Worker-owned cafe with casual, mostly vegetarian meals & breakfast in cozy, whimsical surrounds.
Love LGC but they have a sign on the door that they are temporarily closed so just make sure to call in advance to double check!
Amazing vegan and vegetarian AND “normal” food! Such a great breakfast spot
I had the toad in the hole with veggie chili, and it was amazing! Very cool and inviting atmosphere, and all of the staff were awesome.
Service was amazing, food was outstanding 👌 We will definitely be back when in the area!
I have to go every time I am in Harrisonburg. Support a great cause AND eat some of the farm-to-table house made goodness. Enjoy!
This place is fabulous! Friendly servers, wonderfully fresh food, lots of healthy options, and buckwheat pancakes. Highly recommend.
Very nice place with locally sourced foods and worker owned. Good options for my vegan family. Really good omelet for me.
Wonderful local restaurant. Good menu with plenty of breakfast and brunch choices.
Great place to stop on a tired drive home from backpacking. Refreshing bottled kombucha, nicely crisped/seasoned potatoes, and a big, hearty chicken burrito. Cool, friendly people working there, too.
In one word: FABULOUS!! The food is so fresh and delicious. There are plenty of GF (gluten freeoptions as well and vegetarian. The workers/owners (they’re a co-op!are welcoming and attentive. The place is spacious and clean. This was an excellent choice for breakfast. The only bummer is that they are not closer to Massachusetts where I live :)
Breakfast was fine—it was the service that kind of rubbed me the wrong way. I ordered the eggs & meat plate w/ a side and got everything but the meat (bacon). When I asked our server, she acted like it was my mistake in ordering. In the end, she brought out the bacon but I left feeling a bit gaslighted. Probably won’t come back again.
I see all this garbage about going other places and theyre all corporate owned. This is an employee owned establishment, and they go above and beyond to pander to all parties. Long wait, give them a break, go some where else and have a gluten free brunch (not going to happen)... Good things come at a slight inconvenience...
A truly wonderful little cafe just a few minutes from the centre of town. We had the breakfast burrito, a veggie omelette, the Beth’s Favourite (with tofu instead of eggs), and the Dooley. Everything was absolutely amazing. The groovy gravy is a real treat! Wonderful service and atmosphere also.
Delicious gluten free offerings. Free range eggs and seasonal veggies cooked just right in Beth’s scramble. Friendly service
Amazing breakfast at The Little Grill this morning (2/25). My husband had the veggie omelette with vegetarian chili and I had the Hungry Mother Bowl. Food was hot and so delicious! Can’t beat the service, either. A+ experience!
What a lovely place! The food has a huge comfort feel without leaving me too icky to move about. The veggie chili and sausage patties are going to be something I order again tomorrow! It’s a bit chilly but considering the weather outside is 12° I can’t blame them. Staff was exceptionally nice and lovely to speak with.
The Little Grill Collective is a favorite restaurant to visit when we are in Harrisonburg. We visited in December of 2021 for the first time in almost 4 years. All of the food is still delicious. We always order the buckwheat pancakes because they are both gluten-free and vegan and they are filling and tasty. The décor is quirky and fun to look at while waiting for your order.
Seemed to be great. When I order my food the expectation was still good. When my meal came the scrambled egg was omelet style fried.. My expectation changed when I cut into it and the inside was burnt, totally uneatable....I ordered the sausage, grits, and latter toast. I left the burnt meal exposed and uneaten to show dissatisfaction. It was ignored. If this place was the only restaurant open in the city.. I WOULD PASS ON IT.Waitress provided free toast and a cookie. Her tip didnt affect the lack of cooking abilities of the attending chef.
Excellent atmosphere, delicious locally sourced food, and attentive service! Cheesy Grits were a perfect balance of flavors and the Cinnamon Swirl French Toast was just like mom made em. We felt genuinely welcomed at the table. Would highly recommend supporting this unique business that gives back to their community!
Fantastic food and friendly staff. Overall great experience.
AWESOMELY, Amazing experience! The Little Grill Collective was a top notch customer service affair!! Every Vegan dish was delicious! This will be my go to place when I visit the Massanutten Resort!!👍🏽👍🏽
One of Harrisonburgs best spots for brunch. Collectively owned and loved by tourists, students, and locals. Soulful take on North American foods & plenty of Gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan options. Would also recommend the ginger lemonade. Worth any wait time.
Love the breakfast burrito. Amazing staff and the space is so cute. One of my favorites in the area
Great food, atmosphere, and servers. Would recommend the Little Grill to any of my freinds. Cant wait to return!
