The Mantel Wine Bar & Bistro in Oklahoma City

The lobster bisque and house made bread with special dipping sauce is amazing! The steak is always cooked to perfection, the seafood is delicious, drinks are strong, and desserts are always indulgent.

It was a good experience. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We were the only party in the restaurant. Not sure why, as this place is worth checking out.

Once a great place and now has zero atmosphere, terrible slow service, and the food is mediocre and overpriced. Lobster tail was extremely small, steak was tough, appetizers were poorly made, and the entire restaurant was practically empty... sad ro see a place be wasted to bad management and poor service.

Enjoyed a wonderful meal and drinks before seeing a show. Staff was friendly and attentive. Food was well prepared and tasted amazing!

Dinner was delicious. All three entrees were cooked well. I have more the one food intolerance and the staff was knowledgeable and very accommodating. We will absolutely be dining here again.

Place is ok. Good atmosphere but the restrooms were pretty gross.I got the Filet Mignon and it was the first time Id ever had to chew a steak that much. I dont know if it was a tough cut of meat or they cooked it too long but it wasnt worth it

Mashed potatoes had no flavor. Just potatoes. A little garlic and maybe some butter and seasoning would have been great. Steak was ordered medium and was pretty rare. Wanted mussels but they were out of mussels and scallops. Ordered a cocktail before dinner and was halfway through dinner before got it. Also ordered a glass of wine that had to remind him of. Website says chef specials for land and sea. Only a sea special. The food was very good. Sea bass absolutely delicious

So glad we stopped here! Everything about this place was perfect! Atmosphere, food, drinks, they were fantastic - only topped by the staffs service!Compliments to the Chef and their whole crew! Grateful for the extra bit of care theyve put in everything!

The place was dirty, it took 30+ minutes for our appetizer (we ended up leaving before it even arrived), the pen they gave us to sign the check had been chewed on. It was just a bad experience

Best duck Ive ever had. Crab cake was simple and delicious without being heavy and greasy. Risotto was perfect. Great service from Orlando and food arrived timely. I will be back.

Severely disappointed. Party of 3. Two of us had the filet and one had the ribeye. I don’t think it even had salt or pepper. Absolutely no flavor. I can honestly say I’ve never had a steak that bad at a restaurant. The “whipped” potatoes were INSTANT potatoes. I wish I was lying or exaggerating, but I’ve had Instant potatoes enough to know those were definitely just that. The best part of the entire experience were the Andes mints on the way out.

Apparently this place used to be great. My wife and I went here on our anniversary with recommendations from the guys I work with. After $160 I felt robbed. Weve had better steak at Texas Roadhouse for far less. Save your time and $

Appetizer was delicious, dinner was alright I ordered crusted pork chop. Waiting was overwhelming long no one was at the front desk for seating. I noticed people had gone and came back due to no wait staff at the door.

Wish it had been better, but Im really disappointed. Ordered the filet mignon as a medium and its very close to rare. Wine selection isnt bad and did a red blend with dinner that was a fair restaurant price. Prosecco at start was lukewarm. Staff was very friendly, but as always I never complain.The entire restaurant really didnt feel like a wine or Italian restaurant. Im just traveling through town, so not sure what other Italian places are like in OKC.Had the filet been properly cooked and white chilled, would have been vastly better.

Stopped in for a glass of wine while we were in town from Illinois. The wine list had a nice variety and the service was wonderful. Had a really nice time sitting at the bar talking to Eric. Next time we are in town we will go back and try the food.

The food was delicious and our waitress "Drew" was super cute and very attentive. The ambiance is very romantic. They even gave us a free dessert for our Anniversary.

The service was good and the food was good. The only issue with the food was that the green beans were not well prepared. The stems where not removed. I almost choked on one.

The food and service was excellent. Had the seafood pasta and the hubby had the 14oz ribeye. Everything was cooked just right. We were there with friends and it was great. Seating, vibe, everything.

