Food is good. American southern food with an international twist.

The Louisiana was an amazing overall experience. From the interior decoration and vast cocktail menu (we had the hurricane, but they have a cocktail helper to help you make a choice), to the voodoo chicken wings (a must try, that seasong was pure voodoo!!and the chicken gumbo. The service was fast and the staff is friendly (shoutout to Fausto for being a great host).5/5 and definitely looking forward to visit again soon.

I had a wonderful experience in this restaurant. Everything from the service to the food was amazing. The waiter was super nice and helpful. They have this waiter less system where you can order from your phone and pay immediately which is really convenient.The food was nice and their plating is on point. The portion size was alright, not too much not too little. The drinks were also really nice and I appreciate that they didn’t fill the cups with ice.

The food was delicious! Staff is super welcoming and friendly. Ordering from a QR-code and paying right away is very convenient. I especially liked the cocktail quiz, which sets you up with a fitting drink that you can order right away. We’ll definitely come back!

Food was ok. In my personal opinion there wasn’t enough butter for the lobster. Lobster’s roll bread wasn’t crunchy at all, but taste was alright. Fries had too much salt and “ coleslaw” was a nice salad but it wasn’t coleslaw. In general not too bad, but I would expect better taste for the price you pay.The worst experience were definitely cocktails. We ordered classic “ mezcal Negroni” and dirty martini. I don’t mind if bartender is doing free pouring, as long as he can actually do it. Negroni’s total amount of alcohol was 35ml, when this is the amount of 1 spirit you should use. Way too watery, which leads to lack of the taste. Dirty martini had again 30/35 ml of gin( while it suppose to be 75ml), lillet vermouth which is not a dry vermouth and wayyyy to much olives juice. If you like your drinks to be served in proper order do not order any. Unless it’s a beer, because you will be disappointed

Portions are tiny. The gumbo was the size of plate a 5 year old would eat. Food was mediocre and nothing like the Southern food Ive had back home. The place is kitsch and wayyy overpriced. It feels and tastes like someone googled what Lousiana food was liked and then created a whole concept and menu around something theyve never seen or tried in real life. Its a skip for me next time.

Great service, delicious lobster and just an amazing experience all together

Lobster, chicken wings, burger, oyster, steak! hard to choose the best of these. All has a different flavours to make you happy. Thanks to kitchen and all of the staff who devoted themselves to make my evening better.

Tasted just like home! The hushpuppies and fried pickles were bomb. Loved I was actually able to get a frozen drink! Staff was superb and friendly. Left happy as a lark and fat as a bullfrog.

lobster was very tasty, fries also! Wasnt really impressed with other stuff (rice with stew, chicken wings and corn flour balls)

An all-round decent lobster shack. The place is not over the top and it doesnt pretend to be. I like places that are focused on the specifics and do not overwhelm the menu, but this shack has gone a bit too basic. They do not need to necessarily add new items to the menu, but if they add a few more variations to some items, it will definitely get the dining experience there to another level.

Super chill and nice food

Delicious lobster and appetizers. Dont forget to ask about the bourbon (but strap yourself in for a journey to the heart of the bayou)

Excellent, had a brilliant time there! Great selection of cocktails, very tasty gumbo, vibrant and chatty staff, great atmosphere all around (especially with the live music).A lot of people dont seem to like the QR ordering system but personally I appreciate it. Its a peace of mind to pay straight away, and you can order whenever you want without trying to catch a waiter.

We went there because we heard a lot of positive things about the place. Cocktails were delicious and service was super friendly, but we were disappointed with the food of the buffet.Would prefer the regular dishes and then better quality food

Its far from what it used to be, the inside atmosphere has lost its spirit, weve ordered takeaway but the gumbo portions were a fraction of what it used to be, the rice used to be separate from the container of gumbo but now it was half gumbo and half rice within the container.Voodoo wings werent what they used to be, they were dry and tasteless as there wasnt enough seasoning.Youve got alot to improve, paying 40 euros for this is like robbing people.

