Chain serving signature pancakes & other American breakfast classics all day in dinerlike digs.
First time being here and I found out its a little small town restaurant that has great food. Very good portions of food that well leave full and bringing food home... lol. I will definitely be going back.
I can see why this place is so popular - the food is indeed great. However I had to take one star off because the hostess wouldn’t sit us due to one member of our party being in the restroom. So the hostess just skipped us and went to the next party - we lost our table and had to wait another 20 mins.
Always busy, can never find take out orders and even then there’s items missing. I wish there was another decent breakfast place in the area.
If you are a person of color, be prepared to be checked multiple times before picking up the order. I was handed over the food by one of the hostess and then the 2nd hostess stopped me to recheck the order and verify that I didn’t steal anything. I have no complaints for the food, food is always great as usual.
One of the best breakfast places Ive ever been too. Their pancacks are top tier and their omelets are out of this world. Definitely give them a try when you get a chance.
The food is always amazing. Some of the best breakfast in the country. The only thing is theres always a wait. ALWAYS. So if youre in a hurry, this might not be the place for you. But its well worth the wait. Try it. Youll like it.
This place is a trip. The wallpaper alone is worth a visit, but with the wallpaper comes really good food. A huge variety of sweet and savory breakfast options.I had the potato pancakes which were good. The bacon and the syrup were better. Our waiter, Shadrach, was friendly and went out of his way to keep us happy.Ill definitely be back.
Very warming dining atmosphere. My server, Kay, was an absolute darling, and always check in every once in a while to see how I was doing. Great service, and great pancakes. Hope to be back sometime soon.
THE BEST OPH location out of ALL of them. This location instantly greets you with warmth, peace and an expectation of delightful food. We have been coming for YEARS and have tried other locations, but this one by far is the best one. I love the woodwork, old school seating for a unique brunch atmosphere, as well as the more modern section for larger parties. The coffee is always great in their classic, handmade clay mugs by a local artist (who by the way now has contracted with the U.S. National Parks for moment cups! Congrats to her and her team!). The Santa Fe (with pepper jack, salsa and cream cheeseand Mediterranean (add extra fetaOmelets are amazing. We snag a side of hash browns with pepper jack on top to share family style. Our waitress, Brenda, was so fantastic, she saved our lives (as we joked this morning haha). Attentive, happy, funny, kind and great at making sure we were taken care of. We loved joking with her and her saving us with more coffee. Thank you, Brenda! You are our favorite <3
We met se old friends here. It was our first visit. They have a varied breakfast menu and limited lunch menu. My husband had cherry kiafa crepes. I had oatmeal. Our friends had a breakfast sandwich and an omelette.Portions are huge but this place doesnt sacrifice quality in the name of quantity. The fruit bowls were very fresh and the jam tasted homemade. Our server was in training, but very attentive. We didnt want for anything on the visit. She was even willing to take a photo of us.
I attempted to call this morning 10 times prior to going to work. No one answered . I get to the restaurant and the curly head lady and the young lady was sitting at the counter talking. I asked if they were having an issue with their phone. They both answered no. I called again in front of them and the ringer to the phone was so low that you couldn’t hear it over them talking. Then they proceed to speak Spanish as if I couldn’t understand. I’m very fluent in Spanish as an African American! I began to place my order and had to repeat it 4 times because they were being rude and ignorant. They are very racist toward African Americans at this location and this is not alleged. Just an FYI! All money spend the same no matter what color of a persons skin. Also, there is a 7% charge for all take out orders.
Super friendly staff, can get busy at times but it’s always worth the wait! The food was so good It’s all I could talk about! Everything was super fresh and I can’t say it enough but the food was amazing!!
43 people on line outside and all were moved through in less than 45 minutes. Staff is amazing, turned a table in less than 3 minutes (from guests getting up, to a cleaned, disinfected, reset table).OH, and our 6 person table received all our orders at the same time, hotand exactly as ordered!!! Great job crew!!!!!
