70 Rue Julien Lacroix, 75020 Paris, France, Châtillon
Located in the Belleville neighborhood and a 3-minute walk from Parc de Belleville, this adults-only hostel on a side street in the 20th arr. is also 2.3 km from Gare de l'Est RER station and 4 km from the Louvre museum.Colorfully decorated accommodations consist of private rooms and 4- to 8-bed dorms (mixed and same gender). All feature free Wi-Fi, lockers, and en suite bathrooms. Some have flat-screen TVs and/or private balconies.Complimentary breakfast is provided. Other amenities include a guest-use kitchen, a bar and outdoor seating.
This hostel does not exist anymore, they have rented out to someone else. We booked it from hostelworld.com and at the place they told us it does not exist anymore. We had to find another accommodation on the game night and it costed us quite some money. Thats the Worst thing can happen to anyone. Never ever book this hostel from any site.
This place is okay if you’re looking for somewhere to sleep and basically nothing else. It’s definitely not a social hostel. One particular staff member made everyone feel unwelcome and made up lies to avoid doing what was needed as far as basic maintenance and getting the showers to work. I only booked this place last minute. Found some cool people but this was not a good hostel experience. It was pretty clean though.
We had a really great stay here. The kitchen was clean. The interior decoration was really cool and made the place feel more expensive than it was. The rooms were pretty nice. Its situated very close to shops like Carrefour (the grocery storewhich is perfect for buying ingredients and cooking in the kitchen. Its also close to public transport and didnt take us long to get to all the attractions. The highlight for us was there was a black cat roaming around who was very friendly. Each room had its own bathroom which was a lot nicer than sharing a communal bathroom. Overall the place was very clean, chic and we had a good stay.
This is a budget hotel. Clean and neat customer care is good . Check out 24 hours . Kitchen is small but ok. Rooms are basic but good.
Nice hostel in the Belleville area of Paris. The staff is very polite and is a quiet place. Breakfast is complete: eggs, fresh milk, coffe, tea, butter, jam, bread, yougurt, orange juice Etc.
Avoid this place. the staff is a joke and very unfriendly. the rules of this hostel are very strange. No smoking area even though they have a patio. if you rent a towel, they give you a ridiculous piece of paper, 5 euros of deposit but if you loose that paper you dont get your money back even though you bring the towel back... what a joke!!! you can tell there is a very bad management and organisation.
The dormitory room is small, no towels and the room is still cold even though you turn on the room warmer. Also, the hot water was not working in one of the morning and unfortunately they didnt have a technician to fix it right away. Think again to stay here if you are coming in the cold season. However, the receptionist were informative and friendly.
Not so happy with the hostel. Two times i asked to repair the lock in the bathroom of our dorm, they didnt do it. We had to pay extra for towels, ridiculous. We were not allowed to take tea; first we had to pay 5,50 for the breakfast. The bed is very noisy, when my neighbour moved, i woke up. The staff is friendly and the location is great.
Very decent hostel that was cheaper than others in the area. Mattress was a little soft in the middle but tolerable. Clean, good bathroom; good location; friendly staff. There are a lot of stairs, so its best not to bring large bags. They had the heat way too high for October, but we were able to change the setting.
Clean and perfect location if you dont want to be with all tourists close to everything . Up and comming area . Great bedroom for couple . Great thai restaurant down the block and wine store less then a block away . Metro close by also
Bit pricey, but I went in a touristic season, so it figures. The hostel was super clean and modern and the staff was really nice! (Breakfast isnt worth the money though, if you ask me. I bought my own food anyway.)
The lost hostel.I end my choice based on several positive comments, but I think it was not a good deal. I can summarize that the place is really a hostel and nothing more. I do not advise. I was even asked if there was cheese for breakfast but I was told that it is not common to have cheese, ham or something in this type of accommodation. The reception guy was not pleasant at my observation and even mocked me by telling my American colleague about it. I also thought it wrong for them to give toilet paper instead of napkins for breakfast. The internet of this accommodation is bad to horrible you can do almost nothing in the room or reception is just too bad.
Nice, warm, tidy hostel. Nice personal. But from outside, the hostel name and street looks not nice. I was confused.. like: where I came? How it gonna look inside?.. But inside realy nice :And very Thank you for that womam who accept me and my daughter.. i didnt read rules before booking.
