Costumed actors and themed fairground rides depicting macabre stories from London's past.
Always a pleasure - the actors are great youngsters ❤️Equally scary and funny but not gor children (or adultsof a nervous disposition - there were several young children in our group who were a bit too young. Finally - please let children go to the front to see and not elbow them out of the way like 2 men in our group did repeatedly!
Enjoyable activity for adults and children, well worthwhile family activity. Tour takes about 75 minutes. The staff are very good with their interactive roles, which just makes the tour even better. Only toilets are at the beginning, so keep this in mind when you go. Sited very closely to several underground stations, so easy to get to.
Fantastic experience! Staff were all great and stayed in character the whole time. Learnt lots about the dark history of London while having fun. A great immersive experience. We spent around 2.5 hours in there during the Halloween season.
For the most part, its a master class in surprise--many of the jump scares are quite creative. I love the theme which connects all the scenes although this isnt a place to get a history lesson. In fact, some of the suspense comes from the fact that you know what could happen: very Hitchcockian. There are little twists which subvert your expectations--starting from the first boat ride scenario. There are some weak spots but the good ones are so good that I gave it 5 stars anyway. The experience was also long enough that I felt the price was good value. The actors were exceptional and the dark comedy was "bloody good". Bottom line: I had a great time. Spoilers ahead:Although there was a lot of potential, the great London fire is the weakest of all the scenes. Suggestion: have a beam lit with "fire" drop partly down from the ceiling and crank up the heat in the room are two things which would have made the getting trapped in a burning building much more exciting and harrowing.
I took my 8 year old nephew and he had a great time! Love the interactive elements where the staff include members of the audience. There were a number of things that went right over his head though, and the scenes arent really detailed enough to get a grasp of whats happening without prior knowledge. Still a great experience and well worth a visit!
Went during Halloween, do not touch the actors lve learned the hard way..they could make it a bit more scarier. Thats why only 4 stars otherwise good day out.
Excellent trip to the dungeons today as a family of 5 youngest 9 years old, oldest 15years. The staff were fantastic and the scenarios were fun, and educational. Think horrible histories with less facts and more jumps. We used ear defenders for our youngest so it was less scary. We all enjoyed it. It took longer than the 50 minutes on the website, but maybe I read that wrong. Would recommend but not for nervous children. Several of the children in the audience were clearly not enjoying the experience but we all loved it!
Shockingly poor ‘attraction’. The London Dungeon used to leave the ‘scare’ factor to the historical facts and stories which educated, shocked and entertained in equal measure. Now, gone is the informative history and scary wax works and other mock ups, and in their place is a very shoddy attempt to create a scary theme park, relying on too-dark corridors, shouts, shocks and screams (none of which remotely worried or impressed my 13 year old son let alone the adults on the group).Hugely disappointed. Save your hard earned cash for an attraction which deserves it.
A little too long for an adult (almost 2 hours in my case), but its alright. Its not really scary, except for kids. Also, they take a photo of you in the beginning. And you can buy it before you go.I waited 10 min to get in.Remember that they have airport like security checks (you cant bring sharp objects).Check the prices, these attractions are managed by the same company: London Eye, Sea Life, London dungeons, Shrek experience. Soy if you buy a multi attraction ticket, you can get huge discounts. For example, I did the first three for 60£.Also, you should book a time slot for them. Although they didnt control it and I was off time in some of them.In any case, you can rebook each attraction up to 10 times. Even if the times close.Enjoy!
Excellent tour with brilliant actors depicting historic events and engaging in frightening visitors en route too. Hospitality staff were polite and asked if we had enjoyed the visit. Following the tour had a nice drink in the Old Boozer which finished our visit off nicely prior to our journey home.
This tour is amazing. It takes more than one hour so ensure that you have plenty of time to complete. I have visited many haunted establishments and this is one well worth the hefty cost. Once you see how interactive and detailed the actors and props are, you will be more than ecstatic to come back. Highly recommend for any tourist.
Not good if you dont speak English. Hasnt changed in 18 years, still the same old.Got soaking wet on the water ride, recommend do not sit at the back. Poor acting by the staff. The props are dated and not realistic. For £31 I recommend spend your money on
I have been here multiple times in the past but this time I had my partner with me. As it was his first time in London I had to make sure he experienced the London Dungeons and sure was he surprised! We had the best afternoon. The actors are outstanding. The little scary parts in between are top notch and made the experience even better. The ending of the experience, I wish there was a second drop or maybe a longer drop. Overall we had the best afternoon and will be sure to return. Great value for money also.
Great fun for a family with young children. The animators are full of enthusiasm and make you feel like you are the first visitors.
This was an awesome experience! It’s basically live action scripted play that you get to watch as they explain the history of London. Each room that the tour brings you on has a different set of actors that are dressed up and enact pieces of history.I learned a lot, had a blast, and will definitely go again if I end up in London. For all ages.Better to make an appointment before going.