General atmosphere - really cozy, transformative and cozy. Nice staff, nice decoration, nice drinks.Flavour of food - absolutely great. Had jambalaya, gumbo. Both up to par without a doubt. However the rib-eye was pretty poorly. Nice grill, but too thin, overpriced and no flavour. ribs were great, though a bit overglazed. fantastic wings with good spice. tasty blue cheese sauce. the fried pickles were juicier than real fried pickles are.Presentation - Sometimes little frying baskets were used which really fit the vibe, however most dishes were on white plates which are so oddly pristine to the otherwise rugged look. SUch a shame not to use something more fitting like vintage enamel plates... So many options to fit the style fo the cuisine!Ordering and timing - ordered some stuff that didnt arrive and ordered some stuff that arrived cold. I take this is just a startup issue, but it is a shame.Shared dining portion size balance was all over the place. Wings were amazing and cost far less than the gumbo which was arguably less big. Very hard to guess how much had to be ordered for a party. Standardised portion sizes would help. Jambalaya, Gumbo, ALl protein dishes... Should all exclude rice which can then be ordered separately. The small bowls that those came in were far too small!Overall, 6/10 with minor tweaks this is an 8/10 restaurant. Hope you guys consider it!

We just attempted to eat here tonight. Made a reservation and everything, and yet we could not get service. We sat for 25 minutes before we were even given drink menus. Three tables that arrived 15-20 minutes after us not only received menus while we sat, but they also got drink orders taken before we even had received the menus. The waitress approached us only as she saw us putting our coats on to leave. At this point we have been sitting for around 35-40 minutes. We ask about receiving food menus, and she suggested that there were so many large parties sitting (2 of which arrived AFTER usthat we shouldn’t expect to order food anytime soon?? In a restaurant??? We left. Will not return. Would obviously leave 0 stars if possible.

I wish I could give zero stars. The service is just terrible tonight Sunday 17 October 2021. It was not a busy Sunday night as more than 25% of the tables were empty. Waited nearly an hour to get our drink orders taken, and when we asked for a food menu we were told it would take extraordinarily long because there were some large parties ordering as well (that arrived after us, we had a reservation). The tone from the wait staff was "you probably shouldnt even bother ordering food because it will take so long."I wish I could review the food, but we never made it that far. Trying this place ruined our night. Ill be sure to tell everyone I know about how bad the service at this place is.

Fantastic place. Ordered via Deliveroo, food came quick and spot on for our big order. The food tastes amazing and its a fair price for it. Had the Angus beef burger, the Poy Boy burger, fries, cheesecake and pecan pies. All amazing! Cant wait to try their gumbo and ribbs.The Deliveroo app had glitched and I was worried the order came through twice. Called the owner who was very nice on the phone and it was all sorted anyway.Cant recommend enough!

Had the surf & turf, was delicious. Even though I love lobster I may have enjoyed the entrecôte even more.

Honestly, one of the best restaurants in The Netherlands. The atmosphere and hospitality makes you feel at home right away. All the staff are incredibly nice and there to help. The food though, is on another level, you can taste the passion and love being put into it and every bite keeps you wanting more. After your main course, I highly recommend the luscious cheesecake.

Very nice food, nice amd helpful staff. Cocktail card has been expanded since i last ate here in 2018, they added very nice cocktails. The menu is broad and theres something on there for everyone. It was delicious!

Amazing food, chill and relaxed vibe, fantastic service and the prices are pretty good for what you get. The portions are very generous for a restaurant in the Netherlands. Were definitely going again and we 100% recommend it. Parking isnt easy, but its in the heart of Haarlem so it is to be expected, but its worth the effort! My husband says their ribs are the best ones hes had outside the US (and he orders ribs at every restaurant). There were two mojitos on the menu and somehow it wasnt well understood which one I ordered. So the wrong one was brought to the table. I didnt wanted to ask but one of my friends asked for me and I got the one I wanted in no time. And best yet, the one that was brought mistakenly, was free of charge! Great service and very nice and funny staff. What a great little place.

