The Klaserie Private Nature Reserve in Tzaneen

The road into Klaserie is posing a risk, Potholes are bad. But once driving inside it is like driving in the Kruger Park with a different flavour re veld.

The Klaserie Private Nature Reserve is a private concession that forms part of the Greater Kruger National Park and is located close to the town of Hoedspruit. To enter the Klaserie you need to stay at one of the lodges located within it. We stayed at the Xanatseni Private Camp (reviewed separatelywhich I can highly recommend. The park is large with a range of different biospheres and all the animals that can be found within the Kurger National Park can also be found here, so you are almost guaranteed of beautiful sightings. The staff at the entrance gate, Enkhulu, were very friendly and engaging and showed they take their job seriously regarding wildlife conservation.

My first safari and what a special place this is. Wonderful surroundings, rooms, staff, food. I cannot fault it and the wildlife is spectacular. Highly recommended.

Fantastic game drives. Just a little disappointing when the animal your tracking has wandered into a neighbouring property and you cant follow it.

The reserve was great. We were able to see four of the big five only missing on seeing a leopard. It’s an amazing place.

If you want to go to visit the Kruger, you definitely should go to Klaserie (which is a part of the Greater Kruger nature reserve). Here the African animals live in their own and are treated well and respectfully by guides, tourists and lodges.The wealth in fauna is amazing (compared to other zonesand you can see all kind of animals (not just the Big Five!here: elephants, giraffes, rhinos, wildebeests, zebras, buffaloes, lions... And even leopards or wild African dogs! Very diverse!! It was like being inside of the Lions King movie!

Really good camp. Its worth the high Price. We got a meal as we arrived before the first 3-4 hours Safari. The next morning another Safari and Bushwalk. We saw many different animals there. After Breakfast we leaved. Maybe one the is not enough there. It was just a little group with 6 persons.

Great location, however animal density is on the low side especially those lower down the food chain to ensure that there are plenty of animals higher up the food chain, no point introducing more lions if there arent any wildebeest for them to eat - great to see 2 packs of wild dogs, and there is a third pack who had moved on.

We stayed for 2 nights. its a dream in the middle of nature. Morning and evening we have made a safari. the service and the food are absolutely worth 5 stars. A place to forget the bad world

Best experience Ive ever had in the African bush.

This review is long over due, we stayed there in December 2017. What a wonderful place; the drive in alone was amazing. Our guide was fantastic, the food was great, and the rooms are spectacular. Loved doing the walking trek and hanging out with the hyenas.

Amazing wildlife. Perfect for a quite wildlife experience other than the Kruger

Whats not to love about Klaserie Sands? Much different terrain than I experienced in the Balule game reserve in 2016, but also a much larger swath of land. Nature will delight you here for sure!

Amazing place ! We saw a lot of animals, every ranger was working together so everyone had a chance to see animals caus they were passing on the tips. The hostels within are lovely especially ameni in which we stayed

I prefer Klaserie to Timbavati. Go to Nyeleti or Angelas Camp. Both a unique experience.

Fantastic nature reserve on the edge of the Kruger and an integral part of the open ecosystems, where the Big 5 and general game roam. It has amazing birdwatching opportunities as well.

Hospitality was great. Hosts were amazing, a animals were not used to humans as in southern parts of Kruger. Leopard on prowl, wild dogs in a hunt... Lots of rhinos.

Stayed at Africa on foot camp and saw the big 5 in 24 hours. Hosts were great. Guides were superb. Our first safari and we would love to go back to this camp again.

Been there at Gary Freemans Trails. Awesome, love it! We will go there again. Thank you Gary, it was magnificent.

Wonderful weekend in Angelias Camp. Big 5 on the first drive. Wild dogs very busy around the camp, bothering the elephant herd on Sunday. Lots of noise from the elephants.

Amazing atmosphere. Luxury and untouched nature combined with excellent taste.

This is the real Africa! Wild animals roam free and you can experience it without all the tourists that you find in the Kruger National Park.
