7 Gloddaeth St, Llandudno LL30 2DD, Llandudno
A basic boozer set in a palatial 1920s theatre, underneath the original ornate balconies and boxes.
As you can see the place is still undergoing building work. But even though the scaffolding was still there. The place was busy and will be lovely when finished Im sure. Cheap drinks and friendly staff. Hopefully next time we call, itll be finished
The food and drink was excellent as you would expect. The BIG thing that let it down was that the disabled toilet was closed. To reach the ladies loo I would have had to get my wifes wheelchair downstairs in the lift, cross a very busy restaurant and then go up a flight of stairs at the other side. Perhaps I was told incorrectly ?
Went there today we ordered the brunch really disappointed most of the food was cold except for the sausages the bacon was very thin poor quality. If the plates were kept hot food would be warmer. Best thing about our visit was the coffee. Wont be going back for food.
Loved this place service was good food was good x good prices too.
Busy Spoons early evening. Visited whilst repairs were being carried out on the roofNice shinny scaffold poles inside, quite atmospheric actually. Usual fare and new carpet laid.
Only called in for a cuppa but staff were friendly and it had a lovely atmosphere
These places have always been great. No loud music so you can talk & not shout. The ordering system is superb. Great quality beers at a great price.
The muffin was not what I had expected It was so small and the regenerated poached egg was so sad and bacon was more like over done frazzle.
I normally i hate witherspoon chains. But Ive got to say it is a lovely place building.I visited during the matinée and found it very busy. The prices for a round of 6 was under £16.00.The building is beautiful. Its sad as it symbolism of a by-gone era of theater and arts. The negative are: its a witherspoon, Owned by a compete melt. Toilets are 55 stores high in the clouds somewhere. If you need to go. Go before or go early.
Great value breakfast, quick service and quiet atmosphere
Your typical Wetherspoons, good food, never a bad pint. But this place is very busy, best thing get the app, grab a table and order much quicker than waiting in the que.looks like a bit renovation going on but it doesnt bother the day to day running give it a try when in LLANDUDNO.
Cant beat a spoons meal .this pub is massive and was quite full with customers .. toilets nice and clean and staff pleasant
Beautiful food, and very polite and well mannered. Great atmosphere. I will be recommending they try out your Llandudno site. Thankyou for a lovely night out.
I would give this venue a miss until the renovation is complete and the kitchen staff can return to their previous standard. Food was mediocre at best, poor and unappetising at worst.Scampi acceptable, chicken dry, steak gristly, chips and onion rings lukewarm, burger overdone. We sought out our hard working waiter and gave him a tip for negotiating a maze of scaffolding to find us amongst the mess of grubby carpet & dirty tables laden with discarded plates of half-eaten food.
Have been going here for years but have been disappointed recently. Food menu has been very limited - especially childrens. Last time we went for breakfast, was told when we went to order that there was a limited menu and handed a printout - but the normal breakfast menus were still out on every table? The subsequent breakfast was practically cold and not very nice. Three stars because the beer and the staff are nice.
The place was bouncing when we went with queues at the bar and nearly all the tables were taken. We managed eventually to find a table and ordered food and drinks. As I have a disability and walk with a walking stick getting up and down the stairs was a chore as the lift was out of order. The food was good as were the drinks and very reasonably priced as you expect from Weatherspoons. The staff were all working like beavers and in the main were all ok but there were a couple who could do with learning how to cope with pressure and maintain good customer relations. The pub had been an old theatre and Weatherspòons have tried very hard to preserve the original features successfully. All in all worth a visit
Great pub lovely building nice atmosphere. Really friendly staff. Them steaks Christ they are GOOD! Punches way above its weight! Paid four times as much before for a lesser quality steak. Happy days 😁😁😁😁💲👍
Premises needs refurbishing, food not too bad for the money. Staff dressed poorly, need new outfits. The carpets are very poor and sticky. Staff need more training, they are doing their best.
Another bad experience in weatherspoons, in the same week! Again we did not get chance to eat here and I don’t think many other people did too. Every table you walked by was stacked with plates. No staff to be seen. We sat at a dirty table for 15 minutes not one staff member walked by clearing any other or our table so we left. People were walking in, in disbelief I did see another lady taking photos of the cluttered tables.I am from Yorkshire and have never had a bad experience in weatherspoons here. Not sure what is happening in the wales restaurants. Very disappointed
Sound your norm spoons type place .work being done inside at the moment which will finish soon. Staff great and we liked the food and drinks .great price also.Just an update 21 .08.2022.The scaffolding is still there and not changed .It looks to me like it did 3 to 4 months ago .
One of the biggest busiest Wetherspoons Ive been in with very quick service.
Yes its a pub chain, yes its cheap and cheerful. But its in a beautiful building with lots of history. The staff are amazing no matter how busy they got they were friendly and helpful. The building is currently undergoing some renovation works but its still amazing.
As stated by others, this is an extremely busy ‘spoons in a tourist hot spot. The interior decor is lovely, albeit marred by internal scaffolding. Hopefully will be fixed soon.Orders do arrive but they take a little longer than you might expect. Staff have little time and are v rushed.
Love JDW or hate them, you have to admire their approach to keep outstanding buildings in the community. This is no different, beautiful 1920s theater kept in pristine condition.
Went for breakfast 8 am ish Monday. Half cooked bacon, egg over cooked, served on cold plate so was cold well before finished. Coffee not nice. Very reasonable price but would not go back. I am not a picky customer but would not recommend. Not busy, when l visited.
A very hot day and total chaos in there. The staff were doing their best but dirty plates, glasses and cups everywhere. We ordered 2 coffees and 2 Belgian chocolate biscuits on the app, waited 20 minutes and decided to go to the bar to see where our order was, read my mind one of the waiters came out with our order. Mens toilets were out of use at the front and a big queue for the disabled because it didnt have a radar lock and so everyone using it instead of going upstairs. Heard good reports of The Palladium so think we caught them on a bad day.
