Local option specializing in pancakes, waffles & other classic breakfast fare in simple surrounds.
I haven’t been there since I was a child, I finally got a chance to come back and I LOVE what they’ve done!!! The food is as spectacular as ever and service was amazing! A great trip down memory lane!!!
This place is amazing! Maria was our server and she was impeccable. Arrived there about 1:45PM and food was out shortly after placing order. No wait time because of the time we got there. Family and I all got different plates and there was not one thing we disliked about food. We aren’t from Chicago we went based off reviews and family and I are glad that we chose this place it was our first time there and will definitely be back.
It was a beautiful busy Sunday morning. They opened up the outdoor area so we sat outside. French toast, bacon, cheese and onion omelet, hashbrowns, pancakes, coffee all delicious!
We usually have a great time when we stop in for breakfast. This was nor one of those times, the door person was on his phone, completely ignored us. Walked us to the table and flung the menus on it. Walked away still talking on his phone. Wont be back for awhile
All 3 of us enjoyed our meal and my skillet was the best Ive ever had! Antonia (our serverwas awesome too! Great place for breakfast!!
Great food and excellent service. Our waitress was amazing!!!! Her name was Tony ask for her she is the best!
Staff is amazing , food is excellent. On top of that I forgot my glasses at the table. They put them aside for me and had them waiting for me upon my return. Highly efficient and being able to check out with toast app is a nice added feature
Such a great place with amazing food and service! Delicious! Great prices. Very clean. So happy I chose this place, you should too!
Absolutely fantastic place for ( in my case breakfast! From the ambience, to service, to food! I loved my skirt steak ( seasoned and seared perfectly!), sunny side eggs ( cooked perfectly!GOOD quality whole wheat toast - nicely browned, perfectly cooked and seasoned bacon, good coffee, extra fruits and actual variety of side veggies ( all fresh!tomatoes, lettuce and avocado! The manager and staff was discreetly attentive too! Love, love, love this place, well be coming back again for sure!!!! Thank you so much for great experience and amazing food!!!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Huge portions! 2 meals and a side could feed a family of 4, easily. Its good diner food and the servers are kind and friendly with children. We left overly full with a Togo box and the kids were very happy.
Amazing restaurant. We discovered this place after being racially profiled at the local Denny’s. They are so welcoming and accommodating. No wonder they are always busy. Everything is made with care and served with a smile. Top tier customer service! If you have time or want to eat at a new place give them a chance! Please remember patience is a virtue. Keep doing great you guys!
My friend and I ordered the same menu on 8-22-22, A Reuben sandwich and a latte. My friend asked for a sweet potato fries and I asked regular fries, There was no explanation of the additional charge from the server. We paid separately and find out I paid $1 more after we got back in the car.A few days later I heard that my friend was charged more than she paid, and when I checked my bank, it was changed more than I paid. Even though I chose 18% of the tips I have been added 20% without permission. It may be a few cents, less than a dollar, but I feel really uncomfortable.I recommend that you check your bank. Can NOT trust this restaurant.
Too expensive for what you get. Need to change the type of potato they use for hash browns. They were under cooked and heavy. Not recommended by me. 41 dollars for two people? No special requests. Straight from the menu. Not going back!!!!!!
An amazing breakfast experience! The restaurant is very clean with modern farmhouse theme. The staff are friendly and efficient, which was a big plus on a busy Saturday morning. The prices are very reasonable, especially for the size and quality of the offerings. I had a Texas skillet, which tasted fantastic. I wasnt sure I was going to finish but I wanted to try the pancakes. Even those the are just a side to the meal, even those were prepared wonderfully and tasted divine. So was their homemade chicken noodle soup. Would definitely come back again!
Awesome food and reasonable prices. The service was good and the place was packed. Wait staff was really on it and it was truly a great experience.
We got lost & happened upon this place. Good pancake, oatmeal, & bacon. Liked the fresh squeezed orange juice machine. The juice was indeed fresh & delicious, albeit pricey. But it was the highlight of our extremely rainy frustrating day. If we get lost up this way again, we WILL stop in.
