Pancakes, omelets & other classic American breakfast dishes are served at this homey institution.
First place we had breakfast when we arrived on town. Really enjoyed the old school atmosphere. Reminded me of the early 60s. Good food and service!
Popular restaurant. At 1000, It was cold and snowing. People were outside waiting to get inside to eat. (Masks requiredThe staff had free coffee available for those standing in the cold. The wait was around 30 min. Their pancakes are the size of dinner plates. The bacon was extra crispy and sliced thick. The grits were creamy. The apple butter fresh and was delicious. The syrup for the pancakes had been warmed and the butter whipped for easy spreading. The wait staff were friendly and made us feel welcome. We enjoyed our breakfast and recommend, The Pancake Shop. t.
We had a bad experience with this restaurant, we waited for 2 hours before our food was served. We were seated pretty quick but there’s only 1 waitress taking all orders & she forgot our order. The tables around us had 2 rounds of customers, they all checked out & our food still was not served. Waitress knew she forgot our order & she said she asked the kitchen to prioritize. Unfortunately, after she told us that, we waited another good 20 minutes before the food was served. There’s only 3 of us so pretty small party. Waitress did not have the initiative to do something after that mess up she made. When we checked out we told the cashier about the experience she just said very unusual! Suggestion - if there’s a mess up that’s caused by the staff - do something, offer discount of whatever to make your customer feel a little bit better. The fact that the waitress acknowledge her mistake - it’s clear that she messed up. And because of that - it’s a poor service overall. We gave them a chance to do something & complained to other staff but no action. I would not recommend this restuarant.
The pancakes are amazing! They are the size of the plate! The French toast is deep fried! The syrup is nice and warm. What I thought was cream cheese, was actually soft , cream, butter! The butter spread very nice! Service was good. The place is small and have limited seating, it is worth the wait!
About a 20 minute wait that went by fast. We waited on a bench. They had drinks available to those outside. We had pancakes, omelet, toast, bacon and coffee came to $35.00. Five star plus. Very enjoyable meal. Highly recommend
A friend and I were road tripping and spent a couple nights near Bathhouse Row. We did breakfast and coffee at The Pancake Shop. They treated and seated us lickety split and our coffee and breakfast came out quick. The veggie omelet was fresh and flavorful as was the blueberry pancake - one is the size of a dinner plate. Coffee was bold and hot, just the way I like it. The wait staff were amazing and professional and completely knowledgeable and quick. Customer service here was unmatched. This place must be tried if you’re visiting in Hot Springs.
On a family trip in Hot Springs and the Pancake Shop came up as one of the best breakfast spots in town. We stopped in and it did not disappoint. First off the service was great. Our waitress Rachel was amazing. So friendly, made great recommendations, checked on us often, just an overall wonderful person. The food was delicious, fresh, tastes like home cooking and the Coffee OMG!! I lovee a good cup of coffee and it was so good we even asked if they sold it by the bag. Unfortunately they didnt but its worth taking a brewed cup to go. Pancakes and French toast delicious. Dont forget to try their local made sausage and the chocolate milk really is best in the world Great breakfast spot. Worth waiting for your table.
1 pancake + the 1 bacon, 2 eggs and the omlete + 1 pancake..Delicious!!! Totally worth the wait that Im sure you will see outside. Our server was amazing!
This place is awesome! The best pancakes and sausage ever . The staff is awesome also but 1 sticks out the most. Robert thank you for getting us in and seated timely manner. And the place you recommend for dinner was amazing!
Great food and great service!! Definitely recommend to have breakfast here!! Well done!
Fresh squeezed orange juice. Apple pancakes from scratch. Sausage is local sourced. All tasted amazing. The service was fast and friendly.
We tried the Pancake Shop randomly while we were in town for work. From this visit this is probably one of my top 5 favorite places to dine. The place was packed but we waited a few minutes only because they were seating two other guests in front of us. We were immediately taken care of and had the hardest time choosing what to order. We ended up ordering a variety of items and even though every table was taken, the food came fast, hot and accurate. The service was one of the best Ive ever received. This place will be a requirement to go to every time Im in Hot Springs now.
What a cute quaint place to have breakfast. The food is fresh and sourced locally. Serving size is more than enough. Pancakes are the size of the plate. The waitress we had was fantastic. If you are in Hot Springs you need to check it out.
