Marlowes, Hemel Hempstead HP1 1DX, Tippi
Modern mall with high-street brands and local independent retailers, plus cafes and food outlets.
Easy to get to, great variety ofshops, accessible for wheelchair users ππ»
Some lovely shops in this shopping centre
Really convenient as mostly shops are located in one area
Staff are terrific, Miss Kinghorn knows the ropes and was extremely helpful
There arent as many shops as there used to be and not so much variety of shops its always kept clean and tidy also the amount of lifts out of service is quite high
Terrible alright if you want a cup of coffee most shops closed down even w h Smiths has closed down
Good parking bays, lots of parking including disabled bays, helpful security staff and a valet service there if you need your car cleaned, downside the parking isnt cheap, Sunday the best day to visit.
Its gone down a lot marlowes recently.i think year or 2 this shopping centre will shut down
I like the layouts, the shops theres a lot to choose from and to browse, nice exercise too.i enjoy the walk from shops to shops theres choices, will recommend it to anyone who also wants a day out.
The place is run down, shops are closing, they take alot of money yet two lifts still down!,
One of the worst shopping malls Ive ever visited and I live here. No decent shops however the cafes are ok
Great place to go. Loads of great shops x
Lovely clean place but only issue is the smell from a food place its awful
Great centre with nice setting and plenty shopping
Can be improved. Yes got various shops and like all shopping mall its OK. Good clean nice security
Very few shops, shop units boarded up. Its ok if you like cafes and coffee shops. Bit of a embarrassment really.
Ok as shopping centre goes. Atria in Watford much superior.
Ist time there....loved it.....has Al the shops l need and want, the only downside is having to pay half price for a blue badge.....it should be free....
Nice shopping. Always something going on. We have enjoyed Dinosaurs Trail last weeks.Toilets always clean and nice playground.
Very poor and a lot of closed shops. Looks poor compared to when I lived there 25 years ago. It is a shame.
Well spaced out shopping centre, outside seemed to offer more chains that you would generally shop at.
I love the family centre provided in the heart of the shopping centre it makes the day here much easier with children. There is a fair selection of shops to browse through and a few choices for places to grab a bite.
Clean and tidy. Quite a few closed shops
Great selection of shops and friendly members of staff.
Nice shopping center, cafe in the middle,Marks and Spencers, toy shops but nowhere near as good as Watfords.
Pleasant environment and good range of shops. Toilets are clean with good facilities.
I love this mall and the environments. Everything is easily accessible family friendly
Lived in hemel all my life, shopping here is now depressing and disappointing so many shops closed and how many cups of coffee can you drink!
Shame about Hemel and how its gone down hill, Even before lockdown, just plenty of coffee shops, no homeware shops or decent clothes shops
Not a bad place for shopping however lacking some entertainment, which makes me take one star . the location is perfect center of town.
Brilliant place to use Wi-Fi and also a great place to meet up with family and friends and if you need any help the staff and security are there for you to ask and they have got a new addition which is you can play ping pong for free but you need to pay 20p for a ball
Lots of shops with lots of parking ..They take care of their visitors
Lots of shops to go around, and lots of closed ones too... Good place to go spend some time... π
Marlows have started to loose shops due to the price of the rent that has to be paid to keep a open, unfortunately the only shops left are big name shops. All the little shops have gone there isnt even a argos in town now. Shame really.
Marlowes Shopping Centre is somewhat depleted with empty units and discount stores amongst the few more upmarket shops. However, it undoubtedly deserves 5 stars as it is home to the Electric Umbrella music shop which is the best shop in the world. This fantastic charitys latest venture is the refurbishment and sale of donated musical instruments. Amongst the plethora of very reasonably prices guitars etc. you will find the weird and wonderful, and the stock is constantly changing. Last week there was a harp and a sitar in the window. All the proceeds go to support the work to support young people with special needs to access and perform live music and is doing fantastic work locally and further afield via Zoom.
First time I went most shops were closed despite the centre being officially open. ATM swallowed my card which didnβt help the overall experience either!Second time was a Saturday afternoon, it was busy but ok. Friendliest people were the kiosk vendors, and had a good smoothie at the doughnut place in the middle.Didnβt like:Atmosphere at bit impaired by somewhat vocal gangs of teenagers hanging out-Didnβt cause me any trouble personally, but the language was offensive. Security staff seemed overwhelmed by the situation although they were clearly trying their best-Seems to be a bit of an issue in general in Hemel Hempstead from my recent (visitingexperience. On the plus side:Some thoughtful design with the natural light illuminating the large seating area; several regular seating areas (when not monopolised by teenagers!make this a good place to shop if you have to sit down frequently - also some useful shops like Wilco, M&S etc. (Though you can reach that one from the high street - & if youβre wanting to visit the Marlowes, I would perhaps advise a visit during school hours ;)
Lovely!!! Usb free charging points on leather sofas. YES!!!. Other towns take note.!!β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈπ
Medium size shopping centre with a mixture of shops including Marks and Spencer, Wilko, WH Smiths, and others. Several empty units or closed stores as well.
The Marlowes is an inside and outside shopping centre it has a few top brand retailers. Its fully pedestrianised and has some nice sculptures and water features
Centre is small not many stores, toiletries or food, not much happening at all. Shame really as space is available to do so much more. Embarrassing
If it hadnt been for the 2 staff who helped me get to my car, this would have been a 0 star review! If youve never been there, be aware that you need your ticket with you to pay before you get back to your car. Not enough disabled parking spaces.
Typical shopping centre, not much to say, limited shops, mainly smaller groups or independents, lots of cafes and small shops, only a few major stores (Sports Direct, Next, M&S, JDa few closed units.Great changing facilities for parent with young kids, needs some better stores inside and/or some better leisure options
A good variety of shops, easy to navigate. Big car park but especially crowded on weekends
The local shopping mall never disappoint.Always innovative, clean and welcoming, Al fresco dining, variety of shops, activities, and an Art gallery. Conveniently park here at a good price and enjoy your shopping. From sports brands to convenient stores and many more.
This used to be a fantastic shopping centre but has now deteriorated so much over the years. Pretty sure at least half of the shops are closed. Very little variety compared to what we used to have. Better off going to a neighbouring town for shopping
The most uninspiring shopping town ever! Grey dirty concrete covered in chewing gum!The Mall inside is OK. Good toilet facilities and cafe. Lots of closed up shops. However..... the Water Gardens are lovely.... so Why dont the designers bring that style of garden actually into the shopping precinct?.... . It would improve it 100%
Came to Marlowes shopping centre π¬ for the first time, really liked it on first impression! The parking charges is reasonable and the place is very lively give me a real good vibe.. I wish I had left home early I arrived about 2pm and with it being Saturday I noticed most of the shops were getting ready to close at 4pm so I would bare that in mind if going on a weekend! But I would like to go back soon but a little earlier so I could have a nice look around!
Nice shopping centre although sadly there are many closed shops now. There is a plan to use one end as a community space, but no idea when that is likely to happen. Still a nice M&S, New Look and other smaller independent shops.
Marlowes shopping centre was very quiet. Most of the shops were either closed or having staff getting ready to open when they are able too. I feel sorry for the shop owners losing their trade. The landlord of the shops shouldnt overcharge on the rents. Roll on the day that they can open.
Huge shopping centre, you can find everything you need inside: from sportswear and elegant clothing to toys and food. And theres even a mini-market to buy fresh vegetables! π₯π₯¬π₯¦Moreover, there are reproductions on a real scale of animals like the lion, π¦ the gorilla, π¦ the giraffe π¦ and the Panda πΌ Areas dedicated to children are not missing! πΆπ€±
