Lovely sunday roast friendly staff.
Took my Granddaughter here the staff were Polite and very friendly.
Had a cracking pint real ale here! Would like to have had more but time not on my side due to problems getting from Barham Crem. as did others!
A lovely meal and reasonably priced. Made to feel very welcome and made my granddaughters birthday special
Lovely foodFriendly atmosphereGreat staff
This is the closest pub if you are staying at Seaview Holiday Park, just a short stroll away and totally recommended. The pub was busy, the staff were friendly. There was a pool table inside but this was in full use whilst we were there. We enjoyed a pleasant drink whilst sitting outside. We heard great reviews about the food, but unfortunately due to some event food was not available on the only day we could go.We would return to sample their food if back in the area.
Great roast beef, with cauliflower cheese and all the trimmings! Service excellent, with friendly staff and the wonderful Mel 👍👏🤗
Great place.great music.good food.Lovely people what more can i say
Lovely Sunday roast.Probably best to book ahead
Staff pleasant, when they finally came to serve us. We were on the point of walking out. Food pretty basic, ok, if you like burgers with everything, but sensibly priced.
Amazing atmosphere here. Gets very busy but the friendly staff handle it well. Lots of Live music events. Definitely recommend. Get in early if you want to sit near the action.
Lovely place, very friendly staff and great food, they cant do enough to help, thoroughly recommended 👌🏻
What a lovely community minded pub. Well run, well stocked, clean and tidy. Food very nice, service 2nd to none!
Visited for the first time in a few years. Absolutely loved. Very welcoming staff and locals. Good beer at a fair price. Will visit again to try out the food.
Average locals pub in Swalecliffe.Went to see a decent bandthere last Friday - first pint and a half I had were top of the new barrel and not good but last two pints were OK.No real beer garden a minus - you have to use the car park at the front of the building!
Very pleasant ladies behind the bar. Quite a loud pub though, no good if you want a chat. This was a Thursday night.
We have lived in whitstable for just a year from Essex, when to the plough for Sunday dinner and I was not disappointed the food was the best we have tasted , and the staff was wonderful, will be going again 😀 😋
What a change around from a disappointing place with poor atmosphere over 2 years ago to this. The place was quite literally rocking the house band SOS was superb and the place was rammed with classic sounds.
Excellent food, good portions service exemplary . Very friendly atmosphere, no hesitation in recommending fo Sunday lunch..
We had our Christmas work meal here tonight. I would like to thank all the staff for being so lovely Food was delicious and the disco was great. We all had a fab night. Thank you. Will definitely recommend.
Supporting my local pub after no shows and cancellations. Top pubTop mealGreat owner
The service was fair,The meal was very disappointing, because it was tepid, roast potatoes the small ones were burnt and large ones had no colour,The veg, the chief doesnt know the difference between raw and Al-dente, andCauliflower cheese was cheese lessAnd the vegetable tart was very strange herby flavour,We were very sad as we wanted to support a local business. Can not recommend to any one,Will no return sorry
Was busy when we got there for a dart match. Bit suprised when stools went up on tables really early. Nice pub though. Looks like they do food, as a room in the back had tables with centre piece vases of flowers. Havent been to this pub for years.
Great atmosphere with friendly staff. Theres always something on and Mel really makes sure to value her customers. We visit on a regular basis and sure will be back
Proper family pub, well kept beer, friendly atmosphere, British grub, good quality at bargain prices, well run with brilliant staff. I approve.
I had not been to the plough for a long time. We booked a few days before as it was a Sunday & I thought it would be busy but it was very quiet. We ordered quite quickly, its a fixed roast menu on a Sunday,a choice of chicken turkey beef lamb with all the vegetable but you could choose if there is something you dont want. Food arrived again quite quickly with a large serving of food. We then had a dessert I can recommend the lemon fudge cake & cream & my husband had the chocolate fudge cake but there was other choices as well. The price of the food was reasonable for the amount of food we had. The staff are very friendly & the plough is dog friendly, so we can take our little dog with us next time. Definitely recommend the plough, good food & friendly staff.
We worked here in the bar 50 years ago when the only food available was a pie or crisps. The fish and chips we had on this trip were the best Ive had in years. The pub was clean, well organised and the staff very friendly. Thoroughly recommend
First time we visited the Plough . Gosh the Sunday roast . New owner . Staff are lovely food is first class. Plus they are having life gigs . Look forward to my next meal with Family or friends.
I dont like to do this. But I definitely had food poisoning yesterday. I been there plenty of times with no problems. But yesterday, I ordered steak and chips. After 20 minutes. Waitress said they have no steaks. Ok. I decided to have beef ale meal. Waitress turned up with pie and mash. No peas. Due to the fact . Her words. They got burnt. Wenthome. 2 hhome to be very sick 2 hours later
Went there for Sunday lunch. Glad we booked as it did get quite busy. Sunday roast dinner was absolutely beautiful, beef was tender and Yorkshire pudding was beautifully crisp and soft but would recommend not having the chicken as it was dry as a bone. Also discovered was Grasshopper Pie was and its a firm favourite! Definitely would come here again.
