Fashion chain offering discount clothing, footwear and accessories for the whole family.
Very friendly welcome but the place needs a complete overhaul. Drinks were warm, hairs were painted into the table. Pretty grim :(
Ok, Just a simple pub, no longer vegan menu, but going vegan was pretty much the decision which was the death knell of the previous people I think, how many vegans drink alcohol after all ? Now new management just getting used to the place. There are two rooms in effect bar and lounge which is still the old hatch service with bell buttons, not sure if the old upstairs function room is still usable. Not sure what they will do for food as yet. Currently cash only.
Not a great experience. Limited beer selection, drab interior. Some people were stood at the back door smoking and the group I was with could all smell it in the lounge. When I mentioned it to the barman, he just shrugged his shoulders. The serve vegan food but cant comment on that.
Since re opening everything has been done to strip the pub of the character, charm and warmth it previously had. When I visited the furnishings had been ripped up to be replaced with generic chairs, the lighting too bright - which showed that it hadnt been cleaned in a long time - there was but one beer on, an overpriced Harvest Pale and the whole pub had an air of depressive decay and filth.A Nottingham institution treated with utter contempt. Avoid at all costs.
Broken glass in door not bothered to repair, letting a draught in. And the smoking area, rubbish everywhere, dirty, untidy, empty glasses just left. An absolute mess ! Nobody appears to bother about hygeine or a two minute clean. Bad.
Such a shame about the service when the vegan food is so good! Ive tried to eat here multiple times- twice where theyve ran out of food & the next time it took about an hour for the food to arrive.. Could be so nice!
A 100% vegan menu. Most if not all the dishes have a taste punch to offer, if youre unsure what to start with when you see the menu, you wont be wrong to pick the fish and chips though in this case tofu style. Its a vintage/victorian looking place with a bar which is not bad however feels more like a pub rather than a diner/restaurant, plus a terrace dining area for those warmer days.
Great idea, a proper pub in a city centre with a niche offering of being purely vegan. Done well this could be so successful. The welcome was definitely not warm and the quinoa bun I looked forward to trying was clearly just a standard burger bun. When I asked about it the bar person who was clearly having an off day just said m not sure. Could do with some TLC and some enthusiastic staff .Chips were very nice though.
Traditional pub grub, but all vegan. Excellent!
Good, honest, British pub...just so happens to do vegan food.Great music..awesome atmosphere..fantastic prices.10/10
THIS IS A TRADITIONAL BRITISH PUB that happens to serve vegan food.It is not a trendy gastro pub!Looking for a proper traditional British pub experience that is also suitable for vegans?Well you have found the right place!Great music and low enough that you can have a conversation with your friends and other patrons. The locals are welcoming enough to speak to any person who ventured here alone.Dont expect restaurant service and restaurant food, like I say this feels and tastes just like a good ol fashioned pub!LOVE LOVE LOVE
Food was brilliant! The only thing I find odd is that not all the beers are vegan, disappointed that they didnt have any vegan ales either. Would be great to go to a pub and have vegan ales on tap. Only thing stopping me give the Peacock five stars!
Excellent little pub lovely decor good environment and decent beer is the pub with history and a modern side continuing to innovate by serving a vegan menu well worth the visit
Sadly it has really gone down hill here, which is such as shame because it used to be one of my favourite vegan places. Now they only do a small selection of sandwiches which are very sub-par, and worse of all, they charge for tap water, even when you have purchased a meal! Im pretty sure that is illegal as the premises serves alcohol! When questioned about this a staff member responded that the 30p charge was for Ice, lemon and service. Really Peacock? That is a new low.
This pub has amazing vegan food. Nice little atmosphere. Only down side is the time it takes to get food. But it’s worth the wait!
A fully vegan pub is a rare thing to find and this place didnt disappoint. We visited mid-afternoon and it was quiet but enjoyable as the music playing was very different and interesting. The decor in the main bar is nice but a little tired as the toilets were too, my only reason for not giving five stars. Food was brilliant. The tofu-fish was fantastic, perfect in fact. The leek and mushroom pie was very tasty and lovely pastry. Good portion sizes and reasonably priced. We also got to try the aubergine and courgette cake which was absolutely delicious, just like carrot cake. Will definitely be back next time in Nottingham. Not all drinks are vegan but staff know which are/arent so ask first.