Really love this pancake house. Found exotic pancakes that I never tasted before. Everything was so yummy... the waffles, the pancakes, the egg benedict. Will definitely come back to this place when I visit Minnesota again. Word of advice though... this place is very crowded so making reservation before hand is recommended
One of the best breakfast places Ive ever been to but service can be a bit slow as they are always packed. Wait time are atrocious after 9am so be warned.
It may be personal taste but I didnt like the Denver omelette souffle. It seemed to be too much egg and not enough greens/meat. The pancakes were very good. Expect a wait to be seated.
OMG, this place was absolutely to die for!! I do recommend getting there early as it gets very busy towards noon-(we went Saturday morning at 930). I got the OPH omelette with pepper Jack🤤, my son got the bacon and pepper Jack omelette and my friend Heather got the ham and cheese crepe! All 3 items were huge and 2 of the 3 came with 3 pancakes also!!!!🤤🤤🤤🤤 Very decently priced for the amount of food also!! Will DEFINITELY be going back!
Amazing breakfast with big portion sizes! Our server was very kind and patient.Only thing that I did not like was that they didnt seem happy to seat us bc not all members were there. (Ive never had this problem elsewhere. Is this common?Bc we were on the wait list for 30 min, 2 members of our party of 8 ran to Target quick. But then in 15 min our table was ready. It wasnt like I was the only one there to get a table first for my party.
What a charming place! Loved the stained glass, light fixtures, and wallpaper. Very kitschy, but it works! The buttermilk pancakes and Swedish pancakes were both cooked perfectly. The hash-browns were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside- a very impressive accomplishment. It was bustling at 8:45 am, and by 10 am, the wait seemed to be growing exponentially. I’d recommend getting there early. We arrived at 8:45 am, and we only had to wait 5 minutes or so. The service was efficient and our food came relatively quickly. I’d definitely come back for the buttermilk pancakes.
Wasnt entirely sure what to expect, but this was excellent. My wife got the apple pancake, which was gigantic and basically served the table. Buttermilk pancakes were good. Bacon was excellent. Prices were good. My kinda place.
This was a first time visit for me, and I cant wait to go back again in the future! They are open until 3pm and have a large selection of breakfast and lunch items to choose from.I decided to go with the eggs Benedict which came with three potato pancakes, it was delicious. My mom went for the lemon German pancake, which was also a great choice. The service was very timely and courteous as well.I enjoyed the atmosphere of the building, even though it was in a strip mall it felt like someones old family home. There was funky wallpaper, woodworking, chandeliers and brass handles on the doors. The downside was that it was a very jam-packed space. Difficult to maneuver around people already sitting at their tables. If you have a party of five or more, I would reccomend making reservations.
Its hard to get a table and I am not complaining about it. The success of the restaurant is well deserved. Everything is charming and the food is a delight. I should not tell you obviously, but its probably one of those secret spots the locals would like to keep for themselves as its just amazing.
Horrible. I ordered online curbside. Told it would be 40 mins. I get there 5mins early. No parking for curbside. I ordered an omelette, hash brown, and chocolate chip pancakes for my son. (Birthday breakfast). 40.00. I tipped 10.00. I get home. Open the containers to dish out shares. There was a fly in the hashbrowns. My son had already started eating the pancakes. Called the place to complain. She was only willing to refund the hashbrowns. I was not going to eat any of it and wanted my refund for it all. I also wanted my tip back. So now I am forced to stop payment. Sorry. I will be dropping the food off this afternoon. You can have it back. I mean… it’s only fair.
Disgusting there was hair in my pancakes and milk. Disgusting. Horrible service. So many dirty things. Disturbing stench coming from the bathroom.
Great pancake house!! Excellent service by friendly server. Always checking that you are ok and your coffee mug is filled. It’s well deserved to be called pancake house cos the pancakes are super nice. Fluffy and soft. They are a classic! The combo that I ordered came with a steak, wellness medium, that was cooked to perfection. This is definitely on my list of must visit restaurants if I am in MN again.
