The Pedlar - Pub in Canberra, Australia
The Pedlar in Canberra
Description
Great ambience and decent pub food. Will definitely go back again
Good spot for breakfast, lunch or Friday afters. Live music and good staff. Can get busy and tables booked out
MoreAlways a good times, good vibes and good buys! Great selection on Tap and good food!
MoreGreat food, amazing coffee
The coffee was great. Fritters were a must have. Spicy, salty and fresh!
If you offer a table for lunch you should provide lunch … it’s kind of a no brainer. Very disappointing.
More5 people all had varying breakfasts and all looked beautiful and tasted delish. Shame you cant book.
MoreTrendy, coffee was good, the cheeseburger was tasty, but prices are quite steep for what you get.
MoreFantastic bar, very friendly great snack food for drinkers. Atmosphere is great
Great food! Nice little spot. Cosy and cute.
We had the most incredible bloody mary’s here this morning. So delicious, exactly what the doctor ordered. thank you!!!
MoreGreat food. Great customer service. We will be back.
A great bacon and egg roll was had here, my wife and I were very pleased with everything.
MoreLoved the food, ambience and attentive table service. I had the chicken burger and it was pretty good.
MoreNice place with a good food menu and beer on tap
Good location and drinks, but can have more food options
Fantastic food and coffee!
Fun atmosphere and relaxed setting with yummy cocktail options
Went with a group on Thursday noon with reservations. It was jam packed. We sat outside, it was slightly raining. I ordered The Pedlar Burger. It arrived medium rare and with a generous heap of french fries on the side. The burger was very nice. The meat was slightly charred on the outside, but remained juicy and succulent in the middle. I noticed that there was very little seasoning in the meat itself, not a complain but just an observation. Paid 20$. Id say its definitely worth the 20$. Would love to come here again.
MoreReviews said the chicken Schnittys here were good, so we ventured out to try one.. Worth it! Try the pepper sauce - it’s amazing. It’s a nice quiet spot and the service was great too.
MoreThe food was decent but the service wasnt great. I recently stopped by here for lunch before visiting the War Memorial and asked if I could remove the regular fries from my main and add sweet potatoes fries (which are on the sides menu). The server said no and that I had to order them as a separate side. It just amazes me as to why they would be so inflexible with their menu. Every other pub Ive ever bee to easily swaps sides around and costs the main accordingly. Sweet potato fries cost more and I would expect an additional cost to the main so its not as if I was asking for them at no additional cost. I suspect its because the server wasnt bothered to do the math or otherwise couldnt as he seemed a bit confused when I asked. If youre in the area and feel like a pub meal then give this place a try but definitely not worth going out of your way for.
MoreAbove average cafe/bar/restaurant, good food and drinks. Had the chicken parmigiana, very good. Not overly pricey. Comfortable venue and friendly staff.
MoreIts ok but wouldnt go out of the way for it. Prices a bit steep. Good for office workers around that area because their pockets full grown. Service and ambience good. Burger was ok. My loaded Bloody Mary 🍅🌶️was not that loaded with garnishes ( not that insta worthyHowever, it was loaded with Tabasco, i think its like 10% Tabasco and its a 300ml drink. 🥵 Ill add it to my list of fancy pants drinks including the Pattisez Freakshake, 🍧 deconstructed cocktail from Tipsy Bull🧊🍋🥤 and the Zombie from Highball.🍹
MoreWe are doing a schnitzel tour of Canberra. Pedlar was reviewed as the best in Canberra so we tried it. Great real chicken breast, well crumbed, perfectly cooked, delicious salad and diving chips. It was chicken schnitty heaven. Service was also great and really good environment.
MoreGood meals and smoothies available. Though on this visit (Sunday morningthe breakfast menu finished and customers werent allowed to order from that. One would then think that you could order off the regular lunch menu, but no that was not available yet. It seems a little odd that customers are stuck just having with the drinks menu. Hopefully this is a one off experience.
MoreFriendly service good coffee. It s good selection of beer
After our previous visits here, two years ago, we were very disappointed with our meal today. Very slow service and my karage chicken burger was dry and unappetizing, the three other members of our group were similarly disappointed.Save yourself some dollars and eat elsewhere.
MoreThe food was good and atmosphere also but the staff while friendly brought the score down. My wife who ordered a fresh pressed juice with our meal waited and waited for it we chased it up when our meal arrived and was told it would be here shortly my wife went on to see them half way through our meal and was told that it had been forgotten (the place want very busy eitherit still hadnt arrived by the time we had eaten had to get it as take away in the end which seem to upset the staff
MoreOver several visits I am always let down by the staff, they are never friendly, never happy to see anyone and never bother with pleasantries. The last time I went there for dinner, I ordered 4 things and got “is that it” after each item. This makes you feel like they’re desperate for the transaction and your business to be over. The coffee is okay and the food is typical good cafe eats, the price is reasonable for the area but the customer service is far from good enough.