I am from Louisiana and Ive heard from several people that this place was good, so I had to stop in on my visit to Hot Springs, when we arrived there was no question that this place had to be good because of the line of people outside waiting to get in. My husband and I both ordered the pancakes and at first thought, was pancakes 🥞 are pancakes, but boy was I wrong! These pancakes were filled with flavor as I ordered the apple pancakes and they were topped with a sprinke of cooked apples chunks and to my surprise filled with soft delicious chunks of apples with the delicious taste of cinnamon spice and like no other pancake Ive ever eaten. These pancakes were packed full of flavor and so amazing and filling! The place is quaint and the service is fast and friendly and they have such a cozy little atmosphere with a cute little bar that reminds you of something from the 50s dinner. 100% would recommend this place as I come from south Louisiana where we have some of the most flavorful food in the world and I was pleasantly surprised at just how amazingly flavorful and delicious these pancakes were!
Staff was great. Food was great. My husband recommends the pancakes and chocolate milk. I had the bacon omelet. It was good.
Amazing breakfast and more food than we could eat. Pancakes, eggs, sausage, everything was delicious! The apple butter on toast was outstanding! Worth a go! Only had to wait about 10-15 minutes and the place stayed packed.
We had a wonderful experience this morning at The Pancake Shop from our fabulous waitress Georgia (who gave great advice on the correct way to eat pancakes and never let our drinks emptyto the delicious food!!!! Our breakfast consisted of yummy plate sized banana pancakes with butter and warm syrup, fresh made breakfast sausage patties and scramble/over easy eggs cooked to protection! The staff was very attentive and accommodating to us and the other customers! Thanks for a great experience! We will be back!!
We had breakfast at The Pancake Shop in Hot Springs both Thursday and Friday morning. The food was delicious! The scrambled eggs were amazing. The sliced ham and homemade sausage were outstanding. The staff is very friendly and efficient. Both servers were very polite and offered lots of coffee refills. The prices were very reasonable. A great place for breakfast!
Worth the wait! I have not had buckwheat pancakes in years and never as fluffy! Buckwheat pancakes are usually pretty flat. My sons apple pancakes were decadent, my son also had a lovely omelet. My husbands plate looked so good. The coffee was wonderful and the service was the kind of amazing service I havent seen since I was a kid.
Excellent experience!!!Went to Hot springs for a breakfast and spa for my daughters birthday. We chose to eat at The Pancake Shop for breakfast and it was hands down the best choice we made! We made it there pretty early at 7:45 a.m. to avoid a long wait since we heard how popular this restaurant is and the wait can be long at times. We was greeted as soon as we got out of our car with smiles. We was directed to our seats and immediately asked what we would like to drink. I ordered a coffee and my kids ordered orange juice. When we finally decided what we wanted to order, I ordered a plain pancake (I heard theyre pancakes were huge so one would be enough), two sausages, and one scrambled egg. My son ordered two chocolate chip pancakes, sausage, eggs. My daughter ordered two plain pancakes, bacon, eggs, and toast. The food came out fast and the reviews was correct when they said the portion sizes are huge! My pancake was the size of the plate and fluffy also. The sausage patties were basically hamburger patties LOL! The food was hands down amazing!! As soon as you bite into your pancake it melts in your mouth and is so flavorful. The sausages were so good my daughter was a little upset she didnt get the sausage. She said her bacon was really good but was so impressed of how flavorful the sausage was. The waiter and the hostess was so friendly made you feel like you were a guest at their house. They were always checking in on you and was so engaged in what you had to say. My son dropped his knife and one second later the waiter came over with another one with a smile saying he could hear a drop knife a mile away ☺️. This was a one of a kind experience and I truly cannot wait to come back! Five stars all the way! FYI, my kids (which are young adultscould not finish their two pancakes they ordered. I told them that one would be enough, but they just didnt listen 😉.
What a delicious slice of ham! The bacon was perfection. The fresh squeezed orange juice was like eating a fresh picked sweet orange. The grits were excellent. The blueberry pancakes were ok (Ive eaten at a lot of breakfast places since its my favorite meal so ranked these average. The wait was only 30-45 minutes for a table but service getting our food was quick. Overall a great breakfast.
