We were at The Parkmore for a Dine&Spa evening (so cannot comment on some of the hotel facilities - other than its been in business for at least 40 years so must be doing something right). The meal was delicious and exceeded expectations; the decor of the restaurant is plush and inviting for a quiet and relaxing meal - however this was marredby a group of 5/6 exuberant people arriving for a drink but not eating; could they have gone to one of the bar areas instead?Overall the service was good, surroundings are pleasant, meal was very good. The Hideaway Spa is OK - not a Spa to the standards of others in the area, that said Ive been plenty of times and know what to expect there and would not hesitate Im going again.

Not too bad a hotel. Rooms were nice and clean/comfortable. Very noisy doors and floorboards.Breakfast wasnt great. I had the continental option due to early start all week. Not a great selection. Coffee wasnt great and toaster wasnt working very well. Could do with some pastries and more cereal selection.Staff were very nice.Gym was a good extra with top quality equipment.

Ive edited my review due to the exceptionally rude comment at the end from Best Western, this was really rude. We, unfortunately, stayed for a wedding from Friday-Sunday in August and it was one of the worse hotels we have ever stayed in. We never ask to switch rooms but we did here. The room was far too hot and everyone else had the same opinion in the party. Unfortunately there were no other rooms.Shocking there is no aircon since competitors chain hotels like premier inn or the hilton nearby, this was the best western so I was surpised this was not the same as competitors, this was my first and only time stopping at this chain hotel. We read the reviews and were nervous about stopping, they are all true it is really run down hotel. The room was so bad and hot, it was outdated, no air con, window did not open, marked walls, extractor did not work in the bathroom so you were slipping over the floor with condensation from a shower, I could have broke my neck, leg, hip etc. Good job we bought our own fan. When my husband closed the door the shower moved by itself and went everywhere whilst I was in it, not great.Only the ceremony room and the wedding reception room had aircon. The rest of the hotel was a furnace, it was far too hot for a wedding. There were no drinks served for children or those who did not want to drink alcohol like a number of people on my table, this was requested when picking your menu options months before the wedding so I cannot understand why the hotel has pretended this was not paid for, especially since water is free... Only wine was provided with the meal. We had to get our own water and drinks from the bar. Non-alcoholic drinks were only served for the speeches.Breakfast was OK but limited selection of cereal, yogurt and toast for what you paid for the room. The white toast was so hard I thought I would break my teeth. The cooked breakfast range was larger, but the bacon again was really hard not sure if it was cooked and left on a hot plate. The staff were really hard working though and friendly, we felt sorry for them shifting furniture from the ceremony to the reception room in a heatwave. The wedding breakfast food was good. The pool was freezing cold and small.Plenty of parking but for the price we paid rivals like premier inn and hilton are cheaper with aircon and better rooms. Our room was so bad and old fashioned we would never stay at a best western again, they clearly do not care about their guests and want to get the most profit out of all the rooms since they know people will stop for the wedding and pay anything. They have 3 weddings a week these rooms should be fantastic. Not happy they tried to pretend they were independent and not a chain hotel so cannot upgrade all the rooms. Finally, the staff during check in did not mention to us if you have a mobile do not keep it close to the key card which wipes it, happened to us and the in-laws. Really just mention it if it is that common. Really annoying.

I personally enjoyed this hotel. I was at a training course. The staff helped me when I arrived early and when I checked out at start of the day they looked after my stuff. Clean rooms, pleasant food, average priced beer and friendly helpful staff. Would recommend and come back myself .

Beautiful old building but modernized inside needed .ore staff in restaurant food gorgeous dont put pepper on chips it is a personal choice and slightly ruined our meal. We had our wedding there 33 years ago I preferred the old decor to the new as I find floor boards and laminate floors very cold and noisy and makes the place e look unfinished

Absolutely disgusted in the way they have treated Amy who does the fitness classes, email this evening to say its her last session no consideration to Amy or her clients. I have been going for quite some time now and she is an excellent coach, classes are friendly and your made to feel very welcome. I was going to get a membership but the way this management have treated her Im not bothering if they treat people like that.

