Really lovely lunch and service was great too!

Very nice food and great outside seats overlooking the common. The bar and restaurant have a nice atmosphere. Service was good, always very friendly & polite. Pretty accommodating of the two toddlers in our party. Expensive though.

Amazing food. Sunday roast is brilliant! Staff are so welcoming and helpful, even when the restaurant was full. Nothing was too much trouble. Look forward to next visit.

1st time Ive been to the jolly farmer, it was a clean tidy pub, all the usual drinks available, I had steak and ale pie from the menu. Id give the meal a 6.5/10 for the following reasons. The mash potatoes were quite runny so assumed it was powdered potato mixed to wet, the pie was ok but filling needed more meat. No veg on plate.

Been a handful of times, and so far, we had not been let down!Their staff had always been welcoming and attentive. Services were quick, food choices are relatively broad, and quality is in the higher range.Very children friendly, great for both family meals, out with friends or small gatherings.They also have a garden too, but Ive never sat outside, so I cant comment on that :)

Nice food - different selection from your average gastropub! Great that they serve all day - enjoyed a very late bank holiday lunch!

The food is brilliant the staff are lovely I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone. They were also really great with my son and the childs menu was excellent. This time I went for an evening drinking with a friend still a fantastic experience.

Excellent Sunday lunch ...most had roast beef with a huge Yorkshire pudding.

Lovely country pub. You can say a lot about a Sunday roast by how well they make Yorkshire puddings. And the Jolly Farmer have amazing Yorkshire puddings.Great value for money size of the dish was proportionate to the price. Child’s portion was really impressive not shy in any way.Quality of the food was amazing. Everything was fresh and the meat was cooked perfectly.Very polite and attentive service so defiantly one we’ll be going back to.

We went on a Virgin Experience. The food very good though a limited choice for Voucher users. The service was excellent especially from our waitress Anna. We’ve been before and will definitely go again

A mixed review. The food was generally good and the staff was cool, but the evening was a bit of a disaster.The fire alarm went off just after our first course. Somehow in the confusion they completely overcooked (read: burnt the hell out ofour steak. I cant believe they let it leave the kitchen, but it was probably due to the confusion surrounding the fire situation. They were very nice and understanding about replacing the steak, and at the end of the day they landed on their feet with the food.However, they charged us full price for all the food. Any place that charges these prices should have been embarrassed enough about what they tried to serve us to comp a main course (or even an appetizer). A free glass of wine is a bit of an insult for the experience they provided.Oh, and then as we were trying to pay and leave, they were busy kicking out an extremely drunk patron at the bar. Not the best place to try to celebrate a quiet birthday with your girlfriend.

Great meal at the Jolly Farmer. Menu is same as Brasserie Blanc so presume they are in the same chain. Was very busy and service creaked a bit at times would be my only comment. Food was excellent same comment as Brasserie Blanc would be good to see some variety on the menu and also some new kids options.

I enjoyed the experience while dining. Just wish the fish soup had a little more elements in it and was so watery. Other than that, everything else was great.

Really good lunch, sea bream dish was excellent. Only tiny criticism would be the croutons not crispy but the whole dish was first class, interesting and well presented. Lovely service too

The fish curry is amazing. Staff are also lovely, we took our dog and she was well tended to with water and treats. Highly recommend

Came here with my partner and we both had the roast beef dinner. Hands down the best roast I’ve had when eating out - the cuts of meat were high quality, and cooked to perfect. Roasties we’re fresh and crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside - it was all so good. The service and place just topped the experience - staff were so on point and friendly. Can’t wait to go back.

Today we had our friends annual Christmas dinner at The Jolly Farmer and we couldnt be happier with our experience. Catering for 24 people (including 5 children aged 6 months to 2 years oldis not easy, but the food was amazing, the staff were kind and welcoming and we had a thoroughly enjoyable time.The pub feels spacious and has a handy car park. I would definitely recommend this pub to anyone and we will be returning in the future!Thank you to all the team at the Jolly Farmer!

Just the most wonderful place to celebrate my 65th birthday. We had a large party of 18 and the staff service could not have been better. The food is outstanding with many interesting things to be found on the menu .Good wine selection too.

