Refurbished Victorian pub on a pedestrian street with streetside seating and a British menu.
Real London experience, mandantory after visiting British Museum!
Always a nice pub. A bit pricey but it is a tourist area. Beers are always good and staff always polite.
Good place for a beer, and some fish and chips!
Cute place.Nice and quite(as Pub can be😉)very good food.Authentic,with pleasant stuff 👍👍👍
Excellent food like the classics fish and chips as well as the steak and ale pie. Friendly staff, good beer and whiskey selection. Highly recommend.
Great gin and great bar staff. Nice relaxed atmosphere. A Happy place.
A great little pub in a very convenient location if youre visiting the museums. Service is very fast and the food is good too. Special thanks to Kaspar, Emily & Gemma who were particularly good when I visited last weekend.
Had a lovely evening last night food lovely, bar girl Natasha very helpful and friendly 😊
Lovely staff (Gemma). Nice and chilled atmosphere, decent selection of beers. Will visit again if Im in London.
Fantastic neighborhood pub.Extraordinary beers and ciders.
Natasha and jasper make a great team behind the bar. Professional, fabulous, witty, fun. I’ll definitely be back!
Lovely little pub to stop for some food on a hot day. Was served by the brilliant Gemma who recommended some great places to see away from the tourists and also has a fab taste in music!!
I strongly recommend this pub to others. For its amazing staff like Natasha and Emily who were kind and nice. Also for the food which very good, I have to say its one of the best things Ive eaten my entire life. I strongly and passionately rate the plough a high 5.
I went here with my family and we all had a amazing time, delicous food and great service from Natasha and Emily, I would definitely recommend to everyone.
Lovely pub in a quiet area. Me and my Family really enjoyed the meal weve had. Friendly Staff. Especially Natasha Gemma and Emily great team work
The staff at the bar were very polite, the two that stuck out the most with being the most important with my time there to make sure I was comfortable was Emily and Natasha. They were really good at making sure, I was comfortable and made me feel more comfortable than any other pub Ive been to. Overall the experience was outstanding. Polite staff and some delicious food. The best combination you need at a pub. I would strongly recommend the plough on museum street highly to my friends and family also fellow people who likes to have an outstanding experience at a pub.
Love the decor and it is cozy with a nice ambient. Menu is new and clean unlike some of the Greene King Pubs. Good working Aircon indoor and a nice sitting area outdoor on a sunny warm day. Nothing worth mentioning of the service though as the bartenders is performing his duty with no characters.Still a place for a few good drinks with companies.
Gemma was a joy and so helpful! The fish and chips were the best our family has ever had. Highly recommend!
Fantastic beer best shots and amazing staff James and Jasper helped turn an average Thursday into the best day of the week
Excellent stuff, amazing food and impeccable service! Especially have to mention James, Natasha and Joanna for making every expierence here very special! Would absolutely recommend it!
Absolutely love this place. Great food and drink and excellent staff. Honestly cant express this enough-Ive never been to pub with more friendly staff. If youre in the area, even if you arent, this is a great pub!!
Went to this lovely little bar yesterday for lunch great find food delicious and the manager s Natasha very pleasant and welcoming definitely will be returning in the future
Amazing pub, and even better staff. James, Jasper, Natasha, and the people are TOP notch. 10/10 would recommend!! Stop by if you’re going to the British Museum!
The place is as nice as it gets, old wood, many different types of beers, typical English tavern. However, attendance is far from acceptable, they work at a very slow pace. despite not being many clients during my visit, it took an hour for them to serve the food and at least my burger was as good as the worst burger un McDonald’s…This beautiful place needs a change of employees.
Waited over 30 minutes for a very bad looking, old tasting food. Avoid.
Good pub food at a very convenient location. If the food was about 5-10% cheaper, it would have been five stars.
Conveniently located on Museum St. A nice, comfortable spot with friendly service and a hunger-busting menu absent flash but filled with traditional fare in sizable portions. Great beers along with locally crafted ales and lagers. Great fish and chips with peas, smashed or otherwise, thick cut chips with malt vinegar and/or gravy. Traditional pies as well. Say hi to Gemma and the chef. Fun, friendly and ready with a smile.
Lovely pub in a quiet area. Me and my colleagues really enjoyed the meal weve had. Friendly staff.
One of the best Sunday roasts. Meat was thick, juicy and tasty and the wine gravy was from another world. Apple pie was not very sweet which made me enjoy it even more. Service fast and staff were amazing. There was an open mike so I moved on the other side after dinner and it was lovely. Seing the staff singing and dancing while serving and the guests so happy made me not want to leave so I staied until closing. And last the place was spotless and the toilet was so clean and shiny that I could not believe my eyes...rarely you find such a clean toilet in a pub. I cannot wait to return! I did not get to photograph the side veggies that came with the roast as the cawliflower was so good that i digged into it straight away :)
Gemma and Kajan are the best. I was in London for work and decided to stop by this pub and must say it was a great experience. Gemma and Kajan was so friendly and the beer was so good I am recommending everyone to stop by.
