The Office in West Chicago

This is one of the best places for Macaroni in the area. I also get deviled eggs every time I go.My favorite are the pretzels.In the summer the outdoor dining area is wonderful with beautiful views of the St. Charles. The atmosphere is comfortable and feels like a UK pub. Definitely one of my favorites.

Came for a little dinner with my family. Food was fantastic I ordered the Buffalo chicken sandwich and onion rings. Chicken sandwich was flavorful great sauce.

I’ve always enjoyed my apps hete as well as events. It’s been a perfect spot to stop for a quick meal between lessons and errands. Their service and food comes out quickly, hot and fresh, no complaints!

Food was great, but the service was really the highlight of our visit.

The "Office" is a great place to hang out with friends and family. Good food and great environment makes this a place you must try. My wife and I love to sit outside with the fire pits and enjoy a good meal and great atmosphere.

Great old fashioned... get the Ahi Tuna Sliders you know you want to. Order 2 plates if there are more than 2 of you. I didnt house a whole order to myself in 10 minutes...

I had lunch and it was just ok, nothing special about it. I was there while they were getting ready to close and some lady was yelling the whole time at the staff to hurry up and finish their work because she wanted to leave. I guess she didnt care a customer was still in the restaurant. She was so rude to the staff.No one should be talked to like that!

Truly enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The host checked on us several times to ensure we were having a good experience.

Good food, but they ran out at 4:30pm on Sunday steak sandwich. Still kind of burgling that restaurant can ran out of the steak. That’s one of the things they are famous for. Service was very slow and not good. But burger was good, even though I got it cold.

This is one of our regular "lets get a casual weekday dinner and drinks" place. The menu is varied and solid, good food at good prices. The beer selection is adequate (not excellent, but adequate), and there are drinks my wife likes. It is a bit loud at times, but, hey, that just means people are having a good time. It is a nice casual place to grab a dinner and drinks.

We were went here with a party of 10 for dinner. One couple in our party ordered the nachos as an app. It came out as a massive pile of deliciousness from what we were told. We ordered it for our meal because it looked amazing. When food came out we were given a small dish probably a1/3 the size and when we asked we were told it was all the same. Like we just watched the other plate come out 3 feet from us but, they insisted it was the same.. one of our partywas a cook who started laughing and said a cook who started laughing and said thats not even close so much for dinner pathetic

Disappointed to see video gambling machines added to the restaurant. Completely clashes with the historic vibe of the building. Ruins the ambiance.

Went in for lunch with a coworker. Chantal really took great care of us, she was friendly and our soft drinks were always full. The pretzel appetizer was hot and fresh and we both enjoyed our char broiled pub burgers. Really a great value for the downtown St. Charles area too.

First time here. Food was delicious, we had the caprese flatbread for an appetizer. We enjoyed it. Good enough for 2 people. For Dinner i recommend the Fish Tacos. Its hard 2 find grilled fish taco in Illinois. They were really Good. My boyfriend had a burger which he liked. Service was friendly and we never had to wait for drinks.

The Office is a great place to, drink, eat and meet. The menu has been greatly improved since the new owners came in. The staff are fantastic, very friendly and efficient. Special call out to Ellie, Abby and Natalie they always make you feel welcome, at home and a priority.

I had my rehearsal dinner and my baby shower here and it was incredible both times! They took such good care of us and the food was amazing. Any little events like that I always think of The Office first.

Old late 1800s building known as the "office" accommodates pub dwellers while the "library" can comfortably sit diners for a choice of salads, sandwiches or hot, complete entrees/house specials with fish or chicken and great garlic mashed potatoes and a veggie, like roasted asparagus or creamed spinach. Moderately high prices but within reason for this area. We came for dinner, but hostess "assumed" we were drinkers waiting for a high top table. I was seconds away from saying that a table for 4 was available for dining and wed like to sit there, when she asked if it was okay to sit us at a "low top table". Yes, please!!!We only had silverware for two, but we were a party of four. So we asked for the two sets of silverware needed. She said okay, but forgot about our needed request. Our waitress was pleasant but service to get our beverages and order our meals was slow. Finally, after 30 minutes, we had our beverages (water and sodaswith the meal served shortly after. However, we STILL needed silverware! The hostess appeared inconvenienced by our 2nd request for eating utensils. Now we can eat. Food was pretty good and generous. Not a terrible experience, but there is room for improvement.

Great pub located in St. Charles historic district. We had warm pretzel with jalapeño cheese and bacon smoked mozzarella for appetizers. Everything on the menu is ala carte. I had the pulled pork sandwich with truffle fries, my wife had the chicken sandwich with onion rings. Both were delicious.

Stopped in last night for the first time with a few friends. Nice environment, good drinks, good food. The wings and bacon mozzarella were amazing! The nachos were okay, need to have a little less cheese on it. Vanessa was our waitress and provided great service!

Went here for a private Christmas Party and the food was good but the staff was great! For a larger party there was more then enough staff walking around ensuring everything was getting enough to eat/drink. We had a young girl (I think her name was Hannahand she was great! Can’t wait for next years party.

