The chef who made my eggs benny needs to grow a pair. He had the audacity to obnoxiously laugh for the entire restaurant to hear after he received my criticism. Pathetic excuse for a chef and totally unprofessional. I’d give this a negative 5 stars if it was possible. Totally not qualified ,this restaurant needs to hire a better chef that doesn’t act like a immature child.

This review is a combined review experience as we had dinner when we arrived and breakfast when we left. Ill start with the positives; exceptional staff that if friendly and knowledgeable about allergies. The cleanliness and layout of the restaurant are very nice, even better when you get a window seat. The breakfasts portion to price ratio was almost spot on, the French toast didnt leave me hungry. Now for the negatives; dinner as a whole was extremely over priced for small portions and mediocre at best food. I had the steak and my partner had the chicken, steak was full of gristle and the chicken was on the verge of bland (we ended up going into town to eat afterwards). As I mentioned earlier we so had breakfast, french toast was a positive while the eggs benny was extremely bland. The hollandaise just tasted like thick yolks, not creamy or tangy whatsoever. The hashbrowns were the best part of that meal. Overall was not satisfied with our dining experience here. My advice would be to go somewhere for dinner and if you do have breakfast be aware the food might not be flavorful but at least the price and portions will satisfy you.

We were early for our reservation because the weather was bad. They were able to accomodate us. The food was very good. Everywhere we went in Canada, the produce was very good.

First the staff was attentive and friendly. But I’m giving it a two star review because of the following.1.The chef either doesn’t care or is to consumed with themselves to honor the requests of guests. I am allergic to potatoes, so I asked for Mac N Cheese. Which is on the menu. And the chef declined to make it. And sent the waiter over to ask me to order something else.2.Portion Sizes, they are abhorrently small. I literally left and had to eat more food. 5oz of meat and some greens for $42. Not okay.3.the price for what you get is not worth it. Anywhere else in Banff, of the nearly 14 restaurants we are at, provide much better value for the money.

I was so happy to book this restaurant for a wonderful Saturday night meal with my wife...highly rated for food and the scenery. Unfortunately it appears that money talks and priorities...well...just received a phone call one week before we are to arrive that a last minute wedding has booked the entire restaurant and "so sorry we are cancelling your reservation". My wife and I travel extensively and have visited many top restaurants around the world and wow...this has never happened to us before...not at the type of establishments we visit. I would definitely stay away from this restaurant in the future. Maybe visit as a walk up...the view does look spectacular....

An absolute great experience! Came to the pines before a dark sky tour. I was expecting a nice dinner but they really went above and beyond. Everything is presented beautifully and the servers provide great recommendations. The food also speaks for itself. Every bite was amazing. I would recommend this place to anyone. I went at night so wasn’t able to get the view but if I could go back. I would try for a earlier dinner to get the view of pyramid lake.

Came here on a Saturday morning for breakfast. Arrived at 8:15am, and received at 9am, thus it was a long wait. We ordered the classic 2 eggs meal and the eggs benedict. We found the meal ok, except we thought the fingerling potatoes were a little odd. The coffee was not good. The decor is nice. The sausages were good. Very pricy as well.

The Good: We ordered the bison, which was very tender and the sauce was delicious. The view was beautiful. The Bad: It took 30 minutes from when we were seated to get our drinks. Luckily we ordered our meal at the same time. Although the sauce was good there was hardly any of it on the plate and the waitress didn’t check on us until the end of the meal. We also had butter knives to cut the bison. And the potatoes and broccoli had no flavour. For $40/plate, I left hungry. Also, when we made the reservation we noted it was our honeymoon and they didn’t acknowledge it at all.In summary, the food is over priced and the service was sub-par. I won’t be returning.

The view and atmosphere are absolutely wonderful. The service was good. We went for breakfast. The coffee was pretty dissapointing. In a place like this, with the prices they have, it should be fabulous, but it wasnt even good. The food was mostly great, but the crab cake in my bennie was loaded with a lot of raw garlic, which was a bit much for a person to handle a breakfast time.

This is a top notch dining experience, minus the service. We went for breakfast and really enjoyed the food. It wasnt very busy, but the service was very lack and the server was quite rude. Unfortunate service, great food. The food is worth it though. We loved the view too.

The Pines is nestled on the shore pf Pyramid lake, a scant 10 minutes from Jasper. The restaurant is cozy and comfortable, with fantastic views of the lake. Come for a sunset dinner and you won’t be disappointed. We had the bison and a salad and they were delicious. The meat was perfect, tasty and tender, and the salad was fresh and crisp. Our server Sarah was attentive and friendly snd the experience was exceptional.

I loved their food.I had a bison and a pork & bear meat dish. The flavors are very real and interesting. This place has a very relaxing ambience with a lake side view.Down side: never visit here if you hungry. Small portion and pricey. Not too many options to choose from.

We did the 5 Course with wine pairings and it was fantastic.Sat outside on the patio overlooking the lake, which meant the music was a bit quieter and we could enjoy all the people/dogs on the shore. The food was fabulous. Like lick your plate fabulous and the wine pairings were honestly unreal.Loved the fact that the wines were mostly from BC and from wineries that arent completely mainstream (aka cant find in Costco). Huge shout outs to Isaac & Mark, our server and bartender, who were so damn knowledgeable and lovely. The restaurant and Lodge itself are rustic and beautiful, no pretensions because they know they serve excellent food and drinks. The price for the meal & drinks was more than fair, particularly given the quality.

