Relaxed, colourful, fairy light garden cocktail lounge and comfort food diner, staging live music.
It’s always a good nice with amazing environment, kind and fun staff really top it off! My favourite part is the huge covered garden where smoking is allowed, perfect for those chilly evenings or rainy days
This place was great fun, the live music was awesome.Updated cause accidentally gave 4 stars at first.
Was ok, not great.Disorganized, dirty.Everyone smoking on the outside tables, wich made it impossible for us to sit there.
Looks a bit rough from the outside but when you get in you get a good welcome. The orchestra was playing which was amazing. Recommend
Best vibes in London , you will hey them in the Magic Garten !!!
Lots of old furniture inside, could be considered quirky but given the dirty condition of lots of the sofas, it was just kinda gross. Cocktails are cheap but bad quality. Live music in the evening but quite loud and not good.
Great music venue, with Live Music almost everyday of the week. Friendly crowd and relaxed atmosphere!
Booked a space for 15, months in advance to celebrate my birthdayPros:- We arrived 25 mins late and the team were kind to hold our space when I informed them I was running late- Large quirky outdoor area- Bring your own food- Good prices and tasty cocktailsCons:- The space for 15 was actually two benches that could fit 6 people. I voiced my concerns to the manager as other tables who had booked for similar numbers had been given large dedicated areas. His response was to keep referring to the terms & conditions and they can’t guarantee seating for all on busy days like this. The confirmation email states “your reserved area will include a combination of seating and standing space. Don’t worry there will be plenty of space for you and your guests” 6 seats for 15 people on a busy night, where do you expect people to stand? We noticed a group was leaving and no other booking signs were propped up so we moved to a much larger table. The management could have easily done this for us to begin with but seemed like they didn’t care given how “busy” they were anyway- My partner had brought a cake along and asked if they could store it. The immediate response was yes but you can’t sing happy birthday in the garden due to noise complaints. First time I’ve heard that but I’m guessing they have a valid reason for this. Staff came twice asking whose birthday it was and strictly informing the whole group to not sing happy birthday (we hadn’t even brought out the cake yet). When my friend was queuing to get in and said he’s joining our party, he was reminded again not to sing happy birthday. Fair to say we were put off by cutting the cake there altogether and moved to the next venue who were very pleasant about it
Staff is super nice with the exception of one racist lady in her 50s. She came to our table a few times to complain and even after we left (because of hershe came and told we could not chat in front of their place (we were in the sidewalk!!). Seriously thinking about bringing a lawsuit against this place
Great place to enjoy drinks with your friends. Definitely worth visiting.
Honestly one of the best chilled out pubs in London, and judging from the live music possibly better than the O2 in terms of value for money on live entertainment! Service is excellent and the setting superb, however if you dont wish to try it yourself I wont be disappointed as it will leave more room for me!
Don’t want to give you guys a bad review but your website and Google maps say you are open but turned up this evening and firmly shut. 25/07/22Maybe amend opening hours if you’re shut on Mondays?
Great atmosphere, reasonable prices. Highly recommended if you are in the area.
What a wonderful place. We were visiting from Canada and this place was just down the street from our Airbnb.Went in and saw a band called Don Kipper. Balkan psychedelic disco band. Wow they were great!!!. Met lots of very nice people. Great vibe in there. We went back and played the Tuesday open mic. Didnt have our guitars but everyone was very friendly and loaned us their guitars. Great fun!
Nice place but terrible service and expensive drinks. I think it’s in my top 3 of slowest drinking making and the staff didn’t even care about the lines of people they were waiting to make the drinks faster in any way
Do you like to listen nice music, and drink something nice in south london. Definitely one of the best places you can choose!
Intriguing little place, half hippie commune and half pub. Live music on Tuesday and Friday.
Great pub with lovely covered large outdoor area. Live music on weekend eves. no food in eve but can bring your own. A few board games too. .
