The No4 Pub - Gastropub in Blackpool, United Kingdom
It was a fair meal, I say this because the week before we saw the food coming out of the kitchen and it looked hot and well presented , it was Sunday afternoon and we went in for lunch , ordered drinks and food and before we got halfway down the pint the food was served, it was cooked a little to quickly for my liking almost like it was microwave but it wasnt red-hot. The waiter forgot the cutlery so he ran back to the bar and said enjoy . I ordered a chicken Sunday lunch and like I said it wasnt that hot and the chicken was just I slice like something you get from tesco , the yorkshire pud was missing its top and not sure why .I was asked if I enjoy the meal and I did say it was fair and the barman said to be honest the cook was on her day off and apologise for the temporary cook , would I go again ? To be fair I drove 10 minutes to get to the number four but 10 minutes in the other direction I know of a carvery that is a little bit more expensive but you get a better hotter and meat carved off the bone .If I ate there again I would ring up to see who was in the kitchen .
Good food
Great food , one of the nicest angus burgers ive ever had .Quick service and reasonable prices .Well worth a visit .I will be going again .
Good value, excellent ale and friendly staff. Food is really nice and freshly cooked.
Absolutely lovely meal for a reasonable price piping hot, although it took a while to arrive, it was clearly not done in microwave, and was cooked from fresh , could of had more it was that nice
Food very good...had to wait a while for the meal bit staff very helpful would recommend 👌
Having recently moved to the are we thought we would try our new local. Very friendly welcome from Sarah, welcoming us to the area and informing us what goes on each day there. Food was very good and a good selection of drinks, very reasonably priced too.Only slight criticism would be tables should be cleared and wiped down sooner after a customer has left.
Amazing Sunday dinners , got the supersize Sunday dinner with all meats, deffo worth it
Waiting over an fir food when it came not nice
Very nice pub food was fantastic..
Great Sunday lunch ,loads of it cooked really well enjoyed everything . Great service thanks Bev would definitely recommend.
Went for a snack on a Sunday, liked the look of the Sunday dinner, but we were well satisfied when a fantastic omelette was served, really nice service too
Food was good but we waited just on an hour without anyone informing us.my husband got up an asked and she was very nice about it and apologised as they were really busy. Over all nice freindly pub and nice food.
Yeah good pub.DartsPoolFoodBeer.what more can you want!Friendly staff too
Onion rings were solid, nachos were soggy, dripping in salsa, no guacamole and no jalepenos, when having asked where the jalepenos and guacamole were they brought them out but still inedible, I’m never one to complain in a pub/restaurant but this was very poor food especially having waited over half hour for it, really disappointing!
Lovely pub great atmosphere and great food
Nice friendly, cosy place. wonderful staff really recommend
Always great service and food is gorgeous! Steak was cooked absolutely perfect!
Friendly staff, good choice of food and desserts and the food was very good.
Had 2 Sunday lunches, Ham baguette and 2 club sandwiches all for under £35.Top quality meals - will definitely be going back 😋
Good value for money staff very pleasantNice food
The food was excellent and plenty of it .The service was first class would recommend to anyone .
Excellent meal at great prices great service would definitely recommend a visit
What an amazing place! Delicious food and drink at a very good price. Bev was an amazing server and sorted everything out for out table of 17 at a short notice! Credit to Kelly the chef for the food and the timely manner it came out in!
Nice pub, friendly service... didnt have food so unable to coment
Just discovered this pub lately . Lovely staff and great food .Well worth a visit
Jodie is best landlady ever friendly and welcoming food first rate.
What a great little place. The food was great, the staff are awesome, and the ambience is perfect for a pleasant meal with good friends. We will be back.
Bev and her team are fantastic. We just had my husbands 60th birthday party there. Food fantastic service excellent. Definitely be back again. Couldnt fault anything. Bev your a star. Thank you.
Moving to blackpool found no 4 near house where I buying house so will be my local staff spot on chatty helpful from the geordie lad
I love real ale, and the food is all very good, recommend the hunters chicken oh the beef burgers 🍔 is a winner.