Our server was really great. Took over an hour after we ordered to get our food. My entree was cold, had to send it back. Came back a little warmer than the first time. Food is good but geeesh. Did get a dessert to share with husband on the house

I came here for my bachelorette party weekend. The service was AMAZING and the food was even better. They made room for all 9 of us (we did make a reservationand they even split my food/drinks on all of the checks without us asking. It was a great way to kick off the weekend. Highly recommend!

We came to OKC for a bachelorette party and called ahead to make a reservation. They were so nice on the phone and even better in person! Very attentive, friendly, and overall just made our experience absolutely wonderful! Not to mention, the drinks and food were super tasty as well. It was such a wonderful experience!

My wife and I ate here this past Saturday night. We walked in and immediately got seated around 8 and thats when the trouble started. We tried ordering a couple of things off their menu only to be told everything from scallops to coffee they were out of... after navigating the missing parts of their menu we both settled on the seared sea bass for 28 dollars. As you can tell from the photo mine came out looking more like blackened catfish... when we told the waiter we were unhappy with the fish he did nothing but make himself scarce for the rest of the meal. We could over look the tacky decor, white paper on top of the tables, torn booths and what looked to be like old golden coral chairs but we have never had such awful food or service before in our lives. With so many actually good restaurants within walking distance of this place, save your money and your time and go somewhere else!

DO NOT. I REPEAT DO NOT eat here. The lighting is low for a reason. We ordered lobster and it was undercooked couldnt tell until after it was actually consumed. 215.00 tab and all they would comp was $14. Poor management. Poor food. Dont waste your time. Go to Bourban St. Cafe!!! Better portions and service!

Great food. My family of 4 went there with no reservations. We got sat at the bar pretty quick. When we got there it looked like they were following social distancing. But while we were eating they sat another couple within 2ft from us and every seat in the restaurant was full. So I would say they dont follow social distancing. The staff was all wearing masks and cleaning there hands frequently. If you are concerned with following social distancing I probably would not recommend going here during peak times. This reason is why I only gave it 4 stares.

We decided to try this restaurant for our anniversary as it had good reviews and was in the area. I realize that with Covid and on a Monday we werent expecting stellar service, but I have to say over all we were disappointed. Our drinks were great and mine was well mixed. Unfortunately they had run out of filet by 7pm when we arrived and the one we did get was dry and simply under seasoned. We paid for our meal and thanked the waiter, who was basically alone on the floor, but I dont think well be back. Theres better restaurants in the area priced similarly.

We had a good experience at The Mantel. We made a reservation online. Unfortunately they have a limited menu at the moment so their menu online is not accurate. The service was good. We shared the brie app, the lobster bisque, which was delicious, got 3 drinks, the diver scallops and the chicken pesto truffle pasta for $130ish. The brie was ok, the toast points were a bit too crouton crisp, they kept falling apart. The bread with their dipping sauce (which was goodwasnt warm. Thats pretty much my only complaint which really isnt that big of a deal. The rest was delicious! We will be back!

Not only was the food utterly superb, but the experience was beyond compare! The entire team was completed devoted to ensuring our visit was memorable.

I ordered the ceasars salad with chicken. It took over 30 minutes before it came out. No one came to say why didnt the food come out in a timely manner. We happened to hear the waiter tell the manager that my order didnt go through. Yet we were never informed of that. They offered me a dessert but I got a lobster bisque for my friends wife instead. Then when my salad came out, it was not worth the wait. I had to send it back. I would have given them one star but my drink ended up being free and Ill never complain about that.

Came in during dinner, although with the COVID pandemic there were only 2 other diners in the restaurant. The wine was fantastic, as were the servers. The food was alright. The spinach and risotto were VERY salty, the duck was slightly overcooked. May have just been an off-night for the kitchen.

