Loved the way they preserve history and nature. Staffs are very helpful and friendly. Want to visit again.
Amazing place for the kids to learn about the old days, really truly fantastic place and visit
Friendly Staff and Pet Friendly Accommodation. This would be my 4th time staying. Highly recommended 🙂👍
Took a school group to stay overnight. Fantastic place! Accommodation is excellent and staff were wonderful - friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The students loved the place and wanted to stay longer. Great food, fun activities (gold panning is a must!and a beautiful setting. Would recommend it to anyone!
Great place and an awesome bloke who does the tours
This place was awesome we got to walk around and learn how to pan gold 10/10 would recommend. We also got a tour and learned a little bit about how the miners used to live
A lot of history here. And our guide Jody was awesome, so knowledgable and with sense of humor 😊 Absolutely must do for kids and adults!
Customer service was amazing. They were professional and have deep knowledge of gold mining and history. Activity was fun and nice.
You can forget some of the great features and attractions in your local area .Love the set out of this place take the family and a picnic. The kids were very amused all day .
We love this place we meet with family every year and stay in the bunk rooms great communal BBQ area fully stocked great ovals to play sports and the guides there know all there history on area it is great for all ages
Staff very helpful nothing is too much trouble providing suggestions for our special day
The old colonial town is great. You get a feel for how it would of been like in the gold rush days. You can pan for real gold, take a tour & the staff are very helpful and friendly. Would recommend highly.
Great place well maintained a slice of our history. Friendly staff.
A wonderfully rustic and authentic experience. Not too commerical, exceptional staff who bring the place to life and plenty to see and do. We spent hours here looking at all the exhibits, paning for gold and just getting lost in time. This is perfect for a family outing and for children of all ages. Entry costs $25 for adults and $15 for children. Kids under 5 are free. On sight camping and cabins are available if you want to stay the night and enjoy all the nearby town of Mogo has to offer. A highly recommended experience into Australias gold mining past.
We had a great day here lots to do and see and very informative.
The guide was an older man, very funny, he explained everything, very knowledgeable. Definitely worth a visit.
Very friendly and helpful lady at the shop. Entry is $65 for family but it is worth it. This fee includes a tour and a lesson on how to use the pan to find gold. My whole family enjoyed the day. We found some gold to cheers us up but not enough to get rich. No restaurants on site. However just a couple of 100 metres on the main road there are some nice restaurants.
Was an awsome experience, they have a small pioneer village that once was the main street of mogo. Learnt how to pan for gold and was allowed to pan in their water wheel basin. Actually found minute pieces of gold. Great for kids
NOT A GOOD PLACE!!! i stayed here for school camp and staff were very very rude! not to mention my room was really bad! door was broken, cupboard door fell off , bathroom door didnt close, heater didnt works and there was blood under my bed
Great atmosphere.Tour guide has great knowledge.
This is a fun, but limited experience. Not much real shade, facilities and signage mean you spend time wandering without any real direction. Staff are friendly and helpful. Its probably better suited to older children.
Fantastic experience. Friendly staff, great entry price. We were able to pan for real gold and learnt a bunch of terminology and reasons behind Aussie colloquial language. Really informative tour and heaps of interaction. Would definitely visit again. There is also a maze at the colony, but this is a seperate event.
Loved it. My son found gold. It was truly interesting and although Id been here a few times before Id never taken the time to do the tour properly. Make sure you do cause its a real gem :-)
Good place to visit. Shows what life was like.
What a great place... excellent staff and very interactive way to learn history. Loved it
Privately owned with lots of history and research based exhibits and artifacts. Well maintained. Saw school excursions and youth groups so must be valuable learning experience. Ample parking. Spend lots of time here with kids.Has accommodation and close to coffee shops if you decide to stay here.Highly recommended!
We had a great stayIt was lovely taking a wall through the town in the early morning & seeing the peacocks (with a chick& the ducks The cabin was delightful as were the starf that we meet. Thanks so much.
Very please to experience. The person who took the tour was very patient and showed how to Pan go gold. We actually got particles of gold and the kids loved it.Its good place for kids and th staff were very friendly. The cafes and the shopping down the street will give you an experience of old cities.nice relaxing experience and place.
Nice place, and more engaging than many manufactured historic towns. You can pan for gold in a wee trough. You can do this even if not part of the organised tour. Entry fee reasonable and cheaper than similar attractions. Friendly hosts too.
had a great time learning about the local area. ..kids enjoyed panning for gold
Very interesting, lovely well maintained village. Kids loved it and the staff were very friendly.
Accommodation was good, 2 types. Bunker and Cabin. Cabins are better but the bunkers have more private toilets. frog in the shower too. Food is good! Occasional peacock and peahen sighting! Good activities too
Adults weekend away or family get together, this place has it all. If you like a relax and a bit of history, this is the place to go. Close to Main Street Shops a great way to spend a weekend.
Great for kids and adults alike - an interesting insight into the history of gold mining and the region.
Wonderful step back into time. Try to take a tour very informative of the local history!
A fun little experience for the kids. An interesting tour then some gold-panning for as long as you want. Very reasonably priced too.
Nice place to explore about history. Our guide was knowledgeable and explained everything in detail. Would like to visit this place again.
Ok for a quick visit. Friendly staff. Ok if passing by but not the type of place to travel out of your way to. That being saod it is easily the best tging in the region. If travelling from the North you may as well stop at Nowra because any further South is a waste of time and petrol.
Great place, full of history, we stayed there 2 nights, could have been longer, maybe 4. Loved it, but you must take guided tour to get full benefits, and if you stay there the cost is included in price!
Interesting place to visit. If youre patient enough you could even fund your trip panning for gold.
Friendly and informative staff. Well preserved and restored heritage. Great place for a family trip.
Awesome to see back to early settlers in the area and glimpse an era that was full of life and adventure and tough hard work. Great to be able to pan for your own gold
We stayed here for a week; the cabins were great, the staff were lovely, the facilities were great & the kids had a ball! They loved the pool, the animals, & having the freedom to safely explore the grounds. Its a lovely place to just kick back & relax 😊
Very good value for money! Must try the theme photo session, it is quite fun to go back 1850!
Amazing. Must go place if u visit Batemans Bay. Free tour and panning lessons with entrance fee. Tour is very interesting and informative. Brought us back to the gold rush days. Lots of small pieces of gold if u r patient and listen carefully.
Very nice visit. A travel back in time. Kids and adults will be happy to pan gold and find some!
Excellent experience. Great for the kinds. The staff are super nice and enjoy there jobs. Recommend a stop in.
Really enjoyed visiting and especially the tour. Will definitely visit again
This place is good value.Even worth staying a night for a quiet/dark nights worth of star gazing. You can of course pan for gold. And nearly everything there is authentic from the time. The guided tours are amusing and child/parent friendly. The maze is simple enough, so just throw the kids in there and sit on the hilland youll occasionally spot them wandering through.
We spent just one night but wishing we spent many more. Staff are friendly and the pet friendly cabins are beyond immaculate. The tour of the old mining town and equipment was fantastic (Which is included in the price). All round the family is impressed and hoping to return again! :)
