Smart pub upstairs, stylish restaurant serving Modern British fare below, plus an all-weather patio.
Had a great time at the park view today, lovely bartender called Theo. Great laugh.
We were delighted to discover The Park View when we moved to Preston Park and have visited a number of times since. Lovely ambiance with a great variety of food and drinks, plus a fab beer garden. The staff are all super friendly, efficient and helpful. I can’t remember all of their names but Theo and Freya were particularly outstanding on our most recent visit. Thank you guys 🙏! We’ll be back again very soon!!!
Great service excellent bartender named kit really enjoyed myself
Fantastic setting, attentive and friendly staff, but food was mediocre. Mixed feelings about the Park View. Its a great venue and well worth a visit. Had the belly pork for dinner. Decent portion but was lacking something. Cant fault the staff. The service at the bar was quick and efficient. A good experience overall. Just a little disappointed with the pork.
Lovely setting, the staff were fab (freya specifically was so helpful and a joy served by)
Great pub, friendly service (especially our bartender Freya!great food and drinks 🍺 Highly recommend 👌
lovely pub would defo reccomend!!!! excellent food the chef (kitwas very kind when we asked to change our order last minute😬, and the bar tender (jacobwas very lovely and attentive!
Fantastic service form Theo and Talia. Theo singing was the best part. Great pub
Great pub with amazing beer garden. staff were really nice, Talia in particular.
best pub in the south east. Excellent staff, lovely drafts and great pie. top marks to the gent who served me (think his name is kit)
Great Roast and massive portions too!
Wonderful food and service, lovely place that will definitely be going back too, also very dog friendly
£11 for a nourish bowl? Think it consisted of dry leaves, some sort of unidentified cheese and pulses... absolutely horrendous waste of money, had to go to the chippy afterwards to fill me up. Seriously, dont bother. Dont even think about bothering
Its a nice pub in great area for gay pride! The food was quite lacking on the day I went but it doesnt mean it was always like that & they do Table service too with a QR code, so definitely go if you get a chance. Drinks were great!
Booked a table for dinner. Even called up and said we booked a table for 8:30 for dinner and asked to come at 8 and they said yes. Get there and the kitchen is closed because of a party. Never mentioned on the booking, never mentioned on the TWO times I called up. Zero apologies from the staff just a shrug of the shoulder and said we should just get drinks instead. Had family members down for the evening and a ruined dinner. It’s a Saturday night and everywhere fully booked. Never coming back thanks.
What a seroiusly dreadful experience. Table booked for 7pm on a Thursday night for 10 people. Table reserved. Menus displayed. Drinks ordered. Lots of faffing about changing barels etc. Drinks arrive.....eventually. Guests choose from menu. Choices not available. Guests choose alternatives from menu. Also not available. Turns out there is no food. Guests leave to seek alternative venu with drinks and food. I stayed behind to ask the manager why there was no food. He tells me that the previous guests ate it all! They must have been pretty hungry to eat the entire nights food by 7.15!! I asked the manager why nobody had contacted us to let us know that there was no food. He shrugged his shoulders and walked away. Time for new management I think/hope. Until such time, I would recommend avoiding this poorly run establishment.
Enjoyed the ales and baked Camembert starter to share. We had 4 of the roasts (chicken, pork, sirloin, and nut). On all but the nut roast the Yorkshire puddings were rock hard/dried to a crisp. Otherwise tasty.
This was a last minute find.It was absolutely deliciousCannot fault one bit.The seafood Linguine I had was the best I’ve EVER tasted, And I’ve had great Italian ones in the past. All 3 of us really enjoyed our food.We will be 100% coming back. And great service & friendly.
I really liked this pub. Plenty of outdoor seating and Pimms on the go. Lovely. I had a steak pie and mash as a late lunch and it went down a treat. Good range on the menu and you could order from your phone or the bar and it didnt take too long. Nicely decorated and friendly, efficient staff.
I think they must be following a step-by-step guide in how to make potential customers feel unwelcome and lose business! 10 minutes before opening to not allow people to look at a menu and practically herd them off the premises! Snide attitude and expensive food judging from the glance I snuck from the menu.
For such a great location and nice building the food has always disappointing for at least the last 10 years. Have returned time and time again to see if new teams in place do any better but it never imroves. Customer service always pretty poor and now its all done via an app they barely even acknowledge you.
Had a lovely experience at The Park View, popped in for a drink with a friend and ended up staying for a good few more, the staff were lovely, food surprised me with the quality and presentation. Would and will definitely come back.
Great pub would recommend to others. Good food we enjoyed the nachos and the service was awesome. Layla served me and was extremely helpful. Thank you
Lovely pub, the staff whenever Im there have consistently been lovely and friendly. The food, especially the Mac and Cheese and halloumi fries are also always delicious.Love this pub, always a great time.
My experience at the park view was great, the service there was quick and the food tasted great. Staff members Jacob and Kit were lovely. Will deffo be there again
Really like this pub, friendly staff, nice decor although the portions of chips are far too small! Surely for £4.50 you should get more than a handful of chips. Other than that, really top place
I would score this pub 15 out of 10. Excellent staff, well priced beers , superb food and service. An absolute joy.
lovely pub, would definitely recommend, lovely staff, was served by the kind bar staff called layla and lay they were so polite and welcoming, great atmosphere
As always friendly reliable staff, with a good selection of ales, lagers and top shelf drinks. Good place to pop into for a drink or meal.