Great hostel. Felt very clean. Bathrooms and beds are in great order. Short enough walk to transit. Always felt out of the way of where we were or where we were trying to get to. Id say that was Paris though.Breakfast was the only down side. Leave a little earlier and go find a bakery and get some good bites and a nice espresso on your way. If you in a pinch though it is reasonable.Wifi could be slow I wouldnt try using it for anything like work.
Really nice hostel in Paris for backpacker. Metro station is very near to the hostel. Hostel is very clean and nice and staff is really helpful. I liked my stay over there, bathroom was very clean and nice. Location is also not bad, lot of restaurant is nearby. Its really nice place to stay and its in budget as well
Owners are partner in crime with robbers! When i was just arrived, one person that already was inside the hostel enters in the room with me stealing my pocket. The staff did not collaborate at all. Since i was just arrived, i decided to pass the rest of the days elsewhere for safety reasons. They refund me only the city tax blaming me to let him enter in the room but he was actually ALREADY inside the hostel. Thats a shame.
Upon arrival I questioned kindly about 2 charges on my card: one from hostel world (clearly stated on the websiteand another charge by The Loft. The woman at the reception told me its normal, that Hostel World charges a commission and that the hostel charges for the first night as a pre authorisation which to me doesnt make any sense at the time. So at this stage I speak to hostel world who tells me I should not have two charges and told me to email customer service. Since I have all my details in hand I go to the reception again to try to clarify what is going on as at this stage I have overpaid 35€ and the receptionist keeps saying the same thing like a broken record, without being clear or answering my question, until I ask if this "pre-authorisation" (as if I work in banks and should know the terminology and how pre-authorisation worksis actually going to be bounced back to my account. The receptionist confirms that yes, tonight her colleague will do this to all the bookings and the money of the "pre-authorisation" will show up on my account. When I questioned why she didnt explained this to me in the first place she replied very aggressively "because you didnt ask me". And this encounter with this lady is what mainly makes me give this hostel one star.Furthermore:my bed has no light or power socket (all others do), something that is basic in any hostel. I have to use the socket that belongs to the person in the bunk bellow. The wifi is painfully slow.Tiny seems to be the theme: common area, locks, rooms, kitchen.I was charged a "city tax" on top of the remaining value. Stayed in many hostels in Paris before and never had that, most likely because they include in the booking already so there are no surprises upon arrival.
Id stayed here a few years back in Paris and finally got around to writing a review after going through my old photos. Lovely place to stay, had a pretty good rest and the heating was satisfactory. the area was also convenient as it was near the metro and they had a cat! Im not sure if the cat was still there but hopefully it is cause it was a beauty.
Poor atmosphere for solo travellers. Lots of groups and families. Super noisy. Staff do not interact with guests, and only 1 is on site behind the desk. Kitchen is the only "common area" with a few small tables. Some staff were really insincere and didnt care about you. More like a hotel vibe with cheap beds. I would not recommend or stay here again. Check out 3 ducks if you want a good time and good breakfast. They are also family friend but provide the best of both worlds
Really great hostel. It is close to a street with plenty of food and bars, there is also a market down the hill some days. The place is very clean with and the beds are comfortable. The kitchen/common area are a bit too small but it all works well. The cat might try to eat your food.
It is good hostel. I stay in 8 beds dorms. it is not too far from Metro. The cleanliness is good. 24h reception helps you. have kitchen, fridge, stove, but not much free food. Better prepare your ingredient. There is common area in the kitchen but not facilitate socializing if you look for that. Fine for me though. The area is in the eat and drink area. So if it is not too late, it is still safe until all the shop is close.
Really nice hostel. Older crowd when we went. Had a deluxe room with towels and shower gel included. Feather beds so nice to sleep on. Quiet placd so you xan actually sleep. Close to the metro. Vibrant community atmosphere jyst upmthe street. Being .50 eu if you need you lock up your stuff though
It is an ideal hostel if you are looking for a place away from the area (and pricesdowntown. It is in Belleville, a living area with cafes, parks and restaurants. Taking a walk you can easily reach the area of the Canal Saint-Martin and its surroundings. If you travel with few friends or couples there are rooms for four people with ensuite bathroom adn lockers. Very adequate quality-price.There is a kitchen available for guests and a luggage storage service.Clean sheets and Wifi available. Towels require a small additional fee.