We had booked the long weekend at pyramid lake resort. The resort its self is beautiful however, the pines restaurant was a let down.1st: They charged us for our water...2nd: When my girlfriend had asked to order from the kids menu due to the regular menu being limited to things she didnt like we were told no.... (There are very little options when it comes to the menu)3rd: The servings are super SMALL for a $117 bill at the end.Im every disappointed. The service was great, But Im still hungry in my room writing this review, going to order pizza

My husband and I tried the 5 Course Patio Tasting Menu for $65/pp and we were both very disappointed. Flavors were lacking, portions were small (Im 120lbs and I was still hungry at the end), and slow service (2hrs on a Tuesday night with less than 30% capacity). Weve tried other restaurants in Jasper for dinner - Syrahs, Raven Bistro, and even Jasper Brewing, all of which we enjoyed more, regardless of price point.

Servers were friendly and helpful, but man the food and portions are a joke… the duck breast at $30 was just 2 thin strips, one duck can probably make them 10 meals here. Taste was also mediocre at best. Our bill came out to be ~$100 for my posted photos plus one drink. Will be ordering a pizza after this

Spent a few days in Jasper & decided to visit the Pines for dinner. Started with an old fashioned with a strip of maple bacon in it. So yummy! We shared two appetizers the bison tartare & a wedge salad. Both were so delicious. For entrees we chose the duck breast & the trout dishes. Just simply amazing dishes! It was simply a perfect night out of dining. Thank you to the very attentive & caring staff👍👍 #thepinesrestaurant #pyramidlakeresort #jasperpark #holidaygetaway #greatdining

What a hidden gem. This beautiful little oasis is only a 10 minute drive from Jasper. Tucked away and surrounded by trees, mountains and a beautiful lake! We were seated in-side, against a window lined wall where we enjoyed the view over our 5 course dinner! The dinner was lovely! We also opted for the wine pairing! So with it! All the dishes will well presented and very tasty! Top items for us were the Herb House Focaccia with MAPLE butter! And the Albert Bison! Both mouthwatering, delicate, flavourful dishes!!Service was also excellent, Andrea was very attentive and kept with the rhythm of the meal very well! Mark the bartender was lovely! Popped over to chat about Sherry!Overall a great experience! Would go back, certainly!!!

Enjoyed a 5 course set menu on the patio and absolutely loved it. The quality of each menu item was amazing, we especially loved the scallop and the bison sous vide. We were pleasantly surprised to find Ontario VQA wines on the menu as well. Our server Hayley took great care of us for this experience. Highly recommend.

I think we hit an off day.....and it was brunch at 2:30....trying to understand why a restaurant with good reviews could be such a disappointment. First Ill take ownership...I ordered crab cakes miles from an ocean....my bad. The pre meal bun was dry but saved by the herb butter. The pate was excellent, with I think it was a cranberry relish....very good. Bread pudding with frozen strawberries. Couldnt do it, dry and stale. We paid the bill....server was apologetic but not to blame. Wont try this one again. Pretty sure.

Dined at the Pines for dinner with my partner the other day and was pleasantly surprised at the overall quality. First of all, the dining room was immaculate. The views are very picturesque. Staff members were very attentive, particularly Mark and Isaac. The bison tartar was one to write home about. Simply delectable. The old fashioned cocktail with table side service was very enjoyable. Keep up the good work team!

Surprisingly disappointing. Expected a great experience because of the positive reviews, but the food was a big let down. The bison tartar was good, but the mains (trout and porkwere poorly executed. The "crispy skin" on the trout was soggy, and it was served with raw spinach and a cold sauce. Not sure if that was intentional, but I would definitely not recommend ordering it. Would visit the lake again, but wont be returning to the restaurant.

While staying in Jasper for the weekend, made a quick decision for a late breakfast at The Pines. So glad we did! The food and the views were amazing and the staff was friendly and efficient. The best sausages we have ever tasted and a bacon, spinach goat cheese omelet that was perfect. The portions are huge, we didnt eat again until dinner time (other than a disappointing scone from the Bearspaw Bakery - but thats another review).

Meh. We were staying at the Pyramid Lake Resort and had breakfast at the Pines one morning. The food is pretty pedestrian and I literally had to fish for the teeny tiny piece of trout under the egg in my Trout Benedict. What they call hashbrowns are in fact pan-fried potato cubes. Service was good though and the view is spectacular.

We went here for breakfast around 9am and it was the perfect time as the restaurant was quiet and not busy. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the view from the windows is stunning. The menu has a good variety of options, but the food itself was just okay. The staff was wonderful!

Their Smoked Trout on Rye makes for a tasty open face sandwich, the shaved fennel and the poached egg on top make for a really good contrast in flavour. Good for a not so heavy meal that is at the same time filling.Their Peach Creme Brûlée is decent, just remember to have them hold the whipped cream.Service by Catherine was efficient.Deducting a star because two of the bottles of water brought to our table, had tiny bits of something leafy green floating in them. One of those things that happens (the third bottle was just fine).

We visited Pyramid Lake and Pyramid Island at Jasper and noticed the restaurant, The Pines, at the resort. On our way back to town, and being dinner time, we asked if we could get a table and were told yes.The views from the restaurant are stunning and definitely added to our enjoyment. In this time of social distancing the tables were well separated and the very friendly and professional staff wore masks.I had the Alberta Angus Chuck Burger--the peppercorn mayo was to die for!--with fries; my husband had the Crispy Chicken Wrap with the house salad--the blueberries were amazing--and he had a side of the peppercorn mayo as a dip for his wrap...and my fries. I only wish I had a jug of the mayo to take home--its incomparable! Our meals definitely lived up to the promise of the location and, indeed, exceeded them. All together the experience made for a very memorable birthday. The Pines is on my list of restaurants-while-on-holiday to which we will go back.
