The Mogul Emperor - Indian restaurant in Limerick, Ireland
Hidden gem! The food was absolutely fantastic! We also had superior service! Definitely recommend!!
Excellent food. Restaurant open since 1993 making it one of the most established in Limerick. Friendly service. I had the lamb balti with naan and basmati rice. Lamb was very tender and the curry very flavourful. Naan was nice and crispy. Recommended
Food is great, staff was great and the price was great! 10/10
Food was a revelation - will be back
Extremely poor service. The waiter was very rude because we didn’t order much food. The food is also average. I am surprised to see 4 star rating for this place. He was serving everyone complimentary papad, but he did not serve us because we didn’t order much.Think twice before choosing this place as your next restaurant
Beautiful food and excellent service
Probably the longest established and highly reputable Indian Restaurantin Limerick city.
Very small portions and naan bread was tough and cold. Tasted nice
Lovely food. Delicious. Great value
Best in town had some friends from Germany and they were so impressed love everything about the Mogul
This is a hidden gem in Limerick City. Very unassuming from the outside, and a small cosy interior. This restaurant serves a variety of Indian cuisine and each meal looks as tasty as the next. Would highly recommend - great value, nice staff and very enjoyable food!!
Poor Customer Service. When we arrived at the restaurant the hospitality was very poor. They made us waited for couple of minutes to get the dine in although the restaurant was not at all busy. They served us food in Fist In Last Out manner in such a way that we were served at last, even though we came first.
It was really bad experience , we were ordered food and waited for long time. The manger was behaved very badly and harsh .
Lack of basic customer service. From the minute we entered the restaurant it felt like it was a hassle for us to be there. It was not busy but yet took ages for a waiter to come to our table just to take our order. We came here based on reviews but I’m guessing the high ratings are from the take-away service they provide and not dine in.
Extremely poor service. The place wasn’t busy. Yet we were waiting there over 10 minutes sitting down before any water was brought over. When we did get attended too, the waiter was very rude no hospitality skills whatsoever.Think twice before choosing this place as your next restaurant
Best indian restaurant in limerick..food is absolutely outstanding every time
Excellent and affordable Indian food. Very friendly staff with good English and know the menu. Only do take away but seems very nice inside. I go regularly.
This is an Indian restaurant but hardly anything is Indian except the music in the background. I ordered daal tadka. It was like a Irish soup without any tadka. The basic things in Tadka are red chillies, cumin, jeera. The taste was bland. Another surprise was the biryani. I have never tasted a more bland Biryani with hardly any chicken pieces, dry fruits, briyani masala. It was more like boiled rice in tomato sauce. Mughal emperor needs to work on its taste atleast for Indian customers.
Best Indian in Limerick food is always delicious 😊
I love Indian food, so I am no novice. This food was so satisfying and freshly prepared. The price is the same as a chipper! How do they do that? Just delicious. Thank you.
Food was lethal and staff were fair good too i dont agree with the bad reviews
Probably the best Indian in Limerick!Never disappointed after eating there!!!!Looking forward to my next visit already!!!!
Order from the Mogul every few months, always delicious, never disappoints.
Lovely food and great value.
Excellent food would definitely recommend
Good food but 2.5 hours to have it delivered 1.5km away. Not acceptable.
I ordered Indian food tht was tasty but I didnt like the ambience.. Usually in cork wherever I went for lunch or dinner they give papad but here it was Missing.
The food is average, they are no more serving the usual crackers. But it was served for other customers, when asked upon the server mentioned it depends on the billing. He also said it in rude way.
The food is actually good but the service is really bad. This is definitely the last time going there.BEING BUSY IS NO EXCUSE FOR BEING RUDE.
The food is okay but the service is really bad. Last time, they did not serve the usual crackers and sauces, they took a long time to serve us and they left us last. The server was ignoring us on purpose. And at last when we wanted to pay he overlooked us and made us wait until he was finished. And when we complained they said we accepted you guys although we refused other people because were busy.BEING BUSY IS NOT AN EXCUSE FOR BEING RUDE.This is gonna be the last time Im going there.
I really like the kitchen, everything was just great! The atmosphere, the design in the restaurant are nice!
Service a little slow but absolutely superb food and value for money
I really like this place, for both eat in and take away.Never had a bad meal from the place and I have tried about half the menu :. I think I prefer their vegetarian dishes though. The interior decor isnt modern, but I am not sure why you would want that, it is a Georgian building. The chairs are really comfortable if you are sitting in for a meal.