Sunday night so was pretty quiet. Not been there for a long time but really enjoyed the visit and will be back sooner rather than later.
Had presentation night here for west coast sports food was spot on all staff was friendly and very helpful considering england was playing and the pub was very busy. We had a great night and will defo be back ever week wiv our team on sundays in new season.
The service is poor and is run by a team that lack customer service skills.Food is good but won’t be coming back due to the service or lack of it.
If I could give 0 stars I would! I would rate the food if we actually got it! After having seriously bad experience a few weeks ago we decided to go again and give them the benefit of the doubt How wrong could we be! After a young lad taking our order of drinks and food (without writing it downwe waited a good 10 minutes without our drink order coming over however after siting there patiently a lady then came over asking if we had ordered in which we advised her we have .. another 10 minutes went by and nothing even though other peoples drinks was being served at the table even though they ordered after us after 25 minutes of the first young lad coming over and taking our order another young lad then came over asking if he could take our order! Obviously we explained that we had ordered our drinks and food a long time ago and told them to forget it and walked out. It is a shame as we used to go here a lot however now it is run by a group of young, useless, rude and basically incompetent young teenage boys. It is safe to say we will not be returning again. If you want my advice save your money and go somewhere else
Its a pub run for local people, bar and food prices are reasonable, service is first class, bar staff are very pleasent which is hard to do with all the covid rules!!!
Nice food, friendly staff good practice of new rules. Member of staff who took the order even though he wrote it down still got it wrong. Some staff training probably wouldnt go amiss.
Lovely pub friendly and quick service food is lovely good portions and very good on prices. Have a nice seating area outside and have taken my dogs there and sat outside and had lunch. Have a very good selection on their menu . They even brought a bowl of water out for our dogs. There Sunday roast dinners are to die for lovely big Yorkshire puddings and pay a little extra to have super sized which is bit of all the meats so delicious would definitely recommend this pub.
Lovely friendly staff, good food, thourly enjoyed
Reasonably tidy pub with a very diverse clientele, the ale was in great condition on our visit, and the food was good, plentiful and very reasonably priced. There was a mixup with our order and the manager did all she could to put it right.
Organised a buffet for 22 people, food was exceptional. Hot & cold buffet cheeseboard & desserts. Would recommend for get togethers, birthday parties etc. You will not be disappointed with the buffets, wide selection to suit all tastes including vegetarians.
Hello, my name is Adolf Schmitt and I came here hearing good things from people like the Queen saying that this place was 13/10. I was traveling around the country and somehow took a detour to this establishment and when I entered felt at home. Drunk people dancing and singing and a bar with all my favourite foods. However, when I ordered my chicken it came dead and without a head. I am disappointed and when I order chicken I expect it to be alive and well ready to eat.
I/we have been visiting the No 4 regularly for the past couple of years.I think I may qualify as a Bonafide regular now.Without going over the top, theres always a warm welcome from the staff, especially Atlanta, Katy and Katie, and they seem to be able to keep their staff too which says something about what the place is like to work for under Wes and Jodie.Big ups also to Chef Kelly, she never disappoints with the quality of food she presents. Ive eaten most things off the menu now, and I cant recommend Thursday Mexican night enough.
Went for the first time since the early 80s , never eaten there before , WOW what a find ... The food could compete with the likes of miller and carter but at a third of the price , drink prices are very competitive and the staff very helpful and friendly , Ill definitely be going again !
Great food at really low prices, along with a comfy atmosphere and kids hosts. A nice place to go for a quick bite and a drink.
