Alcohol free beer is not great. Wine is fine. The crowd however has a lot of people in button up shirts (weird in Berlin and in a dive barand A LOT of thirsty guys. I would avoid it as a woman unless. But the music was good.

Semi hidden club, a little rough around the edges and a slightly intimidating crowd. An experience nonetheless

Love this place. Mood and people where amazing.Speakers deserve an upgrade though. If they invest in some grade A stuff its 5/5 for me.

Nice Bar too go too before heading too the big clubs. Nice atmosphere and friendly people serving at the bar. When its open there is mostly a dj playing. The entrance is hard to find, but that makes the place also more locally-owned. Would recommend going here when your near this place.

Very cool (semi-)hidden/secret bar. Great lounge with birds eye view of Kotti and trains, fun to admire while dancing to their DJs, it was a propulsive blend of 80s funk/r&b/house when I was there

My dates never took off in this place. I see a pattern and I blame them for it. Their music, perhaps.

cool place so close with a view on Ubahn tains

Yesterday, me and my girlfriend went there, and I was paying our drinks to the barman. He gave me 10 € of change less and I immediately told him but he didnt want to admit his “mistake“ and so he stole me 10€... This never happened to me before and Ill never go there again. If you are unlucky enough to end up in that place, please look at your money!

The Monarch is the first bar I ever visited in Berlin. That was about 6 years ago. Today I still visit it often and it kept the same atmosphere as before : it is smoky as hell, the music is good, the drinks are reasonably priced and the crowd is usually nice. They have a kicker for those who didnt come for the music 😉 In general you have to pay a small cover fee of 3-6 euros to get in and you should expect to leave smelly and in great need of a shower. Needless today, do not take your super cool coat that you cant wash inside this place!

Its fine. Some nice events are hosted here but I generally wouldnt recommend it.

Great intimate venue for some music. It was a cozy spot for the Bones of JR Jones show. I imagine Monarch is also good for any artist trying to make a connection with the crowd, not just impress the masses.

Great place very well located and kind of secret entrance, people working there are really nice, the soundsystem works perfectly, and they have a lot of options at the bar.

I went there for a concert so my experience may not be comparable to regular visitors.The place is tiny and cozy. The acoustics is ok-ish.Judging by the menu its rather a whisky bar than beer bar. They do have 2 or 3 beers, that I wouldnt recommend. Anyway, whatever you will drink youll end up with hangover from the amount of cigarette smoke youll soak with. The windows were shut and there was no air exchange. But maybe it was specifically for the event.

Fun bar, very Shoreditch feel, if you didnt know where it was you may struggle to find it. Stair case in is similar to that of a stair case to an English council estate

Smoking cigarettes and joints in there makes the bar pretty unattractive to me. To me it feels like a hookup bar and the atmospheres has gone down aot over te course of the past years.

Had a nice ambience but is a smoking bar so you end up smelling like an ashtray f@$&ed a divining bar

Great music and a gorgeous big-city-view on Skalitzer Str. and the Hochbahn. The low-fi vibe works well in this place.

Despite the druggie in the staircase... The club is super cosy, super small and has a super atmosphere.

Easy to find (not at explain on website as a "secret bar"). A room with view on the street. Not very big but cool for before woth friends ! I liked it

Totally hidden entrance but this was a super cool venue. Went on a Thursday and it was a funky, hip hop night. Nothing too overplayed. Had a great time and reasonably priced drinks.

Its like a compact club.Bartenders were friendly but you can wait 2 minutes to get a beer.Bouncers were super sensible aswell.Music was bad thats the only con.

Terrible! The bouncer is stupid. Playing table football, we got 10 extra balls by the waitress, because it ate our money. Then we were kicked out of the bar by the bouncer for playing too long after 6 balls, while still having 4 more balls ready. This bars bouncer doesnt make sense. Do not recommend!

They have a really great DJ who knows what hes doing. Unfortunately, they let way too many people inside so it takes up to 30 minutes to get a beer and dancing is virtually impossible. Not a place you can just drop by and enjoy.

Interesting place directly on Kotti, does not play your standard berlin music, but do have the nice relaxed berlin vibe.

Lost my Iphone there, came back the next day to look for it and it was handed to me by the owner. This came as a surprise, a very good one. Thanks for the party and the service.

Place to visit only for special event/concert, very foggy, no oxygen, no condition, wine is a wine.