Very nice and affordable hostel. The staff is very friendly. At times there are something missing in the room but you can always ask them for it. If Im going to Paris with friends, this is definitely the place to stay.
A great modern dormitory with a very friendly professional staff. Unlike, many forms their bathrooms are for each room. So, you would share with four or six..... They are so flexible and quick.
One of the cleanest hostels Ive ever stayed in! My room had only 3 other beds and a large, new private bathroom inside the room! Amazing considering I chose the cheapest option for 1 night. The communal areas are great- one is an enclosed patio and the other is a kitchen/dining area. Both spacious. The resident kitty is adorable. They have an awesome amount of resources too!
Fantastic hostel. The staff are friendly and everything looks amazingly clean. Its a little far from most of the main sites, but its close to two metro lines.
This place was pretty good to stay 3 nights in Paris! Clean sheets upon arrival and the staff was very friendly. The bathroom is sink, toilet, and shower in one so one person could deny access to all facilities in the morning. Rooms were smaller. People in my room were nice and easy to make conversation with! I would stay here again. Location is not too bad. Try mega kabab just up the street if you stay!
Located near Bellville park. I was in a dorm with 3 other people all looked nice, lockers included and free wifi. You have to pay extra for breakfast. They also sell alcohol of all sorts at the reception. Smoking patio. Kitchen with a chill area or sorts. Very helpful and nice staff and overall chill athmosphere. Price could be a few euros lower.
Rooms, showers, and toilets were very clean, as was the kitchen. We stayed in an 8 person room, which was actually two four person rooms. Weaid for the breakfast everyday which was smaller than expected but good and ready everyday as advertised. The kitchen was small and not well equipped for groups or lots of people cooking at once, which is my biggest complaint. Also, youre not permitted to bring in outside alcohol, and must purchase it from the front desk. Good news is that its a decent price during happy hour every night.
Stayed here twice, and I would for sure stay again! The accommodations are in good shape, the staff are friendly and the breakfast is also nice for the price. A nice tip is to book via the hostel website, it is cheaper than via Booking or similar websites.
Fantastic little hostel located in Belleville. Very helpful and friendly staff. Cost effective for someone having a short stay. Easily accessible and has a lot of good places around it such as bars and restaurants. They have some or the other event in the evening everyday. Clean rooms with all basic amenities.
The place is noisy because of various factors but mostly the staff who do not enforce a strict quiet after a certain hour policy in the communal outside area facing the rooms. The doors of the street level.room.open.up on a patio, which makes me think winter nights would offer a nice breeze of cold air to guests occupying the lower bunk beds bear the doors...and regret visiting Paris in winter.
Lovely place, lovely staff, lovely cat. Anyway people doesnt have to forget that they are at a hostel (and not at a 5 star hotel). If they do so, theyll be feeling fine like i have. Ill try to come back again.
Good atmosphere and good staff. I cant complain about the price as it was reasonable but the rooms are a bit cramped and make sure to bring earplugs as the beds squeak quite loudly whenever you move!
Beds in 4 person dorm were comfortable. Clean sheet and blanket provided. Towel rental service provided. Wi-Fi was stable and fast for the most part. Small but clean bathroom.
Great hostel. Stayed in 3 different rooms during my stay here as I kept extending my stay. 4 nights in a 4 bed ensuite and the final 3 in two different 5 bed ensuite sPros:Clean (rooms cleaned everyday), showers are nice, felt secure, good courtyard area where I was allowed to store my bike, staff were very helpful and spoke more than one language and all I met spoke very good English, luggage area where you can store your things for free when you arrive if your room isnt ready and after you check out. Seen complaints about noise from the courtyard and this can be the case sometimes however its nothing too extreme in my opinion and its going to very much depend on whos at the hostel at the time.Very good value for money.Cons:Not a very large indoor social space despite there being a bar. However its quite easy to meet other travellers in your room or if you make a little effort to speak to people in the courtyard. Quite far away from the centre of the city and a lot of the attractions. You can walk it if you enjoy walking and want to explore the city but it probably wouldnt be something youd want to do everyday and its a fine distance by bike. On the other hand there is a metro station nearby if you prefer.Other things worth noting.Breakfast is €3.50 and finishes at 9:30am, the kitchen also closes after this point for a while for cleaning so bear this in mind if you are a bit of a late riser and want to prepare your own breakfast. Breakfast consists of a croissant, some bread, a bowl of cereal, a pot of jam and some butter and a cup of coffee. It isnt terrible value but you might be better off spending that €3 50 in the supermarket and buying an entire baguette, a whole jar of jam and probably a couple of croissants to go with it.The lockers were also a little on the small side so only really for valuables. No outside alcohol is allowed to be consumed on the prememsis, make of this what you will. There is a laundry room available however I did not use it so cant comment on the price.Overall a good experience and one of the better hostels Ive stayed at.
