Panoramic mountain & city views at a castlelike eatery known for its rack of lamb & salmon.
I really enjoyed the food, I think its a little overpriced for what you get but I would definitely recommend coming and trying it out. The service was fantastic!
Hidden gem in the hills of Missoula. Drinks were original, very tasty, and reasonably priced. No too many vegetarian options on the menu. Halibut was cooked perfectly. A little on the spendy side but the view and ambiance make up for it.
Absolutely fantastic. Great food, drinks, and service! 10/10 recommend.
Enjoyed the fine dining experience. Very good food and service. The location is very scenic especially at sunset.
This is one of the best in Missoula! Amazing atmosphere & food. A little short staffed
Fantastic view of Missoula valley. Great service, pretty good menu selection. Prices surprisingly reasonable. Recommended
My husband and I enjoyed dinner with four friends. This was our first experience. Love the location and view overlooking Missoula. Our waiter Connor was attentive, and he took great care of our table of six. Wine was excellent, meals were good. This is not over the top haute cuisine. Nice experience. Well be back.
This place was a 10/10 my fiancé and I took a trip from California up to Missoula and I had made reservations here. We were incredibly impressed with everything this place had to offer. I proposed out front of the restaurant in the rain after an amazing meal.
Love this place but prices are outrageous now. Automatic 20% gratuity on parties 6+, in my experience generally that rule applies to 8+. The food is pretty good, the view and atmosphere is amazing, just come ready to pay for it.
Booked reservations for my 40th birthday. Of course the restaurant couldnt even give like a free soda. For someones birthday. Bill was $200 plus. Cant book outside or upstairs online. Not worth it for a yuppie restaurant. Wouldve had a better time going to the montana club. And get more food for less money. And they celebrate birthdays. 🍾Sounds like theyre getting cheaper and cheaper. Thanks for ruining my 40th. Overpriced. Cheap restaurant standards. Will not be going again. Also the salmon didnt taste anything fancy.
The service was great. Nothing negative to say about the people who work there. But the food is honestly not that good. The prices do not match the quality. Aside from that beautiful restaurant, nice ambiance good staff. Not very good food.
Very nice service, good food and a beautiful view if you can get a window seat.
First time to this restaurant. Its up the hill in a residential area.Great service and good food.It has a golf course so if you play golf, here you go.
Great food, but something as changed. My steak was under cooked, not hot, and tough on outside. Not pleased this time but will try again. Fantastic service
This is one out of two of the WORST steaks I have ever had the displeasure of ordering. I asked for a medium cooked steak and it was supper over priced and over cooked surved with instant mashed potatoes that was squeezed out a bad with cold over steemed bagged broccoli. Bland as could be and the worst part was the aggressive taste of the gass grill on the over cooked meat. I do not recommend .
We had a lovely experience at The Keep. The service was fantastic, the view was great, and we both loved our food. Great reasonably priced wine, as well. We’ll definitely be back!
First time here after hearing great things about it. Beautiful setting up on the hillside and does have castle feel. We had the Filet Mignon and the Lamb. Both excellent along with sides. Cooked perfectly and served at the proper temperature. Deserts were great also. Well be back.
A wonderful place to have dinner. The food is Awesome and the customer service is exceptional. We Love looking out the windows and viewing a gorgeous sunset or the city lights of Missoula below! A must recommendation!
Our experience was absolutely lovely at The Keep. Our waitress was incredible, always refilling our drinks and keeping us taken care of. She also made sure to inform us of the different dinning options that were available and gave us great tips on what we might enjoy. The food was quite incredible and the only reason I was upset that night was when I became full and couldnt enjoy more of the food! We were seated near the window facing out towards Missoula and the view of the sunset as we had dinner made the evening that much more grand of an occasion.
Ordered a to go order, excited to try the keep without having to get a babysitter. Ordered the baked Brie, clams in wine sauce, and the chicken marsala. Long story short, it seems the keep cares more about its view and dine in “experience” more than the food itself.Baked Brie- wasn’t the best Brie I’ve had, but the honey and nut topping was a nice touch, however it was also served with a measly 6 crackers - lost points there. The clams were tasty, but I was pretty bummed that bread, toast, crackers or anything like that was not included. Again for the impression of quality that the Keep boasts, I thought this was a mistake so I called to check and spoke with the manager “Jenn” who told me it’s “normal for takeout but not for dining in.” I’ve never been anywhere that doesn’t provide some bread for clams in wine sauce. According to Jen, I’m the first person that’s ever been surprised by this.In the end, maybe dining in is better, I’m sure the view is great, but the food is definitely not worth the $$$ and never mind takeout
When you look for dinner establishments in Missoula, this restaurant tops the search list. After seeing this, I was intrigued. In the culinary world, fine dining needs to be more than an expensive menu and an expansive space. The reason this restaurant seems to have such a following is because it may have been the only, “fine” dining restaurant in Missoula for a couple decades. The chicken marsala had an average presentation and flavors that did not complement one another. The linguine was borderline cold while the chicken was hot. The random two carrots on the side were not thoroughly cooked and also lukewarm. The salmon we ordered had a pungent flavor of propane and also was plated with the same sad carrots. For the amount of money spent, the experience and restaurant gets three stars. Average at best.
