New Canadian eats, such as game stroganoff & seafood, are presented in a rustic-modern setting.
Warm and cozy atmosphere! Went there for lunch and had the best service. The food was fast and delicious. Our server was very friendly and we ordered the Cobb salads with chicken on his recommendation. 5 stars all the way!
My daughter’s wedding lunch reception was held at the Maple Leaf Restaurant in Banff on October 13. The reception was held in a private room. We were greeted on arrival, the room was well set up and the food was very good. But what really stood out was the service. We had a dedicated server who was absolutely outstanding. She was thoughtful and did everything she could to make the wedding a memorable event. Thank you!!
My husband and I had dinner and we ordered 2 appetizers (fried calamari and beer tartar), ceasar’s salad, bison steak and pork chop. The dish in the photo is pork chop which I ordered. We loved everything - from the location, Britney was our server, the food, drinks - everything. We will be back when we’re in Banff again. Totally worth the visit and I am happy I followed previous reviews which said it is exceptional. I totally recommend! ☺️
When my wife and I came, there was a couple waiting in front of us and another couple after us. We were all seated on the patio. We ordered the lobster sandwich and burger and for some reason everyone got their food first except for us. We got our food when the other two couples were almost done with their lunch. Our food finally came but the burger I ordered had a hair on the plate below the fries! Although the server apologized and immediately got us new fries from the kitchen. The lobster club was bland in flavour and the one from the Fairview restaurant at Lake Louise was way better. If you are here for lunch then I would skip this restaurant. Dont know if we will go back for their famous brunch after the experience we had there.
This was a nice place with really good food. The server John was really nice, knowledgeable of the menu and right on top of everything. The reason for my low number is because of the cleanliness. We sat down upstairs at the far end and the blinds and the window sills had a 1/4" of dust all over them. We opened the blinds just so we didnt have to look at it.Other than that the restaurant was really quite nice and the food was delicious
We only had light lunch here so obviously we need to visit again to try their other specialties. All in all, a great place to chill and enjoy a meal, great vibe and service, a real Banff treasure! You can also check out my review/feature on YouTube (armanikolas).
Great service! And good breakfast options, the smoked salmon benedicts are yummy. Service was amazing!!Nice ambience wouldve loved to go for dinner.
Best steak we’ve had during this trip! They have the best potato ever! In breakfast and in lunch! But still… the steak is very mediocre, worse than steaks I’ve had in Toronto. The duck wing is maybe too sweet and orangy to me.
I guess I expected a little bit more from The Maple Leaf. The staff are kind and helpful and the sitting area outside is quite nice. The food however, could have been better. On one occasion, we had burgers and I feel like I have had **much** better hamburgers for a lot less. Within eyeshot of The Maple Leaf there are at least 3 other places where you can get better food and pay less.
Excellent local cuisine! Even the food you can find everywhere is added with a local flair. For those who haven’t tried it before, I highly recommend the bison short rib.
Service is very good, need to locate in advance. The Tomahawk steak was a little overdone for me, but it was a lot. Duck wings are recommended, mussels are not recommended because some of them are not open. The dessert chocolate souffle is great! Its a good restaurant in the scenic area.
I decided to try this restaurant for the first time when we came for my wedding dinner (it was just 4 of uson August 13th and the food and service was phenomenal!!! All the staff already knew who we were when we arrived and greeted us so warmly! We had a table right next to the window with a great view. Our server was very knowledgeable and amazing, he made the night so great. The restaurant provided some complementary glasses of champagne for us when we first arrived which was a wonderful surprise. The food was cooked to perfection and tasted absolutely incredible. Great selections of wines as well. I couldnt have asked for a better wedding dinner. Will definitely be a new favourite of ours when we come to Banff!!
Super cute place with delicious food. Service is great! We stumbled upon this place for brunch after a morning of hiking, waited 20 min for a table of 3. Would def recommend :)
We had some amazing food! Will definitely visit again. This is a luxury dining experience and definitely worth the visit for some good gourmet style food.