MoreWe had a great time here on a Friday night about a month ago, so decided to try it again - disappointed! The tone was set off by having to wait too long to be even acknowledged at the front door ( guys, look up and say hello even if you can’t serve us immediately - avoiding eye contact like you did just made me want to turn around and leave). The food was mediocre and there were “ blackboard specials” promised on the website and menu. The food was only mediocre - seemed greasy and not very fresh. There has been a decline in food and service since we last visited - disappointing and will think again about visiting here again.
MoreExcellent lunch menu. Some pub food but lots of lovely curries and Turkish style dishes as well. Good beer selection and great covered outdoor seating.
MoreWent out of their way to accommodate us on a busy Friday night, brought colouring pencils for the kids, extra condiments, outdoor gas heater and took great care of the kids. All round amazing service. Thanks!
MoreOverall good little place, left feeling satisfied. The value for money was on par with most of the other places around that area. I ordered the Southern frisg chicken burger, it took 2 MINUTES TO HIT THE TABLE!! I was very happy with this. The others food came out a couple minutes later. The strawberry milkshake came out and was really good! It was a bit on the smaller side but the quality was great.
MoreBusy office cafe with decent food. I had the Pedlar burger which was minimalist but very tasty. Other people with me seemed to enjoy the vegetarian and vegan options.
MoreFood always great, could do with a kids menu though!
Friendly staff, delicious food and fun atmosphere with nice interior
A frequent visitor, and my top pick for visiting friends for brunch and coffee. Also a great place for work meetings and lunch with colleagues during the working week. Quirky menu, great service and little wait time (regardless of how busyis the reason I keep coming back! Highly recommend the Asian Corn Fritters!
MoreA friend of ours recommended we try The Pedlar.I tried the fritters which were tasty, especially the chilli jam! The spices on the eggs however were a bit too salty for my liking. My boyfriend had the shakshuka which he said was delicious.Great service and good coffee. Will definitely return
MoreWe came here and my friend brought her dog. I liked that they are paw friendly. Staff especially Jack was very helpful. The decor was simple and I liked the vibe. We ordered mussels, schnitzel and chips. Was all fine. I enjoyed my smoothie quite a bit. I also had a hot chocolate and it was particularly chocolatey. Overall would recommend.
MoreHad a beautiful breakfast last weekend. I had the Pedlars Breakfast and it was gorgeous, generous serving and everything cooked to perfection. My other half had an Indian inspired dish of vegetarian fritters, and it was AMAZING, I was almost sorry I hadnt ordered the same.Nice ambiance, quick and accurate service. This place is great and well definitely return.
MoreGood food, average menu, poor service. Not a single staff member smiled or engaged with customers. A waitress ignored me and walked past despite me signalling for service. When having to send a dish back due to an incorrect order fulfillment the staff did not acknowledge the error or apologise. Instead they took my dish away and replaced it without a word being said. It made for a very poor and unwelcoming atmosphere.
MoreHad cheeseburger and chips there today. Was OK but very small amount of chips. My wife had the trout salad and it was literally just lettuce leaves and some fish on top. All that and two coffees for almost $50. Not the best value I think. Dont be back in a hurry.
MoreThis is a fantastic place to go. This is our 2nd ANZAC day family lunch there. These guys have catered for our large groups which include our little ones, many of us 😉, and my parents in their 90s!Nothing seems a problem, the food is delicious and fresh and there are diverse, interesting, vegan and gluten free choices. No matter how busy, the staff are happy and smiling !! Top vote from us 👌
MoreCame for a late work lunch when it was quiet. Staff weren’t particularly interested in serving my group of 4. Menu options are quite limited. Nonetheless food is of a good standard and cafe has a nice casual feel.
MorePretty good pub serving better than standard pub quality drinks and food. Prime location and away from the heavy city traffic. Walking distance from Department of Defence and Lake Burley Griffin
MoreOnly went here for breakfast but the variety was pretty decent. They cook up a mean big breakfast which left me satisfied. The bacon was deliciously smoky and the eggs were suitably runny. They even surprisingly had a Japanese inspired menu, offering okonomoyaki pancakes and Yuzu salmon which while refreshing was on the expensive side. 18 dollars for pancakes while 19 buys a big breakfast seemed a little not worth the coffee was on the acidic side, providing a very tart coffee, while that didnt suit my taste, others may possibly enjoy. Not sure if they rotate beans to provide a cycle of flavours but that was my experience during the two days I was there.
MoreThis is a nice pub/restaurant a little outside of the city. Easily accessible via the local red rapid bus service. The food was tasty, and the staff quite friendly. They currently sell warm mead, which is a lovely winter treat. The menu has the regular pub-style meals like steak and schnitzel.
MoreReasonably priced drinks, great atmosphere
My first meal was the big pedlar breakfast and it was delicious. Good portion size too. I’m heading back to try the Japanese pancakes.....
MoreExcellent food. I had the BBQ Beef Ribs. They were fall off the bone delicious. There is a good selection of local beers. The menu had excellent choices. You order at the bar and find a table inside or out. Parking can be difficult. But go outside work hours and the side streets have plenty of space. Definitely worth many return visits.