Visited 8/10/2022. Have always had good food....until today! Ordered the biscuits and gravy, which was always delicious. This visit was different. I couldnt even finish my meal. They had to change their gravy. It was barely edible. Did not finish! Whoever is in charge of ordering, please go back to whatever brand you used. If its a cost issue, I would rather pay a little extra than try to choke down what I got today.
Ok so my Husband and I went here as a nice breakfast for our 16 year Anniversary and they were amazing! I had the Corned beef hash and eggs benedict and he had the biscuits and gravy and we both shared some Blintz and Waffle, the food here is in point and delicious! Be prepared to leave here fully stuffed and satisfied! We look forward to coming back again whenever were in town, thank you for a wonderful experience.
Food was amazing! The pecan rolls were incredible. Will be coming back in the future :)
Excellent food for a great price! The waitress and host were very friendly and inviting. If your in town for Navy Boot Camp Graduation, I highly recommend going here for breakfast (their fresh-squeezed orange juice and Eggs Benedict are the best!).
Why did you get rid of the Greek entrees? Gyros omelets with feta, gyros platters? The Point was my go to place for great breakfast/lunch Greek entrees…very disappointed. Hope you find room in your menu to bring them back. I won’t be dining there til you do.
Fantastic food, awesome service, and amazing prices. My kids loved it here. Portions were incredible as well. I can see why the locals love it. Its a destination restaurant for sure. Check it out for breakfast!
Dude honestly some of the best staff ever. Kind, polite and friendly. Its is my second time around and everything me and my girlfriend ordered was hot ,fresh and definitely delicious. You guys are awesome and I hope to come again.
First time here. Very impressed! Presentation of food was great. Food tasted as good as it looked. But, what will absolutely bring me back is the excellent service. My husband and I were there with dear friends of ours, a couple in their mid-90s, both (veryhard of hearing. Our server, Fernando, was fantastic. When speaking to our friends, he looked directly at them and spoke clearly, slowly, & loudly enough for them to understand, without shouting or making it sound like he was speaking to toddlers. Just automatically engaged with them in such a polite and appropriate way, because he realized right away they needed the extra attention! I was SO impressed. We have been out to eat several times with these friends and have not always had such understanding and caring servers. I would also like to mention the manager, Israel, who was there the morning we were there. He was very friendly, very efficient and accommodating for our special group. Thank you so much, The Point Pancake House! Keep up the good work. We will be back! 👍👌❤️
YUM! Chewy pancakes 🥞 We ordered Mexican skillet and country fried steak. All were tasty. My husband also loved homemade corn beef hash! A bit pricy but it’s worth the price. Service was very good too, we felt welcomed. Don’t forget to ask for a whipping cream if you order pancakes!
Food is generous and decent. Service is fast and accommodating. Restaurant is overall clean. Parking lot is spacious.
Such great food, service and freshly squeezed OJ!
Previously 4 stars, but they lost 3 today. If your kitchen closes at 2:00, your restaurant closes at 2:00. You should ensure to update and keep accurate hours on socia media to prevent driving away additional business. For a table of three, they easily just lost out on $100+ (not including tipgiven their prices. Not coming back.
Fun little breakfast spot. Got the lox Benedict which was better than expected. Have a very expansive menu that’s all reasonably priced, would recommend.
They add an automatic gratuity of 20% for all food orders over $50. This is what the cashier male told me when I went to pay my bill. It doesn’t matter how many ppl is your party. Usually in Illinois they add 18% for parties of 8 and above. Just an FYI. Food was ok. At least this time my French toast was not moldy like the previous visit. I almost feel that place is a nah. And just to mention we were only two adults and one child. Weird business model. Or simply greed. I was a server once. Usually give more than 20% tip but that’s not the way. Such a bs. For a party of 3. Maybe our server sells $100 in food for a party of 8 and she tough she won’t be questioned why she added the automatic gratuity. The bill was high enough for nobody to notice and most likely their pos system didn’t ask about the number of guests at the table. It feels they are trying to cheat the guests. And not necessarily the owners. They are simply trying to stay in business judging by their answer. But the staff. Too sad.