Decided to give them a try for NYE with my wife. Easy parking, greeted at the door, and seated quickly. They had a set menu for NYE, which is understandable. Nice variety on the menu.Service wasn’t too great. I don’t know if the built in tip had anything to do with it, but it took forever to initially take our drink orders, then our food orders. Had a glass of wine and I believe they forgot I ordered it. Waitress blamed it on the bartender and then brought a bottle to pour the glass. Waitress also seemed to know a larger table of guest and went over to chat it up a couple of times. I don’t mind that, but her tables were waiting on things.Food was pretty good. Not exceptional, but was good. My wife got an 8oz filet and I got the duck. Thought it was pretty decent. Not $75 per person decent.We may go back when there is a full menu and to see if the service is better.

Initially we got sat right at the entrance and by the kitchen, where it was a little noisy. We politely asked the host if we could change seats as it was special occasion and there were open tables throughout the restaurant. Initially she was very busy, but once we were moved they gave us complimentary champagne for our wait. The service and food was perfect! Very grateful for our experience and will definitely be back!

We went on a double date with friends and my friends salmon was mushy in texture rather than flaky as it should have been. The rest of our food was great! They brought her out a blackened chicken breast to replace the salmon, comped her meal, AND gave her a free dessert! Excellent service from our server Dillon too he was just the right amount of attentive and didnt give any attitude about replacing my friends food. Atmosphere was relaxed and didnt feel stuffy like some other high-end restaurants. We had a very nice time!

Great place, we love to sit at the bar. Food was excellent and the Julia Child potatoes, are a must!

IN LOVE with this place. My husband and I wanted a place we could dress up to and have a nice dinner out. We tried The Mantel on a whim. Our waitress (Nadinewas friendly, knowledgeable and we never had to wait for refills or anything like that. Honestly every staff member we interacted with was super friendly and helpful. The food was so freakin good too! My husband got the ribeye and I ordered one of the features, Seatini. Definitely will be coming back.

Wonderful date night restaurant. Tables with candles, a chic interior, and an extensive wine list, this is a place that is designed for you to savor the evening, not grab a quick bite. The waiters here are professional and know the menu and can recommend handcrafted cocktails and unusual wines to compliment your meal. We split the salad and both had the duck which was fabulous. Save room for dessert; the bananas foster is served tableside with quite a show.

Overall it was a good dinner, I was just hoping for a little more bang for your buck! I got the diver scallops and they were delicious but for 38 bucks I wish there were more than 5 scallops. The star of the meal was the Gruyere risotto! It was beyond amazing! Also the Caesar salad with whole anchovies on top was delicious. My husband got the rack of lamb and it was also good but we didn’t taste any of the garlic rosemary, the star of his was the wild mushroom risotto! I don’t know what they do to the risotto but it’s so good! I wasn’t a fan of the small tables when you first walk in where they sit just 2 tops. They are so close together and it’s not quite as romantic vibe as we would have liked for our anniversary. But overall it was a nice dinner

Very good steak. It surpassed my expectations! Steak here is better than at Broadway 10 and its a cheaper price. I highly recommend the Ribeye.

Weve been here a few times on date nights. We really enjoy it! Our server was great and the food was really good. We ordered the cheese plate appetizer, french onion soup-which was phenomenal-the 8oz filet and the steak and scallops (one of the specials). My husband ordered his steak medium and it came out rare. As soon as the server saw my husband cut into it he took notice that it was the wrong temp and offered to take it back to correct it. When it came back out it was better but on the mid rare side of medium but my husband was ok with it. My steak was cooked perfectly and while the scallops were delicious and had the perfect sear, there was a bit of burned grittiness on them...almost like they had been seared on a hot grill or skillet that hadnt been wiped out all the way. Still totally edible but every few bites i could taste it. The potatoes and veggies were amazing. We skipped dessert since we were completely full! Overall, and based on multiple experiences, it was a delicious dinner with fabulous service. Well definitely be back!

Dimmly lit very romantic setting.The Mantel Wine Bar and Bistro is a great date night destination. Service here was pleasant and attentive. The food scored high on quality taste and preparation not so much on plating and presentation creativity. The deserts varied, while the creme brulee was so so, the molten lava cake was off the hook delicious.I suggest you grab a date and try this joint. Its someplace Ill revisit.
