Fun place, cozy atmosphere, great service, really nice choice of foods and GREAT dessert (that hot cookie dough with ice cream was amazing!! And Gary (the Chief Bottle Washer, according to his business cardoffered to email us the recipe - can’t wait). Strongly recommend for a great pub experience 👍🏻🇬🇧

Thoroughly enjoyed my time here. Reasonably priced. Bar service friendly and quick. Food was good. Comfortable seating inside and out.

We discovered this pub by accident and went there several times during our stay in London :-)The food is really nice, the beer (or cideris good, service is very friendly, and the outdoor area is a secluded retreat from the bustling of the nearby street.

Just a note their web site states 11am opening at moment it is 12 oclock .Great staff i go about twice a month but they remember my drink. It is not to busy early on during the day. Totally covid aware. Nice outdoor seating 15 separate tables with a heater for chilly days or nights. The garden is lovely with a big monkey puzzle tree. Great in the summer, shielded by the garden and all you can see is people crossing the road, you want a view go to Paddington Basin. The area outside has plenty of seating and some heaters. There good for smokers and non smokers. A fruit cider is £5. Enjoy. Its very cosy inside too. Very easy to get to 5 minute from edgware road or paddington station. They do food too. A few locals who are friendly and lots of tourists. Children welcome but I think only outside.

Took clients for lunch. Reheated frozen pizza was next to impossible to cut. Chicken burger was also reheated from frozen and was dry and over cooked. Pulled pork burger was probably the best choice but as my client said it just looks a mess. Sorry but the food did not hit the mark. The pub looks good with a lovely well maintained garden. The staff were friendly and the drinks were good, just let down by the food.

A very laid back, friendly, enjoyable pub, in the Paddington area…a little enclave off the street, decent food a good beers and cider on tap. A great place to relax and have a fun/friendly chat.

Found this pub by accident on the way back to our hotelFriendly staff going above and beyond offering my husband tasters of the different ales as he couldnt decide.It is a typical British pub we decided to stay and dine at the pub again a good choice my husband chose the house special pie and mash the pie was packed with beef that was really tender cooked in a rich gravy I had a crab and prawn burger unusual but again delicious.

Really nice pub with a good atmosphere. Staff was very friendly.

The prawn and crab burger was delicious as were the strawberries and cream. Service could have been better though thats why 4 instead of 5 stars.

A fantastic little pub a little way out from the hustle and bustle of central London. A short walk from Paddington station this is a great place to have a quiet drink before or after a train journey a bit further away from the more packed places close by. There is a great amount of seating indoors and outdoors and the prices are very reasonable for a London pub.

This little gem is fantastic. The pub inside is really bright and airy, the beer garden to the front is lush green and gets the sun most of the day, the owners are really hospitable, the drinks are great and the food is also awesome! You cant go wrong with this place.

Nice typical british pub. They serve appetizers, beef and pizza. Personally, I chosed Buttermilk cauliflower and House Special Beef & Mushroom Pie, great choices! Nice staff and great service, they were avaiable to accomodate my requests. I have a couple of comments, the closing time of the kitchen is limitating (9:30pm if I do remember well), there isnt a bathroom inside the building, last 1 comment is related to the Hawaiian pizza: What is the sense of the pineapple? Honestly, as italian I cant accept it ;Jokes apart, I wouldnt take a pizza revised in this way .

This classic traditional pub has great memories for my family so it was a special honour for the owner Gary to reserve a big space for us to have a family commemoration drink, while it was also a big day for national sport so everyone was heading to the pubs. Highly recommended.

Fantastic outdoor space, nice beer selection. I enjoyed a great meal and glass Remy ma. I finished my evening off with a large glass of house white. I recommend for family get togethers and after work drinks.

Took a chance on this particular pub and I’m really pleased we did. Reserved a table through the wonderful landlord who along with his staff made us feel extremely welcome! We shall be returning and sharing our experience with all our family & friends.Thanks again guys

Such a nice surprise! My partner and I live in Bayswater so we went for a walk to Paddington in search of a drink and stopped at the Monkey Puzzle. The servers were so nice and welcoming the moment we entered and made us feel special.We ordered the ribs and burger with a bottle of wine and they were both homemade and delicious. Have been craving the ribs for weeks!

Nice garden and friendly staff. Beer selection quite limited. Had the wings which were breaded, but with the bone still in. Would recommend to staff to make these boneless if breaded.

Lovely pub, like you see in Midsummer murders or any other murder mystery series. Friendly staff, happy staff. I had the mushroom and beef pai and it was nice. As all English food it lacked salt, because Im from Norway. Didnt appear as a problem, they also have salt you can use.They close at 11 PM (23as most pubs in London, which is good, since you have to get up in the morning to see the rest of London.If you dont like beer, try Thatchers Gold. A nice cider on tap.Ill be back! Location near hotels in Paddington. Visit it! Whitin 10 or 15 years, pubs like this will be rare in London.I loved it!

Very good pub with nice people. Typical pub food with quality ingredients, they served it quite fast. The pub has an outdoor area with chairs, tables and low couches. We enjoyed the food and the place.

How did I not review this the other times I’ve been here. It’s great. This time I went for the steak and mushroom pie. It was a new take on an old classic and a lot more healthy but super tasty. I always make a trip to the monkey puzzle when I travel through london. (I’m US based but often get a day layover.)

Cozy place with decent pizza and a good selection of beers. The pies and other English food also seems promising. Welcoming and service minded staff. This place was a great place to stay for a while when waiting for a train from Paddington. Definitely recommended.

Nice pub/restaurant. Spacious, warm and quick in service. Could be just a little cleaner as i saw a spider web on the ceiling near my table. The Sunday roast i had was tasty and the service was great. My friend ordered a dish that she didnt quiet like but they care about the customers feedback and came to us to ask how the food was and were more than willing to compensate my friend by replacing the order or by cancelling the item from our bill. Id visit them again.

Tip top local pub, only 7 minutes walk from Paddington.Great beers from the Badger brewery (Hall and Woodhouse), great service, friendly atmosphere and tasty food in generous portions.Lovely beer garden with lots if greenery - a little oasis in town.

Friendly, clean, great food, nice outdoor seating, excellent service. Clean restrooms, friendly locals who frequent the pub, heat lamps outside if you want to smoke. And one of the funkiest trees in the front garden. Nothing not to like about this place.