Normally a good experience, but today must have been overwhelmingly busy. I usually tip +20%, but I simply couldnt justify it this time. The server took our drink order and I mentioned that we also wanted to order the German pancake (since it takes 30 min to prepare). Drinks are brought out and our orders are placed. The server asks if we still want the German pancake because it could take up to 40 minutes ... Umm, yes, thats why I ordered it earlier. Most of the food comes out within a reasonable time, except for my daughters banana nutella waffles (and obviously the German pancake). I asked my daughter wheres her food and she said the server told her its coming out soon. About 5 minutes pass, still no waffles and I overhear someone in the kitchen saying I need a banana nutella waffles and German pancake. (There are 6 of us and we are seated by the kitchen area. The server comes by and I ask if theyve even started on the waffles, and she tells me yes its coming out soon. Several minutes pass and I hear someone in the kitchen say wheres the banana nutella waffles? I need that before the German pancake. Although my brother, parents and son are enjoying their meals; I did not want to touch my food until my daughter was served as well. The waffles and pancake finally come out at the same time (mind you, it could take up to 40 minutes to make). Im hungry, but no longer able to fully enjoy my meal, much less the pancake. Were about ready to ask for to-go boxes, and the server comes up and says, did you still want this apple juice? (another item that was ordered but long forgotten). We ask for the boxes, and she says do you want your check, too? Hmmmm ... 😐 🙄 😑. The total bill was $140 (including tax). I pay the exact total through the cellphone app, since I know servers usually prefer cash for tips. Still waiting for the boxes, and I can sense they want to clear our table, but Im in no rush since Im still patiently waiting for the boxes and we could all use the time for our food to settle. Our server passes by at least twice tending to her other tables (without boxes in hand). Finally another server asks if we need anything else, and I tell her were waiting for boxes. Boxes are brought to us and I leave the receipt and $13 cash. The food was great, but does it warrant a 20% tip for that kind of service? 🤔
This place was wonderful. Great food and great services. Workers are very friendly and welcoming. If you are from out of town and want somewhere to get breakfast I recommend going here.
The staff and service was extremely friendly and polite. The food was good too besides…. The orange juice was nasty for my taste. It tasted to me like sunny D. I took once sip and knew. I ordered the meat lovers skillet which was wonderful but… I wish the hash browns were cooked longer no crisp whatsoever . My boyfriend had the banana bread French toast and he liked it a lot. It’s a really nice place. Might come back!
The food was good, this has always been a favorite breakfast place, so much so that my friend drives from Kenosha. Today, we were quite disappointed, as we were asked to leave because they needed our table to seat other guests. We had only been there for about a hour and a half, so did not feel we had overstayed our welcome. We hadnt seen each other for awhile, so we ate slow and talked a lot. We actually were caught off guard. The funny thing is, there did not appear to be a wait. Needless to say, they lost customers today.
Wait staff is very attentive.Food is really good.Prices are reasonable.TAKE NOTE: The in house fresh squeezed orange juce is fantastic! Be sure to have a glass, or stop by and purchase a bottle to take home to enjoy.
Service excellent, food superb, very fresh large portions hot and ready quickly cost $$ in the middle for pricing but well worth it for the quality. Will definitely be back . The dish features fresh crepes with ham scrambled eggs spinach topped with hollandaise and a side of fresh homemade cornbeef hash. Coupled with fresh squeezed OJ the oj is alone is worth stopping in for. This place is on 🔥🔥🔥 for food and services highly recommended 👏 10 🌟s
Short of it: Decent place, but had average food with a little too high of a price tagThe place was very nice on the inside and had wonderful service. However, the food was pretty average. We got the Texas Skillet, Mexican Skillet, and Banana Foster Pancakes. The Mexican skillet was definitely the best item! The hash browns werent crispy, which I was disappointed by. I was also disappointed by the pancakes. The Banana Foster Pancakes were nothing more than regular pancakes with syrup, a 1/4 of a banana and a couple pecans. The prices are a little too high for the taste and experience. Might go back to try other items, however I was overall underwhelmed.
Nice parking lot. There were 5 of us and while the service was good, the food was ok. My daughters loved their blueberry pancakes and banana and Nutella Belgium waffle. My husband had the carb Benedict and it didnt look good. He also really didnt like it. I got the Mexican omelet. There was a lot of avocado in it, which altered the texture. It was also bland. The hasbrowns were good and so is the freshly squeezed OJ. If I were to return, Id try the pancakes.