Lovely, friendly pub with excellent food. We have now been twice and had a fantastic Sunday lunch and now a really delicious dinner. The menu has really interesting and varied dishes, so we plan to come back many times.

Went for Sunday lunch. It was absolutely rammed, which is always a sign that a place is popular. As a result, we did have to wait a little while for a food but it was worth it! I had roast beef with all the trimmings, it was juicy, tasty and rare, absolutely delicious. My dad had beetroot salad, a very full plate. We also had a traditional dessert each, apple and calvados crumble and sticky toffee pudding. The deal was two courses for £20 which was very good value. The staff worked extremely hard, they did not stop, and all were extremely attentive, helpful and polite. Only downside was the table next to us was occupied by a family who seemed to think it was necessary to shout, but thats not the restaurants fault. It was noisy but thats because it was so full. Excellent food and service but you probably wont get into the car park!! Will definitely return.

Weve been to the pub/restaurant several times previously and I would highly recommend it for a location for summer drinks in the afternoon/evening. The other night we popped in for a quick bite and it was quiet when we got there, the server was excellent, but the food was disappointing. The seafood starter was overcooked to the point of being chewy and unpalatable, which was a great shame, because the rest of the food was excellent. The manager seemed to hover far too much, whilst not really doing anything. It would have been great if hed spared some time to find out how his customers were enjoying the food, then he might have found out how his chefs had missed the mark so badly.Overall we had a nice evening spoilt by a terribly executed starter, our experiences with this restaurant always seem so mixed.

My family and I all thoroughly enjoyed our experience at The Jolly Farmer. We were all very impressed with the quality of the food and also the extensive choice of food as well! We were seated in the outdoor bar area which was very nice decorated with a good sized cover, lights and bunting.The waiters were all very friendly and attentive too. Well definitely be back to visit again!

Absolute delight! The squid starter completely exceeded our expectations, its was cooked to perfection and really well seasoned and the accompanying grilled veggie and salad 10/10. The roast cod curry was so delicious and beautifully presented. Service was fantastic, prompt and attentive. The food was also served in a good pace. The children menu was also lovely, the mezze starter is the best Ive seen anywhere with the selection of guacamole, houmous and veggie sticks, my boy gave it a 10/10. Our allergies request was also accompdated. It was a great experience, the decor, cleanliness and service all spot on! Would definitely return and highly recommended!

Lovely interior, super friendly and accommodating staff. Menu was excellent and all the dishes we had were absolutely delicious. The sticky toffee pudding was the best Ive ever eaten. Loved how nice the kids menu was and how the staff took extra care of our toddler. Will definately be back.

I went here today with a work colleague for lunch and could not fault the food or service at all.The food was exceptional and good value for money, with plenty of choices. Portion sizes were spot on and although satisfying, still left enough room for dessert if desired.The staff managed to strike that perfect balance of being attentive at the right times, but not a struggle to find or too overbearing; which seems so rare these days!Overall, a very pleasant first experience, we will certainly return. Please keep up the good work!

Last Saturday we celebrated a friends 60th, which was a lovely surprise because we werent told who else was invited. The staff and management were extremely helpful allowing us to sit outside after already settling inside originally. Three of us had Squid for starters, nice and zesty. My mains was the Salmon and Chips rather than the healthy salad. Sticky Toffee Pud for deserts. All round my meal was a delight never disappointed at any time. Staff, atmosphere and general service was wonderful, thank you for giving us such a enjoyable evening. Yes we will be coming back. David

Lovely location. Inside attractive but we sat outside in an airy covered garden area tastefully planted and illuminated - ideal for the hottest day of the year!! Food exquisite, good value and staff fantastic - attentive, helpful and friendly without being overbearing. Pedro in particular made a great effort with all the patrons but all staff deserve great credit.

Nice local pub. Food is of good quality and prepared well. The menu has something for everyone and is a cut or two above standard pub fare without being too fussy or expensive. Staff are a credit to the place as well. Lovely setting on the common with plenty of parking and a decent outside space when the weather is nice. Recommended for families or just a group of mates.

I havent been here for a while but stopped by for lunch with my Dad. It cost slightly more than usual but I thought the food tasted better than usual and was presented well. Im sure Ill be coming back again soon
