Food was really lovely. Coffee was amazing. Very friendly atmosphere will definitely visit again.
Best falafel wrap ever. Lovely staff and delicious coffee. Hopefully they will be able move to somewhere bigger!!
Lovely and polite people. Delicious baklava. Nice to meet them.
Nice idea. Pleasent atmosphere let down by items on menu not being available (tea cakes!)
4 of us met there for a birthday lunch having seen the reviews and awards it has won,It is a very small and basic cafe, serving light vegan lunches, mainly wraps and salads with some humous and olives, my dad who is not vegan had a cheese ciabatta, which had a good flavour as did 2 of our other lunches,(?mine was the platter which had a good flavour and looked good sadly 2 of us had different vegan cakes for desert but unfortunately both were too stale to eat, the 2young woman serving us were very friendly and helpful and deducted the price of the cakes from our bill. The cafe does not serve alcohol, but unfortunately it’s soft drink selection is not very extensive, hence eventually 3 of us decided on orange juice but they only had 2 of them left in stock. The cafe has one toilet for customer and staff use accessed through the kitchen area and down a couple of steps. We had all travelled some distance to meet there for lunch and left slightly disappointed, and won’t be returning customers.
Lovely variety of food with good quality and quantity too! Well worth a try.
I Just love it in there good vibes mostly vegi food
Delicious food and coffee, friendly and helpful staff. Love it here.
Great food and drinks a great atmosphere. Im not vegan or vegetarian but that didnt matter, there are some great tasting foods.
Delicious food to eat in or takeaway such fresh flavours a real asset to Wivenhoe. Accessible for all and fully inclusive menu that will suit everyone, vegan or not. The staff are friendly & helpful and its not far from the station if you wanted to visit by train.
Always a wonderful experience, food is always tasty, some lovely plant based options.staff are friendly, polite and laid back, once you are eating they do not hassle you.Its a very petite restaurant that I imagine could get very busy but its definitely worth trying.
Great little place with excellent food and good service, best to book a table though. I shall definitely be going back.
Regularly treat ourselves to a lunch here, never fails to impress, Charlie and staff are spot on, food is excellent as is the ambience, a hidden gem this one
Delicious food and excellent service! A favorite for a weekday lunch.
A great café serving good coffee and vegan food. Would recommend.
Delicious fresh lunch food. Generous serving size and not greasy at all. Also great value. 10/10!
Quirky little place tucked away off the High Street on the road down to the station. Syrian based food, veggie based and mainly light lunches. Interesting food and some nice different hot drinks to try as well.
My favourite place to eat! Normally I have the platter which is amazing but today Im on a very restricted diet due to health issues. The staff were so accommodating and went through the whole menu with me, adapting 2 of their dishes so I could eat..was so delish along with the cozy, friendly atmosphere...love it!
Amazing food and coffee. Very friendly staff. Would recommend for a new experience of different foods. Definitely recommend the baklava 😍
Lovely little spot, just by the station. Wonderful vegan and vegetarian food, very welcoming and attentive staff and they were very accommodating of our toddler too. The pictures are missing food because we couldn’t wait to dig in 😊
Lovely Turkish coffee and amazing platter. Have already recommended to friends, especially vegans! Staff were really friendly too. Will be back
went here as group of 3. had the double combo which was great. this is a plant based menu with traditional Syrian and Mediterranean fare. coffee and tea not too hot so if thats how you like it i would say something. they do a traditional Turkish coffee.
Came here on a recent visit to Wivenhoe. Food was amazing - fresh, homemade, prepared on order and bursting with flavour. Coffee (Monmouthwas the best I have had for sometime. Staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend and look forward to returning soon...
Visited yesterday, had a sharing platter for two.It was wonderful.Really tasty, so many flavours and so well presented. We shall definitely return Sonia & Jeff
Amazing food- you always get more than you expect! Staff and owners are extremely friendly and customer-focused, and its all around a lovely place to eat, satisfy those craving, and have a lovely relaxed time.
I only had coffee which was excellent. Good service, friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. Will be returning there for lunch next week.
