The London Pub - Pub in Kinkala, Republic of the Congo
Foods, drinks and atmosphere was nice
Here is perfect to watch football…
The food is good but the service was extremely poor. Not very nice and took a long time to get our stuff.
Extremely rude waiter! Hope he burns in hell.. Dont recommend this place to anyone!!
I had the fish and chips several times. I was never disappointed. The outdoor dining experience was nice. I ordered inside at the bar and gave them my outside table number. There are several outdoor television screens to watch games.
Well where to start, I ordered hot and spicy wings to begin with. I struggled to find the chicken under the vast amount of crispy batter on the outside. They were average at best and lacked any flavour or spice. This was then followed by fish and chips. I’m not one for microwave food but if this was fresh I’d eat a hat. The chips were luke warm, the mushy peas cold and the tartare sauce had a film around the edges as though it had been stood around for quite some time. If we then move on to the fish the best and only good part of this was the batter, the fish itself was watery and lacked any taste at all. I understand it’s a run of the mill eatery attached to a very poor hotel but it takes very little effort to put food out which is actually worth eating. I wouldn’t be paid to eat here let alone come back again. The worst food I’ve tasted in London.
Reliable busy pub next to the Royal National Hotel. No cask beer but interesting keg options. Good food menu.
Food was quite unappealing. Burger buns needed a chainsaw to be cut, otherwise quite okay-tasting. Fries were too thick and thus raw, ate two. Halloumi-fries were okay. Service was slow but not nearly as slow as some reviews point out, at least that was the case for us. Almost all the beers were unavailable. If not staying in the hotel nextdoor, wouldnt bother. Football was playing on the TV so maybe if youre interested that might be a benefit?
Compulsory service charge even when at the bar. Gave us the wrong drinks. Service for food good and nice screens outside but compulsory service charge at the bar is unforgivable
Compulsory service charge even when going up to the bar, and gave me a more expensive drink than I asked for, so it worked out being a 7 quid pint. very poor, would not recommend.
We had to py before getting are plats, and wait a long moment to get thems. The waiters (and there was a lot of themdidint take the time to see if everything was okay, and it wasent. We have beiing very thirsty in this bar!?!The food was good, but it took too much time to receive it...think they were gone fishing the fish and chip!
Came in and order a pint and half, prices seemed ok but the bill showed an extra amount added. They add on to the bill a 10% service charge for doing there job and serving drinks? Confused!
Okay but nothing special.
Drinks are ok. Atmosphere isn’t special, services takes a bit toooo long…
The service is horrible. We are waiting two hours to become something to eat.
Great pub with authentic fish & chips. All Americans must have.
The food was great, i had fish and chips and my daughter had the beef burger, it was great and very clean. When we were there, it wasnt busy at all. The clients were chatting and eating meaning that they were already served. We sat down and the server gave us the menu, we sat there for a good 10 minutes and he never came back to our table, so I had to go and order and paid right away, being from the US I thought it was normal, as we were eating, other patrons came and sat next to us, the same server came to their table and TOOK there order 😂. My daughter noticed and laughed, mind you we are black and they are white. But I wouldnt say it was racism, maybe they just didnt think that we could afford to eat there. But again the food was awesome, so we were satisfied. Were used to this type of thing so it wasnt a big deal.
Stopped in for drinks and tried the Passion Fruit Martini which was amazing!! It was just sweet enough without being overly sweet.
I had curry with pumpkin and spinach. Aside with rice and a salad, it was tasty
A nice Pub. It is located within the Royal National Hotel and serves as one of their restaurants. You will meet hotelguests rather than locals, but (as we experiencedif there is a match on, the guests go wild as anywhere.Typical Pub food, beers, ciders. All in a good price range. If you cant make it to a "real" Pub, this is your choice.
Very quiet, old fashioned London pub. Decent pint and lovely staff.
Very touristy pub inside the hotel. Good range of beers.
Tourist trap, sure. But they had a table and have a kids menu so we loved it.
No cocktails served as half an hour to closing. Guinness very poor. No atmosphere in the pub
Decent pub, wouldve been 4 stars had my food been served on a plate. Reasonable prices for London.
Friendly local pub, decent reasonably priced food.