Only visited to attend Amys fitness classes a couple of times a week but I hear she has moved onwards and upwards. I did consider a membership but the pools not very big and the place looks like its straight out of the 80s. Not for me thanks. I dont think it will survive another recession.

What an awful place this is! I attend only for fitness classes with an amazing young woman called Amy Graham. With very short notice some idiot has terminated her classes as a contracted fitness instructor with no regard for her, or her clients. Amy is a qualified PT instructor and has a wealth of experience, she does amazing fun and safe classes. Not only have they destroyed her livelihood, but theyve also decimated the fitness journey of many people who, for some, have had to overcome mental and physical obstacles, prior to starting on their fitness journey.Whoever made this decision ought to hang their head in shame. I will make sure NEVER to recommend this place to anyone.

So beautiful inside the Parkmore hotel. My Sister, Niece and myself went to the Spa day to celebrate my sisters birthday. The pool was beautiful and warm to step into and the hot tub was perfect. The only thing that let it down was the 2 course meal, we had asked for afternoon tea but that wasnt available but the 2 course meal was, they asked us to wait until they were ready to open the dining room because we were 5 minutes early. When we were invited in to the dining room it was beautiful with flowers decorating the ceiling, and thats where it went down hill from there the floor was a disgrace with food all under each table, soup spillages, bits of half eaten chips, crumbs... I dont know when it was last cleaned or swept! The 2 course meal was chinese cuisine and we are not lovers of chinese food. The day was disappointing.

We had a party in one of the hire rooms. I didnt stay in hotel so cant comment on those. Service for the party was good, and the food was good also. Main issue was they double booked us, and we were the ones who had to change. Not ideal, but it all worked out well. We all really enjoyed it. 😉

We had booked the suite so we could have a sofa to sit on as part of a mini birthday gig for my 83 year old mother. What we hadnt checked was the access. The room was on the first floor but there is no lift. We had forgot to ask as most hotels have a lift. To be fair, the hotel staff sorted out another room and we went into Yarm instead. The location is great and the spa is relaxing if its not too busy. Try to book the spa in advance to ensure you can get in.Breakfast is lovely and I suspect that the service may be better if you get down a bit earlier. The rooms look old fashioned but are clean. My bed was very comfortable and I slept well. The bathroom was of a good standard.Reception booked our taxi into Yarm and it arrived within 5 minutes. Its a 3☆ hotel and I think it more than delivers at 3☆ level.

Went for Spa and dine, with Afternoon tea for two. We didnt stay in the hotel just visited.Spa area is tired and could do with refreshing, it was warm, steamroom very hot and dark no lights, not even twinkle ones, no warning about the raised step into steam and sauna. Sauna is small and not as hot as the steam room. The hydro pool had tiles missing and although there was a notice up, once bubbles going, you couldnt see the missing tiles! Changing cubicles very small, shower was lovely and warm. We had to take own towels, Robe and padlock for locker. Which is unusual as most spas provide towels/robes.Afternoon Tea in the purple peacock was lovely and delicious. Service was good.

Nice venue after its facelift. We went into the bar for a drink and it has a good selection of drinks available. The only thing missing was staff to serve the drinks! We waited 20 mins and nobody available, 4 other customers in the queue as well and nobody was getting served. Nobody on reception either. One guy commented that he couldn’t wait to get out of the hotel. Staff make a hotel or bar and they weren’t visible. Won’t be any rush to go back soon.

Theres no temperature control in the room and it was uncomfortably hot. Opening the window doesnt help due to the traffic noise. Add in noise all through the night and a ridiculously small room (the bed was pushed against the walland it amounted to a terrible couple of nights. I wont stay here ever again.

We booked Christmas lunch for 9 of us and we were extremely disappointed, when our mains arrived they were that small we actually thought they were childrens portions!"The turkey dinner with all the trimmings" consisted of 3 of the following; roast potatoes, carrot batons, parsnips and a teaspoon of red cabbage, with 2 slices of turkey, a pig blanket and a slice of stuffing.Half an hour wait at the bar and we were the first in the queue our starters had been served. We left hungry and totally unimpressed!