7-1pm everyday. Thats it. Expect to wait a little while for a table. The staff are great at what they do, but they are typically overwhelmed so be cool. The food is breakfast only, pretty much anything you could want. The portions are large, so come hungry or prepare to share. Its a lovely family owned pancake house on the edge of downtown Hot Springs. The prices are great for a tourist spot. Its small inside, but quaint and cozy. They offer coffee and cold water outside while you wait for your table, and have a fantastic little gift shop next door to peruse. I highly recommend this place, just be patient and kind because its never not busy. That should tell you how good it is.
Came here while staying in hot springs and The pancakes are some of the best Ive ever had. The staff was very friendly and courteous. Special thanks to Ms Jayne who gave our son a picture book she has been illustrating and storytelling. This place is a gem and worth a visit!
Pancakes were huge and tasty! They had many options (buttermilk, chocolate chip, blueberry, banana, buckwheat). We opted for banana and banana chocolate chip. Pancakes were fluffy and not too sweet. They added lots of chocolate chips. Eggs, bacon and sausage were cooked well. The fresh squeezed oj was great but coffee was typical cafe fare. Go early because you can expect a wait.
This place was amazing! I would have taken a picture but we started eating and couldnt stop because everything was so delicious. The portions are perfect and the price even better! The staff was super friendly and our waitress was awesome! We we definitely come back here for breakfast next time we are in Hot Springs.
Blueberry pancake was awesome! One pancake is as big as the plate. Buckwheat apple pancake was great! Grandson loved the chocolate chip pancake! This is a place for Big appetite! Our waitress - Janey was so nice
This was a beautiful shop. Food was fantastic and great sized portions! The wait time was well worth it
Come with an appetite because the servings are large and delicious! Also, if you put name down on the waiting list do not leave the area even if they say 40min-1hr. Sometimes a table will become available and you dont want to miss it. My group did but the host was SO nice and we got a table 15 minutes after they had already called our name.
Enjoying the last day of awesome hospitality in Hot Springs Arkansas. Great people, great town and awesome people.Breakfast is delicious. Pancakes are huge. And if you dont like the breakfast, their friendly customer service is worth the visit.Make sure you come hungry.
Best service and food I have had in a very long time!! Everyone there was friendly and really attentive. The portions are huge so keep that in mind when ordering!!The apple butter is good and i absolutely love that they serve the syrup hot! This business and its building have good stories and I love how the town recounts their history on their menus, decor and displays.
Great food. Nice waitress. Pancakes are huge. As big as a dinner plate. Each order of whatever you get come with tons of food. Fairly fast service even being very busy. Bathroom is tiny but clean.
So good! Everything is made with a special touch, hands down the best home style breakfast Ive ever had. Coffee is made over a gas stove, the butter is high quality then whipped for extra creaminess, the pork is a local high quality variety, they heat the syrup bottles. Seriously top notch experience.
They are not skimpy on portions at all! This place is totally worth the wait. The food is supplied locally and you can tell it hasnt been through processing plants. The ham is great although it is a touch salty. The banana pancakes and french toast were outstanding! They know their egg cooking styles and temperatures well. Everything was cooked perfectly to our liking and requests. They are great, and I cant wait to visit again.
Loved our breakfast at The Pancake Shop! This place was busy! But they get you in and out quick! Food was absolutely delicious! Everything tasted and looked homemade. Good prices, good service, can’t wait to come back! Definitely a must try for your next trip to Hot Springs.
Get here early, theres usually a line to get in..The food was great , I had the plain pancake w fresh made sausage patties and egg. The sausage was very good, the apple butter they serve with the toast was so tasty! The orange juice is fresh squeezed and is so tasty. Have nothing negative to say about this restaurant, its just a small space , so come early to get right in !
Nostalgic classic breakfast joint. Amazing coffee in big diner cups and saucers. Great ham steaks, pancakes, perfect toast and deep fried French toast. Loved everything!
Cute, old fashion pancake place with good food and coffee! My in-laws discovered this place on one of their trips to Arkansas and decided to take us with them. It seems like a popular downtown breakfast place to go to. It stayed busy and people kept coming. I would love to visit again next time we vacation in Arkansas.
Staff was super great. The hostess came to find people in stores nearby when they were on the wait-list. Waitress was great, too. Helped us enjoy the menu and meal. Wait on a semi-busy Saturday was only 20 minutes but I guess its usually longer in nicer weather. We tried one regular, blue berry and apple pancake. My fav was the regular. Butter and syrup look was fresh and homemade.. the orange juice, too! I think the coffee is their own blend as well. With fresh cream at the table! Also had the small ham steak which was pretty big, actually.Everything was so good and the price for all was only $32....!!!Bathrooms were messy but it was so very busy so that may be why.
