172 Vauxhall Bridge Rd, Victoria, London SW1V 1DX, Victoria
Victorian pub in bank building with stone columns and high ceiling, tiled floor and mezzanine level.
A very chilled out pub with upstairs seating and beer garden. Great service and food. Lots of Beers and ales. 241 cocktails on Saturday. Close to Victoria. Highly Recommended.
Pleasant pub. Nice staff. Traditional
Wife and I stopped in for a bite during happy hour. Menu looked tasty with a good amount of options. Staff was friendly and helpful. By their adverts/menu, they prided themselves on their pies.I had their rabbit casserole which was good, but not worth writing home about (then again, I might have been spoiled by Grandmas). It came with mixed greens made up of peas, Spinach, and possibly cabbage (not 100% sure thoughwhich was quite tasty. My spouse had one of there steak and ale pies but was NOT impressed. The taste was good but it had been way overcooked to the point that she couldnt cut into it with a knife. Half the meat inside had turned as hard as a rock and was inedible.Seemed like a nice local spot and would go back if we lived in the area. But we were only visiting, probably just had bad luck that night.
Great pub, a little bit of a hidden gem. Very interesting layout and style
Nice sized pub, that use to be an old bank, good selection of drinks... decent food and snacks menu...and also has a little beer garden in the heart of pimlico
Lively out in the pub area, yet my husband and I were able to have a quiet dinner at a back table. The meat pies were A MAZE ING and Id love to visit The Jugged Hare again!
Nice pub in Victoria. Good atmosphere
Not sure why its only 4.2... Great pub, great atmosphere and the food is great
Great place! I had the tasting board and was very pleased. The chips were really good. My favourite ones I’ve had in a while. Kind staff and nice vibe.
Friendly staff, decent pub food. I had a steak pie with mash and veggies. Beautiful presentation, the steak pie was excellent, the mash was basic, but the veggies were really bland and not very fresh. Would I eat it again? Yes. Its better than the average.
Great beer.Food good too
Great Sunday dinner and beers on tap were perfect!
Fantastic food and Drinks. Been here twice in 2 days. Love it!
Very good meal sizes, tasted excellent, 4 stars for a prices higher then other pubs in neighborhood.
Great for food or just a drink in a beautifully decorated high ceilinged bar with mezzanine level. The pies arent the biggest, but are very tasty, and they do pie and a pint for £17. The staff were very friendly and helpful, adding to the lovely atmosphere and enjoyable evening.
Very good selection of beers and ales...Beautiful place to hangout.
Nice pub, pleasant decor and fairly spacious. Staff friendly and efficient.
A superb 2 course lunch in this historic and friendly pub. Service excellent !
A nice boozer in the old Westminster bank building, a little beer garden and some decent ales on tap
Stunning pub. Quiet in weekends too which makes it more appealing. Sunday roast was great def recommend
Best scotch egg I’ve ever had! Compliments to chef Andy. Stunning restaurant for game - cant wait to go back!!
Great atmosphere, very friendly staff. Booked a table for a 6 Nations Rugby game and had a very nice time.
Great pub! Plenty of seating and screens for tv sports.Fantastic food at great prices.Would recommend.
Great pub food & yummy cider on draft!
Absolutely fantastic pub, thoroughly enjoyed and would most certainly recommend the Sunday roast, which was sublime. Great food and friendly staff made for an extremely pleasant experience.
Laid back wood panelled pub with a great garden. If booking with friends grab to he mezzanine floor it overlooks the whole ground floor and is a great space. Great service, very friendly.
Had a fantastic Xmas meal here Food was excellent service was brilliant and staff very hospitable. Whole experience was great for my friends and I after not meeting up since pandemic. Recommend highly
Wonderful pub. Got the Londoner pie. Absolutely delicious. The beef was so tender. Highly recommend it, if you can get it (I managed to get the last one of the evening).
A classic old London pub with good beer and friendly staff.
I would like to thank Elise and the entire Jugged Hare- Victoria team for helping us host a wonderful social hour for our London Office. Their team was incredibly friendly, accommodating and professional. Great drinks selection, food options ( veggie friendlyand music. Will definitely host more team meets here.Thank you again!
Greeted with full Fullers customer service, and had a great pint of frontier and a plant based burger which was promptly served and tasty. If you are in London Victoria and want a drink and a bite to eat The Jugged Hare is the place to go 👍🏿. I am definitely coming back
Lovely friendly staff on the last day of outdoor seating only. Drinks were good other than the half full glass prosecco for the price of a bottle (the -1 star). Would recommend coming here. Toilets were fresh and clean. They have heaters in part of the patio as well as an awning covering half of it. Generally nice vibes.
Excellent location, fantastic atmosphere. Think....1930s prohibition era mafia boss hangout, and youve nailed it, albeit with a modern twist on music selection. Multiple beverage options exist, as well as cocktails and food, with pricing far below the area would suggest, seriously. The house Steak and ale dinner, coupled with a few house choice draught pints still barely toppled a modest 20 Quid. Offering up, in essence, far more bang-to-buck value at a historic location than any competing local venues can topple at far less historically classed establishments. Highly suggested if in the area and quite peckish.