I have stayed in the Loft Hostel for a few times. The staff is super friendly and always there to help you with anything. It is located in Belleville which is a very multicultural neighborhood, which is a good thing in my opinion. There is a grocery store and metro station within a 5 minutes walking distance. The breakfast is okay, dont expect to much from it. So far I have stayed in the Deluxe 4 Mixed Ensuite and the Deluxe twin ensuite, both clean and spacious for being in Paris.
Great hostel with good service, events and happy hours, clean rooms and a cute little courtyard. Also - situated in Belleville!! Very interesting vibes with lots of fusion of culture, street art and the view of Eiffel from various points in the hood
Great place to stay. Stopped by for a couple of nights on a Topdeck Tour. Great atmosphere. Helpful staff. Rooms are great. Not a huge fan of the area its in but close to public transport. Not a very great selection of food in the area so would recommend eating elsewhere
Nice guests, they help as much as possible in anything you need. Its a little far away from main attractions but there is a book at reception with all transport tips, so distance its not a problem at all. It also has tips to enjoy the city.
Its pretty nice and cute hostel. I spent only one night there and i come after midnight and left before 7 am… but it was noisy in a yard, so we were not able to open window. And in room was veeeery hot. Nice stuff, and not bad rooms(i have bed in 4-bed female room). I would stay here again
This place was perfect. Its very clean and the staff are friendly. Adequate wifi, clean beds. Dont get their $3.50 breakfast, venture out in Paris have yourself a good croissant, not the stale stuff they offer here. The location was great as well, just a few minutes walk from the nearest metro and about 40mins subway from the tourist attractions like the Eiffel Tower and the arc de triomphe.
Its nice for a hostel. Clean and You get your basic necessities of a hostel... Breakfast wasnt really much but The staff and environment is nice. Oh and The Wi-Fi really sucked.
Very good hostel to stay, however the breakfast was not up to scratch, considering it was not free. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the location is decent. Rooms are clean and beds are comfortable, bathrooms are clean too. A good hostel to stay at.
They make you write down all your credit card details and give it to them, doesnt seem too trustworthy. Ive never seen this anywhere else, hostel/hôtel or otherwise. Other than that its a nice hostel.
Rooms are nice and clean, shower is also good. Only small lockers to keep your stuff (wouldnt fit a med bag). Wifi is super slow to the point of being unusable.
Hostel is clean, bright color, and has a funky design, but has MANY issues. The girl at reception was helpful but very cold towards our group. We paid for a 6 beds, but only had 5 people. We were strictly told not to touch the unused bed even though we had paid for it. There was no wireless in our room at all, which was unacceptable for the price we had paid. The en-suite shower only lasted 20secs at a time. This was very annoying while showering. Your not aloud to have food or drink in your room, which made me feel uncomfortable. The breakfast which is included only has two choices bread or cereal. I am gluten free and having no options like fruit-meat-veggies-cheese was unacceptable. The rules state 18+ only, but two children had checked into the hostel with their parents. I am comfortable with this concept, but my friends were disturbed by children staying at the Hostel. Especially since they were unattended watching tv common area.Pros-*You can keep your luggage in the luggage room for free after you have checked out* The male at reception was sincere friendly and helpful, he cared about what we thought and felt. He told us the plans to change things in the future ( willingness to change and improve )* A book with suggestions for restaurants-drinks-sight seeing
I simply loved. Although the bathroom is small, and towels are for rent, the rooms are very clean, and well decored, plus lets remember Paris is an expensive destination The Loft do give a pretty fair price. If I ever go back I will for sure stay here again.
Clean, modern hostel with ensuites in each dorm. Well located in an interesting part of Paris away from the tourist hordes. Rooms include free breakfast and wifi, although the wifi can get slow when its being hammered. Happy hour from 7-8.