Amazing food at very reasonable prices. The food and the service is so good its hard to leave without feeling completely stuffed 😅!
Amazing breakfast menu with huge selection of delicious items. I had the Mediterranean omelet with 3 buttermilk pancakes. Super nummy and satisfying. Definitely returning!
I used to love this place but the service has gone downhill. Ive always made reservations & dined in but this time I decided to order online (still tipping 20%). I was told my order would be ready in an hour. I arrived on-time and the place was a zoo. I waited another THIRTY-FIVE min before my food was ready. No apologies, no explanations. There were 4 staff at the front. Two were working, two seemed to be there for decoration & all were rude & unapologetic. Food was bland and extremely greasy. Im not sure what happened to this place but I will be looking for a new breakfast place. Overpriced for such poor service and quality. Ive seen better customer service at Dennys. To the front of the house staff: get over yourselves.
Perfect & fast as usual, even on a Sunday! Very well managed restaurant, one of the best in Edina, a must try for sure!
A lot of food! Consider sharing! Food was really good, server was great, only reason for 4 stars is it was so uncomfortably hot in the restaurant we had sweat beads rolling down our back! Everyone around us was complaining also.
Amazing Breakfast! A little wait but boy it was worth it!
Cant imagine a better breakfast experience. The wait staff was amazing. It was easy to see that the restaurant was full of people enjoying their Saturday morning eating experience, including several dads with their daughters.
Great spot for breakfast. It’s normally pretty packed, so make sure you make a reservation or get there early. Large portions, a short stack of pancakes is 3. I got the Chorizo Scrambler and it covered the entire plate.Good service, average prices for a breakfast place.Downside…they pack the tables in. It gets a little tight on the dinner room floor, especially if you have a large party.
Its super popular! We came there on Monday morning and it was packed! Our waitress was very helpful in helping us navigate the menu and giving recommendations. The food was brought to us quickly and it was hot and tasty 😋 I will be coming here again!
DELICIOUS!!! Decided to go there for brunch and was sooo glad I didn’t go somewhere else. The portions are big but is great if you want leftovers for the next day. I’m a meats girls so when my sister got the garden omelette I decided to try hers and it was soooo good! I got the fresh strawberries crepes and it was also yummy. Don’t forget to order a side of hash brown it’s got just the right amount of crisp.Parking lot can get really packed since it’s in a strip and they don’t take reservations so if you’re going during prime time make sure you go on their waitlist.
First time here with a visit to mall of America. Great food, staff is efficient and quick . Our server Brenda made sure we had everything we needed including making sure my daughter left with a full stomach. Thank you O.P.H we will be back.
Leaving The Great Wolf Lodge we headed here. Kids love pancakes, waffles, my other half loves a good french toast. Myself Im a omelette person....This place is way larger than it appears from the outside, knew it had to be with how packed the parking lot was. We waited about 15/20 minutes, but there is seven is so we expect that. What I did not like is how on top of each other you are. Barely any room between the tables/chairs... Carrying my three year old I felt like I was going to smack someone in the head with her feet.Anyway... Service was OK at best. We sat and sat and sat till our server dropped off water and said nothing else and left again. When he finally came back we got the order in, waited some more which again they were busy... When you wait to sit you wait to eat. Dropped the food off, asked if we needed anything and then never brought what we asked for and didnt see him again till the check came.Your here for the food review though... It was GREAT!! Two kids had strawberry pancakes along with strawberry sauce? Idk, but delicious. One had choc chip cakes, another pumpkin. I however got a mushroom and spinach omelette then added bacon. First the bacon is thick and wonderful, cooked perfectly. Second the omelette is four eggs and "fluffy" I think that means a big plop of egg (see the picture)Overall I would say YES try it! Maybe your service will be better than ours. Food was worth the ok service though.
Great food, great place. They were extremely busy which is understandable but the server was a little rude, hence my reason for docking a point.
An oldie but goodie. It has the warmth and homey atmosphere with great food to create great memories! The waffles and pancakes were done right, nothing fancy but light and airy, pair with the cream, jams and fruits, a dream!
