Shabby chic pub with worn-in tables and a basement club hosting live music, DJs and comedy nights.
Organised a work’s Halloween party in the basement bar of the Phoenix. Rob (Events Managerand his team were superb, great communication, and great service on the night. Would definitely use the venue again! 100% recommend.
The Phoenix is Amazing place to chill around with friends and have a drink. Many Thanks to Abdul for good service and cocktails.
I do like like the Phoenix. Used to visit quite regularly especially when they had comedy on. We dont visit often anymore but the atmosphere is usually great and food is good. Service is ok. Closing on Saturday is midnight and they have a club downstairs thay stays open until 3am. Guinness was terrible (see picbut then many places in London arent much better.
My husband and I had a nice lunch here. Everyone was very helpful and respectful of my need for Gluten Free. The beers were pretty good too.
Brilliant pub 🍻 Great pints, chill vibes, cool decor and A-class staff 👌It’s like a scrubbed up slice of Camden in the middle of booted and suited W1 territory. A real respite. I was lost on how to get in and the bartender came outside to help me!! What a legend. Drop on in.
Nice spot, nothing special but not too dear given the location
Nice pub, with a lovely little performance space underneath.
Brilliant night out, been London a couple of times but never had a greater night then i the phoenix.
Lovely venue and friendly staff, the manager we spoken to was very knowledgeable and also recommended places we should visit in the area. Would happily visit again when in the area and highly recommend to all.
Visited here on our travels, lovely place with nice environment. Good tasty food and service! nothing was too much trouble for the staff. They even helped us with directions for sight seeing.
A little gem of Mayfair. After wandering off the beaten track to find somewhere to relax, we stopped off at this lovely little pub. Food was delicious made all the better by the quality (& reasonably pricedMalbec recommended by the knowledgable staff. What a great find. Will definitely return when in London.Great atmosphere and the staff were wonderfully attentive.Compliments to the whole team.
Ive gone into The Phoenix a good number of times since moving to London 6 months ago. Its got an old english pub vibe and a huge venue space downstairs where they hold a lot of stuff every month. Entire staff from my experience are all very friendly and courteous and its a 30 second walk to soho main street and underground.Food is also very good, but messy which can also be good. Recommend going.
Lovely place! Great staff, very friendly. Definitely coming here again ❤️❤️
The boss burger and jacket potato mash is unreal, would definitely recommend!
Came in for “Wing Wednesday” and was not disappointed. The atmosphere and staff were so welcoming.
One of the best and cosiest pub in Central London. The hosts are friendly and services prompt. Drink selection is brill. After a busy day shopping or hopping around or just being, do come in here. You’ll love it.
Ideally located close to Oxford Circus, with wonderful, kind staff and a great selection of drinks. Theyve also got a really solid selection of games, so come in for a Saturday afternoon with a big gang of friends and have some fun.
Great atmosphere and beers, while wife shops 🍺👍
Great food and beer selection. Especially great service and ambience. Very nice to find a traditional pub this close to Oxford St that’s not touristy.
Great traditional pub just off the main drag of Oxford Circus.Food and cocktails, mainly inside some street standing space.
Whilst shopping in the Mayfair area, stumbled across this fantastic pub with amazing food, excellent service and great vibe... plus, 2for1 burger Tuesdays! Highly recommend, will def come back next trip out!!!
Went in and had a few pints with some friends. Chilled atmosphere. Happily come back here again.
This place is a gem. Bar staff 100% service chat and kindness 100% only one problem I ran out or time its a local in London. Take the time to visit you will love it
Nice affordable cocktails and lovely staff. Definitely worth a visit!
July 2022 update - Owners of The Phoenix confirmed the hours; the upstairs/main pub closes at 11pm but there is a basement venue open to 3am Fridays and Saturdays so Ive adjusted the review.Nice pub and surprisingly good food. I would recommend it as one of the better options around Oxford Circus.** Old review - Stated open until 3am, closed before midnight
What a great pub! Fun comedy night as well as good drinks, they have AC! It’s a dream in the heat wave
Its a small pub that also has food. Good beer. They serve lunch and dinner. They have seating indoors and a couple small tables outside. The bathrooms are on the main floor, not in the basement like alot of other pubs. Hit or miss whether it will be busy or not. Not far from public transportation.