What a wonderful find. This is a nice, clean and super friendly place to relax and eat. We had breakfast and they had several wonderful items on their menu.As a health care professional that emphasizes healthy foods, I was overwhelmed by their knowledge in preparing foods that are easy on your stomach if you have food sensitivities. The grill uses Early Balance SOY FREE margarine and canola oil is also used thus taking care of people with soy problems. That would be I. Their pancakes were homemade with wholesome ingredients. I tried their Vegan Oatmeal cookie which was delicious. They even took time to prepare their home fries properly(boiled and cut and quick fried in a soy free oil. They were the most delicious home fries I have ever eaten. They are also not heavy handed with their usage of salt, which is an epidemic nowadays. The most important point to make is that it is now 2 hours after eating breakfast, and my stomach is at peace and I feel well after eating.DON’T MISS THIS ONE!!!!
This is a super cute little restaurant in Harrisonburg. The service about 20 minutes or so during the lunch rush, but the food was pretty tasty! The atmopshere feels very very local, like a small town kinda thing.
Adorable, delicious little restaurant. I was captivates immediately by the bacon and eggs stained glass window above the door. The staff is beyond amazing.
This place is super yummy and the staff is so sweet. I got the bowl with tofu and veggies and everything was so fresh and filling and delicious! Boyfriend got the chicken burrito and it was also great. I am hoping to come back for breakfast one day if we are in the area again!
A breakfast paradise! We were so impressed with their vegan tofu scramble! I could eat it every day! Great options for the two vegan/vegetarian adults and our omnivorous kids! We tried the buttermilk pancakes, bacon, vegan scramble, veggie omelet, & home fries! Huge portions and delicious! We loved it and will definitely be back!
Outstanding food and service!! Fresh ingredients, well prepared, seasoned to perfection and reasonably priced. We had the veggie omelet, home fries and orange/cranberry scone. All delish but the scone was heavenly. Enjoy this little gem.
Where to begin is a GREAT question. I will start from the moment we entered the establishment and felt an immediate chilled and at peace vibe. We were added to the waiting list which sends you a text that you can check your location in the line. That was too cool and I assume it eliminates the "hey, I just want to check" as you are NOT forgotten. Kudos to the person that decided to use that system. Yes, you might have to wait just a little to get a seat BUT it is worth it due to seating capacity for the many wonderful guests that frequent the establishment. Now to the food!!!!!! We are plant-based and they had a great selection for us as well. My wife ordered the Tofu Scramble and loved it. The waitress mentioned the Buckwheat pancakes as a great choice for me. I asked the size and how many I should have. She mentioned two was in the stack. She was spot on about the size and even mentioned the chocolate chips which were dairy free (what was not to love?????). I added some blackberry jam that rocked!!!!!! I have not had buckwheat pancakes in ages and all I can say is that these are the BEST I have ever had. Holy moly were they good and even my wife had a few bites (it rings true, what is hers is hers and what is mine can be tasted by her as well). I hope that you get the idea that this place is legit from the service to the food. If you have not been there yet, what are you waiting for????? If you enjoy this place, it stands to reason why because at the time of me writing this review their were over 670 reviews. Five stars and two thumbs up all the way!!!!!!!
Really eclectic and cute little diner with some very delicious vegetarian and gluten free options. I tried the potato pesto dish and my spouse tried the huevos rancheros. They were both exceptionally delicious and filling.Great service and price for the meal. Would definitely like to try more of their dishes if we every come back this direction.
Amazing service, great food cooked fresh from local ingredients, good price. Make sure to park on the street and not in the adjacent tire shop lot as they will tow you.
A short detour for us to enjoy great place with awesome food, not to mention a local business that is doing it right: using local ingredients, all compostable packaging, vegan and vegetarian options. Highly recommended!
So cute! The food was delicious! I didnt know what to expect but the really nice server recommended the grits and they were amazing! I went with my son and he had the breakfast burrito and he loved it. Lots of vegetarian option. Unique flavors that go really well together. Cute and casual atmosphere. I plan on being a regular.
A great little place! The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is amazing! Everything they use is from local businesses. My potato boat was delicious!!!
Excellent food and service! One of the most flavorful breakfasts we’ve had. Small place with a warm cozy feel, family friendly. Staff is so considerate! Example; an older woman came in and obviously had fallen into hard times, they didn’t treat her any less courteous or attentive. Very very impressed by this. Will definitely come back anytime we’re in town. Facts that also make this a great place, it’s employee owned and they make public the amount of products that are locally sourced. Truly farm to table, Love it!!! Don’t let the area or outside appearance fool you... we almost left when we first arrived. SO glad we gave them a shot, our entire family LOVED IT!!!