Favorite breakfast in Banff! Amazing service, quality food and the roasted potatoes are the best! We would’ve gone back for brunch a second time if we had an extra day to our trip!
Got the lobster club, delicious!!Worth it if you are super hungry. Staff was super friendly and the bathrooms were super clean as well.
Our server Adam was amazing! He was kind and quick with his service. The food was delicious and absolutely worth the price. The place was well decorated, clean, and had a good atmosphere. Highly recommend for a fancier dinner or special occasion.
Friendly service, great food and would recommend to anyone! However I did reserve a table the day before (and told them it was our anniversaryand we were placed in the lounge area for dinner with seats that were very casual with not the best back support which was very uncomfortable being 6 months pregnant. If Im paying for a fancy meal and going out for our anniversary I would like a seat in the actual restaurant and get the whole experience. We did ask our server if we were just waiting for our actual table but by the puzzled look we got in return we decided to just enjoy the lounge and order.
Back again for brunch, absolutely loved the latest menu. The food is so tasty and the portions are very generous. The cheeky coffee with Bailey’s was a fun way to end our brunch and the outdoor patio makes for a great vibe. Big fan of brunch here!
Came here for steak and honestly the Keg is better. Very traditional steakhouse spot and underwhelming food. Although the Brussels sprouts were a 5/5, mussels were also good, I’d go there just for those and go somewhere else for steak next time. When you pay upwards of $80 for a steak it should be awesome and mine was just meh. No one at my table raved about the food.
We liked brunch so much at the maple leaf, we went a few times. The interior has a ski lodge atmosphere. Seating indoors or patio. The food was really good at a reasonable price. The staff was fast, friendly and upbeat. I would recommend this place for a great brunch.
Went for late afternoon meal. Friendly professional service from start to finish. Served by Jason. I had the french onion soup which was delicious followed by the double pork chop, oh my word, superb! Buttery chive mash with the most juicy huge pork chop Ive ever been served with a peach & bourbon glaze. Sauce & vegetables yummy 😋. Had night owl cocktail to finish which was exquisite. Husband had cheesy garlic bread followed by Brome lake duck breast with mushroom & asparagus risotto. Followed by gorgeous maple creme brulee Also excellent 👍. I would also recommend the mango pale ale which was really good & wasnt overpowering . Would happily return to this restaurant, its got pretty kerb appeal with the outside lights and seating ( we sat upstairsnot the cheapest meal but top quality food & somebody clearly knows how to cook.. Go, youll love it.
Fabulous food! Great service-the staff were friendly - good menu - good sized portions - lovely atmosphere. - the steak wonderful! Definitely recommend a visit!
The service was great, the staff was so pleasant and had some great suggestions for us!The food was also super hearty but yummy!
Twenty one years ago we first came to Banff and went to The Maple leaf for a lovely salmon dinner to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary, so now we are lucky enough to be back in Banff we decided to repeat the experience and once again booked a meal there. We both had a delicious salmon dinner again and a lovely dessert and it was really special to celebrate there once again. We mentioned to Jason our very pleasant waiter it was our anniversary and when we came to pay the bill we were told we could have our desserts as a compliment from the restaurant, We really appreciated this and cannot rate the service at The Maple Leaf enough. The food is first rate and the whole experience of eating there was a real pleasure. Thank you so much we cannot recommend you highly enough.
Really enjoyed our meal. Menu is very small but we had no problem picking a entree. I would highly recommend the halibut. Everyone else had the tenderloin and were not disappointed. The only reason I gave a 4 was the menu size. Which can be nice as everything is fresh but some chicken options would be nice.
