Breakfast, steaks, burgers and cocktails in a laid-back all-day coffee house/diner/bar by the sea.
This is perhaps the best breakfast brunch I have had in Brighton. I honestly had no expectations walking in here, but the food was really delicious and even looked great. We had the Mexican eggs and the sweetcorn fritters. Both really filling and full of good flavours. I will definitely come back and recommend to friends.
I visit the new club on pride Saturday and service was so good we returned on Sunday too.During our visit nothing was too much to ask for and they gave my mother a comfortable chair and looked after my dietary requirements.I wasn’t going to comment on a situation that happened but seeing an incredibly untrue comment on this I’ve felt the need to.I saw a member of staff being cursed at and abused by a man when he was clearly doing his best under fierce pressure on one of Brighton’s busiest days of the year. The man was asked to leave after I heard him say F you and F the chef loudly, and rightly so!Once he left (and his friends stayed behind apologeticallythe feel good vibe returned and we had a marvellous evening at new club. The last thing I would say is that staff looked overworked and should be commended for their fantastic work over pride weekend
I love this place. The menu is inspired and the food is great. Try the Mexican eggs, they are SO good.
The New Club BrightonWhat a totally embarrassing and a prime example of bad service.I called into this establishment this afternoon along with several friendsWe were given our table and had to arrange it ourselves to make sure that we had enough table space and seating for our party...We were given our food menus and a couple of minutes later asked for our drinks order then they realised that we hadnt been given the drinks menu.... several minutes later drinks ordered and duly served... I had ordered a raspberry cider but was given a ordinary cider good enough it was taken away but seconds later the waiter returned to inform me that they didnt have any raspberry cider and I would need to reorder my drink. The food waiter appeared and I asked them for my replacement drink which he made a note of as I waited with no refreshment. The food waiter started to take my party’s food order and when they got to me, I ordered the New York Strip Steak which had walnuts added to it... Me being allergic to nuts asked for mine without the walnuts. I was told that this was impossible as the chef’s policy is not do it as they would have to isolate off part of the kitchen to be sure the meal was not going to be contaminated by nuts.He then informed my that I could order any other meal from the menu but not the one with nuts...I pointed out that one of my party had also ordered the same meal and surely, I was at risk no matter what meal I ordered if that meal was not cooked in isolation in the kitchen and the chef had to look at their ludicrous f*cking policy (total frustration)At this point I was informed that I was not going to be served and if I did not leave, they would not only refuse to serve me but they would refuse to serve the rest of my party.... At this point I was totally embarrassed and we were being watched by several other patrons in the restaurant. I was also informed twice by the waiter that I needed to go to mass and speak with the priest about my terminology. I informed him that had no right to try and press his religious views upon me and I made my exit watched by my party and many of the restaurant patrons... I felt totally embarrassed and ashamed for my allergy through no fault of my own.
Booked a table and asked for GF and dairy free options. When we arrived one of the staff members had hand written out all the options that were both gluten and dairy free and had added some options which werent on the menu. Made us feel welcome straight away. Great location overlooking the sea and good food.
Really great breakfast options
Good good with lots of options . Outdoor seating area overlooking the sea. Cocktails are tasty - try the Oo la la sangria for something different
Great brunch and cocktails. Terrace dining for the win!
Been coming here for years. As always the decor is nice, furnishings are comfortable and the space is light and airy. The menu is slightly different these days but the food is as delicious as ever. The coffee is still great and the staff are always really chill and friendly. Highly recommended brunch spot.
First time: Awesome food, amazing atmosphere and view, and good service. 5 stars.Second time: Good food, nice atmosphere, mediocre/poor service. 4 stars.
Excellent place to have brunch w/ friends.Nice view on the ocean.I have been one of the first to test their new Banana bread French toast, and I can tell you must try it.A mariage of flavours.
Its hard to recommend a specific dish to go for as I’ve been here a few times to try the range on the menu… every time its been absolutely amazing. All I can say is the fish and chips are sooo good (that batter thoughthe veggie/vegan breakfast works so well and I’m a big fan of the hard banoffee shake. Kudos to who ever is running that kitchen or designed the menu!