I dont have any complaints. Its a pretty average breakfast joint. We had fast, friendly service. Our food was hot and fresh. Their pancakes were better than most breakfast places. They were fluffy and served with whipped butter and hot syrup. Their thick-cut bacon is just as described.
Went here on a whim for breakfast this morning and was sat right away, it pays to eat out alone I guess. My server was very friendly and timely. I ordered a simple breakfast, a Belgium waffle and coffee, and it was perfect. I have been here a few times now and never left disappointed. I would recommend them to anyone.
I came on a Saturday afternoon with a party of 6 on a holiday weekend, but was a little disappointed by the 30 minute wait...until I went to sit down. I am so thankful I chose to wait!!! This is THE best breakfast I have ever had! I shared the corned beef hash (fresh madewith my sister. We upgraded our buttermilk pancakes to Swedish pancakes with lingonberries. Amazing!! My daughter had toasted coconut waffle and declared it the best waffle ever. My son got chocolate chip pancakes and thought they were REALLY good. We also shared a strawberry banana dutch pancake. You HAVE to try their dutch pancakes, this one or the plain with honey and lemon. Crazy Amazing!! Our server was Jose and he was hands down the best waiter we have ever had. He was a mind reader, thoughtful and quick to help, plus just a very sweet person.
This is our favorite breakfast spot. Ive been craving the Strawberry crepes and I wasnt disappointed. Our server had energy, was attentive, and took great care of us. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast and highly recommended The Original Pancake House! Delicious!!❤
Been trying to find a place similar to Denvers Snooze to get my brunch sweetness fix and this place didnt disappointment. Tried their Strawberry & Banana Dutch pancakes ($14and it was interesting but great! Definitely less flour-y and more egg-y than traditional pancakes but overall great! Feels wrong to eat strawberry banana pancakes without Nutella on it, wished they offered it but would love to try other things as well.
Big amount of food, awesome price and taste too.I ordered Meat Lovers Omelette and extra $1 for 3 blueberry pancakes!! You are going to love it if you love meat and cheese. My husband ordered the Strawberry and Banana Dutch, good combination, pretty sweet too!
Really good abundant American breakfast and brunch. Non-Americans may be shocked about how much sugar that goes into everything; including bacon, whip cream and crepes (normal pancakes). Even the crepes served with ham or chicken is crunchy from the sugar content.A lot on the menu is necessarily what you expect (like the ribs are some sort of ham), but its all really good :-)Service is a little hit and miss. Staff is really nice. Orders are sometimes forgotten, both main orders and side orders. Theyll remember it on the bill though but not on the table. Over a period of three visits included five separate orders not reaching the table.
It was a Monday brunch for us. We had an afternoon flight to catch and the restaurant is about 7 to 10 minutes from the international Airport. We were a party of 5 and we were seated after about 5 minutes. Our food arrived in a decent amount of time, hot and ready to eat.The pictures are accurate and not filtered. It was delicious
I dont know if I had been here before but it was so good. I love the Swedish roll ups (Perkins used to have many, many years ago). Brought back so many memories. I just wished they had rolled them instead of bringing it out for me to roll. It was very hard to do since they were so big and filled the whole plate, but they were very good. So many things to choose from I just wished I lived closer. Our waitress was very friendly.
My fiancé and I came here for the first time. We requested a booth and only had to wait maybe 10 minutes which was awesome. The food took slightly longer to arrive but it was so worth it. We left feeling content and satisfied. The service was friendly and we would definitely comeback when we are in the area next time! I would recommend this to anyone who loves breakfast!
I love OPH! In my opinion, It is the best breakfast/brunch place in the metro area. The portion sizes are massive some many dishes can be shared between people. My favorite thing on their menu is the chocolate chip pancakes. I promise you will not go wrong those babies! The service is wonderful. Only con is this place can get hectic and busy during breakfast rush so just prepare for it. Go early or have reserve via the app (they don’t take over the phone reservations)
