The Ivy’s urbane, neighbourhood-style brasserie for accessible Modern British eats, served all day.
Very well decorated and stylish French restaurant in Kensington. Very busy at weekdays lunch time but you can get a table without booking before 11:30am, which you have one hour before the 12:30pm peak hours. Staff are very nice. You feel like dining in France. We tried the soup, curry and fish in the set menu. They’re all delicious. For its price, this restaurant is a must-try.
You have not had a Shepherds Pie unless youve tried the one at the Ivy. It is impossible to describe how exquisite it tastes. The staff was amazing. Gregory was very attentive and on the spit when i needed anything. The ambiance allowed for me to read my book while I waited for my food. Low eclectic music.
Came here for dinner with friends. The food was alright but the service was not very good. My fiancé put his bag next to him on the walkway and got yelled at by one of the staff. After our meal we asked for the bill and one of the staff pointed at another staff and said it was his responsibility and walked away. This left a bad taste in our mouths. Good food and ambience but pity the service wasn’t up to snuff.
Good experience. Love the Interior and atmosphere. Prices are fair , cocktails are great . Steak tartare was delicious and it was my first time trying fish and chips . Place is super crowded so prepare to wait to be seated. We had a reservation and even then waited 20 minutes to get seated . Yet , staff did great job , our order came fast and overall experience was great.
I love Ivy Kensington - always exceptional. This was a solo visit, and my table captain assumed I was waiting for a companion and only offered water upon seating. Once they realized that I was alone - wonderful contrition and amazing service! I was doted upon for the remainder of my lengthy stay. The wine list is extensive. The food was perfect. Consistency is THE measure for an exceptional restaurant - and The Ivy has not disappointed me in 12+ years.
When in Kensington and looking for a vibe, ( ambiance, decorations, good service, quality food and drinks give The Ivy a try you will not regret it. The bartender was very pleasant and made the drinks to perfection. Must I say complements to the chef or chefs. Yummmmmm 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙏🏾🙌🏾🎊🎊🎊🎊🙏🏾🙌🏾🎊
Best Eggs Benedict I’ve ever had. This is an absolute must if you’re looking for a breakfast spot. I wish we had time to go here again before we left.
What a lovely experience. We visited for brunch and we were a bit early for our booking, staff were so accommodating and were able to seat us right away. The food was absolutely delicious (I recommend the steak tartar). Stunning interior and great atmosphere.
The service was very good, friendly staff. Started with some refreshing cocktails, followed by the steak cooked medium as requested tasted quite nice. Side of truffle fries were very nice and crispy and side of spinach which was very nice. The blacked cod was a bit disappointing the fish was quite hard either over cooked or reheated. The overall meal was nice but expected a little better for the price.
Excellent service and food. Definitely on the more expensive side. We ordered the shepherds pie, chicken milanese, prawm tempura, drinks and chocolate bomb.
Been there for dinner, the menu is mostly seafood which is not my cup of tea. However, the few chicken and pasta dishes there did not disappoint at all. The restaurant is elegant and clean. But almost always crowded at the time of my visit. The staff were friendly and caring.
Crispy duck salad: okay but the meat was more dry and rough than crispy. Scallops: appear enjoyable. Crab cake over mushy peas: utilitarian. Thai curry with rice: decent. Faux pas: the server emptied the remainder of the bottle contents into our wine glasses, resulting in tannins (old bottle, the server should know better especially working at this kind of restaurantEnvironment: good, potential conversation starters.
Lovely experience here for brunch! The meals we had were delicious. Service here was a little less than good, with the server forgetting our coffee and mixed drink, and I had to ask them for them, as well as wave them down for the check. But overall would come back again .
Always a pleasure to eat here, lovely decor, food and friendly staff. Not as good as the Oxford one, but that is the best Ivy for sure.
As expected great food! The service wasn’t what we expected for a restaurant of this calibre. The attentiveness of staff was in inconsistent, we shouldn’t have to ask twice a drink we ordered and then to be asked what it was. We sat to one side and the surroundings were average, again not what you expect. We have been to other Ivy’s and lacked the attention to detail and care sadly. The plus point was that it has a separate vegetarian menu which is always an attraction.
A quite disappointing dining experience. The food was either bland or too salty. Ingredients used were fresh but it didn’t help the taste much. Took them 20+ minutes to bring over an orange juice, in a glass with chipped edge.If anything, the starters were quite nice. But it’s not enough of a reason for me to come back again.
Great location, welcoming venue, Good food, unique decor. Service was very good as always.
Great atmosphere and the decor is lovely. Food are delicious. The staffs are friendly and helpful. We were there for brunch and had a great time. Price points are affordable.Weekend lunch & dinner, must have reservation.
I went there for breakfast. Tasty and fresh food. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Great vibe and location as well.
This brasserie is very beautifully decorated and clean. It is not far located near High Street Kensington underground station. The staff was nice too. The breakfast was amazing too: we had breakfast pastries, jam, two hens eggs and fried eggs with salmon. The Cappuccino tasted well too.
Always good to come here for excellent food. You know what to expect and what you will pay. Standard, service and cleanliness is as good here as their other branches. Very good.