Excellent service. Friendly helpful staff and lovely atmosphere in pub. Can’t be beaten.
Very disappointed went for a birthday meal on Wednesday evening with 2 friends after eating here for many years. I had the chicken schnitzel and it was tasteless, the rocket and tomato salad was more like a garnish and for £14 was not worth the wait. My friends had the fish and chips and although theirs was better the portion of chips was at least half of previous meals I have had. We did complain at the time but just got a shrug so very disappointing indeed.
I feel the time has come for some constructive criticism… the Park View could be a great pub but is consistently let down by its food. Great selection of beer but please hire a decent chef and use ingredients equal to the level of your prices (no more frozen masquerading as fresh, please).I’ve read previous reviews and found plenty of similar comments, with a response from the owners that they’re always looking to improve… this is our local pub and they aren’t/haven’t. We won’t be eating here again. The third star is for the beer and staff, otherwise it would’ve been 2.
Absolutely love this place! Came in on Monday and was served by a lady called Faye (we think that’s the right nameand she just went the extra mile for us. Great food, good beer selection and rly great staff! Thanks Park View!
The quiz is brilliant! Thursday night magic, lovely man. Food is OK, nothing major to write home about but pretty tasty. A lovely atmosphere.
Great venue, selection of drinks and staff, but the food is really weatherspoons standard. The most expensive item on the menu (steakwas really poor and the triple cooked chips are just oven chips. Shame! Otherwise beautiful venue
Had a great Friday night meal at The Park View. There was a very long delay in getting puddings served but we were in no hurry. Find delicious.
Lovely atmosphere and beautiful place! We had a lovely time with friends yesterday! Some food options not available.
We hired The Park View pub to do our mums celebration of life (wakeyesterday 30th April. I cant express how helpful, kind and great the staff were, they turned a very challenging day into a happy, relaxed and fantastic day. The food was incredible and so much of it we all agreed it was worth every penny and more. We were lucky enough to meet the manager Huw who was absolutely lovely. I really appreciate everything you guys done and we cant praise you all enough, please thank the chef for us as I didnt get to see him personally. Thanks for making mums day go so well.
Friendly and helpful staff. Nice interior and lovely menu. They were out of quite a few of the vegetarian options though and the triple cooked chips I ordered werent as hot or crispy as I would have expected. It was a bit busy though. The portion size was I guess adequate for a side dish.
Fantastic outside seating. Excellent inside. Good range of beers. Great staff. Lovely food. Hard to see how they could improve
We hoped to have a lovely family lunch here on Good Friday. Unfortunately it was anything but. We waited an hour and a half for our food and when it finally arrived there wasn’t so much as an apology for the wait. Just a “we’re very busy”. Terrible customer service. We will most definitely not be back for food and would recommend others avoid it!
Great location, lovely decor, clean but we had to chase food order and had very indifferent response from the staff, 2 hours+ after ordering online prepaid, we got our meal. No apology, no reasonable excuse. Might go back for a drink but not for food or the service.
Popped in for lunch and a pint. The cheeseburger was amazing! Great sized garden, and as it was sunny, it was even better. The staff were friendly and the beer was pretty cheap.
This has been our nearest pub for a number of years, it has always been ok, but excelled tonight. The beer was kept well and the food was really tasty and reasonably priced. Well done and would come back again on this experience.
It is a really nice place staff wonderful went there for Christmas day food excellent (shame some other customers didnt think of other .but not staffs fault)
Christmas Dinner ruined by the fact the lamb was served rare and bleeding and my pregnant daughter couldnt eat it, and there was no mint sauce for the people the did tackle it, the roast potatoes were cooked and re heated even though we were almost first to be served, the cheese was lovely but the biscuits were disgustingly dry and no butter or cutlery served, then to add insult to injury our drink bill came to £35 with a £35 table charge we were only drinking soft drinks due to being drivers, having paid £75 a head then to be charged an extra £4 for the smallest ever blob of ice cream for my granddaughter we were all gobsmacked, the cappuccino was so strong it was undrinkable, Oh and the almond macaroons were coconut.....sorry Park View you messed up !!!!The two young men that served our table were very nice.
Solid drinks and food. Their outside space is the best thing about this pub. Huge garden out front and you can order via phone and they bring the food to you. Great for these COVID times. I had usually have the veggie burger - very good.
Really wish there was a 3.5 or even a 3.75 option because after trying The Park View for lunch today it wasnt bad and I would go back but it was amazing. I had the "crispy" duck salad, which wasnt crispy enough and it had more watermelon that actual greens and the actual salad required a bit of cutting. My husband had the burger with sweet potato fries and they seemed good. I tried the fries and they could have used some salt and been a bit crispier. The atmosphere is fantastic and location is great so I would love to come back and try other things on the menu. Overall a nice pub lunch for those on the outskirts of Brighton.
Nice pub. Beer choice is adequate. Lots of indoor space. Lots of outdoor space. The only letdown is the food really in my opinion, its ok but could be a lot better. Nice and relaxed most of the time. Kid friendly. Nice staff. Pet friendly.Suggestions, there so much room, they should put live music on. And maybe a pool table? Tablefootball?
Recommended by friends and yes, it was good. Delicious fish cakes on a tasty fish bouillabaisse. Non carne soup was thick and lush. Quite filling for what appeared to be a smallish bowl. Excellent food. Large place with upstairs and downstairs and divided up, so that it didnt seem too big. You can hire out the downstairs with a private bar too.
