The John Simons Flora and Fauna Park was an interesting walk and the Scuptures were unique and we could determine some of their meanings.

The flora walk was really spectacular after all the recent rains. The statues were of such poor quality they should be removed. The view around the surrounding country was good.

Beautiful place to come and visit especially during the golden hour and sunsets are stunning. You can camp nearby too and get some fantastic night sky photography. Definitely check out the whole park as well as the statues as there are some great walks

At sunset, this is beautiful, even when the winds are cutting! Really interesting sculptures. Feels quite spiritual! Dont miss it if youre in Broken Hill, its a short drive & well worth it. Highly recommended.

A stunning and must-see point of interest when in Broken Hill, especially around sunrise and sunset. The sculptures are a short walk from the carpark up a hill and contain some really interesting rock sculptures that are shaped and decorated. Some fantastic photo opportunities, and lots of visitors go to watch the sunset over the horizon from the top of sculpture area. A few walks to do within too, in addition to aboriginal heritage information and artefacts.

This place is absolutely spectacular! This is a must do! The living desert section is a walking trail taking you through an arrangement of desert plants and up to a lookout, this is not wheelchair friendly at all.The sculpture hill can either be walked from the living desert carpark or driven to separately and is wheelchair friendly 🥳These sculptures were made by a series of artist and carved into the sandstone pillars.Entry to the park is by car and a self service ticket booth will greet you at the entrance. It is just a short drive north out of Broken Hill, entry is $6.00 per adult.“Jonique Life”Follow our journey around Australia on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube as we highlight wonderful experiences and magical places you can add to your ever growing bucket list.

Good walk. Sculptures are a bit touristy. Some ancient rock carvings. That’s worth looking at. Some areas closed off so couldn’t see more.

On our road trip we went here to see the desert sculptures. It is a nice drive into the park. You pay at the huts located on your way into the park. There was plenty of parking and it was a short walk to the sculptures. It can all be taken in with a nice walk around the sculptures in about 45 minutes. It closes at sunset all year round. There is a nice flora walking track nearby too.

Mediocre rock sculptures, the vast majority being made by interstate or overseas artists....Theres an enclosed area showcasing desert flora and fauna...its no different to the flora and fauna surrounding the "park".Theres a "small" admission fee payable. So if youre into seeing "art" by overseas/interstate artistand youre happy pay to see flora and fauna that youve already seen driving there then have fun! Take lots of insect spray and water.

A must see when in Broken Hill. Safe for camper and and plenty of parking. The sunsets are incredible!! But the view any time of day is worth the drive and park entrance fee. Unfortunately dogs are not allowed in the park.

Cathartic experience. One of two sites occupied out of 15. Nice and secure. No noise. No light pollution. Great facilities for what it is. Flush toilets, hot showers. Loved it.

We sent at sunset with apparently all the other tourists in Broken Hill! Very busy but everyone did their best to maintain social distancing. If coming at sunset leave enough time to pay for tickets before driving up - its $6 a person and some people were having a huge amount of difficulty operating the pay machine do the wait to get in can be very long. Signage explains the motivation behind each stone sculpture and the hill has a great view both over the desert plains and over Broken Hill itself. The gates close approx 30 minutes after sunset, but be careful on the way out as people may still be coming in and the road is narrow! Theres also lots of kangaroos out and about.

It costs $6 per adult to enter the park. You can get tickets at the vending machine at the entrance. Its about 10 minutes from Broken Hill. Definitely worth a look. Sunset is a popular time. Great views and photos. There was a lot of flies there when we visited though.

A must see activity in Broken Hill. The story of the sculptures is fascinating. The sculptures themselves range from stunning to incomprehensible, but it is amazing to find them in such a unique location. Access is easy and the best time to visit is either early morning or just before sunset when the sunlight gives magnificent red and yellow hues to the sandstone of the sculptures.

Spectacular in every way. We made our visit leading up to sunset, set up a table of nibbles and drinks, with a few chairs and took in the magnificent sculptures and scenery in style. A must see!

Its really worth a visit if you are around especially close to sunset. Views are amazing and you can take breathtaking panoramic pics from up there. Beware of drivers who would not give a way on a narrow steep road but most are polite. Closes at 8pm not 6pm as stated on their Google site and gates are broken so entry is free. Definitely a recommended To-do.

Stunning sculpture park just outside Broken Hill. The sculptures are situated at the top of a hill with stunning panoramic views back to Broken Hill and the endless desert. Even though there’s no much shade, the breeze is cooling. There’s about 10 sculptures made from artists across the world, each telling their own story. Definitely worth the trip for the sculptures but also for the views! Entry is $6 per person.

Amazing walk around the top of a hill with magnificent views of the surrounding area. Some very interesting sculptures and stories behind them too. There is a steep walk up from the lower carpark or you can park at the top with plenty of room for vans and campers.

What a great little attraction on top of a hill with a great view. You do have to pay an entry fee though $6 p/p. Worth a look at the sculptures and the view and not far out of town. There are 12 sculptures here.

Fantastic place, didn’t know it was there. I’m into free camping, or minimal cost camping. Was concerned about finding the right place to camp, especially in Broken Hill, in light of the terrain in the area. Only option appeared to be, at the race track. Good news was that that campsite was closed for another couple of weeks, so headed back to the tourist information centre for a bit of help. They suggested the “Starview Primitive Campsite". I immediately booked three nights, soon after which I later added another two nights. The word primitive, was a bit of a worry. Cost of the site is $10 per head, plus a one off payment of $6 for entry into the Sculptures, for as long as your camped at the site. This is a fantastic place and is only 12 months old. In addition to the sculptures, there’s the living desert sanctuary. You can partake in one or several walks within the sanctuary, including a nice hike to the top of the hill to view the sculptures, and have a fantastic view back towards Broken Hill. Information on wildlife, plants and the aboriginal culture is provided as you conduct your walk. If your like me you can just drive up to the sculptures and the view. Now the campsite, primitive? Far from it with flush toilets and hot showers. There’s room for about 10 vans and 6 sites for camping. Not big, but a very lovely spot. Worried about security, forget it. The gate closes around 8.30pm and the only access is via a PIN number which opens the gate. A very safe place to camp. Note, the site is 9ks from town and there are no powered sites.Broken Hills best kept secret.

The Living Desert, not far from Broken Hill, with its unusual sculptures is worth a visit at any time, but especially just before sunset. Although the sculptures are starting to look a little worn, probably because they’re made out of sandstone and stand in a rather windy location, these sculptured lumps of rock art impressive. The living desert is much like the whole area surrounding Broken Hill. Certainly one of the best places to photograph the sunset but don’t expect to be alone, three coaches turned up the night we were there.

Interesting sculptures. We were looking to kill some time so headed out to the living dessert for a look. Spent about an hour there but you could spend longer if you wanted. Some great photo opportunities and a nice spot for a walk along the historic trails.

Interesting sculptures - great to go a little later in the day as there is a huge swarm of flies there. The sunset there is not as great as the Mundi Mundi lookout, but is enjoyable.

Go in the early morning or late afternoon to avoid the heat. Theres a 15 mins walk up to the sculptures or a zippy drive. If youre able to do the walk its worth it. The path zigzag zags around and up the hills providing beautiful views of the surrounding countryside.