What a great pub. So clean and staff were lovely. There were hour of us. We had fish and chips twice and also scampi and fish twice. It was, well cooked and presented beautifully. It cost £9.50 each. Portions were so generous. Stopped there on the way to Euston Station. So glad we did. It was great
10% service charge when you order at the bar and the unending smell of chip fat would recommend elsewhere
Had a very nice time here. Food was extremely nice and not expensive. Staff were very helpful and there was a very nice atmosphere, not too busy either which was good.
Alfonso was attentive and friendly... We will return, but a Sunday roast would be beneficial
Service charge not optional?! Ordered something at the bar that should’ve been £6, was presented with £6.60 on the card machine, when questioned, the cashier said they add it on to bring it to you… even though I’d ordered at the bar and picked it up myself… Very strange concept, no wonder it only has a 3.8 rating
Was pretty good in terms of service. Menu was straightforward but not too fancy or in depth. Way of ordering was a little complicated but once done the food was brought to the table at different times. The mm eals were well cooked and really hot. Desserts were a little sparse in terms of choice
Nice venue to watch the footy. Very friendly staff & management. There is an outside area too where you can sit but for the big games they need to be booked.
Bad processes under Covid-19. Staff gave it a go, but it was basically chaos today. Appreciate Euro 2020 isnt easy to host, but losing orders and letting tables get out of hand are fundamentals.
Visited twice before the lockdown, once before and once after the refurb and the team there did such an outstanding job! Looks completely different and credit to them as you can tell a lot of hard graft goes into keeping everything spick and span!Only ate once but had the breakfast and Ive got to say ,considering the area, it was fantastic! huge big ol portion which defiantly tasted and looked sensational. This was complimented by some of the areas best outside seating and some real eye catching drinks one the bar.Only reason for 4 Stars was because of the toilets. On route to you walk by a lot of empty barrels, close proximity, which is a bit uncomfortable.
Kind of a hidden gem !!! Very close to Russel Square !! Round the corner.. Nice food and drinks. Really nice back bit that opens up to the hotel courtyard . Can eat dine there in peace or with company and fun, and is protected from the rain. Amicable friendly staff. Will be back. The crowd is great too.
Not crowded, pubs provide a great refuge for travellers in the age of Covid-19. The fish and chips were fine as was the service. Everything was clean.
this pub serves Guinness - that is all i care - but they have a very un usual place to store there beer kegs 😂
I have a feeling that they dont clean their pipes regularly enough and so would not really recommend it. The single pint that I was severed on a Thursday has given me a headache already. Price is fine though.
Good beer, solid food, needed more salt for my taste, real pub atmosphere. Staff helpfull
Beer is kept fine. Staff are polite. Womens toilets were clean but this was not the case for the mens. However, the pub itself was drab and dull. Lacking in atmosphere. There are better pubs in the surrounding area you can go to.
For me it very nice place with respectable prices. Customer service is very nice and helpful. I dont know if food is good but alcohol prices are good :-so if you are near Russel Square dont hasitate to visit this place.
The beer was very good. It’s a nice place to relax and have a drink. I often visit here with my friends and always have nice time here. Good prices on food and drink make is even more attractive. Recommend visiting this place.
Dismal with no redeeming features other than itt was fairly quiet: obvious in hindsight why that was. Fish and chips was poor, peas wee dreadful. They would not open a tab at the bar. Beer selection was limited and unappealing but I was drinking mineral water, so I was lucky there.
Ive been to this place many times and it never failed me. They have a wide range of fantastic wines and delicious dishes. Its a fantastic place for a glass of wine and nibbles or a sit-down dinner......!!
Ate here twice during our stay up the road. Both meal selections were filling pub grub just the thing for tired tourists. Service was polite and friendly for this area full of tourists it is a must.
Lovely atmosphere, good food and even typical interiors. Ive been to London twice and in both the occasions Ive had a really good fish and chips at the London pub. The position is great since its really central and very close both the Royal National Hotel and the Tavistock Hotel. Highly recommended!
Took my family for the day out and decided to have a meal in the pub. Unfortunately our meal wast nice. Ordered chicken Kiev which did not taste nice. The most disappointing was dismissive attitude towards customers. We felt like nasty intruders here. Definitely wont be coming back.
Friendly welcome atmosphere, went to watch the football, and have a meal, good portion sizes and a good value for money. Drinks a bit pricy but it is London. Plenty of tvs for sports fans, good air conditioning, it was 31degrees outside!!
The best fish and chips! And the bartender was good, I was unsure of what to order, as I didnt have much experience with alcohol, and his recommendation was delicious. Only issue is they stop serving food kinda early.