Very busy, good pub food, friendly staff.Amazing building, previously a theatre.Currently undergoing major roof repairs, lots of internal scaffolding, did not deter us from eating there.
Nice place to eat. Clean and the staff are very friendly 😊
Helpful staff, had a small issue with food, sorted immediately with no fuss. Couldnt fault the service friendly, helpful and polite. Food hot and tasty, would definitely use again.
Always very busy. Huge restaurant. Good value meals. Not 5 star but good.Beautiful building. Was once a Theatre. The roof is being fixed/replaced hence the internal scaffolding from floor to ceiling in part of the building.
Spent the week in llandudno and we always tend to eat in wetherspoons If possible. Its cheap cheerful and we enjoy the food. I do have to take my hat of to the staff though. Its an extremely busy pub and the staff do not stop the whole time. Delivering food, clearing tables, serving drinks, answering any questions and still smiling. They deserve a raise 👏
Excellent service from the staff however the seating, carpets and toilets could do with some deep cleaning. Badly stained seating in the booth I was in, carpeted area smelled strongly of stale beer, sticky floor in toilets and doors needed repainting, odd tiles missing and skirting board repaired with gaffer tape. The central area of this beautiful old building was filled with scaffolding which was a shame. Food was just okay.
Needs better lighting, sad when the old folks have to use the torch on their phones to read the menu. Scaffolding seems to be a permanent "feature" inside this venue. Enjoy the building site experience. Been like this for over a year. In fact, every time I come in, theres more scaffolding than the time before! Mr Martin needs to put his hand in his pocket. Money-grabbing p*ick 🥱
Very busy, okay service. Same measures used for different gins without washing, meaning that straight gins were tainted with taste of fruit gins. Food was quick but not very warm. Tables need to be cleared, cleaned more frequently.
Iconic building, a good choice of beers at very reasonable prices. Good atmosphere. Shame half the meals advertised on the menu were unavailable but they did their best to improvise.
It was rammed when we went there. But it to be expected as it was summer time! Found a table and ordered food and some ice-cold beers as it was a hot day. The food and drink was good value and excellent quality and arrived quickly. When we went there in July, Weatherpoons appeared to be doing some interior maintenance, however, it didnt demish our experience. Try it!
Nice large open pub, largre breakfast was lovely, I ate the lot
Food was delicious and reasonably priced and was able to get a meal late on. However tables were filthy and the floor staff looked like they were being run ragged. Cocktail was amazing
Called in a few times while on holiday and found it to be a bit hit and miss food wise. First visit was excellent, food was piping hot and service was smashing. The next couple of visits werent as good, the place was packed, the staff were flustered and the food was barely warm. Add to this the scaffolding right in the centre of the inside of the building and the atmosphere of the old theatre was lost. Looking forward to returning when the work inside has been done
In an old cinema, so it does look pretty spectacular. Its very busy as its the only Wetherspoons in Llandudno and on Friday was very noisy. Service at the bar is a bit erratic some of the clientele not of an appropriate age. There is also a lot of reconstruction going on but its okay, honest! And massively better than the £7.60 I paid for a drink in my hotel!
We had the best steak here on Saturday, cooked perfect even tho the staff were run off their feet. Then today, Sunday, we had a lovely breakfast and were well looked after by a lovely man. Very happy and helpful he was, skipping through his morning. 😁 love this place.
Very big eating establishment...struggled to find a table...got on table 222 eventually...ordered at the bar...fair wait but the waiters were back and fore with meals and drinks...when we did get the meals they were hot and very enjoyable.
Typical weatherspoons but in a pleasant building. Its currently getting renovations so there is scaffolding inside but this will improve the setting over time. Disappointed in the range of real ales as usual house beers, but all in good form. Staff happy and polite.
Chips not cooked soggy in the middle, missis had a empire burger Jesus, let me tell you if I wanted gristle with a side of beef this is definitely your place to go the one thing they cant mess up is the beer
It was nice to be back in such a beautiful building. The scaffolding in the ceiling space didnt put us off. Too many tables near the main stairs made the area seem cramped. The fish and chips was nice. Reasonable prices. Quick service, but its not always that way when busy.
Went here for a beer. It was ok scaffold erected inside. Building has nice charm but guys its 29 steps up to the toilets and back down again 🙄. Its just not my scene too large and crowded the afternoon I was in. Gladly found the Cottage Loaf bar out the back door and just to the right.
Very impressive building, unfortunatly the scaffolding was up repairing the roof but i will return when its finished
Located just on the side street and have a car park in front. Great historical building under refurbished on the roof top! Plenty of tables for drinks or meals. Efficient staff at the bar for ordering.
Do love a Spoons! Good real ale at a fantastic price! Happen to look up and see scaffolding! Saw earlier on in year ceiling problem. Thanks to all for work done to make place safe for customers for holiday season!
Bad service, bad food, not abiding by covid rules in regards to cleaning tables or taken orders.Waiter seen taken glasses from table without service tray using his hands and fingers in the glasses picked up from near by table. Also other tables With plates empty glasses on nearby tables for 45mins uncleaned until I made complaint to management. If understaffed should tell customer so can decide on staying or not. Will be posting very negitive review on TripAdvisor as Facebook ect. Also sending photos with complaint to head office. This place Was a joke...Food cold ,fatty, raw uncooked. No profecional management at all. Did not cater for my disabled partner when asked for table for 2 I had to remove a chair as she is wheelchair bound. No staff to take order for 30 mins after being directed to table. If we did not download the app to order we ptobberly would still be waittting. Avoid this place.😷😤😠