Great to get the food we wanted. Always quality dishes if they are proper vegan. Staff do their utmost. Not the imitation meat that was initially the only thing left.Only serving food till 8pm is something people arent aware of,and isnt popular.
First vegan Sunday dinner at The Peacock (been eating here for a while and all food is veganand it was lush. I had the pork and apple Wellington, which has a gorgeous pastry and the gravy they use for the dinners is delicious. The roast potatoes would have been a little softer to suit my preference, but they were still nice. Nice bit of veg too.Great Sunday roast!
Nice Atmosphere, very friendly staff with great music playing. Food is Vegan and from what I can understand is very high quality. Was a little cold though and the toilets are Retro!?
First visit was on a Sunday. I was really craving a roast and really couldnt be bothered to cook myself. Ordered the pork Wellington, the pastry was almost black on top from being over cooked but the rest was nice. second time I went in and ordered the mac and cheese (my favourite dish everit came with the most deliciously garlicy bread but the dish was dry and not very saucy or tasty.
Nice cosy pub with good selection of beers. The vegan food is excellent! Can recommend food to even non-vegans like myself! Decent music played from vinyl lps.
Fantastic food, but the service was patchy. The man I assume to be the manager behaved as though hed rather the pub was empty so he wouldnt have to deal with customers. The young girl who took our orders and served the table was great though. Long wait for the food
One of the nicer, quieter pubs in town. Landlord has a decent selection of vinyl records that arent played too loud. Theres an upstairs decking area and a small smoking area just by the mens toilets. The state of the toilets is why Im not giving it 5 stars. Theyve improved somewhat but theyre still renowned for being pretty horrendous. I have no confidence they are cleaned daily. Other than that its the perfect place to go for a quiet one with a couple of mates.
All 100% vegan food and friendly staff, the chilli corn dog was amazing, table could have done with a wipe but great service overall would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a place to eat
Its okay love that is a vegan pub, brilliant for those of use that have dietary requirements. Used to love the options off the old menu however the meal I chose off the set menu was nice (was just unhappy to go get something and things changed). No baby changing facilities, toilets are cold not very clean or stocked well.It defiantly needs a revamp and a deep clean. Tables are sticky and never clean when I go so I have to ask to wipe again or do myself.Coffee is aweful. Range of cold drinks and spirits are good. Deserts arnt always in stock for whats up. On a plus the Staff are very friendly and welcoming and are always willing to help. Compliments to the chefs. However food takes too long from ordering to come out and when ordering desert it takes longer than the food
Food is tasty and all vegan. Though service is very slow and staff usually very slow to clear plates from empty tables. Generally appears to be understaffed most of the time.
The food is great but they need to clean the place up. Tables dont seem to get wiped between customers. The ladies toilets are a disgrace. Lots of dust and dirt around. I only hope the kitchen is kept cleaner. Very off putting and a shame because its a lovely old pub and could be made into something really special with a bit of thought and a good cleaner. Also wasnt happy that my coke came out of a plastic bottle and was flat as anything.
Good place to visit on a Sunday for lunch. Simple menu of a mock meat with all the trimmings. The battered sausages were lovely although they seem to have stopped doing them now.
Great pub, great atmosphere and an all vegan menu!!
A nice, traditional boozer which serves veggie food. I would prefer a wider range of food, but their (tofufish and chips and Seitain ribs are pretty good. Pretty, pretty good.
I ate here last night with my husband. Had to wait nearly an hour for the food but it was worth it. Piping hot and delicious. I am hoping to return here on Monday with my daughter. Lovely atmosphere and the staff were obliging, its nice to find somewhere that does tasty vegan food without having to ask about the ingredients
Since finding out that their menu is entirely vegan I have been here twice (and that was just over a week ago!). The atmosphere is great, but it can get busy and the first time I went with my boyfriend for dinner, the seating situation was less than optimal, but it soon emptied a little and we managed to move to a nicer seat. The food is incredible, portion sizes are generous and the quality is superb. The pricing is reasonable for the amount of food you get, and I would highly recommend eating here.
