Classic corner pub with banquettes serving draught ales, plus an upstairs dining room for pie menu.
Solid pub for after work drinks! Thursday is the new Friday. Not sure about food. Don’t think they even do it but might be wrong. The vibe was great as any normal British pub would be in an evening.
Nice place 👌 fair prices for inside London!!
Great pub that often overspills into the street
Awful tasting beer, extremely flat beware of them serving in plastic cups.
Brilliant lively little pub, may only have had one but I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Love this place. Great staff, great location, great beer selection.
No food and only 1 real ale.
Lots of standing space outside which could be sitting benches, reasonable drinks
Came here for a good old pie. I have a high standard in meat pies coming Australia. But this meat pie was fantastic almost rivalled the best meat pies down under.
Late night bar spilling over the pavement. Worth visiting.
Good Guinness.. better than over the road in my opinion
Great relaxing atmosphere and nice beer.... And yes the gents are a challenge!
Good selection of drinks but too noisy.
Great atmosphere, lovely staff, very popular pub
Lovely pub in Soho. Staff are friendly, beer changes regularly and is always clean and you can get a pie. Would recommend it.
Tasty pies and beer!
My friend had a beer spilled on them by the bartender and the bartender tried to blame her for what was obviously their mistake. Shame because I liked the place up up until then but I wont be back anytime soon after this.
A lovely little pub in the heart of Soho. Its relitively small environs can get a little crowded at times, but this is mitigated by the fact that, in clement weather, you can also stand outside whilst sipping your pint.Getting to the gents toilets is a bit of a mission if youre above average height. Just make sure you duck as you go downstairs to reach the toilets. No such issues with the womens lavatories, which are on the same floor as the main bar.It also has a nice upstairs room for private functions. I personally enjoyed being there for a birthday party a few years ago.Its great as a place to stop for a pint or two before heading off elsewhere or as somewhere to spend an afternoon or evening.
Lovely pub with great staff.
great pub, with friendly staff 👍
Decent enough pub, choice of three real ales and not too expensive by London standards.
Great selection of ales. Very friendly staff and owner. Out go-to pub in Soho :)
Fantastic West-End pub! great atmosphere, fairly price drinks and welcoming staff!
Nice atmosphere if you dont mind a bit of background noise and staff are chill
Great pub the food is amazing ( so my husband says , unfortunately I am gluten intolerant and they had removed the fish pie to add Christmas selections so there was nothing for me to eatall different types of pies. A great vibe and snug pub with eating upstairs. All the staff were realyl friendly and helpful.
I went here as I wanted something to eat and they serve Pieminister pies here. The location is easy to find, just off Soho Square. When I arrived I received a warm welcome and very helpful staff. The food was lovely and hot and well presented. Will go again when Im next in London.
Typical, musics on too loud, no space at the bar, swamped with beggers and vagrants.. Welcome to soho, saving grace, Camden Hells and Pale Ale on tap
Good pub but strong smell of stale beer around the bar and plenty of beer flys about including in my mates pint!
Nice place for a pint, cosy atmosphere. We didnt get to try the food as they had already finished but menu looked good.
My fave west end pub. It’s seen some changes in 20 years I’ve been going but never lost its character. Top boozer
A great bar. With a lovely staff crew . The place to go to for a fun lively pub . A soho gem
Pie and a pint. Delicious. Had the substantial steak and ale and the platter. Thoroughly recommend. 2 guys behind the bar were very friendly and quick to serve. Def going back.
A quirky corner street boozer in the heart of Soho. Lovely staff with a welcome. Good variety of beers with plenty of keg and a few casks for those who like their beer in the true English style. Pies are on the menu for anyone hungry. A lovely place for a pleasant pint.
Great pies but hate the toilets! Lol
Very nice pub, friendly, cozy and I hear the pies are fantastic (next time). Sectioned off area outside with heater lamps, which allow for those smokers to puff away feeling slightly warmer during those cold winter nights.
I stopped off for a couple of ciders. Had a relaxed time, cosy and welcoming, found staff very friendly. Their food looked amazing, though didnt have time to eat. With a return visit.
Was recommended from a friend to go here. Ordered Moodog Pie - British Beef Steak, Dry Cured Bacon, and Ale Pie. I was not a fan. I thought the pie would be more moist. I did not mind it but I do not think I would get it again.
Had heard a lot about this pub having a number of friends that had been to it. Decided to go and try the pies. WowYou won’t be disappointed. Well worth a visit.
Very friendly pub great atmosphere and pies !
Amazing atmosphere and such a chilled bar in the middle of London! Great service from Lucy and I loved the choice of draft beers!! Youve got to go there at least once :)
Perfect pie at The Pieminister upstairs, ate The Mothership with three sides - yummy, yummy! A Guinness at hand, great lunch at Soho.
Popular Soho boozer, and for good reason. Decent beer selection, lots of outdoor drinking areas on the street during the after work hours, and decent enough room inside. It is a solid stop on a pub crawl around the area.
When it comes to pies, I can’t say I’m a big fan. They’re usually a bit too heavy on the pastry side for my liking. But the pie’s at the Nellie Dean were by far some of the best I’ve had. The atmosphere is nice and relaxing, think traditional London pub and the staff are easy going and friendly. Firstly you get to choose your pie and they have got a pretty good selection including traditional favourites like steak and ale and chicken and mushroom, but there’s also some interesting combinations inspired by Mexican flavours and even seasonal favourites like a Rudolph pie for Christmas. You then get to choose from a range of sides like peas and mash and chips and of course a lovely gravy to pour all over. We opted for a steak and ale pie and a chicken and mushroom with a side of gravy and fired onions and some cheese. What we loved about he pies were the texture of the pastry which was a little crunch but overall soft and light as if it had been prepared fresh and not too think or doughy. And then the filling was delicious as the meat used was good quality, tasting flavourful without being too heavy and overpowering in the pie as a whole. We washed the food down with a few ales from local breweries and had a great lunch to set us for the day and night ahead. So if you’re stuck for good local food and want to try a great pie you should try the Nellie Dean.
Small but lovely atmosphere..we didnt go up stairs tho
Nice small pub. On most evenings youll find a large crowd enjoying pints in the street. They did carry Sierra Nevada beer in the past, but no longer - bring it back please :-)
Staff are really helpful and fast.Pies are great and this is another great hangout for the media crowd.Good to stand out on the pavement on a sunny day, see how many people you know pass by.Pubs like this are why Soho is such a great place to be.
Nice pub with great pieminister pies being served upstairs & down. if youre planning to eat upstairs at the pie shop, get your pint downstairs and take it up as theres far less selection upstairs. Never seems to be hugely busy which is great.
Friendly staff, quick service and very filling! The pies sound amazing on paper, but I found mine a little dry. I had the Heidi (veggie optionwith mash and cheese plus a side of beans. The price of the sides is a little high for the size of the things. In future Ill stick to just pie and mash to void buyers remorse.Might visit again and try another pie..
A nice corner pub in the heart of Soho, recently refurbished and with a decent selection of beers and ales on tap. It does get really busy after work though, so try and avoid between 5 - 8pm if you want a seat!Just a little hint, but sometimes the upstairs bar is open where you can get served a lot quicker than downstairs. The stairs up are located by the toilets.
This is a very nice pub, was surprised at how comfortable and good-looking it was. The staff were friendly, asked for a glass of water and it was brought within 2 minutes. A good evening. Nice atmosphere and good quality food, Clean restaurant, nice staff, good selection of food and drink. Elegant neighbourhood gem. Good presentation and friendly service. Further improvement should be expected, but for now have a romantic dinner in walking distance from home.