Highly recommended Amercicsn diner, Ive enjoyed the Mexican Baked Eggs on a number of occasions. Great service, great food and great environment
Below average. Food looks great but absolutely tasteless. I would have enjoyed eating a rubber tire more
Went here for brunch. Always good to see vegan options but the food was pretty average and not cheap. Picture here is of the vegan breakfast. Wouldnt order again as very unexciting.
Ate here after a work trip to Brighton - service was great, food was decent. Liked the fish tacos and that the batter was gluten free.GF buns available for the burgers. Veggie optionsLocation is next to British Airways attraction.
Food was good! We had a Vegan Breakfast and Avocado chili salad on toast. Really yummy. The lattes were on the small side but very good.Great views amd service was prompt.Overall great experience and good value for money.
I asked if I could sit at the back near a window which was agreed. A very loud staff member then asked the waiter what "she" was doing there, which I could hear across all the other customers and she promptly told me I had to move. I only wanted a cup of coffee, and decided to leave as theres plenty of friendlier cafes nearby. No one did sit at that table as I noticed passing by, so not sure what the fuss was about.
Friendly welcome and fully embraced the table online ordering. Food was delicious and pretty faultless. Not the cheapest but location was superb so I gues it all events out
Great food!!! Nice drinks!! Friendly service. All the ingredients for me to give 5 stars!
This is hands down the best roast I have had in years! I will 100% be back for this roast. The trimmings were delicious. Gravy was perfect. The service was exceptional. The refresher cocktail was so good
I visited with friends and my baby daughter. The staff was super helpful and nice. The bloody Mary and the breakfast martini are particularly lovely! We had a lovely time and is not too expensive for the quality of the food and drinks. Will visit again
We hired out the room underneath the main restaurant for a baby shower brunch. The team were so friendly and accommodating when making the booking. The food was great and we were so impressed that all the food came out together considering there were 22 people eating and a full restaurant upstairs too. They came down to check on us for drinks continuously throughout the time we were there. We had a really great day, would definitely hire out again.
This place was incredible. I would give it another star if I could. We booked for a large group and it was so simple. The staff were amazing and friendly. Vic in particular was fantastic. She went above and beyond to help us enjoy our meal.I am gluten free and normally dont like eating out but the food here was good and it was filling. Vic made it seem like I was special rather than the awkward one.The cocktails are amazing and the whole interior is beautiful from the view of the sea to the lovely glassware
Quite expensive, but very tasty and unique. Their brunch menu is brilliantly conceived and utterly delicious, great cocktails too, even if its not great value. Book to avoid disappointment.
Despite being slammed, they were so accommodating at finding me a seat at the bar. The Bloody Mary was incredible., the food was outstanding. Definitely recommend.
Brunch was delicious, the breakfast martini is my go-to cocktail here! Trendy place with a good atmosphere
The most delicious roast around and great service too. Highly recommended treating yourself to a Sunday roast here.
The food is so good we ended up here 2 days in a row!!First thing: its a fairly small space so make a reservation to avoid disappointment. My partner had a full English which he said was one the best he has ever had. I had the Mexican eggs and they were to DIE FOR!! Cooked to perfection, the flavours just everything. We then shared banana hazelnut pancakes which were out of this world and a perfect sweet treat. We had a watermelon and cherry cola cocktail which were also fantastic. The service was brilliant, quick and efficient and it was just fantastic brunch all round!!
Had the 3 meat roast and was not disappointed. Great food and service and lots of both! Ill be back.
Lovely cafe with a great view of the sea. The coffee is top class and the breakfast options we tried - both vegan and the pancakes were delicious and hearty. The staff is nice and the ambience is nice and old world. Interesting history of the place and some events you see around the decor
Really lovely food and amazing views of the sea.Trendy and great atmosphere.
Lovely dinner, especially the steak and chips. Waiting staff are attentive, friendly and welcoming. Beers are a bit weird, the lager looks like an ale, and the IPA looks like a lager. Highly recommended.
Great food, great staff, great location. Went for breakfast twice in the 2 days I was visiting and I have no regrets!
We decided to go to this place in our visit to the city. When we arrived we didnt think we have chosen the place it was described in the reviews as it didnt look really nice but we decided to try anyway.I have to say we were all surprised. The cocktails were incredible and I have to say that we ordered different types but all of them were made perfectly. The food was also an incredible surprise. Everything was so tasty that any of us left anything on the dishes. We had three dogs in the restaurant with us and all the staff were super nice. We have an amazing time and we will definitely repeat here if we come back to Brighton.
