroom "wings" appetizer was AMAZING. I sent an order over to our teen table and they said it was the best thing theyd eaten all day! The vegetable wellington was also a delight. Highly recommend!!!
DO NOT TRUST.Ordered a plant based burger and received one which included cheese, egg, butter and mayo. They dont know what theyre doing, so god help you if you suffer any allergies. Next to no effort was made to rectify a mistake.
We had a wonderful dinner and beers at the Porchester pub. Gabriel and Max were the best!!!
Very disappointed! We had been here before and both the service and food were excellent but this last time the burger was burnt and awful. I dont know how a chef would have the courage to serve that!
Used to be great but it’s rubbish now. Loads of stuff out of stock. No excuse now, stop moaning about Covid spoiling trade. We came for food but left after one poor pint and no stock. I won’t be coming back.
We had a lovely time in the pub and really enjoyed the lager and pale ale. First time in a pub since covid and it clearly felt like coming home. Even though, there was no yakima red anymore.🤣
Popped in for a drink whilst waiting to go to nearby restaurant. The service from bar guy was great, he suggested a different tonic with the gin, and was superb. What a great pub, and the bar man is a star!
I have visited this pub a few times with my girls and love it! It’s a cool place to unwind and catch up over a few glasses of wine. Plus they have a guy there named Angel who looks like Johnny Depp who is very cool! He always has the best stories to tell and makes our night even better! Thanks Angel! :-)
One of my favourite local places to visit! Good vibes, good food & drinks, and great service!… I always like it when Angel is working as he is on top of everything for me and my friends to ensure we have the best experience… and he is always a great conversation!… Keep up the good work people!
I just had the best experience here, mainly due to the FANTASTIC service by Angel. I cant stress this enough, he has been accommodating, entrataining, funny but not intrusive. Will definitely be back soon.
Food is not bad, and theres a passable selection of beers on tap (though dont expect anything out of the ordinary). Lots of tables and a small beer garden out the back, plus a weekly pub quiz.
Beautiful pub, one of my all time favourites. This place holds a special place in our heart, its where I met my wife of 21 years, back in 2000. It was called The Royal Oak then. Its changed, but definitely for the better. We will be back with our 2 boys very soon. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality, Angel is a fantastic host.
Went for Sunday roast totally disgusting was something from iceland with raw meat on top ! Was told I couldnt have my meat well done even though I was pregnant! Only staff member who is polite and consistently pleasant is the jack sparrow look alike.top class lad.
What makes this pub different from all the other ones in the area is the food. Fresh ingrediants and a passionate Chef!!!! From the hummus to the Sunday roast (excellentall dishes are good!!!! Service is very friendly, there is a garden in the back, nice in the summer and they also have plenty of board games if thats your thing!!!!!Bon appetite!!!!
Amazing service! Attentive and interesting staff (you will understand visiting this place).I had only few starters and simple drinks, but black pudding scotch eggs - oh my god! - Amazing!Second thing, they have nice garden, so its great option for smokers.Recommended. Need to visit. Best in this area for me!
Omg, their chunky chips are soooooo good!!! Plus waitstaff are super nice. Definitely plan on coming back soon. Also a good sign: everyone else sitting around me seemed to be regulars. The waitstaff seemed to know their names and orders as soon as they walked in.
The best chilled pub I could find on Westbourne Grove. Quick service and plenty of seats for a Friday night. Expensive prices but pretty much average for this part of London
Always lovely members of staff, trying to train newer people with patience in a busy environment. Drinks are nice, food is generous, toilets are clean, staff could sometimes pay a tiny bit more attention. For drinks after work definitely the right place to be.
I enjoyed the friendly and spacious atmosphere here. There was a lot of light and the barman called Ben was friendly and helpful. The drink I had was very nicely presented and the customers were friendly. They give generous shots of spirits which is another tick up for me. It is situated in a lively area and I would be happy to go back there.Friendly staff really help in my rating of a place, and the staff were very good here.
3.5Nice atmosphere and no loud music which was nice. Prices, especially for the area, are very good. Great service. Lose huge points for having no vegan mains (it’s 2020 in London afterall), but there was a soup and a vegan brownie. Saying that, after asking, they did manage to put a main together for me which was fine. Pop a permanent vegan main on and it’d be 4.5 because my friends’ meals looked amazing.
Was reminded of our trip to London tonight, and while reminiscing I thought of The Porchester Pub. We stayed in Paddington in December and January 2017 on a trip, and we didnt only visit The Porchester once. We visited on our first night, jet-lagged from the flight over from New Jersey and while looking up local places, we came across The Porchester. It wasnt too long of a walk so we figured wed check it out. The waitstaff was lovely, the drinks were great, and the food was amazing! The chips were the perfect amount of crispy, the wings were delicious, and so was the steak. We visited again on one of our last nights in London, and I would do anything to go back! Definitely recommend if youre in the area. We never felt out of place as "tourists," and its in a great location. Hoping to get back one day soon. :)
I went here on an evening with some friends and actually had a decent time. The beer garden in the back is cosy and intimate with warmers outside. The seating area is spacious to allow parties to sit and enjoy a drink without feeling crowded. The food is great as well. Unfortunately I cant give it 5 stars as the toilet seat is not connected properly witch led to an unexpected circumstance when I tried to sit down, especially after youve had a few drinks..
Great local with a brilliant Sunday roast. Staff are also very friendly which seems to be a rarity these days. Will definitely come back! The only reason for not giving it 5 stars is because it has a slight cafeteria feel rather than a pub.
It may look like your average neighborhood pub but The Porchester is anything but!I ordered the roasted salmon trout with gremolata, roasted sweet potato and rocket salad and it was very delicious! The salmon was very juicy, and the gremolata creates the extra touch to greatly enhance the flavor of the fish, the roasted sweet potato and the salad offer a fresh side to this great dish, the combination of flavors is flawless.Simone was my server and his service was fantastic, he answered the questions I had, he was paying close attention to my needs and checked a couple times to make sure I was having a great experience. If you put together this great service with the yummy food, I am sure you will also have a great experience in this place. This place is perfect for groups or a casual date night.
This place was really nice. I loved the option to swap books and play board games while you waited and ate. It was a great environment for bonding. The service was great and food was good. There were also several vegan and vegetarian options. Bathroom was clean. I didnt like the fish and chips a lot, but that may have just been me.
Fan-bloody-tastic. Had traditional Sunday roast, followed by apple & berry crumble with custard. Yum-o
The Sunday roast beef was amazing, and the potatoes deserve a five-star rating all to themselves! Easily the best roast dinner Ive had in a long time.
Great hearty food and such a generous serving size! Really good value for money as well as being a super tasty meal. The veggies were cooked to perfection and so fresh, I had the pork roast and it was amazing, juicy meat and crispy crackling. Great service from all the guys there too, I would definitely recommend!
Amazing Shepards pie and sticky pudding. Fun atmosphere to hang out and drink a pint or two.
This is an exceedingly pleasant pub, nice grub and well kept beers. One of the best Sunday roasts in the capital.
Friendly and accommodating staff, ok burger. Had a few craft beers from London breweries. Nice place.
The first place my girlfriend and I visited during our holiday in London ❤️ Its the place where we discovered, for the first time, the scotch egg, we ate delicious dishes and one night we spent our time playing with board games. Its a very nice and cozy place and it will be the first pub we will go when we return :the bartender was very helpful and very funny
Great and friendly service from the bar staff. Great location, great atmosphere , great back garden & great location . Will gladly go back. My son was happy to see the board games and entertained us with his chess skills !