Lovely venue with live music and a huge covered outdoor area. They dont serve food, but theyre happy for you to order in, which is awesome.
The place is beautiful and the staff is nor terrible, but the guy that runs the place is quite peculiar.Piece of advice:If youre on duty and youre running the place, perhaps dont get smashed. This sort of thing would never have happened in a professional music venue in London.
Incredible place. Half dive bar music venue half beautiful beer garden. Absolutely you should pop in and see whats up
I used to love it but on my latest visit the bar staff was shushing me for talking at a pretty standard level even though I was at the back of the venue. Didnt feel welcome.
Bouncers were the best especially the lovely lady who didn’t think I’d write this
Great vibes here, the staff are friendly and helpful, the garden is truly magical, and the live music is always stand-out! The loos could do with some attention, a couple were out of order when I last visited, but the others function so cant really complain!
Cool outdoor space . Was there for a birthday but they don’t allow you to sing happy birthday outdoors…. their “license” doesn’t allow it?? Bouncer was on a power trip enforcing this. It’s was also 8/9pm on a Saturday night. Day light robber with their pint prices
Possibly the most expensive pub drinks in London, combined with an owner who comes out and screams at you if you speak above a whisper in the garden past 10pm on a bank holiday Sunday. If noise is such an issue then perhaps close your pub garden earlier, rather than getting aggressive to your customers with no warning? It’s a shame as the pub itself is unique and is worth a visit for its novelty, but the experience we had was very unpleasant and unsettling. I hope that it is not something that anyone else will have to deal with, but I am not optimistic about that, so I have to recommend that people do not waste their time here
One of the best pubs Ive been due to their unique decoration. The outside area truly is something else. And to top it up they have live music.
What a great place!!!!! We visited for a birthday celebration. We had an area booked in the garden. Even though it was quite a chilling evening we were not really cold because there were enough heaters. They have lots of space available for booking (inside and outside). They let you order food from outside. You just tell the delivery to meet you at th door.
Brilliant venue, experienced under a live Salsa night. Love the decor. Garden is brilliant.
Very poor service, waited over 15 mins to get served at the bar, then waited over 40 mins for the food to be delivered to the table. The food was not what I expected, not very much to choose from and not very detailed on what you actually get, when a pub says fish and chips on the menu, I expect to get battered fish, not a fillet of fish and sweet potato fries, burger and chips, is actually burger and sweet potato fries, and the burger was griserly. Then because they were a little busy they closed the kitchen and half my party didnt get to order anything at all. For the price they charge I really expected more. Totally disappointing.
Just been to a wake for a dear friend there...the staff were brilliant...👉❤👈ps great old school atmosphere too👍
Had pre fireworks drinks at this quirky little pub near Queenstown Road station. The decor is totally bonkers but I like that. They were setting up stage for live music so put your dancing shoes on. Decent selection of drinks at okay prices. Friendly staff.
Starting with the good stuff, this place is lovely inside, the interiors have a warm feeling with very interesting and fun designs in each room. I was looking forwards to coming here for a dinner with my partner for her birthday and booked ahead. With confirmation messages from the magic garden prior, I was very excited. However, upon arrival there were only two staff members, live music was indoors no where near the seating areas and we felt ignored when wanting to order food, after waiting a long time with no instruction or help from staff we decided it was best to leave. I cant imagine what the wait for the food would have been. Overall a disappointing experience which is a shame as the place could be absolutely amazing.
Great outdoor space. But we booked for 20 people in advance, and there was only space for 16 of us packed tightly around three small tables. My friend asked inside about why this was the case and the manager was rude and aggressive towards her. Thankfully, the other staff members sourced some dining room chairs. Also claim to serve gluten free food but declined anything is gluten free when ordering. Overall a massive let down as I heard good things.
Great venue, fun atmosphere with live music however I went in hoping for some food as someone who is gluten intolerant. I was told at the bar (despite it being labelled on the menu GFI was told I wasn’t able to eat and turned away. Also, my friends were treated extremely poorly by management staff, who were very rude and aggressive towards a woman. I can’t recommend this place less despite the atmosphere.