Been here quite a few times. Back room is relaxed atmosphere and pool/darts TV. The rest of the pub and seating is also relaxed. good drinks but a preferred pub compared to others because its quieter and friendly
I visited the Pub with my girlfriend hoping for some decent Pub Grub. It was about 5pm & not busy. There was a group of men who had obviously called in straight from work judging by their builders/painters clothes...We had plenty of choice where to sit so took a table by the window. My girlfriend went to the bar for drinks (wed recently been in an horrific car crash from which we were lucky to survive so I couldnt carry drinks due to broken hand being in plaster)She was subjected to some unpleasant sexual comments from the group of workmen. The lady behind the bar reprimanded them but they continued their unwanted suggestive foul language...Im no Angel when it comes to swearing but loud in a public place is a no no. Regardless we opted to stay & eat. The menu was limited but reasonably priced. I went for homemade cheeseburger & fries. Janet chose a pasta dish...After ordering at the bar we waited over 30 minutes before the food arrived. There were few others eating so that seemed a little excessive...The meals were awful. My burger came without cheese & no chips. Instead there were 2 or 3 uncooked boiled potatoes. The burger was cold & not cooked. It was clearly all from the freezer not home made as per the menu. Janet was served a different pasta meal than ordered. Hers was also lukewarm...The young girl whod brought the meals was embarrassed when we pointed out our reasons for being disappointed. She didnt offer to take them away & bring meals wed actually ordered that were hot....She seemed wary to pass on our complaints to the Chef (I doubt he was qualified - no one who cares about the standard of food they prepare would serve such unappetising meals - not to mention them being different to ordered)As we picked at the meal the Chef actually appeared at a nearby table as other diners were unhappy with their meals. His manner was aggressive & his attitude was one of refusal to accept the standard of food hed prepared could be inedible. He looked scruffy & not fussed about hygiene. He spent more time drinking at the bar than cooking - not a good sign of a professional or decent Chef IMOThe young waitress then spoke to him & pointed at us. He came over & was unpleasant & wouldnt listen. He walked away back to the kitchen with no offer to replace our meals...Meanwhile an old lady & her daughter at the next table to us had received their fish & chips meals (it was Friday so on offer). Theyd also had a long wait & were disgusted as the fish was cold & a strange, pale colour. Their chips looked reheated & also cold...It was far from a pleasant experience or atmosphere. The continued raised voices of the foul mouthed workmen added to that...I used to frequent The No4 often in the late 70s/80s. It was one of THE in places to drink. The standards from then to now cant be compared. Poor doesnt describe it. Sad..We rarely complain & eat out at least twice a week. Tbh weve not had cause to complain as Pubs are in competition for custom so its not often meals served arent as per the menu - and warmWith no offer to replace or refund we left & went further down the road to the No3 where we enjoyed good meals at a good price & served with a smile....Maybe the day we visited the No4 the staff were new or simply not up to it. It was unacceptable & all you can do is politely point out why as we did. Ironically, as we left, the Chef was at another table talking loudly to unsatisfied customers...Id return to The No4 if I felt assured that the below standard problems that existed have been resolved - and recent reviews suggest new management has focused on sorting substandard issues out. I have many fond memories of times spent in that Pub. My last visit wasnt one (understatement lol)*This is an explanation why I left a 1 star rating as requested. Our visit was not today (16th April 2018as shown but in Autumn 2017 (exact date not recalled)
Lovely pub. Very friendly atmosphere staff couldnt be more helpful. Whole place was nice and clean including the Toilets. Ample parking for designated drivers!
Why does the chef spend more time outside the kitchen than he does in there? Decided to give this pub another chance after trading standards prosecuted last time but wish I hadnt! Burger undercooked & bar understaffed!! When youre eating your tea & you see an unshaven chef standing at the bar it leaves a bad taste in your mouth - a bit like the food. 3 burgers all undercooked (Pink in the middleso had to ask for a refund!! Chef stood there telling bar maid theyre not!!
Had a really pleasant evening with the missus sat outside watching the world go by. Decided to go in & eat as it began to cloud over & was very pleasantly surprised. The food was very well priced & portion sizes were excellent too. We enjoyed our Mushrooms (starter), and the Lasagne (with Garlic Bread& Steak n Mushroom Pudding (+ chips, peas & gravy). Staff were friendly & helpful, the overall experience was very satisfying. Keep up the good work No4 & see you soon, Andy & Vicky xx