Wow.I absolutely love coming here and have visited 4 times already.I love the costumed actors and the settings really bring the experience to life.Located right near the river Thames it a loving location and the queue to get inside isn’t a very long wait. Not suitable for timbers kids whom don’t like the dark and are jumpy.Fascinating to learn about the darker side of London. A really interesting interactive experience.Best to prebook tickets as you can find some great deals online.
Went with my mom and I wouldve never expected it to be the best experience of my life. The place, the effects, the ambiance, the actors... Everything was so good, in sync, scary -but not too much. I cant wait to come back!
SO MUCH FUN, actors are really good, funny and make the history come alive. Noting overly scary or intense, be smart and dont bring kids under 5 to this, its not for them, but kids will love it too, lots of flashes and audiovisual spectacle going on, the drop at the end of the experience is a fun way to end it all. Lots of pretend gore, torture and dark comedy situations, very recommended
Absolutely amazing experience! Completely exceeded my expectations. The whole experience took about 1 hour 15 minutes. The performers were incredible. The set pieces great. Lots of fun scares too. HIGHLY recommend if you are in London.
This was an amazing experience. I had no idea how good it would be and how long it went on for. It really was worth the money. Very creepy and jumpy with a really well done atmosphere that has you in a jumpy mood as you go along. Great actors that add to the setting. I genuinely loved this.
Having last visited the London Dungeons in 2000 at the previous site, I have always maintained fond memories and couldnt wait to go back. What I wasnt prepared for was that this interactive experience well and truly outdone what I had seen previously. It was absolutely brilliant.1. The actors were outstanding and got really into it.2. The set up and themes were great, the whole visit just flowed nicely after the initial very short queue.3. Interaction was great and getting people out front was hilarious.4. It was a great run through the history books with some interesting facts.5. The two rides were an awesome surprise (although it does say on the website).6. Great value for money. All in all it was a great experience, not rushed through and extremely enjoyable. Highly recommended.
Was brilliant !The actors were fantastic !I wouldnt take children who scare easy, my youngest who is 11 got 3/4 of the way round before he needed to go out the back because he couldnt do any more. Was very dark and the boat ride was really good.Would highly recommend!
Funny, entertaining and educational. Even for three adults there wasn’t a dull moment. Had a great time and would definitely recommend. The actors are effects are very good and the ride at the end is just brilliant. Definitely worth the money.
Amazing experience for all (our group was aged between 8-65). Thoroughly recommended. The only negatives were that they crammed a few too many people into each group as you walk around (we missed a few bits because of it), and it was pretty pricey (but worth it in my opinion).
We really enjoyed our visit here, all the actors were brilliant and believable characters really enhancing the experience. It was good to visit here as we live near York Dungeon so a good comparison with different experiences to enjoy.I think you could maybe improve by adding some more themed open areas to enjoy to explore rather than feeling ushered from one room to another. I think an open London street would be very interesting, similar to your end bar area.We would happily visit again!
Better than expected and good value for money. Not sure if it is really for young children, and definitely not for those afraid of the dark. My 3 daughters (17 - 22enjoyed the experience, especially as I was picked out 3 times to be tortured, and to disappear.Good entertainment, well staged.
Very well organized.safety first class. Fantastic experience with a family of teen-agers.I also need to say how fantastic the staff were . All their acting was fantastic making the experience very special.
May be it is just me, didnt like it at all, sorry, could be different for others.Toilets were clean, souvenir shop & pub was good
The performers were outstanding and did such a good job to really anchor you into the whole spooky atmosphere. There were funny interactions, laughs and giggles, as well as scary sections with the occasional shiver and jumping at things moving in the darkness. All in all a very well rounded experience with fun rides and a nicely told story. I particularly liked the performance of the jester, just in the beginning of the tour! Hes done very well to introduce you to the setting and take you into the vibe of the spooky story. But in the end it was a lovely combination of all their work, bringing together an overall good atmosphere throughout the tour.
Great fun and obviously scary experience. Have done it two and still enjoyed it immensely the second time. Actors were very authentic.
Highly recommended! You get a glimpse into some of the darkest periods of Londons history. The actors and actresses were really brilliant and never broke character.I visited this back in 2016 and again just a few weeks ago. I could truly say that the experience was better on my second visit, and I recommend those who enjoyed it to come back again.P.S. The freefall ride at the end was my favourite.
Incredible. If I had to choose one place to go in London, would be here! Very interactive, loads of live performances and educational scripts, really interesting. Kinda spooky inside. Theres not only a boat ride but also a drop ride inside!! Really fun. Staff were incredible performers. Only complaint is door staff seem like they dont want to be there, a shame since everyone else was amazing!
Fantastic afternoon out, actors all really great at the atmosphere very well set throughout. Plenty of tense moments in the dark, with a few jumps for good measure!Shame today the last bit was not functioning but not a big part for me personally, they gave a voucher to return at another time.We had annual passes but some in our group had two-for-one vouchers, and at £15 each it is great value here.
