The James Joyce - Irish pub in Prague, Czech Republic
An hidden gem in Prague, we were pleasantly surprised with this pub. We went there to see the motogp on tv, no expectations, but we found an amazing staff, very kind (not so usual in the others pub in Pragueand professional, the food was superb, much better than many other restaurants we have visited here. Compliments again and we hope to see you very soon.
Smashing little place, a little off the beaten track (when I say a little I mean very little but not on a main road. We had food which was excellent and the service and other people in the bar were just great.
Nice place although the food is insanely expensive for what it is. It was tasty, but pricey. They have nice selection of beer on tap.
Very average pub with ridiculously expensive beer.
Cozy Irish Pub. Good food and great service
Best Guinness in Prague 😍
nice pub on a quiet strret of the old town.was way more atmospheric back then
A nice pub to have your lunch when walking the tourist trails of Prague.
Great atmosphere!!!but the food wasn’t too good
Best bar in the city!!Even came back the next day to buy an awesome breakfast
Amazing food, amazing ambiance and amazing staffGarlic bread is must to have, its really nice and I love garlic breads. It was my day 1 in prague and My accommodation was in the same building (entry adjacentand the agency person was late.It wAs cold, The staff let us in and allow us to wait.A kind gesture.
Outstanding food, especially the fish and chips. The staff couldnt be more polite and happy. We actually went there on 3 occasions. Will definitely be going there again when we go back.
Great service, fantastic food with a great daily menu in the work week
Me and my friend absolutely recommend this pub. Great atmosphere, really nice bartender and good drinks. But you better be no Chelsea fan xD
My wife and I were in prague for saint Patricks weekend 2022 and came across The James joyce during a late morning (very early afternoon 🙂)walk.the very friendly irish barman was very pleasant and very chatty. Needless to say we stayed and enjoyed saint Patricks day. Thank you guys.we will be back again soon. Only one thing , I forgot to buy ur T/shirt that I had planned on doing. Tks pat and Brid.
Great food, drinks are reasonabley priced, surprisingly good guiness, very good service, lovely atmosphere.
A very decent Irish pub experience. Guiness on tap!
The service was very nice. However, CZK 300 for a meal of the taste and size as in a high school canteen and CZK 65 for a Gambrinus beer seems to me pretty much.
Standart Irish bar... Staff and ambiance are avaragely good. Their kitchen closes at 9 pm.Instead of the product you ordered, they can bring another product without asking you.
a once legendary irsh pub turned tourist trap with rude apathetic staff
Great service and an Irish breakfast that can cure any hangover.-1 star because I found a caterpillar in my side salad 😩
Nice bar for a pint in Prague staff were very friendly 🍻🍻
Very good service and good food.
The best friendly Irish place with yammy fish and chips😉👍🏻
Perfect for watching some Saturday afternoon sport Great food and atmosphere, Guinness and Kilkenny on tap. Lots of traditional Irish pub food, burgers, fish n chips, fry up etc. Very friendly staff, dogs welcome.
The best Irish bar in Prague in my opinion, lovely quiet spot, not a tourist trap, decent beers and not over charged like some others...also if youre a fan of HP sauce, youll be able to enjoy it here with your meal.
It waas a very likeable Irish Pub with very friendly staff. The drinks were very affordable and the atmosphere was nice!
I have been drinking in this establishment for many years.IMO it is by far and a way the best of all the Irish pubs in Prague.Under the current ownership of longtime personal friends John and Gordon it really has gone to another level!!!! The selection of beers , wines and whiskeys is hard to match and as for the food , well I dare say no more.. Simply mouthwatering. The personal and friendly service provided by all the bar and waiting staff is hard to beat. They also have a e/shop where you can purchase sausages , bacon and a whole host of other goodies.
Food was shocking, burger not cooked through, waitress claimed thats how they cook them but hadnt asked "how would you like it cooked" prior, took burgers away and rather than cook from scratch what returned was nothing short of a greasy mess on the plate. Other meal ordered was clearly tasteless frozen sausages on a panini however price reflected that of a full pub meal, nice place however beer not great, service not great and food diabolical.
Cool Irish Pub in the center. Good service and tasty food. Just too expensive perhaps
Pretty cozy pub, tasty beer, will be back for sure
Wonderful, very cozy and pleasant place!Great variety of Irish beer and dishes. Staff is super friendly.
Good beer and drink choice but sticky tables and difficult for Czech speaking guests. Its more an attraction for tourists.
Nice food and friendly atmosphere.
Joyful place . Unique. Cosy and small.Beautifully located. When the owners of this best Irish Pub in Prague spends time drinking at their bar with customers and friends, it should tell you something about the quality of the place.Go and decide for yourself .
Outstanding pub, great food .great atmosphere especially for the expat.
The pub its self is unique in a City of many Delights , it caters for locals who Blend in with the Visitors its Menu and food are Excellent the selection of Beers & Lagers are next to none and the Staff are polite willing to advise on its special offers on lunch and Beverage etc it also caters for the Sportsman a wide coverage of the many Sporting fixtures on any Day worth a Visit Day or Night with a 100% welcome , JH , Dublin/Eire .
The perfect Irish pub, tucked away in the backstreets of Prague. Very friendly staff, nice pubfood and a cute terrace to sit outside. Easygoing and typical Irish, I love it :)
Redoing the review because three stars is unfair. Service is lovely, beer also nice. Food is not perfect but much better than average for any tourists lucky enough to be in Prague. Love you guys
Best pint of Guinness in Prague. And Ive been to all the Irish bars in the city, and I previously worked for Guinness in Ireland many years ago and ran my own bar in the west of Ireland. The Guinness here is actually up to scratch and better than many bars back at home.Food is excellent, and the staff are mostly Irish who know exactly what they’re doing - complete professionals who know how to pour a great Guinness!Pity for the shamrock on the Gusiness though...just leave it off guys, please, or at least for us Irish. We all know how much we hate a shamrock on the head of our pint.
This is a great Irish pub, with good menu options, excellent beer and good service. The Sunday night live music is fabulous. This has been a great venue in Prague to keep up with 2019 rugby world cup games. But were there often. Ive met some of my favourite people there.
Great prices, amazing Goulash, fish and chips, and surprisingly adequate nachos!
Superb Pub, off the main tourist track but very welcoming. Staff excellent, good facilities, good food, Satellite TV, good beer choice including local and importing drinks.
One of my favourite Irish pubs in Prague 😊. The Irish Breakfast served all day, Mollys fries are delicious. Very kind service 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Really nice pub, the best Guinness I have ever had in Prague. The service was fast and the lady was super friendly. Next time in the czech capital I will come back for sure 😀
Stopped here a couple of times for beers and lunch. Goulash soup was very good and cost next to nothing! Nice and cozy athmospherewith a live fireplace. Good selection of whiskeys. Recommended for pints, lunch or both as we did ;-)
Cozy little Irish Bar just off the Old Town Square known for its great food
Best pub. Very friendly, not like many tourist traps in town. Quiet residencial area. All speak good english, clean, non-smoking. Guiness CZK109, Gambrinus CZK55. Just perfect clam place for a drink in way OVER touristy Prague!
Probably the most authentic Irish pub youll find in Prague, lots of great memorabilia
One of the best Irish bars me and my partner have been too. As soon as you walk in even if youre the only people in there the atmosphere is brilliant. The staff are awesome and all speak good English and make you feel very welcome. The food is delicious!! Hands down best Irish bar in Prague ! Thank you guys