I have been holding off reviewing as covid has made life very tough for the food game but as life is returning I thought I would start again. Olive is a small cafe style venue with maybe 10 covers inside. We had the platter. Vaired and fresh and well presented. We also had the home made mint lemonade, at £3.50 its not cheap but it was so refreshing and Id buy again. 22£ for 2 of us and left content. The man that served us was lovely and explained the food with passion and care. Cant wait to visit again. Well done
I was cycling along the National Cycle Route and found this gem along the way. So many delicious vegan options!!! I had the kibbeh followed by coffee and vegan baklava. The host was very attentive and kind to this weary traveller. I’m so glad I took a small detour to come to this lovely cafe.
Whilst on a walk along the river we came upon this small but very friendly outlet, the coffee at £2 was excellent value and very nice, we had a plain croissant and pain au chocolat (total cost £7)Im not a vegetarian but if I was a local I would definitely try their main meals, they looked delicious.
Great food, reasonably priced and the minty lemonade was perfect for a hot summers day. Will definitely visit again!
Absolutely delicious and fresh Syrian based dishes. The staff were very friendly, informative and welcoming. Definitely worth a second visit.
The food is amazing and out of this world. The staff, Charlie and Abdul are two of the liveliest people Ive ever come across, always making sure that we are happy with the food and take time out of their busy schedule to chat. Thank you. Joe from MicroGym.
The staff were lovely, friendly and very helpful, happy to explain the menu and recommend dishes. Food was very tasty, vegetarian and toasty hot. I would recommend booking a table as it was quite busy at lunchtime.
Beautiful place in a lovely neighbourhood. Quick service for authentic Arabic food and drinks. Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. I loved the Turkish coffee and Falafel. Would definitely be back and I will recommend to family and friends.
we came here for the first time on tuesday for delicious fresh food and thoroughly enjoyed our drinks. we were served by a lovely young lady but all staff was very helpful and attentive. so pleased that we came again yesterday however the experience wasnt as gratifying as the first as it felt a little rushed. overall great
Lovely welcoming place, shared a vegetarian platter, as one of us was vegan, they let us know which dishes were vegan. Delicious falafels - we had to order more. Wheelchair access to cafe good, made no fuss - but helpful, though I think it would have been a challenge had our wheelchair user needed the loo - but in such a tiny place we were not surprised - maybe a goal the cafe can aspire too!
We had a wonderful lunch at the Olive branch 3 days ago. We shared a mixed platter which was absolutely delicious. Although I am familiar with middle eastern cuisine, there were some dishes in it I had never sampled before. We enjoyed every morsel of this large platter, served with fresh flatbread. I had the savoury yogurt drink, which, again, was a refreshing discovery. Dessert was just as lovely, followed by Turkish coffee. The service was very attentive. This is a absolute gem and I hope we can come back to enjoy it soon.
Ordered ahead on the phone to collect the sharing platter for two and oh my what a delicious feast. Served in helpful compartmentalised containers with warm flat bread, cutlery and napkins to go. We walked down to the water and tucked into this tasty platter. Friendly and efficient service, reasonably priced and freshly made to order.
A little gem of an eatery. After several delectable visits I felt it only fair to write here how delicious the food is and how friendly and attentive the staff are. The sharing mezzes are excellent and the homemade minty lemonade a total winner. Having sampled both hot and cold dishes I can say you able to order anything with confidence. If you are unsure of or unfamiliar with any of the dishes the helpful staff will be happy to talk to you about them to find out what suits best!
Absolutely amazing foodCustomer service was incredibleThoroughly enjoyed recomendations given by staffLook forward to returning
amazing food!! always get the platter here and share :)
We had the buffet food for a big evening party delivered by the Olive Branch - it was fantastic! We received a selection of dishes (all in ample quantityand all were most delicious. Various people at the party commented how tasty the food was. I very much recommend it.
Recently left from a lovely lovely dinner, with excellent food and such a friendly lady who served us. She even went out of her way in her own time to make a vegan cake for my partners birthday, with little notice! Will definitely visit again, cant express how delicious the food was!
Quirky, genuine, refreshing food. Very limited menu so be sure you like whats on offer before you go. Tiny place and very friendly.
Wow, absolutely lovely place to be in, very clean and tidy. You can feel the amazing taste of the original delicious Syrian food :)))