My wife and I were in Banff for her 50th birthday, and we were walking around town and decided to try this restaurant. We are so glad that we did! We went in during the brunch schedule, and so I picked the Canadian Bacon Benedict and my wife picked the Avocado Toast. We both loved our meals and felt the quality and taste of the food was superb. The service was also excellent and the waiter checked on us regularly to make sure we were happy with our meal and if we needed anything. We are very happy to have discovered this restaurant and will definitely return!
Unbelievably great service - we had a group of 25 for a corporate team Event . We were adding people last minute, shifting our needs - high energy people. The team there never said no to any need we had. They were unflappable in their delivery of service and care. The customer experience was incredible - right down to every aspect of the food and drink. Thanks for an incredible night
We had a large group in the private dining room with a set menu and it was fantastic. The salmon had an amazing flavour. The service was exceptional. We always have a great time at The Maple Leaf.
The foodand server was great. Price not too high.I would like to try again when I go to Banff .Recommend!!
We came here for dinner as this is one of the oldest and most famous steakhouses in Banff. Environment and vibe is awesome, but food is soooo disappointing and unsatisfying.I ordered a prime strip loin with medium, but it is overcooked. The steak is too tough to chew. The cowboy ordered by my husband is good, perfectly cooked. In all I won’t recommend this restaurant to anyone, food is not performing. The worse steakhouses among the ones we tried in Banff.
Cowboy steak , really good. Also ordered duck wing, a little bit over cooked…French onion soup, a little bit too salty.Overall , nice restaurant. Good atmosphere.Worth trying.
Really good food. The surf and turf platter for 2 is a fantastic deal. Servers are pleasant and efficient. Tables are a bit small for the amount of food we order but probably good for most people. They have a very nice private dining room upstairs for a medium sized group, looks good for approx 8 to 12 people. Not sure of their booking rules or pricing for it though. Cocktails are solid and strong. Desserts are delicious.
My husband and I came here for our Anniversary dinner while in Banff. Service and food were incredible ! Jason was a very knowledgeable friendly server and was so quick to have our drinks filled and plates taken away. We had fresh oysters to try for our first time and they were great! We then had mussels and they were also delicious. My husband and I both had the salmon for our entree and it was the best salmon we have ever had ! Cooked perfect! We finished off with dessert which was the perfect amount of chocolate goodness ! We would love to come back next time we are in Banff celebrating a special occasion !
We made reservations to have a romantic meal here during our Valentines trip to Banff. We made the reservations a month or so in advance. The Maple Leaf did not disappoint at all. The entire experience was incredible. As soon as we arrived we were very politely welcomed and shown to our table on the second floor. They had reserved us a window table with a great view.Once seated we met our server Jackie. She was friendly and knowledge, and really made it easy to choose our menu. She didnt rush us in anyway. Once we decided on the Surf & Turf for 2, she was incredibly helpful picking out a wine to accompany the meal. She took into account our preferences and meal choice and picked and absolute gem for us. Overall the service was perfect.Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. The atmosphere is wonderful. The entire experience really did make it the special event we were hoping it would be. Thank you to everyone at the Maple Leaf and Jackie in particular.
Amazing brunch! I got the French toast and it was to die for. The slices of bread were so thick and soft. My fiancé got the farmer’s breakfast and he loved it. Especially the rye bread with homemade jam. We left satisfied and stuffed! The service was great too. We had planned to go to the restaurant across the street but when we found out there was a 40 minute wait we decided to try the maple leaf and we have no regrets!
We ordered the mussels and Caesar salad for appetizers and 3 seafood linguini for main. Among 2 adults and 1 kid, we were glad that we had ordered the appies. But all dishes were delicious! Wed go back.
1/28/22: Great experience overall. Staff friendly and attentive. Ordered the Surf and Turf as well as the creme brulee for dessert. It was perfect for 2 people to share.
We had our reception here! It was incredible! The moose room was exquisite and well prepared for our arrival. The menu choices were amazing and they helped with my allergic needs. We came back a few months later and got to enjoy a dish from our special night!
