Set on Llandudno's seafront promenade, this cosy hotel is set in a Victorian building. It's 5 minutes' walk from arts and cultural events at Venue Cymru, and 7 minutes' walk from the shops at Mostyn Champneys Retail Park.Warm rooms, some with elegant decor and/or sea views, have tea and coffeemaking facilities, free Wi-Fi and TVs. A penthouse has 2 bedrooms. Family rooms offer space to accommodate cots (no charge) or extra beds.Free amenities include parking, and breakfast served in a refined dining room overlooking the sea. There's also a relaxed bar, and a patio with seating.
Just had 2 night stay (Aug 2022in family room. It was a little snug but had 4 beds in it!Decor a bit dated, but its a seafront hotel with sea view,, the beds were good and the guys running the place very helpful, friendly and available for questions and a quick chat. Its quiet at night as its the other end of the prom from the pier..quite a walk for elderly or tots, but we appreciated the peace! Great position to explore deeper into Wales. Simple buffet breakfast was included in the price. Hard to park on busy days but we were never more than a few yards away.. would stay again.
Awesome view overlooking the sea.... jst loved it.
Dirty unhygienic place to stay couldnt get out quick enough , lads who run the place are nice enough to help but needs a lot of attention , used as a doss house by the managers and dont have cleaners , very poor unfortunately
Amazing staff, very friendly! Great size rooms with everything you need and super comfortable beds. Will be the first choice for return visits.
Clean and tidy, if a bit dated...shower very small...tv reception very poor.No lift...bit of a climb if your room is higher than the first floor.Breakfast ok...parking ok if you’re patient enough to wait for a space...it’s free street parking.
Room small ,tv intermittent, just two double plugs ,had to ask for towels, bins not emptied, dirty underwear in drawers,Breakfast full English not (bacon sos scrambled eggswarm!? Should have been more to it !!!? Continental breakfast very poor
Wonderful atmosphere in the bar the two guys running the place struggling for staff rooms not cleaned the three nights we were there. Breakfast nothing like we had in August the last time we stayed. We hope you can sort your problems out but we will not be staying until you get some good reviews. Good luck you deserve it cheers.
Room basic, staff friendly, slept well. Some picky issues but nothing major and perfect for a night away. Its cheap and cheerful.
Ive given three stars due to the amazing way we where made to feel welcome .On a negative the place is dirty hairs in the shower dust everywhere it was so bad we decided to skip breakfast due to being concerned the kitchen was as dirty as the the rest of the hotel.
Friendly owners who couldnt do enough for us...I think a combination of the sea air and massive comfortable bed=a straight 10 hours blissful sleep. Beautiful hotel, gorgeous place. Thank you 👍
The proprietor was very helpful and it was nice to have a bar in the hotel everywhere was spotless I would have liked a choice of a cooked breakfast
Hotel needs some modernising. The reception staff were sweet and helpful. The breakfast offered was only continental which is a disappointment.
AVOID AVOID AVOID!!! After initial booking 2 nights stay for my family after the first night we decided 1 nights stay was enough, the manger is a liar who told us he would accept the room was not what was advertised with its filthy blood stained beds and mouldy bathroom and he would give us a full refund for the second night which we didn’t stay, still no refund received as they keep declining the refund process with last minute.com, I was very reasonable and said we would pay for the one night we already stayed just didn’t want to stay the second night due to how disgusting the room was, I showed him the photos I took and he agreed and said they were struggling because of COVID-19, for anyone looking to book here I seriously wouldn’t else you will be very disappointed!!!
I stay at a lot of hotels in the country and working in the industry l feel customer service is everything. The Manor Hotel, a 3 Star Hotel in Llandudno has excellent customer service and it really could not be beaten. Their homely atmosphere entices me and my family back year after year. Dont expect the Ritz, Gary and Mark will take great care of you.
Booked with breakfast but told on arrival that if we wanted a cooked breakfast it was £6 extra each. Eventually told it was free as tv aerial had blown down. Room was nice with a lovely view of Great Orme from bed. We had to book a time for breakfast but told the dining room was full and were put in a back room by a damp wall. The host was a pleasent guy but we wont be back.
Great little hotel! Very friendly and helpful staff and great breakfast experience!Only complaint is that the mattress (in room 10didnt have much to it so felt the bed frame. Wonderful sea view though!! Would definitely stay again!
Ups...Great view (room 4), nice cooked breakfast, good location, good helpful staff with great service.Downs...very outdated with lots of damp in room, bit overpriced for what it was, would help if the breakfast was included.