A nice find for some breakfast in the Lake County area! They have a wide menu with plenty if options! It was honestly tough to decide on one. Staff and management were very friendly and welcoming. We were seated and served at an average wait time. Parking lot is fairly large but beware it can be an issue during busy mornings. Certainly a great spot to have breakfast or brunch and will certainly be coming back.
We recently stopped for a bite to eat and were very impressed. The service was excellent, food was delicious and fresh. They have some really unique, creative breakfast dishes. This is much better than your run of the mill breakfast joint. The corned beef benny was a tasty dish.
To start, the parking lot was full ... I always take this as a good sign that the food must be good. When we walked in, the host told us there would be a wait but he would get is in as soon as he was able to and it ended up only being about 2 min.As another family was walking out, they passed us and said "this place is worth the wait".We were greeted by the server, Maria, right away and seated at a very clean table. This was our first time there so we took awhile to look at the menu but enjoyed the freshest squeezed orange juice and grapefruit juice Ive ever drank (they bottle and sell their own fresh squeezed orange juice to gowhile we looked everything over. There is a HUGE selection of amazing breakfast options so it was hard to choose. Once we decided (I HIGHLY recommend The Texas skillet!!our food came out piping hot and fresh in less than 10 min. All of our food came out perfectly as ordered, it was absolutely delicious, the server and even host, came over to check on us and we finished every bite!Great portions, great options, great prices and great environment. They also have the scan and pay option on their receipt so no waiting for them to take your card and charge you.Everything about this restaurant deserves a 5 star review across the board!!3 months later and decided to come back for this amazing food ... we were seated by the same host and Maria was our server again. We got the same food but this time ordered the pecan roll and OMG it was incredible!!Maria even remembered us!5 star review a second time around!!
Amazing spot in Gurnee to meet with friends for a delicious breakfast. The restaurant is modernly decorated and inviting. The orange juice is fresh squeezed and hands down the best! Service was exceptional. I ordered the Crab Benny and the crab cakes were perfectly crunchy! My husband ordered the Red Velvet pancakes and said they were good! Our kiddo loves the Mickey Mouse pancakes and fruit. Definitely a great place to stop for a sit down breakfast.
It’s been a while since my wife and I have eaten here at this breakfast restaurant. We went as soon as it opened and there were a group of police officers in the different section of the building. Each section has its own kind of style, one being modern the other more farm house style. The server was accommodating, food came fairly quick. The strawberry shake wasn’t anything amazing and I feel as though the look of the food was on point but wasn’t feeling the flavor. Was a little disappointed that there was no soup.
Seating faster than anticipated, food had great taste and portions. Great servers and parking although full was easy to get as people left.
I have been here many times as its one of my favorite breakfast restaurants. The omelets and red velvet pancakes are the best.
Wonderful family breakfast place! The staff are extremely good, and the place itself very nice yet simple (in a great way). The food was extremely good and very fresh. Fresh blueberries on the French toast, fresh strawberries for the kids pancakes, fresh veggies in the omelettes, and most importantly fresh orange juice!!!
Very nice Breakfast and Lunch dining. Had the Pecan and Banana pancakes. Very good food. Looks like the interior has recently been renovated. Highly recommend will go again.
Food was amazing! Had the corn beef hash skillet with pancakes. Was about 14 dollars but its a large portion of food! Looking forward to trying more dishes here and the pancakes alone will have me back!
What I like is they have Gluten Free food. The place was busy we have to wait 15 minutes for our table plus we have to ask for silverware after the food arrive. The food was good, fresh, hot and tasty.
This is only part of the food once I gave my daughter some. The steak was huge and always a nice portion of hashbrowns with onions and eggs. My eggs are always the way I want them. I order from here about once biweekly. I like to try different things but everything Ive had so far has been A+. Ive had a skillet and an omelet before. The brioche French toast is great. Today is the first time they forgot my butter. And I picked up my order... first time ever. Only to realize Ive passed them many times and had always promised to stop in. My daughter likes to dine in so when things return to normal we will sit in.Definitely try them out.