Nice place, burgers are really good
Lovely pub with good vegan options! We had a nice family dinner and drinks, thank you to James who was very friendly and helped me with all my questions about the menu. Good experience and look forward to visiting again.
The philly steak is absolutely 10/10This pub is our local after work and we come here very regularly! Great customer service , very friendly and fast service with delicious food ! The plough has brilliant happy hour deals on beer / Prosecco & cocktail….it felt we was getting drunk for FREE!!!Great outdoor seats in the sun during lunchtime.Definitely worth a visit :)
Decent food, atrocious service. The lady behind the counter runs the pub as if it were her personal dining room. She repeatedly sneered at me for ordering the vegan pie, in a deeply offensive tone that she may have perceived as too subtle for my ears, who knows... “Good old mushrooms, eh?”; “No mash for you, that’s not vegan.”; and then some more, all entirely unasked for. She has seen the last of my custom, and so has the pub unfortunately. The bartenders were kind, gracious, and patiently endure her patronage.
Really bad experience. I got sick few hours after eating their roasted chicken… Same thing with my friends who took their pies.To their « defense » they told us they were really busy that day. But still, it is not an excuse for serving intoxicated food.Anyway be careful if you are planning on ordering anything else than drinks
Great service from Jo, Gemma and the Team. Always made to feel welcome with a nice selection of beers. Fish and chips is a winner too!
I visited this pub last week for a quick meet-up with friends. The vibe was so welcoming and the food was amazing. Service was prompt and friendly. Special thanks to Teshane for taking care of our table and making our night fantastic! 5/5
London prices for drinks of course, communication problems, my cousin ordered a Zinfandel, took three goes before he understood what she meant. Not too noisy , background music not too loud.Quite relaxing, but that depends who you are with.
Great location, just beside the British Museum. Very nice, attentive and friendly staff. The best fish & chips I have ever had in London! I think I found my fav place when I stay around Holborn!
A lovely friendly atmosphere and staff is very attentive and welcoming. They couldn’t do enough for us despite it being very busy. We went to watch a game of football yesterday afternoon and had a few drinks and a meal which was delicious, the manager and team were brilliant and helpful thank you very much, we will definitely be back! 😊
Great food The favourite platter was very nice I would recommend if you would like to share or can’t make your mind up on what to eat you get a big portion 2 burgers and 4 chicken wings chips and 2 fish goujoun and two sauces that comes with it.
Avoid this place. The staff tells you what you order will come. Then they send over what you didn’t order. Then they won’t take it back even when you refuse to eat it. The manager doesn’t refund you for their mistake. He just walks away. Thank you for getting back to me. Can you give me your email? I’m in London right now and it was the location by the British Museum. I didn’t eat one night because your staff ruined my meal. By telling me one thing and not giving me what I ordered
Lovely pub within walking distance of the british museum, me and my husband enjoyed a steak and ale pie and a hunters chicken. The staff were welcoming and very attentive, the man behind the bar always had a smile on his face and was very polite.
Conveniently situated for the museums, the Plough offers a typically warm pub welcome to customers. As pub grub goes, it offers nice, if unspectacular, dishes at reasonable prices. My girlfriend got a side of pickled onions with her fish n chips. That was as edgy and disruptive as their dishes got.
Decent pub short walk from the British Museum. Good to stop in for a pint after a long day walking.Sport is played on a big TV, and some old chaps were eating your stereotypical pub grub.London prices as expected, so dont expect a big night out to be cheap
Nice pub in Central with good food, good beer, nice staff and big screens to watch the football, what more could you ask for!! Was looking for a pub to have a beer and watch the game had some food because we saw some going to another table and it looked great, really glad we did because it was amazing. Also Man City beating Arsenal 5-0 helped
Great food and attentive staff. Inside of the building it is very clean and freshly done. Not too expensive for the location, and the portion size is good.
Barman was rude and lazy. Spoke to me with a bad tone then didn’t collect our food when it was ready in the food elevator. We had the roast which was very disappointing. The beef was HORRID and very hard. Don’t come for food.
1. Maybe 3 gluten free options available - nachos, steak and salad - one of which I was told wasnt available (salad), then tried to order the cheaper of the two steaks and was told they didnt have that. Ended up spending £16 (AUD $30on a steak I didnt even really want. Not impressed2. Boyfriend ordered chicken wings. When the wings came to our table we were told that they had run out of wings halfway through and instead of 5 wings he got 3 wings and random bits of deep fried chicken thrown in (see photo)3. I paid £16 (30AUD?!?@?!For the saddest steak and salad ever. On top of that steak tasted cheap:(
An enjoyable Victorian local pub with the front bar and what may be referred to as a snug. Beer was good and the staff friendly. Not quite so sure about the music. Still a perfectly enjoyable time was had, this pub is close to the British Museum so enjoys quite a footfall from its visitors. However, there is plenty of space and you can also sit outside, all makes for a pleasant atmosphere.