Family visit for Sunday lunch. Staff very polite. Personally I would prefer not to have my plate swimming in gravy, maybe they could serve the gravy separately?Price is a bit too high for the food.
Just the most amazing atmosphere! Mel and Chris make me feel at home every time I step through the door, and I know Im not alone! Fantastic friendly service, would thoroughly recommend to everyone!
What a pleasant experience. Staff are friendly and attentive. Food top draw particularly the Sunday roast. If your staying at Seaview holiday park then the 5 min walk well worth it (not impressed with Seaview food). Grasshopper pie on the desert menu a must !
Absolutely amazing pub ! With the most amazing landlady and landlord...not forgetting the staff as well!Just an absolutely brilliant team with the community at the heart and soul of everything they do !Cannot recommend this pub enough !So welcoming and just the most fantastic atmosphere!Love everything about this place !
Fantastic place for food and a pint. Friendly staff, lovely dining area, footy on the tv and a large car park. What more could you want!
Turned up unannounced (all 22 of usasked for a Sunday roast and they accommodated us no problems .Dinners all came out hot,and deliciousBeers good, food good, staff, landlady and her friendly husband amazing.Well done the Plough and thank you.Hope to see you again.
FANTASTIC FOOD, GREAT STAFF, QUALITY BEER!! NOTHING MUCH MORE YOU COULD ASK FOR FROM A LOVELY PUB SUCH AS THIS!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED AND VERY MUCH WORTH A VISIT!!!
We had a lovely lunch at The Plough yesterday, on the plus side the staff were lovely, food was great, huge portions and very tasty. On the downside the restaurant area was cold and the wait for food was too long, the couple next to us waited an hour for their food. I know there was a large party, but wait was a little too long.
It was nicely decorated, clean and good toilets. Good music and nice people. The meal was disappointing. Far too much for the turkey choice, nobody could eat it all yet there was no stuffing and no pigs in blankets. Loads of leftovers went back to the kitchen on plates. Also the roast potatoes and parsnips were burnt. I had salmon with new pots and salad. There was no sauce, no butter for the pots and no dressing on the salad which was mostly spinach. On request I got some dressing and gathered some butter pats leftover from the starter from my friends. Despite this, we had a good evening.
I visited the Plough for the first time on the 23rd November as there was live music and we had heard great things about the venue and singer. On arrival the ambiance was delightful with Christmas lights draped tastefully around the bar and walls with a homey friendly atmosphere. The staff were friendly and polite and the landlady quick to remember our drinks order. The drinks were of average price and there was a big selection of largers, ales and spirits.Once the entertainment started the room was engulfed by the singers voice the narrowness of the area soon apparent when people had little room to dance. The singer an amazing gent called Terry sung a wide selection of music from the 50s to the 90s, every song most people knew and by the end of the night everyone, no matter their age, was singing and dancing along. All in it was a very good night and I would return.
A great evening at the Plough and the band "Lost weekend" were great. Shame the only male toilet is next to the band playing and it made it problematic to get past public watching the band to use the SMALL toilet. Would be great if another toilet could be used or move the band to the other end of this lovely big pub. Bar staff were great and I got served quickly on this very busy night. All in All a lovely evening and nice to see this great pub heaving with happy people. Hopefully more great bands can play on a regular Friday and Saturday as this looks like it could be another great venue for entertainment. A big thanks to the management for making a great evening, hopefully more soon to come.
Very very good. Fresh veg, good tender meat, friendly staff, and spotless.
Apologies for the Hound taking liberties on the lovely carpet! Really nice friendly and dog friendly pub. Lovely crowd, lovely pint. No food on a Monday, for information, I wasn’t eating anyway. Will definitely be back to try the food though
A transformation has taken place at the plough. Great new restaurant and food, fully stocked bar with real ales and a good choice of lagers. The gin selection is enviable. Its clean, its tidy and has very attentive staff. Great pub for family and pet friendly. Its a winner.
Under new ownership, much improved. Had a great Sunday roast which is now table service rather than carvery. Been redecorated without loosing character. Friendly efficient staff and good selection of real ales.
The plough! What can i say! This place now it has been taken over by Mel is amazing.I had my best friends babyshower here and mel was so accommodating to us. We could decorate the function room however we wanted and make it our own. The function room has its own bar so you can keep to yourselves if you so wish. The main bar is lovely and the staff are super friendly. The food from the new restaurant i am yet to try. But all ive seen of it looks delicious! I cant wait to try it! We had a buffet at the shower and there was more than enough food to go around to our guests, and a wide spread for everyone.Overally the plough is now a really lovely pub/restaurant with a nice atmosphere and very helpful owner!
Staff friendly and helpful, Sunday Roast was nice, they are awaiting back restaurant to be completed.
A place for everyone! From old to young, everyone is welcome. Went in yesterday afternoon and was surprised to see such a busy friendly atmosphere, I was greeted upon arrival and served within minutes!New management have clearly done a cracking job. Everything is clean, everyone is happy, I cannot fault the place at all! Will definitely recommend and will definitely be returning, especially for the variety of entertainment every weekend; something the area clearly needed :)
