Real ales, a pool room, garden and large screen TVs in an old-school pub with weekend drag acts.
Please remember how you won equality and freedom of expression. Through protest. We are intersectional people of all kinds. Including protesters.
Lovely little pub great staff friendly venue.Sadly let down by a sad and angry owner who forgets his buissness and rights were won though direct action. He aggressively grab my drink and put it behind the bar. And grab my belonging and starts aggressively encouraging me out the door. His staff were shocked the bouncer was shocked.Been in their two nights in a row. No issue yesterday. Lovely chats people noticed my hi vis and mega phone (drop in on my way back to were Im stayingasking about the protests showing support and solidarity buying me drinks some even left wearing badges.Of coarse there are negatives that come along with protesting and Im happy to converse on this but sadly thats how things change as long as you have a blue light policy so you move for emergency vehicles and stick to non violent principles. Its really disappointing when a LGBTQIA+ venue with a protest flag outside the pride flag forgets its history queer existence is resistance.
Sad to hear a friend of mine was asked to leave for taking part in a peaceful protest to save our future! Protest is essential to a democratic society and we currently have so much that needs to change. I hope you will reconsider how you treat people who are working hard to safeguard your future!
Nice gay bar in East London
Brilliant night. Staff very friendly. I would recommend
Was shocked when walked in but the staff was nice and quick to get my order in.Would return, no parking yet
Great little pub and very friendly. Was made to feel very welcome. Had a great night and will be back again
My new favorite gay bar in East London! Great community feel and a drag show to tip it off.
Great pub friendly staff. The Pub Landlord Mr Fell is very warm and friendly.
Fun bar, friendly staff
Friendly , Air Conditioned ! , Traditional boozer .....Fab .
Good pub with some nice beer selections
Lovely pub but no foodβ¦
rainbow π celebrations every event & very friendly and not too expensive
Great little pub. Nice and friendly welcoming. Good choice of beers. Definitely be back
rainbow celebrations with a good range of beers and spirits well priced
Nice little pub with good atmosphere. Dronks were reasonably priced. Good customer service.
Great little pub in a nice area close to Limehouse station. Great service and great atmosphere:)
A comfortable and welcoming east end pub with a twist...when you enter this pub it will give you the feeling Ron and Reg Kray could have drunk is this pub many years ago.The twist is the weekend entertainment, you have a host of real live and in ya face drag queens. Yes thats right, drag queens and you really should go and visit...Im sure it will be as surprising and entertaining night.
What a great gay bar tucked into Londonβs East End. We were here on a Sunday night and there was a fantastic drag show with a friendly, local crowd. It reminded me of my home gay bar. Check this place out, itβs a gem!
Great little pub LGBT+ and drag shows. Amazing night out.Only problem is it is a small pub so can be a bit crowded so if your claustrophobic might not be for you.
Fantastic night, great pub lovely staff and everyone so friendly. Live singer tonight great night.
Had a long walk around town and then one of my friends said we should try it out. This is now one of my favourite pubs in London. β€οΈ
Great traditional pub with regular cabaret. Very busy, could do with an extra pair of hands, but the staff did their best. Great night out
Nice and cozy place, weve had couple of beers, Guinness and Camden hells and we were paying less then 10 quid.... They have got some snacks and roolls that you can get.Not sure if they do kitchen, defenetly on Sunday.
Always enjoyed the pub over the years but the owner is a miserable old man who honestly doesnt deserve the custom started shouting at me over nothing as we were leaving performing to his audience. Bar staff always polite but we wont be back not that he cares Im sure! Meant to be LGBT friendly how about trying to be friendly in general !
Quite possibly one of the best LGBT+ venues around. Thereβs a brilliant selection of reasonably priced drinks and the staff are all incredibly friendly a welcome.
I absolutely β€οΈ The Old Ship! Ive been a kind of regular punter since the summer of 2007! Thats over 14 years, folks! And I live about 3 miles away! Its got an air of a good, old, local boozer with the added benefit of being LGBTQI+ more than friendly. There are midweek quiz nights and cabaret over the weekends. Theres a small beer garden-cum-smoking area, the staff are lovely, the atmosphere welcoming and drinks fairly priced. Wish them longevity and joy for us all for years to come.
Great atmosphere! A unique pub which is very well run with a friendly mix of customers.
Fantastic local pub, friendly staff and nice atmosphere.definitely going back again.
Best pub in London. Everyone so friendly. The owner John has created a real vibe. From a chilled pint with your mates to your best Saturday night out this is your place to go. You wonβt regret.