The food took a while to arrive but that was probably because a large group of people had ordered just before us. But my vegan "fish" and chips with mushy peas was worth the wait!
Awesome (veganpub grub, good drink selection, friendly staff and a really chilled atmosphere
Great place. We ordered a ton of food to try several vegan items. Didnt get to eat much because when people hear your American accent they want to talk and ask questions. What I did try was delicious. The portabella burger was great.
This is an absolute Gem of a place for like minded vegans to come and be enchanted by the days of yesteryear and try some of the best vegan dishes Ive personally encountered throughout my world travels. If you want Great, hearty and traditionally served 100% vegan food then look no further...This is the place to try! Dont leave without trying a slice of cake of the day! You will have to experience it to understand.Staff are knowledgeable and super friendly relaxed and attentive. There are two rooms to eat in...the bar area and the lounge; goto the lounge to absorb the history and feel the atmosphere of days gone by!.. truly enthralling!🦄☀️to all those that do come here...Enjoy!
Appearances can be deceiving. Its a bit run down and in need of some refurb. But wipe off the drab veneer and you have a hidden gem. Excellent beer choices. Delicious food -all vegan, but your non-veggies wouldnt notice. Very well priced.
Friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere, high standard of decor. Good menu choices with the added bonus of it all being 100% vegan.. From fish and chips to the BBQ Ribs (highly recommend). Even the heartiest meat eaters would be pleasantly surprised /satisfied.
Amazing Vegan Menu. Food is gorgeous and its great quality and value for money. Staff are friendly and the environment is calm.
Fishy tasting fish, chips and mushy peas. 😅how they do it nobody knows but very moreish and yummy. Gorgeous pub full of decent peeps. Nice decor and lovely server. Great vinyl choice for an urban gourmet such as myself😆. Safe for solo diners and ladies, so a big plus for me. Vegan hangouts are usually lovely though. X.
100% vegan menu and everytime Ive been the food has been very, very good. Service can be a bit erratic but the food is great so swings and roundabouts.
Absolutely delicious food! I came here for my birthday and had a wonderful time. The sticky toffee pudding with ice cream is to die for, and everyone enjoyed their meals. The soft drink choices were quite limited though, and the place could do with a bit of a spruce up (for example, none of the ladies toilets locked, one of them didnt have a working light and was pretty dirty, and the taps either sprayed up or wouldnt stay on for longer than about 3 seconds). Also, even though we arrived less than 2 hours after it opened, theyd already run out of quite a few things, which was a shame, though a sign of just how popular this place is! Despite its flaws, everyone still had a great time, and Ill definitely be back!
100% Vegan kitchen!!!!Fantastic variety of good pub food that has been veganised! Traditional styled pub decor with quirky features, basic toilets, great atmosphere :-)
First fully vegan pub in Nottingham. So much choice on the menu, From British classics to snacks and deserts galore! Staff are friendly and helpful , and the building has a nice bit of character about it too.
Went mid-week lunchtime, so not too busy. Service was quick and friendly, and it was great to be able to choose from so many pub classics made vegetarian, I was spoilt for choice. The batter on the "fish" was spot-on: perfectly light, golden and crispy! The portions were huge too, we didnt have room for pudding.
Cleaner than it used to get with an ace beverage selection however the new vegan menu really lets the place down, if youre going to do vegan food dont immitate rubbish meat dishes
Great food, friendly staff. Good prices too! Loved it so much we went two days in a row and going back again tomorrow (were only in nottingham for 4 days so making the most of it)
I loved it here! Amazing atmosphere, gorgeous vegan food and brilliant service. Definitely recommend 😊👍
The bar was good although the food was good vegan food when it turned up, it took over an hour and a half. The pub could have definately benefited from a deep cleanExtremely cheap so I guess you get what you pay for.
Had roast lamb Sunday lunch, The lamb was perfect, as was the 10 different types of veg. The home made Yorkshire pudding was superb. The home made sausage was also really good. I was driving so could only have a half pint, but it was really good. I have never had a better value meal anywhere, so at £5.75 I would recommend it toanyone. The only down side was that I left my mobile phone in the pub and didnt realise until I got home to Manchester.