A very mixed bag. Firstly, the staff and service were top notch. However unfortunately the rooms are very tired and, in some cases, literally disintegrating before your eyes.
Lovely hotel. Brilliant Staff. Very friendly. The family room we stayed in really needs an update. The furniture was outdated, scratched & looked dirty (altho was cleanwindows are hard to shut, but it was so warm we left them open. Get new bedside cabinets, a full length mirror for us ladies & a new cabinet for TV... the room wud be much nicer. Otherwise this is a great place to stay. Quiet too even tho bar was busy.
Great staff, very friendly , you feel there like a family member. Staff very helpfully . Best hotel when I have been.
Went out of their way to look after us especially as they had just opened after lock down and secondly we were attending after our sons funeral so to show how much they carex about it going smoothly stood out above all else . A very pleasant experience was enjoyed by all attending .
Lovely hotel, nice bar with multiple large screen TVs. Large selection of drinks reasonably priced. Room was clean and tidy, no complaints. Staff friendly. Nice location with a lovely view, situated on the front within walking distance of venue cymru and town.
Hotel accepted my booking. Tried to contact them but there was no answer, then engaged tone, then no answer. Arrived at the hotel to find a notice on the door Closed for Maintenance. I was not impressed. Had to find an alternative hotel at short notice and at greater cost. Why could the Manor Hotel not have contacted me? Why could they not update their Facebook page and website? Why not leave a message on an answerphone explaining the closure, at the very least? Shall not be booking with them again.
Wasn’t sure what to expect from here as saw some bad reviews. We were pleased with our experienced though. We stayed in the sea view room which was good views so recommend booking this room. Good breakfast & friendly staff. Thank you
Loved it, we stayed on the top floor which had only two rooms and saparate beautiful toilet the whole area was our and with kids that was brilliant . Loved how cleverly the room were built specially the toilet. Very nice rooms friendly stuff good breakfast amazing environment.
Unfortunately the hotel is geared up around the bar area and not to the paying hotel guests. We had a large TV on the wall in our room which did not work at all!!! A smaller replacement TV was positioned on the dressing table (making the dresser unusablebut this TV did not work properly either and only had and handful of basic channels. There were x3 perfectly working SKY TVs in the bar/dinning area if you prefer to watch TV in the bar (usually football). The en suite was old and tired and left a lot to be desired. At £100 per night over the xmas period I would expect a working TV and a decent bathroom at least. The staff were polite and friendly. The owners should step up the guest rooms a little particularly with regards to working TVs.The extra we paid for the sea view and king size double room was at least worth the lovely views... :)
Very clean room and bar restaurant also clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was lovely a range of cereals yogurts and a lovely cooked breakfast we will look forward to staying again
Good public rooms, very friendly and aplogetic staff. This is as well because they had to do so much appologising. One bedroom only the size of single bed with nowhere to hang clothes except on bathroom door. Not serviced properly most days in eithef rolm we had. Room hidden in the basement with virtually no window, very clautrophobic. Definate rip off at £60pn. Ran out of cereals and yoghurt for breakfast which they ran 2 sittings for. Service so slow they were asking people to leave tables to get next sitting in when people had only just recieved their cooked breakfast. Waited 45 minutes for breakfast he seemed to cook one then start the next instead of cooking in batches. Good position on the front but avoid like the plague due to poor service and rip off prices there is much better in Llandudno sorry to say.
I really wasnt expecting much from this place having read some poor reviews. However, I was very pleasantly surprised. We booked the penthouse room which consisted of 2 separate rooms (one double with a separate sofa and small chaise lounge and one twin), a good sized bathroom and private small landing and private staircase to the floor below. I would have to agree with some of the other reviews though regarding the security aspect. Although you can lock the door from the private staircase, there would be nothing stopping someone from climbing over the banister from the public staircase to the private one. Both bedrooms were well presented (the usual wear and tear which can only be expected). Very clean and homely. Lovely sea views from all windows. We had a couple of drinks from the bar which were reasonably priced. Nice front terrace overlooking the sea to drink them on. Breakfast wasnt great. Frozen sausages, hash browns etc but there was cereal and yoghurt too. We really enjoyed our little break and would definitely return.