I cant begin to explain the amazing experience I had at the Little Collective. Everything was amazing! And the fact that the owner was out on the floor with her staff is just Awesome! Everything was fresh and local! So much so that I went to have breakfast multiple days the week I was in Harrisonburg. Definitely a recommended location.
Best breakfast place in Harrisonburg hands down! Im not vegetarian and I love the food. They have local bacon and eggs with blueberry buckwheat pancakes to die for. Ask for the veggie hash with an egg on top, delicious!
This place is a little hole in the wall place. It is located right next to an automotive repair business so looks are not the best around the area next to it. The building is a bit old as well. Inside isn’t the newest but looks can be deceiving. It was fast service to be seated. The place isn’t super big but it was big enough I think because the parking is hard to come by to be able to eat here. We noticed some people come in and get food to go.Service was good. She brought everything we asked for. She was helpful with questions about the menu as well. Average response time for bringing extra butter, syrup, etc. My water never got refilled though and we were there for over 45 minutes sitting down. The menu was quite interesting.I got the buttermilk pancakes which I thought were a little dry. They were good but not my favorite. I would prefer IHOP pancakes over these. The restaurant or waitress seemed to be a bit skimpy on the butter. They only brought me enough butter to barely fit on one of the pancakes. I got the short stack so it was 2 pancakes. I wouldn’t order the pancakes again. They weren’t as fluffy as I like them.I got the whole wheat biscuit to try out and it was good for a wheat biscuit. One of my breakfast guests got the burrito bowl. It was good. He said he would order it again. The lemon poppy seed pancakes were really good. My friend said she would order it again. The bacon was good but nothing special. The sourdough French toast was good my friend said. He would get it again. He ate it all.The home fries were fried chunks of potatoes. They were good and crispy but nothing special. The ketchup on the table that I used to dip the potatoes in tasted homemade and we are pretty sure it was homemade.Prices were not bad. About average for breakfast.I seemed to be the oddball out at this restaurant since the other 3 people I was with preferred this place over Thunderbird Café that we went to the other day and I preferred their food. The 4 stars are from my breakfast companions.
Quaint spot in a quirky location - worth the time and parking issues. The Hungry Mother bowl was amazing and yummy. Many other options on the menu that I will come back and try!
Fantastic, tasty food at a good price. All locally sourced. Great service. A very down-to-earth, community feel.
Awesome food as always! Great local restaurant that serves fresh and locally sourced food. Vegan and vegetarian items are staples. We ate there the other day. This is the potato boat with a fried egg added and a side of groovy gravy to go on top. Delicious!
Went with my vegan friend and loved loved loved the place! We had the vegan biscuits and gravy and the pumpkin spice pancakes. Great coffee and multiple alternatives for vegans, vegetarians and gluten free. Quirky little place and lovely friendly staff. So sad we live hr and a half away.
This is easily the best restaurant around! They always satisfy with flavorful, healthy, local dishes. It’s very vegetarian friendly, but meat eaters are always happy here too. I love introducing this place to friends and family, because I know they’ll always deliver.LGC is cute and cozy. It’s worth the wait, if there is one. The menu is continually updated and is shaped around seasonal goods, which make the food even more comforting. The coffee is the best in town too! You absolutely need to have breakfast here, but try it for lunch too!
This is a great allergy friendly restaurant for breakfast. I would have given it 5 stars if the service and standards were a little higher. They charge per ounce for real maple syrup and it is difficult to know how much you need. They should just raise the price of the meal and charge a flat rate. Also I ordered vegan pancakes and they didnt come with vegan butter. I asked later bit was halfway done and they were quite bitter and dry. The server said they offer it but only if you ask because it is more expensive. This is crazy to me- I am not eating out on a budget as most people dont. We eat out to splurge and have great tasting food served and cleaned up for us. The cost is not an issue so they need to know their audience better and offer these things up front.
Great little restaurant. Was well worth the 25 minute wait. The best breakfast out Ive had in a long time. Great service, great food, good prices. Will stop here again when I pass thru.
Awesome place for breakfast! Omelette and breakfast burrito were delicious. Coffee was great, service was prompt and friendly. Locally sourced food with veggie options but also real eggs and breakfast meat available. Doesnt look like much from the outside but comfortable inside. Hope we can come back soon.
This is the BEST place to eat in Harrisonburg, VA. The Lemon Poppy Seed pancakes were out of this world delicious, add the homemade jam and the homemade maple syrup!!!! The vegan sausage and seasonal veggies!!!!
Awesome, inexpensive menu options. There are also a lot of meat-free options available. The food is great and the service is stellar for such a busy spot. Expect there to be a crowd if you’re going on a weekend for breakfast. Other than it being small in size, it’s one of the best local spots.
