Pub with worn sofas and carved stone fireplace for quizzes, comedy, big-name DJ sets and burgers.
Amazing burgers, great cocktails and a legendary pub quiz on Tuesdays.
Amazing decor, amazing Sunday Roast. I would definitely recommend
Really cool statues in here. Music was great on a Friday night.
Lovely place to go for a night out. Beautiful pub.Just the bad thing was the dance floor upstairs was so crowded and so warm. I think theres No ventilation
Great Pub, awesome and funny pubuiz, great pub Quiz Host. I was there on the 11th october 2022. When i come back to London, i will visit this Pub and their quiz again.
Very friendly bartenders, great burger. I got the passionfruit cocktail and it was excellent!
Cant actually say too much about the venue as we were there for a neon life drawing class upstairs (which was ace!). But we did grab one quick drink the the staff couldnt have been more pleasant. Had a nice happy atmosphere in the bar. Would revisit for sure.
Great atmosphere. Bartenders pay attention to details. Fantastic drinks!
Lovely time in the neon lights. Naked models posing for you, You sit and draw how you see them 🎨 😍 all tools are provided. Nice music&atmosphere. Would I go again, probably no, for me its a one time experience.
Nice decor and polite staff, Sunday roast was a decent price and average portion size. Toilet facilities not very clean!
Good old boozer, down near angel/Islington, plenty of beers on tap, cocktails well worth a look
Fast becoming one of my favorite pubs in Islington, and therefore London. Fantastic atmosphere, super cool aesthetic, staff are great, and their burgers, wow.. also, fun fact: they say they have the oldest functioning fireplace in London
Classic pub with the so much sought after classic pub flair. Ambience really nice with lots of regents heads on the walls to commemorate the name.Joined a pub quiz and met a random stranger who asked to join our group. Sensational vibe and really good and funny quiz master (mistress?)
Amazing pub! Great beer and good food in a great atmosphere - highly recommend!
Great setting but the service and staff seem to never had worked in a pub before - watching someone figuring out how to open a bottle of wine for the first time is not what I come to a pub for. Later buying a bottle of white wine and getting it at room temperature. This place was so good what happened ? If you want to go to a pub spend your hard earned money to help train their staff go to the old queens head.
I came here with my friends for the Sunday roast menu and it was good!It was a bit busy but for as busy as it was the staff were extremely friendly and attentive and regularly checked to see if we were okay. Their recommendations on food and drinks were spot on too.The pub itself is a little too dark and gloomy for my liking but I suppose that’s what makes it unique. We were sat up stairs and I do feel the tables are quite close together but it was bearable. The food was lovely I finished my plate and the drinks were very nice.I would definitely return but probably opt to be seated downstairs as the upstairs is just too gloomy for my liking. Overall - good
Lovely pub, great atmosphere but struggle understand Camden Hells glasses are a pint to the brim. Heaven forbid do you ask for a top up, maybe just a certain staff member as the majority are lovely
Really beautiful interior and lovely staff, especially our waitress Laura who was so kind. Food was tasty and filling, can’t wait to return. Only downside was that it was quite cold where we sat, which made it a bit uncomfortable.
So cool! This pub was a revelation. The food is really good and tasty, beers and drinks are delicious. The interior design is fantastic, absolutely recommended!
Quality find this pub! Old school fascia and quirky inside with air conditioning which was a great surprise and completely unexpected. Good bar and a delicious roast dinner 👌🏻 Really friendly staff and even better service considering we have a one year old! Highly recommend if in Angel.
Mind-blowing roast for the price. Fantastic service with a smile. Beautifully decorated upstairs and throughtout. A good time was had, and will be had again. Would highly recommend.
Came here for Sunday roast, great food and great service. We had AJ as our server and they were fantastic. Hospitality is about the environment as much as the service - you want to have an experience that’s different from ordering from Deliveroo. AJ made our visit perfect- don’t lose them!
The staff are really friendly and nice and thats why I gave 4 stars..Food though is average, nothing special about it, even though their El chappo burger is rated 2nd best in London, but I didnt find it that special..I arrived during the happy hour and got to experience some of their cocktails for 5 pounds which was a plus, they do some really special stuff.
Fair price for a good amount of Sunday roast. And if you’re hungry, don’t want to risk your money, and get some good Sunday, this is the place.
This place was wonderful! We chose this place for the traditional Sunday roast dinners and we werent disappointed. We were a little early for our reservation and they were most accommodating. Staff was friendly and responsive. We would definitely return.
Beautiful pub with a very, very good burger (albeit a little wet and sloppy, which is a good thing when youre drinking!). It gets pretty busy on the weekends, but thats what happens when a place has good vibes.
Buzzy atmosphere pretty much 7 nightsAll of the Grub is 5 ⭐️ nachos are insane 🤌🏽Great spot. Only reason not 5 stars overall is it can be a bit of a wait to get drinks at the bar and 1 of the bouncers is an absolute headcase
Service was amazing. Staff are super friendly and cocktails are great! Also has great karaoke rooms upstairs. Great job to a girl with braids and guy with a hat can’t remember their names but they was really helpful and took care of us!