Nice American place in Haarlem! The feel and the menu remind of the USA indeed and all you can eat wings on Wednesday night tops it off nicely! Great little place for cocktails and american food!

I like that this place is not so big. I called half an hour earlier to make a reservation. When we arrived they couldn’t find my reservation but luckily there’s a table free. Cocktails were delicious and didn’t taste any alcohol in our Flaming Hurricane and Daiquiri’s you’d think they were virgin cocktails. My friends ordered a second round of cocktails. This time the Mojito’s seem to have a bit of alcohol taste, I didn’t order but the waitress came with a third drink (Pirate’s somethingturned out it was a mistake but offered it to me anyway for free. It was a sweet drink with chili- quite exotic, i liked it. Still i didn’t feel tipsy, my friends did somehow. I ordered catfish - it was too salty and the side wasn’t so tasteful either. My friends were happy with their Surf & Turf, the prawns seem to be deliciously marinated. We tried the Pecan pie and it was so tasty! Prices are slightly on the higher side but somehow worth it. Lastly, the waitress remained civil all-throughout but somehow we got the feeling she was not too crazy about us.. the other male attendants felt warmer. I’ll come back again next time and try their live music night.

I rarely rarely write reviews but felt I needed to since I had pretty bad experience here. I ordered the gumbo which had 2 pieces of shrimp, one was very undercooked almost raw. I told the the waitress (a blonde womanwho questioned me “how does it look raw to you?” I explained it’s not pink and almost gray. I don’t understand why I have to explain anything to her, I showed her the raw shrimp. She got annoyed and said she’ll talk to the chef. She then brought it back to say the chef said it’s cooked fully, I explained I am 12 weeks pregnant and I cannot eat undercooked meat or seafood, she just said congratulations. So nothing was done about it, instead I was questioned and they tried to reassure me that I was wrong. Horrible service/attitude. We found another shrimp that was more cooked and it was clearly pink. She could have handled it situation more professionally. This ruined my night, I was upset and couldn’t finish my meal. I should have talked to the manager instead.

The voodoo wing is soooooo good! Highly recommend that as starter! They thoughtfully bring wipes along with the wings. The lobster is fresh and ribs are tasty. They offer big portion. Overall a very satisfying meal.

Limited menu. Average service. Above average price per head. Avocado salad is not a dish that I would recommend for vegetarians - for one the portion is tiny and then avocado is not the main ingredient compared to the volume of green leaves, raw red and yellow pepper pieces etc. There are no other warm dish options for vegetarians going out with meat-loving friends.

A little taste of America, right in the heart of Haarlem. Had a great time the host was really nice. I recommend the whole lobster. Freshly cooked (you can the see the tank where they swim)

As a Gulf Coaster I can vouch for the genuine Louisiana flavor! Delicious Lobster feast. Great selection of beers and liquor. Friendly staff willing to answer questions and serve you right. Hang with your friends or belly up solo to the bar.

The Louisiana is a lovely informal dinner in the centre of Haarlem. All the food coming out out the kitchen looked amazing! I had had the Brother from another Mother which had both lobster and crab, it was really nice and fresh! Its a great place for a dinner with friends or just a relaxing night with your partner. For romance this is not the place. The service is really friendly 😀

Really nice place, lobster fest and good meat!! The staff is nice and careful. The lobsters are really good and if you can ask for the biggest they have... Just got a 900g beast, a beauty! They also have a nice cocktail menu to make it even better. If you are in Harleem you must try it...

As a Louisianan living in the Netherlands, this is the best food Ive had here. The boudin balls, gumbo, and pecan pie are on point. Genuine Louisiana with spices and everything. The atmosphere also made me feel like I was in New Orleans. Fantastic. Cant wait to do it again.

A place not to be missed if your path leads to Haarlem. Very centrally located, amazing food, great staff and cocktails. The gumbo, the chicken wings and the lobster are a must. For sure will return to this place. A great overall experience :Thank you