Amazing experience! I thought I was going on some scary attraction. It turned out to be a very historical learning experience. The stories where supported by some great actors. The effects where amazing, I am still trying to figure how they did some of the props.Overall, great experience!
To be honest, I was very scared at first, but it was incredibly fun. Amazing experience, even more amazing actors! Definitely a to do for horror fans!
Absolutely AMAZING!!!Went with my school on Thursday for a history trip, and was VERY creepy and scary, while, educating their consumers on English history. The actors were so into their roles, and the little details made the experience EVEN MORE memorable. The only slight hindrance would be the ride, I believe you have to be 140 (?to be able to go on it, so some may be upset because of that.As a warning, be wary of allowing children not in secondary school to participate because, like I said, it can be a bit frightening due to the eerie atmosphere, content, and actors.Either way, 100 out of 10 recommend for any reason👍🏼
Fantastic visit to The Dungeons. Although it was Jubilee weekend and very busy, the group we were in was just the right amount of people. It was very dark, quite scary and all the actors were brilliant. The boat ride was closed for maintenance, but didnt detract from the enjoyment. We finished our visit with a delicious creepy cocktail in The Tavern👻
Nice experience, more suitable for children but we enjoyed it as well. You go through a few sets, each has its story, actor and scene. They tell crime stories from Londons history. Overall well played.Last part of the tour is going through a free fall experience going down 10 meters. To participate you need to be at least 1.4 meter tall.
The adults and children had a blast. The actors/actresses obviously love their craft and were brilliant. The japes at the guests and involving them was hilarious.Sadly the boat was unavailable but we had fun on the dead man’s drop and the resulting photos were hysterical.Cannot recommended enough
Fantastic experience but if you suffer from anxiety this experience could be difficult for you.The performance from the actors was fantastic, a great hour that takes you through the morbid history of London via different rooms with various actors that play out scenes and interact with the audience. The thing to note is that there is a possibility you will get picked on and brought out in front of everyone to participate by being put in a cage, put in a torture chair, etc... Its all quite light hearted really but there was one person on our tour that I could see was extremely uncomfortable. Its hard to know where to stand in each room to avoid being picked on as the performers seem to choose at random. All in all its a great experience but best to be aware if you get stressed easily.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!Had an amazing time (for adults and kids)Very interactive as well as educational.Definitely gets your heart going in some rooms but all in all very fun.Unfortunately the boat ride wasn’t going on the day we went but we still got to go on the drop which is good fun and leads to some funny looking photos 🤣Brought our tickets as a deal with the London Eye both very close together and would recommended the package for a good day out
What a great experience! The actors/actresses were brilliant and the boat ride and dead drop are a great addition 👌. I took my kids for their first time and they want to go back ASAP lol. Had a brilliant time and will definitely be going back... the kids told me I dont have a choice on it lol. Highly recommended
A great attraction for the entire family, wouldnt bring kids under the age of 10 as there is a few parts that could be scary for them. Brilliant atmosphere. Boat ride was full of suspense and in the darkness which was so fun, and the drop ride was good too! The pub at the end was quirky and fun to stop and have a drink in. Would definitely recommend.
Had a blast doing The London Dungeon with fearsome facts and grusome tales where 1000 years of Londons most horrible history is brought back to life! Not for the faint hearted. Most enjoyed getting "lost" in the mirror maze! Feel your way into the darkness as you try to escape the twists and turns of the underground labyrinth.
Really good and exciting experience. To be honest it is much better than I expected. Me and my wife loved the interactions and the actors were very realistic and performed their roles outstandingly! The whole experience was about an hour or so long and you are able to purchase pictures taken during the experience and a chance to buy London Dungeon souvenirs. We went during the half term so expectingly so it was busy, but it did not hamper the experience! I do definitely recommend to everyone of all ages! Just beware to anyone of nervous disposition that there is some light scares and thrills.
Came from America and this was top on our list of things to do! I loved learning about the history of London’s dark past in an interactive way! The cast is excellent! 10/10 recommend
Today we visited the London Dungeons, in my opinion this is the best attraction in London. You take a trip back in time through some of Londons darkest periods like the black plague, great fire of London and jack the ripper to mention a few.The actors inside the attraction are fantastic and never break character. The attraction is creepy, funny & exciting. Give the dungeons a visit you wont be disappointed.
Too many people in one group shoving and pushing trying to get into the next room while lighting was very low in our group. No pictures could be taken inside during attraction. Definitely need to book in advance since shows are at certain times.
We had a great time at the London Dungeons, highly recommended. The actors were brilliant, both spooky and comical! Two rides there, one is height restricted. Little gift shop at the end with a bar.
Excellent attraction you need to book in advance. Small acted out snippets of the grimier side of London history very audience interactive. I have to say the quality of acting is a high standard. My favorite part was Sweeney Todd whoever was playing Mrs Lovett had an amazing intensity. A pity two of the attractions were not working but didnt really spoil it at all still over an hour and a half long. Gift shop was not over priced and sold good quality items. There is a bar incorporated at the end of the shop would recommend.
