Playful destination with vintage video games on display & a gaming area with classic titles.
Booked a party (for 11 adults); everyone had a great time; staff were great to deal with (especially when last minute I asked to extend!). Great for a relaxed birthday shindig where everyone can find something to entertain themselves (from nintendogs to guitar hero to a mariocart 64 tournament or just chilling out on the couch or in the museum). I would book again.
Really informative about the history of console games, and it was also a lot of fun to play the classic games. The person running it was super friendly and helpful as well.I spent almost a whole day here on a recent trip to Perth and really enjoyed it.
Excellent collection of old and rare gaming consoles since the very beginning. Also has a gaming area to try out many of the classics.. personally I went for duck hunt. 😁
A walk down memory game. Lots of old consoles on display, and powered up to play. Can recommend.
Came here with the family and they loved it. The owner is a very nice, polite person. Pay once and can stay for the rest of the day. We went out to lunch and returned and continued playing. If you liked retro gaming or gaming in general come here to play as much as you like. Cheaper than going to arcade. Highly recommended to kill time and have fun.
Spent 2 hours here but could easily have spent the whole day! 😀Fantastic experience with an infinite amount of cool stuff and super passionate staff!
Awesome museum, heaps of games to play, the best staff
Super cool place to see and very informative. Also lots of games on different consoles to enjoy.A very enjoyable visit.
My family and I just spent our last day in Perth at the nostalgia box. What a great idea and concept. The owner was very friendly and kind. It was so fun to be taken back to our childhood, THANK YOU
Went with my two sons (12 and 11). Had a great time. Amazing for me to see things that i played with as a kid in perspex boxes as museum items. My youngest is loves his switch, PS etc, so was fascinated in being able to see the old consoles that he has only watched on YouTube! We all had a great time playing on teh old consoles - staff were very friendly and helpful.
Absolutely lovely place to remember old videogames and play them!! They have a fair variety of consoles that represent the history of videogames. Plus you can play a wide variety of them in old TVs! How cool is that 😅🙌
👾LOVED👾the visit! There is a big variety of old gaming consoles to try and a relaxed atmosphere with not too many people. Good location away from the hustle and bustle of the main drag. We didn’t have to wait to play on any consoles. The store person was really friendly and helpful and overall a wicked experience! Recommended for all ages and a great place for kids birthdays if they’re into games.
Booked 2.5 hours at The Nostalgia Box for my 30th birthday this afternoon and had an amazing time.Plenty of retro games and consoles to chose from, which brought back some very fond childhood memories. The owner, Dave, made us all feel very welcome and was happy to answer any questions we had.10/10 experience 🙂
Small venue. Very busy many more people than games, we pre booked but there were way more people there than we had expected. Weve never been before, assumed the booking system was a way of managing people and we booked two weeks ago not realising like another reviewer stated that it was the last day of the school holidays so we should have known. Im not sure how we knew when we booked the whole afternoon appeared to be unbooked online. We really appreciate the owner reaching out to us, thank you.
good look back at the past but recommend not going during school holidays. parents sitting on the couch with young ones running wild do not make a plesent experience.
First time visitor with my son. Loved it, especially the old interactive consoles. Staff were friendly and professional. Will be back.
Dont cave to the 1 star reviews. It was on them for booking on the busiest day of the school holidays. Dont give them free stuff. You guys have a wicked place. Keep doing what you do!
This place manages to bridge the gap between Gen X parents & millennials. I’ve taken my teenagers here for a quiz night but also to just pop in. It’s way cooler & better value than Timezone. My parents would say it was “hip” because they aren’t. Nostalgia Box is mintox and I will always be Queen of Galaga.🕺🦆
Amazing place, even for old guys like me. Great staff, awesome experience.
I havent been in quite a while, but I really do miss checking out the consoles and different areas inside! Looking forward to visiting again when Im back in Perth! An absolutely fantastic place if youre nostalgic for video games of yore.
We went for our anniversary - both of us love games and being able to play duck hunt again (when I havent since leaving my family and NES back homewas amazing <3 Nice people, awesome topic, great collection. Such an awesome experience!
Such an incredible experience! It was so much fun taking a trip down memory lane & showing my son the games & consoles we played on in the 80s.Recommend 100 times over!
Have been to Nostalgia Box a few times and always enjoyed it. Fantastic collection of consoles and good variety of games available to play.Visited midweek so has always been quiet when I went. Weekends can be busy.
I went to this place once as a kid and once as an adult, and I have loved it both times. It’s so good to play the games from my past for a quick trip down memory lane. Staff are nice, polite and super helpful. Everyone is trying their best to give customers the best experience possible, and it shows! Please, if you got kids that like video games or are a kid at heart that wants to revisit old games, go here. It’s so worth it. ❤️
A unique venue. Awesome to have a place like this in Perth. Keep up the hard work
We attended the Pokemon and Pizza day and loved it. Great spot to spend the day for kids and big kids at heart. Good selection of retro games and consoles. Some fun craft activities for the kids on their special events. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Thanks for the fun day out
Great time playing the old style games consoles, and showing the kids how its done for a change! Thanks
A great retro gaming museum that brings back memories of the good old days of classic games. You can play the games too. The owner is very friendly and gives a tour of the history of consoles. Highly recommended
Fantastic morning listening to a short history of the gaming history, and then playing on the original machines featured in the talk. Owner is passionate about his business, and you can tell in the way in which the whole museum is run
Personally I thought this place was brilliant. The kids loved it and it brought back lots of great memories for me. I think it would be great for functions as well! 👍
What a fantastic place. I actually booked this place out for my husbands 40th birthday party. Young and old had a ball. Liz was great. She organized everything, even a gaming tournament with a trophy at the end. If youre after something a bit different, loads of fun with no stress - please consider this place for a party or else just drop in and have a blast from the past playing all the great games from your child hood!