Maybe one of the best places for a nice dress up dinner. You will still see people in blue jeans though. Food was very good, service on time and the building it’s self beautiful. Try to get an upper window seat to look out over Missoula. One negative, the table next to us was very load and disruptive. At times my wife and I could not talk because of the noise. The staff did nothing which was a little frustrating, you could see the annoyance on the tables around us.
Great experience. It’s easy to reserve a table next to the window in resy- and the view is lovely. We had Two delicious entrees; clams and cauliflower. We had the soup as well. The main course was delicious, halibut and lamb. The sides were delicious. For dessert a lovely crime brûlée. The server, Joel was attentive but never hovered. It’s a bit pricy but worth it. Highly recommend.
My boyfriend took me here on a special date night & it was perfect! Neither of us had been here before & we both enjoyed our meals! Our favorite were the scallops! We highly recommend getting those!
If I knew a few things ahead of time it would have been a much nicer experience. Because I was unaware that you must request a table ie view, we were taken to a back of the room, up against the road tiny table for 2...I asked if we could have a better table and was told everything was reserved. So be sure to ask...also know the interpretation of medium-rare rack of lamb...if you like slippery chewy lamb, then thats the temp for you...the sauce served alongside was fridge cold...when I asked I was told it was intentionally served that way😳 the mashed potato side with grilled carrots was hard and barely warm. However the service was lovely and they were very gracious in offering any other entree if I wanted and of course didnt charge...so...I would try again but I couldnt honestly give more than 2 stars
Was there for a wedding and reception. Was set up ok but everyone was separated by being in areas away from each other. We were seated upstairs with lots of people with small children, so was difficult to bring plates up the stairs from the buffet holding a child. Food was good and warm and wait staff did come around and offer to get us drinks
Exquisite grounds, great service and delicious meals. Every entré I ordered was artfully balanced for flavor, texture, and color. Appetizers are also wonderful!! I will always return.
Lovely deck to catch the sunset with dinner.Went for the crab legs, but at $60 for 1lb and no sides had to pass.Rack of lamb was delicious as medium rare.
Dined here for the first time ever in celebration of my birthday. Stunning views. Excellent food. Our waiter joel was awesome. We waited about an hour to get our entrees as we were told the kitchen was backed up, but Joel brought us complimentary bread in the meantime and did everything he could to make our wait more pleasant. He was kind, professional, and shared helpful bits about the menu selection. The kind of service I want at a fine dining restaurant. Will visit again!
Fantastic atmosphere, great staff, amazing food, our party had a wide assortment of food, most outstanding was the seafood which they raved was the best they had from a restaurant that was not Seaside. I had the Rack of Lamb which was fantastic and paired well the the sides. A bit on the expensive side for me normally, but well worth every penny.
So disappointed. First, the food was fantastic. Our waiter was superb, many excellent suggestions and he did not disappoint. However, I have NEVER been treated more disrespectful by anyone at a restaurant than I was last night. My husband and I celebrated our 32 anniversary last night and decided to go share a private drink an hour earlier than our reservation in the bar or on the deck and take in the amazing views an ambiance The Keep views offer. The host told us we were not allowed in the bar since we already had a table. We were put at a table for 6 in the back of the dining room that does not provide the view we hoped for. I was obviously disappointed and honestly would have walked out if we had not been meeting 4 other people. If it was not for our waiter, I would probably never go back to The Keep. The glaring disrespect and condescending comments under his breath were seriously unbelievable. I have never experienced such horrible customer service anywhere. So dissapointing.
The food was great. Wait staff were great. Up front guy not so much. It was our 32nd anniversary and we were meeting some freinds for dinner. We got there an hour early because we wanted to enjoy a private drink on the deck just the two of us. He wouldnt let us. Even thouggh the place was empty he claimed we would be taking up two tables since our reserved table was ready. Can you say bul$&#t. One of my coworkers called the restaurant because he wanted to buy us a bottle of wine for our anniversary. They wouldnt allow it. Same guy, i wonder. Either way, too many rules for an industry that claims their going under.