Lovely hotel to stay at if you would just like to chill out and relax. The room was lovely and comfortable, not small, plenty of space and a TV. The bathroom had a bath, shower and sink. The bath could have been a bit wider, its seemed a bit too narrow. The pool area was great, you can have a nice swim anduse the hot tub, steam room, sauna and massage jet pool. There is also a gym and classes there. The Purple Peacock bar and restaurant serve a good menu and drinks in there, and the food that we had was lovely. If you would like to have a trip out, you can walk, drive or catch a bus in to Yarm for food, drink and shops. Overall, The Parkmore Hotel is a place we will be staying at again, and we would recommend it to anyone who would just like a night away to relax.

Too much noise from doors closing and traffic plus trains and the sound of a boiler. Breakfast poor. Leathery, over cooked bacon hours old. Dry sausage, undercooked fried eggs topped off with greasy hash brown and horrible cuppa tea. Lovely girl in the restaurant. No t.v.. cancelled 3rd night due to lack of sleep. Only got a part refund despite checking out early. Room service never answered and I had to ring via an outside line. Clean rooms but tired. Sadly I will never stop here again despite my husband and I being Best Western loyalty customers. Also the outside area needs sweeping as I noticed face coverings and litter in the leaves piled near the restaurant

Absolutely wanted to rate this hotel as 5* (not a 5* hotel but as a great budget hotel). Really nice staff, EV charger, great water pressure in the shower, comfortable rooms and outstanding gym area (seriously, one of the best Ive used). Sadly however, let down by a couple of things. First, the EV charger trips out every 15 mins or so, which makes it a bit pointless, and a real shame. Secondly, and much more importantly, on the Saturday night of our stay there was an event in the bar area that was so loud the terrible 90s pop music could be heard clear as a bell in the rooms. Sleep was a complete non-starter and it ended at 11.30. I get that everybody is trying to make up for lost revenue, but I dont think this is how to do it, I certainly wouldnt stay again just for this reason.

Good location, a 30 minute walk into Yarm or 5 minute taxi but quite difficult to get a taxi from the hotel unless ordered at least an hour in advance. Good bar and down stairs area. The rooms are tired and small for the price, but generally clean. Mattress uncomfortable and not great duvet or pillows but the covers were okay. Really poorly soundproofed, you can hear noise constantly from other rooms, corridors and doors shutting and noise from the outside garden area. Obviously suffering staff wise, because of covid I expect and it took ages to be seen on check-in, but other wise the staff were helpful and fairly cheerful. We would stay again but only if we had a refurbished room (I assume there are some as the pictures on the website are slightly misleadingor if the rate was cheaper.

Only stayed for 1 night, rooms were considerably poor. We had to move rooms as the smell in the initial room was disgusting, carpets were filthy and looked like the placed hadnt been updated since the 80s. Not great for quite a pricy room. 2nd room was marginally better, wallpaper hanging off the wall, headboard not even attached and again very very dated. I unfortunately would not return.

First off, they said they only had single rooms where it was clear online they had doubles. They didnt take any notice to our platinum membership and upgrade us to anything better. The rooms where dated and the pillows average. They had a spa/swimming area which we didnt bother with but could have been alright... and after settling up the night before they asked us to pay for more the beers in the morning which had already been paid. Didnt bother arguing with it doubt will be staying staying. Ta

My room wasnt great and would benefit from some TLC but it was clean and perfectly okay for me.The hotel staff were awesome from the bar/reception, cleaners, guys/girls in the restaurant for breakfast and evening meal and in the gym/pool area.Great food for breakfast and evening meal both reasonably priced. The gym has recently been refurbished and is state of the art with a good selection of both aerobic machines and free weights. Pool, steam, sauna and jet pool all worth a visit.

My wife and I came here on valentines day and loved every moment of it. Staff were friendly and the room we had was beautiful - one of the suites. Extremely clean and modern room. Breakfast was lovely and catered well for vegetarians. We also stayed for afternoon tea after our stay and was impressed. Had so much we asked for a box to take the cakes back. Would recommend staying at the Parkmore. Thank you for such a lovely stay.