Dinner out for the two of us. Sat at the bar since we didn’t want to wait. They offered out door seating but passed since it was 50 degrees. Maybe they have heaters I don’t know. Nice selection of alcohol. Ordered chicken wings and they were super dry. I am sure if we complained they would have replaced them but the service was slow and we didn’t have time to wait. I had the lobster roll. I asked before because it is lobster in the Midwest. Was told it was hot or miss with customers. I was one of those customers that it was a miss. Husband had skirt steak sandwich and was very happy. Prices are reasonable for the area. Staff was nice and helpful. I just don’t see us going back.

9/11/21 Update: We went here today and we were very disappointed to see that although there is a state mask mandate, not one employee was wearing a mask.The Office is a nice middle ground price-wise and atmosphere-wise. It’s not overly fancy and it has a local pub vibe. We had a work party there and I was able to try a variety of delicious appetizers. There is not a lot of vegetarian options and the food is average. The Office is a great place to go for an afternoon drink and an appetizer.

The food was great.. prices are reasonable for what you get. The service was lacking just a bit, but not sooo much that we wouldnt come back or complain too much. In this day of trying to find help in the food industry, it was what it was! At least the ones that were there showed up... we will be going back to try it again!

Nice place very big inside it also has outside dining. The service was fast and good. The food was good nothing to brag about but pleasent prices were reasonable I skipped on desert. It had a decent selection on liquor. I would go back again.

They have most excellent summer cocktails.Try the tropical Beach Margarita or the key lime pie margarita. Also the pulled pork nacho and the Cajun chicken sandwich.

An absolute gem of a dinner before a show, the reuben sandwich will knock off your socks. ( start with an order of appetizersEverything is top notch, from staff service, price and quality. My review may seem over the top because it should be.

Awesome food. Check out the patio area, its really a hidden gem. Nice fire features and great ambiance. We had the chicken sandwich and the nachos and both were delicious.

Good variety of drinks. A bit loud when we went, but its a bar so expected. Husband did not enjoy the old fashioned, but I enjoyed the Sangria off of the spring specials menu. Would go back and try different drinks.

Very busy but efficient staff. We sat at the bar for a couple beers and a Sammie while watching a game. The food was prepared pretty well, hot and nice presentation. Bathrooms needed a little cleaning attention.

Nice people waited on us. We had cocktails followed by nachos with pulled pork. It was really pretty good! The three of us were full enough from the nachos to call it a meal.My only concern is that the tables seemed to be placed 6 feet apart but that is not enough to keep the participants at each table 6 feet apart. No one sat next to us so I still felt safe.

Definitely have had better food for less. Received menus that were kinda gross from prior patrons. Waitress was nice but other folks working were less than happy to be there. Nachos were good but cost over $14. This place has seen better days, good for a quick appetizer and drink but go elsewhere for date night.

Patio is nice. Service is slow. 20 minutes for drinks. Another 30 minutes for appetizers. Another 30 minutes for dinner. Food was fair to good. Ordered burger medium and it came out VERY well done. Drinks were good.Not the best, but certainly not the worst. Might return.

Cute place to have a drink and get some decent food. They have a nice outside area with adequate room to sit in either high or low chairs. The outside fire tables are nice and add a good ambiance. The gas smell from the fire pits can be overwhelming if its blowing in your direction and that can be off putting.The drinks have heavy our pour, which is nice, but it comes with a price.Give it a try when youre in beautiful St Charles.

Lil bit loud. My husband said seems likes there are some cats fighting cats inside with all the women screaming. Aside from that i enjoyed the food and good service from kaitlyn or katie. Frgot her name.

Should have listened to the reviews. Atmosphere was was typical pub type. Was not busy at all but waited 10 minutes before anyone said we could sit anyplace we liked. Server asked us twice if we wanted to order AFTER we already ordered. Then had to ask him twice to check on our food. When it can it was barley warm. I ordered a St. Charles burger rare but came out medium well. Server seemed more interested in talking with the other staff members then waiting on the two tables he had. May give it another go but probably not for a long time.

Food is very good. Menu is somewhat diverse. Mostly burgers and the typical sandwiches, Reuben, Buffalo chicken, etc. They have great pulled pork nachos. There are no drink specials ever. Atmosphere is very warm, comfortable and the service is very good. Overall a good place, although slightly on the pricey side. For example Burgers are $11-$13.

We had our baby shower here, rented out the top floor. Absolutely beautiful!!! The food was incredible (chicken fajita barso so yummy. Did a signature sangria drink, and people raved over it. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone, we will most certainly use this venue again! Everything was easy and went flawlessly.

Great food, great service in an awesome atmosphere. My waitress, Lynnea, was fantastic. Last night they hosted the Coats for Kids benefit and they were packed but the service and quality of food remained top notch! Coleslaw is the best I have EVER had!! I returned tonight!!

Service was great but the food was ok. It could have used more seasoning. However when we got there we had 30 mins till the kitchen was closing and that could have been the reason why our food lacked seasoning. Will give this place another try.

My brother-in-law and his gorgeous wife had their wedding after party here and let me tell you, what a great experience it was! The staff were right on top of things especially when trying to handle the big crowd of people that came. The food was great and the drinks were potent! Great for the price! One of the bartenders was a bit on the rude side, but other than that, it was a pleasant experience!

The fish tacos were excellent! They have a moderately sized, nice selection of beer. The staff was excellent! Even when the hostess couldnt make it to work unexpectedly, the waitresses took over and still did a great job covering both roles. I will definitely be back. Nice atmosphere too.