My room was small but clean and comfortable and it was reasonably priced. Staff were quite friendly even offering me a bacon butty to take away as I had to leave early for a meeting. Would stay again
AVOID AVOID AVOID———Stayed here for one night and believe me that was more than enough. We arrived and checked in for the penthouse suite because it had a seperate room for our daughter. However the door locks did not work and the door that leads to the suite is easily defeated by jumping over the banister. I spoke to the staff and they were helpful and changed our room but offered no refund for the difference in room cost. When I asked they said I had to speak to the manger by phone!!!So, I tried to call the manager( very poor customer management)who did not answer my call and has not bothered to call me back. I saw him the next morning and he promised to my face that he would transfer the money and then still did not bother. But they really should have just refunded me by using the card machine. If only I had used my credit card then I could have complained to them about being unfairly charged. The place is most definitely NOT clean and is overpriced in my opinion. I would avoid staying here.Pictures are a lie. May have looked that fresh 20years ago.
Not long been here but tbh at the rate charged the room is dirty dusty no thought gone in to cleaning furnishings need replacing so overall pretty poor Ive given a star for pleasant staff kettle filthy in room grimey.Breakfast room ok breakfast a tad greasy and not really enough cooked asked for 2 eggs got one asked for beans got none! Although the staff did apologise it should have been written down correctly to start with. The room is small and thats not a huge problem what is is the fact that theres a mirror behind the TV which shows all the dust and the fact that its quite clearly not cleaned to a set standard is worrying as it isnt a big room
Horrible hotel. This is probably the worst hotel that I have been to. We were supposed to stay here for 3 nights and each night is over £100 we are leaving after the first and going to holiday inn all the way in Telford. The kids hate it and the aesthetic is horrible. The hygiene is atrocious as the toilets have mold. The bed has springs sticking up and we found bugs in the bath. The building is nice but clearly everything in it is old. We are not the type of people to waste money like this but we cannot stand it. It is a nice building but needs a serious refurbishment.
Stayed for one night. Bathroom had mold on the wall and around the bath, tiles were stained with what looked like hair dye, Bedroom had a dado rail which was full of dust, could really have done with a good all round clean. In the afternoon we called for a drink in the bar which was full of the staff talking about how quickly they could clean a room. On the whole we found the place needed a real good cleaning. Wont be going again.
The room was done to a nice standard but was not very clean. There was a slight delay for check in but the staff member was apologetic. Breakfast was very good being pretty much all you can eat! They also missed my request for a gesture for my wifes Birthday. It seems they are lacking attention to the finer details but are pretty close to a fantastic b and b.
Dorris and I arrived at 3pm Saturday for a one night stay. There was a few people waiting to book in, even with this, the process was handled quickly, efficiently, and in a friendly manor. The place was very clean and tidy, our room, No 3, was warm and the bed was very comfortable, and we had a great sea view. The ablutions were very clean. The breakfast was a buffet style affair. I couldnt fault the breakfast, or the service. I have no idea why this has not got more stars. A very pleasing experience.
Not exactly like the pictures. The breakfast was ok but if you wanted beans, sausage and bacon you needed to get down early as once it was gone it was gone! We stayed in what is described as the "penthouse" it was just the attic and no lift to bring your stuff up there. It was spacious however and my 2 children liked it up there it was good as we were upstairs alone. The signal on The tv was poor so limited freeview channels to watch. It was cold up there to however when we asked The staff to put heating on they did. The parking is on street and it was fine to find a spot. It was just opposite the beach and not far from town. The staff were nice and friendly.
Friendly staff, excellent service. Rooms clean and tidy but would say the drains need some bleach. Breakfast is Hot full English to toast and cerial, would recommend here cause of quiet location facing the sea and a mile from centre.
The room smelt like sewage, outside the room was untidy with bedding everywhere when we arrived after our check in time. Not a good first night of married life. Glad we had friends who came to meet us.
Got there on Saturday and half the staff had walked out. No sign of any management. 17 year old cleaner had to teach herself how to book people in. She had only been there two weeks and was brilliant. Well done Jess. Breakfast was basic and on Monday all there was was sausage bacon and beans. Or cereal. Will not recommend or go here again. My youngest was bitten by bedbugs as well. Spoiled what was meant to be a lovely weekend in Llandudno. Wish I could award zero stars.
The staff here are great - they work very hard to make this place work, but there arent enough staff because the new owners ( beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/10119012/officersare greedy and/or incompetent. This led to terrible problems with rooms not being ready for check-in for most guests during my stay. Staff are being expected to cover roles that they havent been trained for. And the new owners have added several rooms in the basement which are not fit for purpose: tiny, noisy and badly designed. My room (3bis so small that the door cant open all the way because it hits the bed and the only window looks out onto the inside of a crumbling lean-to. Picture attached. This place got good reviews before it changed hands in 2016. The owners need to buck-up their ideas or this place will go under, and soon.