Always a fun night at The Old Ship on a Saturday and Sunday night for Drag shows! Reasonable priced drinks and friendly staff! Keep up the good work John and Team β€οΈ
Best pub in East London! Its a proper pub, with decently priced drinks and fabulous staff. Sometimes youll find hilarious drag shows on, or just fun and slightly cheesy music π absolute hidden gem of an establishment
Brilliant local corner House pub in Stepney. Small, welcoming, great beer and a fantastic bar person. If staying in Limehouse, look this pub up and visit.
Great pub and very welcoming to LGBT people! Great job on that! The drinks were fairly priced, they have a good selection of drinks and great bar games also. I recommend this place if you want to have a fun and chill night.
stumbled into this place on a sunday night feb 2020 while on holiday from southern california. one of the most fun spots in London! friendly staff, great drink prices & selection, entertaining show, & the music gets you off your seat! heart & soul performance was spectacular!
Local boozer with a good mix of people. Staff are friendly and quick to serve. Wide selection of drinks (at London prices, support your localCheap sandwiches available at the bar. Large screen TV and music. Apparently it gets very busy on the weekend with a karaoke and a disco. Clearly LGBT friendly with a mixed crowd who all seem to be getting along nicely.
Lovely pub! Stopped in for a couple of pints on the way home, as its one of the few places open past 1030 on a Sunday! So glad we did though. Interiors lovely, atmospheres lovely, staff are lovely. Great place!
A great pub, I used to be a fireman in the area and we hold our twice annual reunions in there and weβre always made to feel welcome. Spotlessly clean, a good pint, friendly bar staff and reasonable prices, a proper pub. If I lived in the are this would definitely be my local ππππ
Im not a regular pub person however I pop into the pub every now and then and was charged Β£6.20 for a house fun and tonic I thought that was a bit steap mabee thats why I was the only person in the pub
Friendliest pub in the area, lovely vibe, good selection of drinks and a pool table. If you want to catch up with friends for a drink, this is your best bet in the area. For ale there is the craft beer pub, for sport the queens head, for a friendly relaxed vibe though, its the old ship.
Perfect little pub, never any trouble. The owner is a very well organized man. The acts are out standing! Great atmosphere especially a weekend and a sunday! If you want a right giggle with your mates this is the place to come!!
A quintessential East End pub with lots of kitsch detailing and rosy service, entertainment on some nights and a host of jaunty regulars. The snooker room down the far end is good for a private pint and they serve old school stuff like ham rolls and pork scratchings, no state of the art bar snacks - and if they like you theres a lock-in energy. The clientele is predominantly gay and they stock the local gay free sheets.
Me and some friends were having a great time in this pub, but unfortunately we were asked to leave because we were dancing.... yes thats right, the owner told us that we cant dance in his pub - despite there being music blaring. He told us this isnt the sort of place that this can happen. Me and my friends all could not believe that this was the only reason we got told to leave. We were not hurting anyone, or offending anyone - in fact the atmosphere seemed fitting for us to dance. THIS PUB DOES NOT WELCOME YOUNGER GENERATION LGBT.
Lovely little pub nestled away in the streets of Limehouse. So friendly and social and with a decent selection of drinks. Always a few patrons in mid-week and gets very busy at weekend. Great for a quiet pint or a fun night out
Cosy small bar, great evening spent! We were referred there, but we found ourselves very lucky! Drinks are well priced, and we happened to go on a night Charlie Hides performed and really enjoyed her in the small venue. Go check it out!
Lovely clean pub with a great atmosphere. You can get tea or coffee with a sandwich if you want somewhere different than a cafe. The staff are friendly and really helpful. They even sold many different poppies when other local shops had none. They regularly have quiz nights for charity and are well liked part of the local community. They have live music and you can even have your local wake (goodbyeto a loved one.Just phone them or call in for a great time. Its just like the CV old fashioned pub in the 21st century.**************5 STAR HOSTELRY************
Amazingly, two traditional "proper" pubs survive on opposite corners of York Square and this is one of them. The other is the Queens Head and I recommend visiting both of them. The Old Ship has a really nice atmosphere. There was a DJ when I was there on a Saturday evening and theres a separate room with comfortable sofas and a pool table. Also a good selection of drinks.
Fun, East End pub with a pool table out the back and a small smoking area. Friendly staff and decent prices, considering the location. The place has an unpretentious, traditional London feel and gets pretty busy on weekend evenings when theres a drag show on a small stage in the main bar room.
My favourite pub in London hands down. Friendly bar staff, good prices and a lovely atmosphere. There is a relaxed area at the back with sofas and a pool table. A great pub quiz happens every Wednesday and be sure to catch the frequent drag shows on Saturdays if you can!