Amazing! Not only did the kids have fun, but we had as much fun reminiscing the games of pur childhood and sharing it with our kids (who like the old style more than ypu would think)On top of the experience, our host was amazing and patient with us, and was a pleasure to work with.Highly recommend for kids or adults!!
Well worth a visit for any video game fan, even with those with just a fleeting interest. I enjoyed playing games of yesteryear and wondering where my reactions have gone!Make sure you book in advance so youre assured you can get in.
Great place and a ‘judgement free zone’ - I’m a grown adult and spent about 30 minutes repeating ‘Jack’ and ‘Harvey’ trying to name my Nintendogs... Can someone please feed them while I’m away? & go easy on the treats, Jack is on a diet.
Omg mind blowing! My only problem I didnt book longer. So much info about the first consoles up untill the ones they have these days. Love it
Love the place. The entrance fee is not bad it is worth it. It is small but it has a lot to see. Its really back to the past. If you love video games you will enjoy it here. You can even play the video games here, super cool.
Always been a computer game player since the early 80s, this was like a walk down memory lane. Ended up stuck on Galaga, awesome!
I took my 7yo boy here and we had a great time taking a walk through the history of the consoles... laughing about what I thought was technology and graphics when I was his age! We played lots of old games and enjoyed the 1.5hour visit. Easy to get to by train (PERTH stationor park.
Fantastic! Great place to visit if you’re in Perth for a few days. Really reasonably priced and unexpectedly takes a good amount of time to read and play a bunch of games.Absolutely fantastic to be able to see so many cool consoles and games and actually get to play many of them in their original form!I hadn’t seen half of the consoles and games that were on show and it was really interesting to read about the rise and fall of different companies. Staff are also so nice with providing assistance with games, as well as changing the games with the consoles you can play on.Overall a fantastic place to visit with a variety of things to see and play, not to mention the enthusiastic and friendly staff, definitely worth a visit!
Great experience! Brought back fond childhood memories of my Atari VCS 2600 and the hours spent mashing buttons in smoky arcades on the galaga and pac man machines
A must visit for 80s kids. The name says it all - the museum, albeit a small one, has exhibits depicting the history of the gaming industry, from the 1940s to the 2000s and onward. The place also allows you to play classic games on classic consoles and arcade games, such as Super Mario, Mortal Kombat and Sonic the Hedgehog. The founder was there when i visited and was very friendly. Definitely worth the entrance fee.
Came for a work team building activity.Great fun with the old consoles, shooting game and multiplayer Mario kart tournament.Everyone likes Mario kart. Our host was very informative and helpful.Very effective for team building, probably would never come on my own though.
A great small museum of retro consoles. Its great to see all the different consoles from various eras and explanations of how they impacted the video game industry. At the back there are a few consoles which you can play and try out. Little kids would be amazed what counted as video games back in the day. They offer bookings for parties here too.
Great venue. Was here for a private function. They hire it out after hours. Good vintage fun. Recommend it.
Awesome place, we didnt know it was there and was invited to a launch party. Kids loved it, so did the adults👍. A real walk down the gaming memory lane, growing up in the 80s using an "Intellivision" with games like Tron - Deadly Disks, B 17 Bomber and Space Armada. I thought no way they will have that console there. Yep, they did, along with pretty much every game console released. They also have playable consoles from the early 90s that you can sit and play on. Well worth a few hours of your time. It was great to show the kids, who are accustomed to using IPads, PS4s and Xbox Ones how much fun you can have playing Artaris Pong ha!🤯
Had a fun trip down memory lane. Look at and learn about old game consoles. Theres memorabilia to be bought if that appeals to you, a selfie corner with retro gaming props. There are also various game consoles with games for visitors to experience. These games are changed from time to time. There are also old school coin operated arcade machines to experience. Our favourite during our visit? Pong! You cant keep a good classic down!
Best place ever. We had a blast. Just wish we could have stayed and played THPS all day. Nice people working there too.
Reasonably priced ticket entry at 16.50 AUD per adult. The museum isnt all that large but we ended up spending an hour there anyway. The tour is self guided. It starts with a small tour of gaming consoles in chronological order. Seeing all the gaming devices from Atari to Super Nintendo and all the way to the PS3 brought back some wonderful memories. Visitors then get to actually play some classics on actual vintage consoles! My wife and I had a whale of a time playing duck hunt, pacman and other old games! Worth the visit.
Ive been a few times and Ive never had anything less than an amazing experience. If youre not a fan of reading, then the museum wont take too long for you to clear. However, if youre someone who doesnt mind the odd bit of learning, then theres a whole lot packed into that small space! The arcade is a great place to chill out, play old favourites and destroy your friends, and its also got a pretty good game selection, so dont let whats out on display fool you into thinking thats all there is.
Relaxed. Totally professional. Spectacular range of consoles, most with boxes, from the early 1970 to today. A number of machines are hooked up to CRT TVs for hands-on play. If youre into retro gaming, this is a must-visit destination. Feels like a genuine labour of love has gone into curating this collection and the $16.50 entry fee is worth every cent.