This is hands down the best breakfast place in all of Banff. The French toast and farmers breakfasts are exceptional and the staff is incredibly friendly. An absolute must for travellers or families looking to have a nice breakfast.
First time visiting Canada and this place was so good we ate here twice in 4 days we were here. Had brunch here on Sunday and I had the Short Rib breakfast skillet. Today for lunch had the burger with Short Rib Poutine fries. I wanted a burger and Short Rib Poutine fries but didnt want to have to choose. They had a Poutine fry upgrade option for the fries, but I asked if they could add some Short Rib to it as well and I would even pay a little extra for it.Not only were they able to do it, they never charged me for it. Super friendly staff and really cozy environment with nice chairs to sit in. Cant say enough good things about them, definitely heading back next time we are in Banff!!
Great service, great beers, great decor :)But if the fish and Chips is clearly enough for 2, I hope you love the taste because the batter is so thick and loaded with oil that it took my wife and I around 8 hours to digest it... Im sure the burger was great tho.
We had a larger group and enjoyed the Taste for Adventure special menu at The Maple Leaf. Though the soup we had was a little under seasoned, that would be our only minor reservation of an otherwise outstanding dining experience in Banff! The portion sizes were incredibly generous, the Bison short rib entree was a huge hit (deliciously tender, seasoned to perfection and accompanied with a wealth of delicious side dishes), the risotto was rich and creamy… and even the desserts (which we barely had room for), were presented beautifully and big enough to share if you’d like. Thank you for an amazing meal!
Lives upto to every expectation! We went in with the expectation of ordering the much talked about ‘lobster tail’… but learnt they have a new menu now. So, instead we ordered the Crab cakes, Cowboy steak and the asparagus and crab dip with corn chips…The crab cakes were probably the most flavourful we’ve ever had. Would highly recommend ordering and savouring it. While the steak was good, the dip and chips were just average. We had the most wonderful server and host- Jacky. Making the best suggestions and was very attentive to our needs and preferences. For us, the service topped the food- which is the best thing in a tourist driven town.
We stopped here on a whim on our way out of Banff and were not disappointed!! I find that whenever visiting Banff, service can be really hit or miss however both the Host and Server were super friendly and kind here and made the experience really nice. It has a very Canadian-esque vibe inside and feels like you are having brunch in a log cabin which is very on brand for Banff. Coffee wasn’t stellar however I highly recommend the salmon benny. Overall great experience and can’t wait to stop in the next time we are in town.
The restaurant is a beautiful gem in Banff. The food was absolutely delicious. I cant believe in all the years Ive been visiting here that it took me this long to dine here. We were very pleased with the presentation and the taste was fabulous. Portion size was great. The chef needs to be complimented on the flavour profiles. Service was fantastic and friendly. I cant wait to come back!
Sat down for a breakfast at the end of a long road trip and was absolutely smitten with the small town vibe. Our host, Mark, was attentive, timely, and quick with the humour. Kinda made the morning. My daughter’s Eggs Benedict and my poached eggs were fantastic. Definitely want to return and try them for dinner.Highly recommended. In a town with an avalanche of dining choices, this one blew me away. Thanks, Mark, and your kitchen staff, for the memorable breakfast.
Was hungry and decided to stop in for a meal. It was brunch time. Service was exceptional, food was fantastic. Very impressive. Often tourist places are average because they don’t depend on repeat clients. This place is impressive, enjoyed every moment.
This place is great! The staff is really friendly. The food is pretty good and their price is also 100%worth it. Absolutely the best meal we had while in Banff
Extremely SLOW service.. 48 minutes on clock!!! Food is less than average. Worst fries and burger i have ever had! Also my friend ordered steak as medium rare it came as blue. With the price they are charging and slow service that we got this place is absolutely not worth coming. Hope authorities understand what customers are trying to say.Even table beside us their salmon was not cooked well. Not good at all.