Nice pub with a great outdoor area out front for these warm summer nights! Nice selection of beers on tap, and a good selection of tasty burgers too. Interior decor is very cool as well.
You can go with furry mates, great burgers and friendly staff. What else do you need!
I went to the Queens (as my friends and I now call iton a Wednesday when we were in the area. We went in and found out they were doing 5£ cocktails all night, so of course we stayed there. But the staff was amazing and so welcoming, especially Phoebe and AJ, they made us feel right at home. We also discovered that they have a night club on the weekend. So now this is our favorite hang out place whenever we want a good night!
I love this place, its so beautiful and theres so much history to it. But please, weve moved on in terms of vegan food availability. It should no longer be the realm of its same as the veggie but with less items, but well charge you the same. Vegans are tired of having this discussion and it puts us off venues. Please have a think about your vegan offer, you could even have a crack at the holy grail, a decent vegan Yorkshire pud. Then youd effortlessly be five stars! X
Good for Sunday roast. Nice decoration. We were told we had the table until 7pm but got kicked out at 6:30pm.
Thank god The Old Queens Head Pub exist ! Its hard to find a place where you dont get hustled in Louxor. The staff is extremely nice and the food is good. Its also a relief to sip on a cold beer !Thank you so much guys !
Atrocious nachos. Cold, stale and tasteless.Pub quiz night is overcharged, and dragged out so you stay in and order more drinks. Do yourself a favour and pick another place for a fun night out.
Absolutely amazing staff! Every single time we come to The Old Queens Head the staff are lovely, fun, chatty and all seem to having a great time, but also really knowledgable about the food and drink. They always go the extra mile to ensure you have a good time!Excited to come back again soon.P.S delicious food too! And thanks to the chef for making a vegan side dish for our group today when we all had roasts ☺️
This was my first time trying the sunday roast, I loved their beef roast with the gravy sauce on it! Definitely a must try place and the atmosphere of the restaurant was welcoming :)
delicious vegetarian sunday roast mushroom wellington with the proper amount of gravy! great vibes and can’t wait to come back for a pint and club night
Superb Sunday Roast in an amazing building. Very hospitable staff and fantastic Fiery Mojito to boot!
Really nice pub, the roast came cold at first, we told the staff and they brought another one.We ordered roast beef and it was really good this second time. Enough gravy, nice roasted potatos and really tender beef. So, even if the first impression was not good, at the end we left happy
We came here for the Sunday roast and it did not disappoint! All of the staff were so friendly, chatty and attentive. All of them asked how our day was going. The place was pretty busy and had a nice atmosphere with music. The pub itself had some old decor but it gave it that cosy old school vibe. It also had three floors and private karaoke rooms. The toilets were located on the ground floor and the top floor. Top floor toilets were clean and quirky. It also had a little garden area. I had the beef Sunday roast(£15.95and my friend had the lamb Sunday roast(£14.95). We also had the sticky toffee pudding(£5.00). The menu was a good size with just the right amount of options. The meat was cooked perfectly and the gravy had a nice taste. The carrots and parsnip were just the right texture for me, soft but not overly soft. The potatoes could have been crispier but it wasn’t a problem. The dessert was tasty. The portion was good. I would say it was worth the money. Will definitely be revisiting.
super friendly staffsexcellent customer servicesamazing sunday roast (ordered the chicken and the beef one)🧡
Came here for Sunday roast and it was fantastic! They were able to accommodate a larger group and I personally loved the chicken roast it was really well cooked. Also cant leave without getting a sticky toffee pudding to top it off.
Visited before Christmas to have a lovely Christmas dinner with my friends. Food was tasty and served hot. Dishes were served quite quick also. Chicken dish I had had good flavours. Portions are generous 👍🏼 The dinning space upstairs is a nice place to bring friends for a good hearty meal!
Awesome, really lovely pub. Great fire and food, the wings are very tasty!
Superb interior design, the gentleman that served us is really nice and polite, he looked after us really well 😀. The food is amazing (we had the Sunday Roastcompliments to the chefs!
Super friendly staff, a beautiful place and a superb range of beers and cocktails. Well worth taking a detour to grab a drink here!
Fantastic Christmas roast. Vibrant atmosphere and a slightly louder setting for a Sunday roast, for a more fast paced and lively affair. Likely not a place for a family meal, but definitely appealing to friend groups and those looking to escalate things quickly.Excellent, delicious food and wine options.Amazing, authentic traditional decor also with karaoke and games rooms.
The best vegetarian Wellington in London! And great beers too. Pretty massive serving size too. We shared two of these between three people. It was crowded downstairs but we managed to find a table upstairs. Nice hip crowd. It was a bit too loud for conversation but not any more than any other London pub.
Amazing burgers! Hand down the best Ive ever had! I had the Kevin Bacon with Roast Potatoes while my friend had the El Chappo with Roast Potatoes. Prices are reasonable and service is ace! Highly recommend 10/10