A lovely pub, converted bank branch I believe, cozy, went on a weekday lunchtime and was fairly quiet but still had a nice ambience with what seemed like a few locals. Fullers always offer good beers/wines in my opinion so a good range of drinks were available. Did not eat but food looked good. Barman was professional and very pleasant. Clean, not noisy, welcoming. Hope to go back soon!
The worst toad in the hole ever. This is not toad in the hole. This is a very stale, dry and leathery Yorkshire pudding filled with low quality sausages, onion and bisto gravy.Quite genuinely the worst toad in the hole Ive ever eaten, and one of the worst pub meals Ive had in my life.I would not recommend eating here.
Lovely staff, the food is very good and affordable. A wide range of nice beers. The place is very cozy, nicely decorated.
Went there for dinner and the food was outstanding! Had the pie with mash and gravy and must say I haven’t had one like this yet (not that I’ve eaten many, but it was the best one so far). We had to order at the bar, but the food arrived really quickly. Nice location and interior.(“Only”4 stars because: I had to put the empty glasses from the previous guests away myself. Despite the food being amazing, I must say it‘s quite pricey. But all in all, I’d recommend it 😊
Excellent place. From out of town but felt like a local and treated like one. Steak and ale pie was awesome. Thank you
Our first visit to a pub in the UK. Service was prompt & friendly, and the food was great! We chose from the tasting dishes - loved the scotch egg, crispy squid, steak pie, and fried haddock.
This bustling pub provided our first meal in the UK, and what an appropriate introduction this was! Our server took great care of us. We were never kept wanting a drink and our food didn’t take long, either. My husband tried two beers while I had a Cornish cider from on tap. For my meal, I ordered 3 of the small plates: mozzarella and tomato salad (fresh ingredients and complemented everything else), Welsh rarebit with chutney (SO GOOD, and that chutney was divine), and one of their mini meat pies, steak and mushroom. My husband ordered the lamb pie, which was sublime thanks to the inclusion of mint—a combo I have read about but never had in America.
Fantastic food, wonderful beer, and a very lovely staff all contributed to the best English birthday meal I could have asked for. Wonderful atmosphere full of life and laughter
Awesome food and great beer Gamma Ray
Worth a visit just to experience the classic English pub vibe, there is also a friendly and helpful staff and a fine selection of beers. Our orders of steak pie and fish and chips were very tasty. I would rate the neighborhood as pricy and the pub reflects this.
One of my favorite meals in London. We were staying in the City of Westminster for seven days and I had used google maps to scope out several places for food and drink. The images of the pies paired with different ales intrigued me so I had picked this place as a destination. The Jugged Hare was everything I wanted it to be. Instead of a long established pub location it was originally a bank, with a very different facade. However, the interior was remodeled with lots of nice wood and uniquely includes a mezzanine over the bar, giving it a very nice space. There is also restaurant seating but my family and I chose to sit in the bar. The Flight of Pies (pictures included, they termed it the Pie tasting boardwere delicious. I knew I would enjoy the steak and ale pie, but found I really loved the Stilton and sweet potato pie. I also enjoyed the parsley liquor as I rarely get a chance to have that in Texas, it was great with the chicken curry pie. They have a large selection of beer but I stuck with cask London Pride, which is something else I cant get in Texas. As for prices, some of the other reviews Ive seen have ranged everywhere from expensive to fair prices for the value, we were in vacation mode and paid little attention to pricing so I have little input on that except to say that it seemed typical of our trip. They did not have a kids menu so we ended up ordering the half pound burger for my 10 year old son, he ate the whole thing. My wife had the fish and chips and nodded approval. We walked back to our room a happy family. Great location. Great food. Great pub.
What a great venue! Any bub with a mezzanine rates for me! Great beer, great hosts, what more could you want? Lovely place to pop in and get a beer!
Really nice bar. Beer garden outside open till 9pm. Nice proper pub food at good prices. Pie and a beer deal at lunchtime mon-fri
The jugged hare pie is delicious. Solid beer selection and a great atmosphere. I have enjoyed every visit.
If you like pies, this is the place for you. The beer is not too bad either - so, a piae and a pint? Jugged Hare here I come! The service is quite good also
Ive been in London for holidays for three days and went there twice to have dinner. The ambience is great and the staff really friendly and kind.Great beers and the pies are *delicious*.I highly recommend it, specially if you want to feel comfortable and have a good meal.
Warm atmosphere, nice food, very clean pub.Just one bus stop from Victoria train station, this pub is welcoming and the decoration makes it very charming.I really enjoyed my meal, fair price for a tasty fish and chips. I noticed that the pub was very very clean; tables, chair and even the carpet, which is usually very difficult to keep in good condition, were well maintained.
