First time eating here the cashier was friendly upsold a burrito food was tasty

The boudin was delicious! The prices are very high though.

Did not realize this is a chain in Louisiana, lousy food for sure. No taste in the jambalaya or the boudin which I got, the only reasonable thing was price so did not feel utterly disappointed. Not sure how you run restaurant chains like this where food is tasteless. Very sad for sure!

Love the service and the food. Make sure you take the survey on your receipt and agree to get text messages for promotions you wont be disappointed, I always get free stuff for buying the food I die for.

Ill start with the real positives...high traffic location, happy, knowledgeable staff, and freshly made cracklins that are off the chain! The boudin was very basic and served lukewarm. The jambalaya was very bland, the sausage was just substance without any flavor, but had lots of tasty chicken. Its a young restaurant so it my improve over time. I will come back for the cracklins. I recommend calling ahead for large orders.

Great place for Louisiana food. Met the new owner, and he is a great guy and is excited for his new adventure. The staff was efficient and the food was delish. I had the Jambalaya plate, which was very good

It is a great place to eat. If you dont eat the side dish with the jambalaya they substitute it with more jambalaya. The portion size is small and big . You can get one for catering as well for a reasonable price.

Salad was not fresh... Lots of brown wilted greens... Jambalaya was ok.. not the best i have had... Think this location is cutting too many corners

Always always always have good food. I literally eat here at least twice or three times a week. Sometimes Ill eat at other out of town locations and its always delicious.

Great jambalaya and pastalaya. Their fried gratons (pork skinsare awesome. Never get tired of eating here. Food is spiced perfect. Just wish they would stay open later.

Spaghetti noodles in pastalaya, not! Beans were old, dried out and reheated.

No memorable, something you can easily make at home. I wanted to taste Cajun but dont feel this was doing it justice

I used to come here often for lunch. It is hit or miss. Some days the food is amazing and other days it is bland and dry. If they can get some consistency, they would be in the running for the top 5 Cajun food in Houma. (Well, at least a runner upupdate:. 7/29/2919 I removed a star from my rating because it seems as though the sausage and chicken is disappearing from the chicken & sausage jambalaya. This has been the case the last few times Ive eaten here

The food is delicious. You get big size portions. There is a daily lunch aside from the menu. Believe me you won’t be disappointed.

Friendly service but FOH are not the most fast and attentive. Only in Houma!! Thibodaux and management sucks

Just ok... on first visit to the Thibodaux location we ordered the #1 dinner from menu and seafood gumbo. The # 1 dinner was supposed to come with green salad but got potato salad which was really good. The seafood gumbo was barely warm enough to even eat and was mostly rice slightly covered with gumbo but the flavor was good The chicken and sausage Jambalaya..... skip this totally. The chicken was so dry it was more like jerky and not even close to being served warm. I had to take the juice from the chicken and sausage gumbo to place on the Jambalaya chicken to even eat it. However the cracklings and dessert are quite good. Now.... called on Mardi Gras day to order takeout and was told the Seafood Gumbo was weekend only. REALLY? This is south Louisiana and weekend only? Service was minimal and the overall experience was average at best and this is stretching it. May try again But really not sure.

I had the pastalya on a Monday evening and it was bland....the Inside of the chicken was cold. As well as the Pasta. This is the second time and the last time that I ever eat there. i really did not enjoy it the first time I tried it but I decided to give it another shot.

The food here is amazing. The jambalaya has alot of chicken in it! They are not stingy! The gumbo is very good also! Reminds me of my mothers! The prices are great for the amount of food!

Took my sweetheart there for lunch. Wanted to get the usual chicken stew for Thursday. Managed to get the last two servings. Hooray! Service was excellent. The view of a storm brewing was a nice chart topper. Good food with Jerry Doiron. Made the moment special even though we had lots to do. tea was pretty good for being commercial and brewed not quite as good as Organo you understand but not bad...

Came here with coworkers from Miami for dinner for the first time. All three of our meals were cold. Cold gumbo, cold jambalaya, cold pastafayala. Disappointed.

Ive had better Jambalaya, red beans and Gumbo of which I have cooked or my friends have cooked on their carport. All of these tasted like they were made out of a box. Sorry, I cant give this place a good review. My taste buds and the Cajun in me wont let that happen.

Huge portions of food! Great taste and take on a Louisiana classic. Of course everybody has their own family recipe, but there’s something special in this food. Very fast and friendly service every visit. Definitely need some corn bread with my beans though!

Talk about some good jambalaya and side salad. The pastalaya is ok. We go there for the jambalaya. We were very surprised that it was so good. The gumbo isn’t recommended. The roux tastes bland.

This place is amazing. They always give huge portions of foos. I often end up with a to go plate if I eat there because of this. I love the jambalaya and the red beans rice and sausage most of all. It is a bit pricey though and I wish there were more cheaper options to choose from. The atomsphere is nice and quaint with southern charm. This is one of my favorite new places to eat when I visit houma.

When I walked in, there was a faint but certain smell. I believed it to be the smell of grease. I had gumbo, potato salad, and a drink. The cost was just under $12. Which I consider to be a bit high.The gumbo itself was good; however, it was clear that the gumbo wasnt strained of the remaining grease of the roux. The chicken wasnt cut adequately. Essentially I had a deboned thigh which hadnt had any of the fat removed. I also noticed that the onions werent cooked down enough. Again there gumbo was good but I also found it lacking in a number of areas, especially for the price. The amount of potatoe salad was also questionable. If I received 4oz. Of potatoe salad I would be surprised.I was also unable to find any gumbo file anywhere which is disheartening for a place called the Jambalaya Shop.All that being said, the quaint atmosphere was nice. I plan on going back to try some of their other dishes in order for me to decide if this place is worthy of being one of my regular stops for lunch.

Never eating here again! The service was great, but the food was HORRIBLE.

Ive been to this store now 4 times. Twice for jambalaya and the last two for gumbo. I dont understand why they advertise the gumbo with chicken and sausage? Lets just say that we dont consider 1 piece of sausage in a order for two is a sufficient amount. I wouldnt complain except this has happened twice now. Hopefully no one else has had this problem.

Great service and experience other than the food. Chicken is overcooked and dry. Sausage is overcooked. Jambalaya is very bland. Boudin has far too much liquid in it and is undercooked. Boudin casing is still quite chewy and undercooked but decently seasoned. Not a place Id ever eat again. Not an accurate representation of Louisiana boudin or jambalaya.

I went to this place with my boyfriend on his lunch break. He ordered jambalaya and potato salad he expected the potatoe salad to be cold but not the jambalaya. And the food had no seasoning.It was just a bad experience for him.

Great service, lunch specials, the food is super delicious and you get a lot. I had enough for lunch and had enough left for another meal! I love to eat here!

The food is good. The serving size is plenty. Quick service.

The jambalaya was amazing! The dessert could be better. It was just regular pudding with oreos in it. I was expecting something like homemade bread pudding. The inside and outside of the restaurant is very comfortable atmosphere and pleasing to look at. The people who work there were very friendly. Overall it was a good experience eating there just wish the dessert would have been better.

Its ok as a Louisiana cuisine restaurant but the price for such an ordinary taste isnt worth it.

I got the chicken and sausage jambalaya with a green salad, and red beans, it didnt come with rice, it also came with a roll.The red beans were tender however I found they didnt have much flavor and were rather on the bland side.For all the food we got we spent about $21 (two dinners). Would definitely recommend it.