Came here for my birthday to see a band I like. Decors lovely, woman on the doors a legend, majority of the staff are hardworking professionals. However there is one bartender who is just the worst person Ive ever encountered in hospitality, and this is coming from someone who worked in the industry for six years. Like others have said on here, he was irrationally rude and impatient, and also seemed to take great delight in humiliating me for absolutely no reason. Managed to make me cry on my birthday! Would happily come back here again provided I dont have to see or interact with that dude.
Really unique place. Very eclectic beer garden with ample seating and shelter. Seats indoors can be hit-and-miss as some are a bit grimy. Big boho / student vibes, but unfortunately not student prices. You can get in the beer garden atm without booking, but better to book ahead and be sure with a large party.
Absolutely awesome Pub to chill or get a bit to eat ..... Family friendly and rate 10 out of 10.
Quirky / bohemian style bar with a chilled vibe. Drinks reasonably priced
Eclectic , fun and the staff are wonderful, if you are a people watcher as I am you will love variety of people that come here .The live music is just amazing .Outside is just wonderful in the summer , it becomes crowded but never rowdy and the security are efficient but v well mannered. If your the designated driver there is never an issue getting water with ice and lemon for free , ask say the staff ate lovely .
I love this place, I went for my friends 50th with her daughter. This was all our first time, and it was so different, just based in Battersea. You would think that this place is like this when you look at it from the outside, its like going to "Alice in Wonderland" kind of feel but as a pub. I really enjoyed the food there, I would recommend going there for a bite to eat if you like handmade chips and burger. To me, handmade chips when Im out is the best! The flavour in handmade chips, you would never, ever get buying them in stores. Trust me already!
I came here with my husband today and the visit was an absolute pleasure. I am very grateful with every single member of the staff. We had few drinks and we also ordered two fish and chips and were gorgeous... Our favourite side was the minted mushy peas. We also had desserts and coffee and is being one of the best I ever had. Thank you very much 🍀 to everyone in TMG.
Very cute, quiet pub with beautiful murals and garden. Setting up for an evening gig as we were leaving- wish could have stayed for it. But will definitely be back another time!
The staff are very friendly, the atmosphere is nice and cosy, and the food is DELICIOUS. We tried the green lasagne and vegan risotto, which are both new to the menu I think, and they were fantastic. Gotta love a pub that offers varied AND tasty V and VG options.
Magic Garden is a nice relaxed place to sit and have a drink. It’s notably kooky and a bit hoolie doolie which is kind of a vibe. The decor is wild. They run out of beer every now and then which is a bit odd but we forgive them because it’s a chill place
With warm staff to meet you in a cozy place and nice food there’s little to complain about.I had the roast beef for my dinner and it is extremely good value and tasted great.I’d love to give 5 stars but the toilets are absolutely freezing on a cold January evening.
Came here on a Saturday around 17:30 for a friend’s birthday drinks… was really looking forward to having some food here after ready all those reviews about how good their food was, but to our disappointment we were told on arrival that there was no chef in the kitchen that day, and they did not serve any food whatsoever, not even chips. Out of 3 ales on draft, 2 were not available. The staff were friendly and apologetic. They have a gorgeous beer garden at the back which was partially covered; however, it was hard to breath there as it was full of smokers. Left that place stinking of smoke & hungry. They also charge £7 to get in after 19:00 (no charge before that).
Just a great pile of people, both behind and in front of the bar. Live band coming on. This is what pubs are about!
Really nice place for birthday parties or big groups of people. Very cosy garden with lots of room under roof. I tried a tasty wagyu burger with fries (15£). They also had live music while I was there which was really nice. Definitely a good option if you are in Battersea.
Live music, Lively place. Great big garden, indoors great bands playing all night long. Excellent people, good drinks