We enjoyed our stay very much at the Manor Hotel.Very nice friendly staff and the Hotel is in a good location.Beautiful sea views, plenty of free parking and free WiFi. The full English breakfast was fabulous. Will definitely stay there again.Thank you to all the staff at the hotel. Josie and John Lamb.
I was given a warm & friendly welcome by a very efficient & bubbly receptionist I had Booked a single room but when she took me downstairs to what she said was their new rooms I was put into what I felt was a closet room 3b. The window also didnt open and it looked out into another room so no proper ventilation. Also it is next to the laundry so all you hear is the washing machines. If staying in a single room my advice is not room 3b. I did complain to the receptionist who found me another new room right next door no.4 also under the hotel which was a huge beautifully decorated famiy room. I was very appy with that room untill the someone upstairs flushed the toilet or ran water and it was then so noisy it was impossiable to here the TV. Also any movement upstairs which seemed to be about 1.30am was very noisy. I was also very dissapointed with the serve yourself breakfast the bacon was under cooked and dripping with fat the scambled egg hadnt been properly scambled and tough. Over all I was very unimpressed with the Manor Hotel. Its caters more for the younger crowd so lots of evening noise but thats not a complaint i can always stay in a hotel more for my age group next time. Thesse are my honest and personel comments.
Nice welcome. Pleasant decor in public areas. Well decorated bedroom. Bathroom a bit tired. Needed a new mattress, but slept ok. Fantastic view of the Orme and Bay from my room.
Cheap and cheerful but very pleasant. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Room was fairly small but for me that was fine. Nice decor and clean. Bathroom clean but a little dated and the shower was okay but also not great either. 2 deposable plastic cups for drinking from in the room. Glass ones would be far more tactful management! All in all, I had a very enjoyable stay!
Stayed here for one night. There was no hotel staff (letter with key was left on deskand no heat. The room was dirty and so were the linens. Comforter and pillow cases had random hairs on them plus there were crumbs of some sort under the pillow. The towels were yellowish. Worst place Ive stayed in awhile.
The Manor Hotel is staffed by great people who go out of their way to assist in any of your needs. We called and had a couple of drinks at the bar, but we found the ambience relaxing so we stayed and had lunch in the restsurant. The whole afternoon was lovely and we will definitely visit again.
The Manor "Hotel" is a glorified B&B. It does not offer food at any other time. Twice I ordered coffee in the bar and it was like warm. Our bedroom(I had booked a twin roomwas a family room with 2 single beds, without bedside lamps and a double bed. The lay out of the room was very dangerous with barely 2" between the foot of the bed and a walk. My husband actually fell in the middle of the night trying to squeeze past to go to the loo.The staff were very helpful and friendly, the hotel was reasonably clean but the shower in our bathroom went from icy cold to scaldingly hot. I think it was due to the water pressure as we were on the 2nd floor. I was very disappointed.
Stayed for 2 night with friends. On arriving hotel looked very nice quite a bit further along the prom than I had thought when we booked, but that was ok. Staff friendly and hotel clean. We stayed in room 10 right next to the fire door, to the next floor this was very noisy could hear the door banging constantly radiator did not get warm the whole time we were there, we spoke to a member of staff and was told that she would inform the manager I heard nothing, our friends who we ere travelling with were in room 3 they had to resort in putting there pillows under the matress so they did not fall out of bed and could get some sleep, this mattress had seen a lot of better days, they also spoke to a member of staff and had the same response as us. I would not stay in this hotel again which is a shame
We stayed 3 days, two days we were in room 1 which is on floor level because of my limited mobility, I hated it! Right next to the public toilet which wasnt stated when I booked the room (otherwise I wouldnt have booked!and could hear room 2s television which was right above my head on a thin wall when I was in bed, so loud! I complained and the manager (not suresaid he would ask them to keep it down, it didnt help. After a second sleepless night I asked for a room change, which to their credit I got straight away and with no argument...to room 2. It was much quieter and I could enjoy my last night. But as there are only two rooms on floor level if room 2 wasnt available, what then?Breakfast staff were really friendly, full of the local knowledge and helpful to anyone who asked!Unless improvements made, I would say avoid room 1!