The buckwheat pancakes were HUGE and tasty! My husband loved his omelet too. Coffee was good and service was great. Only thing I didnt care for was the sausage. Masks are required to enter, so bonus points for that. Overall, a solid breakfast choice.
The best ham steak Ive ever had - it was considerably thicker than most country ham and wasnt dried out. The buckwheat pancakes were excellent.
We loved trying out this historical pancake shop! I had one pancake (trust me, this is plenty as the pancakes are huge), one egg (also a large serving!and 2 pieces of bacon with fresh squeezed orange juice (the best juice I’ve ever had). Everything was delicious and cooked well. I loved that the syrup was served in a warm container. I would go back again, but probably share a meal with someone else. Portions are huge. Jenn was a nice server, efficient and knowledgeable!
The history, hospitality, and great breakfast made a special memory for our trip to Hot Springs. The trick ham steaks either size were huge and very good. I would also recommend the cheese grips. Oh yeah they serve pancakes too.
We had to get a mask from the hostess outside just to walk in to the table and take it off for the rest of our visit. Pretty dumb. The pancakes were mediocre. My 15 yo son didn’t like them at all (chocolate chip - his favorite). The bacon was cooked to crispy and was tasty. The syrup was warm, which was nice. The waiter was friendly.
Great place to grab breakfast on Central Avenue. Serve grits, pancakes, omelettes and more. Syrup is homemade and served warm. Side note: they do not serve potatoes. Staff is super friendly.
This place is amazing! Best pancakes weve ever had! We got there shortly after they opened on a Saturday morning. Our server Ms. Jayne was the best. She gave us the run down on the menu and took such great care of us. I had the blueberry pancakes with bacon and eggs(which was also cooked perfectly). My husband had the traditional pancakes with sausage (hand pattiedand eggs. His was wonderful too. We will definitely put this at the top of our Hot Springs list!
Lots of friends and family recommended this place, and we were so happy to see they reopened in time for our visit. I had the French toast, and it was by far the best I’ve ever eaten! My favorite for over 20 years has been at Pancake Pantry in Nashville, and now this is my new fav. They said it’s deep-fried…well no wonder! It has the best little bit of crunch to it from caramelized sugar, I think. Seriously worth the wait, and very clean environment. They keep the syrup warm and bring you plenty of butter with the meal. Great coffee, too!
What a charming little breakfast cafe! The sausage is delicious; from a local source and appears to be hand molded in house. The bacon was equally scrumptious and cooked to a crispy perfection. The pancakes are HUGE, so Id recommend only one on the side. What really set this little historical cafe apart was the genuine hospitality of their staff.
I was expecting more based on the reviews. The pancakes are ok (mine are way better!). They arent bad but there is nothing spectacular about them. They are very thin and soak up a lot of syrup. The ham was phenomenal! A little pricey at $8.35 but it is big enough to share. The drinks are really small! So you better drink slow....not sure if refills are free. If you want a soda, just know that it comes in a can for somewhere between $1.50 and $2.00. We called ahead to see about the wait (20 min wait and we still had to drive thereand they allowed us to put our name on the list. When we arrived, we waited maybe an additional 10 minutes. Our waitress was great! She was extremely friendly (made small talk but not overly invasive), knowledgeable about the menu, and attentive. Food came out rather quickly considering how busy it was. There is not a lot of seating so that does prolong the wait. Overall, not a bad breakfast spot.
The Pancake Shop was an ok breakfast stop. If youre a fan of crispy bacon this is the place to get it, it was fantastic! Pancakes were good, not spectacular. Omelets are great! If youre a fan of potatoes with your breakfast you wont get any here. Drinks are small, if you drink soda expect a can. We were a little disappointed after reading all the other rave reviews.
While visiting hot springs we were told the pancake shop was the best breakfast to go to! It was worth the 20 minute wait we got there about 9 they get pretty busy but have super fast service! Fast service and amazing service at that! We sat and right away we got water and ordered drinks and food and the food was there so quick! It was all very delicious they have giant pancakes and the syrup is amazing as well!! Their omelets were delicious 🤤 can’t wait to try it again!