We had an excellent brunch overlooking the seafront. Not super cheap, but really excellent food and drinks.
Interesting and tasty menu. Great coffee and juice. Really fast service. Brunch today was just perfect.
Really great! Ive been a few time for brunch and lunch. Lovely location, especially in the sun! Really friendly and helpful staff, and lovely selection of food and drinks - especially the cocktails. The eggs are my go to! Yum!
Had such a lovely meal here. The england semi final was on so we had the whole resteraunt and waiting staff to ourselves. They were such lovely people. Ishbel was especially lovely!
Solid Brighton establishment. Friendly and attentive service. Really nice, cool decor. And the food was really good - had mix of starters then bbq crispy tofu, and friends had burgers. Only things stopping this being five stars is a slider wider veggie menu
Freakin amazing. I would eat here everyday if I could
Great food, good service and nice atmosphere. Absolutely recommended! We had English breakfast and eggs Benedict, amazing!
Highly recommend this place for breakfast or brunch! Poached eggs, salmon and avocado were Delicious, however the English breakfast could have been better (I strongly suggest changing the bacon, it was very hard and dry)Keep it up
Great bruch! A fresh and revitalising experience.Being there last week for brunch in a really hot day, we were really satisfied in overall. The service was friendly and fast, the seats nice but a bit small tho. We ordered the soft shell crab taco which was beautifully presented, juicy and really tasty.I had the full English breakfast, definitely one of the best I had in a long time. The bacon was unreally crispy, the sausage was meaty and aromatic. I was also happily surprise with fresh bakes beans and not the usual canned one. Only thing, the bread was probably too hard.My partner went for the Vegetarian tofu dish, at the begin I was honestly sceptical because not many restaurants around can actually make tasty and fulfilling vegetarian food. I was greatly surprised at the sight of the asian inspired, sublime looking dish, the combination of tastes and colours was explosive and it had a great mix of textures that blends really well. The restaurant offer a nice variety of drinks and coffees. Definitely recommend this place for breakfast and lunch to customers of all ages.
Went here for a quick brunch on a sunny summer day in Brighton. I didn’t have much time so asked how long food wait would be and I came in a fraction of the time. Had a lovely table out on terrace and server was great, very helpful despite being new. Had a iced latte and club toast. The salad dressing was delicious and chilli added a welcome kick to make it a different twist on avo toast - very fresh and good for a light brunch. The filled rolls with hash browns looked quite good too (observing neighbouring tables). Only negative was the poached egg was hard yolk rather than runny. Had to wait for my drink after food arrived but no issues when I asked the server about it. Higher end of price range compared to similar places in Brighton but not off-putting. Would definitely go back!
I don’t want to highly recommend The New Club simply for the fact we will go the next time we visit Brighton and we don’t want to be any busier than it is already. And deserves to be.The last 2 trips to Brighton because of where we stay we came across The New Club and haven’t ventured anywhere else for brunch. The staff are attentive, helpful and friendly and the food is very good. My wife recommends the Mexican eggs and I tend to have the English which is made from good quality ingredients. I’d also suggest the chilli tequila Bloody Mary for something different. The New Club is a large airy room with plenty of natural light and a tall ceiling so it feels spacious and when it is busy doesn’t get too loud. there is also a downstairs room for larger groups but you may need to pre book this, check with the venue.
Nice brunch in a good location overloking the seafront. The cooked English breakfast was tasty with the coffee very smooth. Nicely furnished and pleasant service.
Such warm and friendly service. The cocktails are great, and the cajun spiced buttermilk chicken burger may be the best burger Ive had in a long time.
Mexican eggs aka huevos rancheros were utterly incredible. Virgin bloody Mary was moderate, the wait for menus was long but the pancakes made up for all that. Most venues should suceed in this location but these guys are not relying on just that.Clean toilets & polite staff Id come back... when im hungry.
Love a good Full English to start the day.Wheelchair access ❌ inside area is small, there is a step to get in and no accessible toilets. There is an outside area though for fair weather days.