Amazing food, really enjoyed it.Staff were so polite, new guy was great. Definitely be back next time when imin Limerick.
We ordered takeaway and it was the best Indian meal Ive had in a very long time. I had king prawn Zaffrani Jinga and himself had Tandori mixed grill. Wish they had a branch in Dublin.
First of, the receptionist was rude. Chicken was not cooked. Chicken Biryani was a disgrace to the biryani category.Dont even get me started with the onion pakodas. Worst food Ive ever had.
The receptionist was very rude and arrogant, the food was horrible veg biryani tasted more like tomato bath/ rice bath. It had no flavor. I wouldnt suggest this place to have Indian food!
I ordered chicken tikka masala for takeaway. Arrived at the time they stated for it to be collected and it was cold. There was also very little chicken. It is not good value and will not ever be ordering from here again.
Definitely not Indian...... The food has no taste ... Curry was not thick ..... Papadum was handkerchief that can be kept in coat pocket.....overall I am not wasting my money again n trying to prevent yours.....
It was good but will have to try again, some other time.
Always visited here when in limerick and was always good food.Tonight I visited and enjoyed my food until I mentioned to the staff that I was disspointed that they used frozen Veg in the dish. The server told me that they can not source fresh veg.I said i dont accept that as an excuse and that fresh veg is available all year round in ireland. He then told me not to disrespect him, which i said i wasnt i was only making a point he was very angry. He said he is working there 6 years and they never used fresh veg in that time.Very disapointed with his attitude. Will not be going back and its a pity, sometimes staff can ruin a business.
This is the best Indian food in Limerick hands down but it is also the worst service I’ve ever experienced in a restaurant. I’ve read some of the reviews and they say ‘excellent service’, this is just not true. You will be very disappointed if you expect good service. You can be waiting up to 15/20 minutes before you get water or take your order and this is on a slow night. We have been there many times and the only reason we go back is because the food is that good. It’s authentic Indian dishes, cooked to perfection. Thick, flavorful sauces with meat that melts in your mouth. It’s a medium sized restaurant with tall ceiling and big tables. It’s always clean and has a nice atmosphere when full. We will reluctantly go back but we will enjoy it!
The food is awesome, the prices are reasonable and good selection of cuisine. Though the service can be made a little better towards customers.
Delicious food , nice ambiance, like the restaurant.
Not authentic and below average ambience. As an Indian who lived in India and in the UK, I can honestly say Ive had better curry from a Supermarket takeaway ( Try Iceland!). The balti was a disgrace. You could tell that the chicken was added after the dish was cooked! The lighting was so poor in the restaurant. There were enough patrons in the restaurant for management to invest and make this place better. However reading all the other glowing reviews of this place here, I think if you are Irish and have never eaten an authentic curry youd probably find the food OK ( although even my wife who is Irish found the food and experience poor)
Came with a friend and had the butter chicken and peshwari naan (which is available but don’t think is on the menuand had an amazing meal, I ate absolutely everything! Both were delicious and I would definitely return.
Good Indian restaurant in City Limerick..near City centre.. very nice ambience.. food tastes good but dont expect the traditional Indian spice..
Good food. But you may be wise to check the contents of any take away as you may find something missing. It has happened to me 5 times now. But overall good staff out the front but no so good packing in the kitchen.
Would love to give the Mogul a higher star rating as the food is good, but the head waiter is very rude. We have gone a couple of times and the same guy is consistently ignorant. We didnt have a reservation, and could understand if the many empty tables were all reserved or needed soon, but he always begrudgingly gives you a table, doesnt turn anyone else away after you, however everyone has to go through this song and dance to put him on a power trip. "Do you have a reservation?", "You dont?", scowly face, looks around at the 3 occupied tables, looks in empty diary, "you can sit here". Then comes to take your order and starts barking orders at other staff while you are trying to order. It really is a pity because the rest of the staff are absolutely lovely.
This is not good Indian food. Everything (vege, meat curries, starterswas unbelievably bland and for the first time in my life, I had to use a salt shaker at an Indian restaurant. The service was even wanting. Im only giving 2 stars because the beer was actually wet. If this is the best Indian food in Limerick, oh my.