It was good but nothing to write home to momma about. Reminded me of a 70s country club setting...of course it does sit on a golf course.Wife had the halibut which was very good and I had prime rib, a little tough, weak on flavor definitely had better.Service was okay. Staff was pleasant...I think we had a new waiter...missed a lot of small things that make dining out more enjoyable. For price point could have been a lot better, very noisy eating experience. Even with tables spread out a lot of chatter. I think they were having romper room upstairs. Oh and take your phone with you if you go in the bathroom...a little dark in there. It was Mothers Day so maybe things were a little off than normal.
My mom and I had a wonderful experience having dinner last night. Our server, Morgan was amazing! She was knowledgeable about menu and her suggestions were spot on! The food and drinks were sublime
Service was not that good. Server brought us the wrong drinks twice and even after recognizing that mistake she still didn’t bring the correct drinks. Prawns as an appetizer were not very good. Scallops were small and served with just a few potatoes. The cheesecake was something that seemed like it was made from a box, worse than frozen cheesecake. Will not be back.
Atrocious service. We made reservations, arrived on time, and were seated for almost 20 minutes and not a single staff member could be bothered to do so much as take a drink order. We ended up leaving as we could not even get a response when trying to flag down a server. Quite possibly the worst dining (or in this case non-diningexperience I have ever had in my life. Vote with your wallet and avoid this travesty of a "fine dining" restaurant.
Every meal I have had has been exceptional. Staff is wonderful and attentive. The views are spectacular, even at the dead of winter. Love the cozy couple areas by the windows as well as the larger tables for family dinning.Definitely a place to eat and have great cocktails with friends and family.
All together a wonderful experience for valentines day. The staff was wonderful and helpful but not to attentive that it got annoying. The food was absolutely amazing and the view was spectacular. I will be back another time and will be recommending your restaurant over other high end eating establishments in the future.
The wonderful service is the reason we keep coming back. Last week, we were greeted at the table with warm bread and a warm smile (from what we could gather under the maskfrom Emily C.In a time when you have to ask for the little things, it’s wonderful to have a waitress that is one step ahead. Thank you Emily, and the entire staff for a wonderful meal, amazing view, and warm smile. We will be back.
Excellent food. Very Clean & so glad masks were mandatory. Great social distancing and very polite and helpful staff. I did have one remark to make though: the Salmon dish was Very tasty, but it had a large bone that was not removed from the fillet & the roasted rainbow carrots were a nice touch, but one of them was very hard & I could not eat it. Just some ideas to make the dish much more palatable next time. I also found a long blonde hair in my whipped potatoes. Some things that can be improved upon.
Our last experience here on 10/11/20 was far better than our 2 previous visits. We took another chance and went for our anniversary dinner. Thank goodness it didnt disappoint! I ordered the Rack of Lamb (perfectionhowever my husbands King Crab had pieces that were still quite cold. The Cajun Calamari appetizer was delicious and we ended the meal with a Creme Brulee that was MUAH! The service was great with an impressive wine list.
Great restaurant with beautiful views of Missoula and tasty food. I had a medium rare lamb, my wife had the duck confit. We each had a glass of wine and shared vanilla ice cream and the chocolate torte. Came out to ~$100 including tip.

Lovely place. Food is good. Love their Clams, scallops. My daughter claer her plate with duck, pasta Alfredo and Halibut from ours. 😋
My wife and I love the Keep. The food is always fantastic, especially the clams, and the service is second to none. The view is pretty fantastic too.
The Keep has some of the best all around food in Missoula. Great main courses, phenomenal dessert, and some of the best drink specials of any restaurant. Yet, the reason I think it is as special as it is is the sunsets. They truly are magical from that location.
Terrific views and we enjoyed an appetizer and drinks on the patio and a delicious dinner inside.
Amazing food, service and sunset views! Drinks A+, our server was awesome with great recommendations and the food was tasty. I have to say the calamari was the best I have ever eaten, tender without any rubbery texture and batter was nice and light. You can choose from the tavern seating (recommend), or little bit more formal seating. But shorts and jeans welcome at the bat area. Highly recommend.
From this location, and especially if youre eating on the deck, the views of Missoula are awesome. Wether you go for drinks, appetizers, desserts or a whole meal, you wont be disappointed. We tried a bunch and they were all very good. The calamari was tender and my steak was done just right. Go for the views, stay for the food.Dont sweat it if you didnt call for reservations. They always have a few tables open. Although if you dont want to get the evil eye from the hostess, you should call ahead.
Made a trip there on a Wednesday evening. First time here (many visits to Missoula). Sat outside. Service was great, the view wonderful. I tried the Chicken Marsala which was perfectly cooked, maybe just slightly spicier due to black pepper than what I am used to but still very good. Will definitely return.