Best fish and chips ever in the world. If you wanna enjoy a lovely night, great food, amazing staff and lovely vibe. I totally recommend this place!
What can I say.. just wow. Served by the sexiest barman ever with tattoos. If I could give a 10 star review, I would. Best barman ever!
Amazing food, try the chicken burger as well as the corn on the cob ( sounds odd but trust me.they always have a great selection of beer. As well as a particularly chatty ginger Irishman. Worth a visit
Extremely expensive. £17 for a wine and 1 pint and then over £6 for a single rum and coke! The bald bar man was SO rude and took ages to serve the drinks. Bad atmos, rude barman, the bar ladies seemed nice enough but directed by the bald dude who was too busy chatting up teenage girls to manage properly. Wouldn’t visit again and would not recommend to anyone!
Wonderful place. Very good atmosphere and it gets really busy in the evening, i’d get there early if i were you! Pints are on the pricier side but not necessarily outrageous for super-central London, especially nowadays. Food is delicious, made to order, and staff is super friendly. Special shout-out to Beatrice for always being so smilly and super efficient especially in busy times. Will definitely return, definitely the place to be after a looong shift in the busy area of Oxford / Regent Street x
Decent pub with a wide range of ales. Just a bit dark and noisy for me at times (see response from owner belowbut I would go back without hesitation - it was an early Saturday evening after all!
Only used downstairs for Soul venue but it was great.
Tucked away behind John Lewis, it was reasonably busy on a Sunday afternoon. Not a well lit pub, so dont expect to read a book whilst you are having a drink. Prices are reasonable for the area, at £6.50 a pint of cider.
Great night in the Phoenix basement, great big kiss and how do I feel monthly music night and good service at the bar from Beatrice. Coming back again soon for the midweek comedy night!
Had a really fun time at the karaoke night here, bar staff were friendly and tried to cater to requests we had. Food was tasty too.
Fantastic pub - Beya and Lee couldn’t do enough to make us feel welcome. Great service and good range of beers available - definitely worth a visit 💙
Great pub. Friendly service from the lovely Beya. Super range of beers and ciders. Definitely worth a visit!
Great pub; good beer; fabulous staff. The atmosphere here suits all occasions and is the reason we keep coming back.
Really lovely to be at the Phoenix again. ExcellentSelection or wines and beers. He’s got a lovely town vibe to it. Relaxed and comfortable you can drink quite late in the evening and it’s lovely to go there after work.
Extremely friendly staff. We brought our little cute dog in while it was quieter, and the bartender brought the dog out a drink and was just extremely welcoming. Service is a huge thing for me and this is spot on. 5 stars.
Staff are very friendly, the atmosphere is warm and an amazing selection of drinks! Highly recommended!
Amazing staff? Really safe environment. Great food and drink all within a rock bar environment. Excellent vegan and vegetarian options. Well worth it.
A very pleasant pub, a stones throw from Oxford Circus. Helpful staff to help guide you through the intricacies of post plague pub etiquette. A range of keg beers available with Doom Bar the only cask available at the moment although there are several more taps a available. I suspect there are more to come as more custom develops. A most enjoyable visit.
Melt back into the friendly atmosphere and great music if the late 60s early 70s - Take in the sounds of this great era of Led Zeppelin - Deep Purple - Cream - Sabbath etc.
Cosy place to get away from the Oxford Street Christmas crowds. Reasonably priced for London- took advantage of their Retail Therapy Sunday discount. Im still dreaming of my vegetarian sausage and mash, it was that good.
Father’s Day treat from my daughters, they made a good choice, the food was great and plentiful, staff friendly and welcoming.
Perfect for what I wanted on a Sunday evening. Stuck in the centre of London for a training course, as a lone female I wanted a light bite (chicken and chipsand to be left alone to enjoy a pint of cider (caplesand my book. Staff were friendly but beautifully non-intrusive.In the midst of characterless chains and pretentious gimic - filled eateries, I found a home away from home!
Despite being just off the bustle of Oxford Circus this wonderful pub never gets too busy too quickly. If you want to be sure of a table, though, get here early. There’s comedy on downstairs fairly often, though it’s not always possible to pay on the door. The pub features its own entertainment at other times.Staff are laid back and friendly, and the toilets never get too busy. Food is delivered quickly.