Unfortunately a very poor experience. We had a reservation for dinner and since we were in the area we stopped in some time before just to see if they had an opening. They didn’t, no problem at all we kept waking around. What was not appreciated was the host’s snooty tone apparently in response to us wanting to be seated earlier. Not a demand, just curious. She said “your table will be ready at exactly 8:15 and not earlier.” Well, we arrive EXACTLY at 8:15 and what do you know, the table isn’t ready. I understand things don’t go to plan, but don’t be rude and make comments like that when you aren’t holding up your end of the bargain. We are seated and not attended for quite a while, then a woman comes up and says “can you order now?” No introductions, hellos, or any sense of politeness. Fine, whatever. We had some dietary restrictions and experienced some attitude about that as well. Appetizers come, bread was very good, olives were okay but a laughingly small portion. Entrees: the ribeye was decent, not cooked very well as the fat was still attached in chunks and not melted through. Sirloin was awful, it was cheap steakhouse level and it was ordered medium well (due to health concernsbut came as a solid grey hockey puck. Disgusting. No pink or moisture to be found at all. The Korean chicken was great, no complaints. The lemon sole was just nasty. The fish itself had no seasoning but the strong flavor of old fish. The lemon mayonnaise it came with had no lemon flavor and again tasted fishy and musty. The broccoli and chips were good. Overall for the supposed prestige of the restaurant, the food was low quality and the service absolutely appalling. Not once did our server check on our food, top up water, or provide a single friendly word. Completely passable and a laughable establishment.
Chicken Milanese is Amazing! Truffle fries and the Sheppard Pie. Sticky Pudding to finish
After being greeted at the door by a very friendly group of people that included a doorman dressed as a Queen’s Own Guard, we were seated on time. The decor is upscale 1890’s without the overabundance. Tables are white tablecloth and nicely set. Our waiter, Isidorus, appeared immediately and was consistently at our service the moment anything was needed. Drink suggestions were excellent. To eat, I had scallops followed by a Shepards Pie that I was assured was Unique. It was and it was delicious. My wife ordered an equally delicious duck liver parfait followed by an interesting Chicken and Couscous on Greens dish. The chicken breast meat was a little dry, but the rest was very good. Isidorus made sure we had everything we needed and the chef did a fine job. Overall, a 4.5 experience and one of the best during our thee week stay in England.
The location and environment are good. The food was okay but service was AWFUL. The waiter served us the wrong dishes, made us waiting and NO APOLOGIES at all. No one asked if you need any service if everything okay even after they made huge mistakes. When they saw we drank our own water (as they didn’t servethey just took away our glasses?! Definitely not recommended!
Food was amazing absolutely nothing wrong! rare that I completely finish my food and here I happily did! Cream brûlée as a desert was delicious as well!
The food was standard for The Ivy, exactly wha you would expect to get.The three star rating really is for the service. We sat down and waited 25 minutes before I went to go and get someone to take our order. The staff I spoke to were rather rude and didn’t seemed bothered with us. In addition, one of our party went looking for the toilet and staff were dismissive and gave her no help. It’s put us off for the while, hopefully the other locations are better.
Beautiful setting and delicious food. 2 of us dining and we opted for a chicken salad and steak baguette. The chicken beautifully tender and tasty and the steak had a rich flavour and still melted in the mouth. Food served quickly despite it being busy. My only slight grip was that the tables around us were slightly more attended to than we were, we never received the water for the table we ordered and the second round of drinks arrived after the meal was finished, though ordered when the food arrived and we ate slowly. And the toilets were a bit mediocre at best, if not a little tired and in need of a tidy.
Visited for a early evening meal before visiting the Royal Albert Hall.Food was tasty and very fresh.Wine was also nice.Would recommend.
Service/hospitality: ☆☆☆The waiter could be more attentive and more friendly.Environment: ☆☆☆☆☆Excellent interior design that reflects old English style. Lots of wooden surface with numerous Hyde Park old drawing. I really enjoy the design. However, our table was a little small in considering the number of people we have, which diminish the quality of the dining experience.Food: ☆☆☆The English breakfast was alright. It tasted good but not outstanding. Their in-house tea was so-so.It requires reservation weeks earlier. You may try your luck to reserve later or walk in but the last time we walked in, we were told there werent any available table.
We had the Eggs Benedict and the hot pancakes. The Eggs were a little dry, I would‘ve loved more Hollandaise and I missed some spice. The pancakes could’ve been hotter and also more flavorful. All in all a little pricy as well. But very lovely interior!
Food was great as usual, service was quick, overall a great restaurant to go to.
We were passing by and decided to come in for a dinner. Had no reservation, place was busy but we still managed to get a seat by the bar and enjoy our dinner.Lovely atmosphere, interesting decor, food is nice.
Received a warm greeting on arrival with the option to use the cloak room at reception, the food was lovely and beautifully garnished, the Korean Chicken was tasty including the parmesan sauce, a fine addition, will dine here again 👌🏾
Food came fast and was nice. Service was good. Had zucchini (very nice startercurry duck (coconut tasteand apple pie.
We had a great meal at the Ivy in Kensington before a show at the Royal Albert Hall. The decor and atmosphere was incredible. The staff were friendly and the food/drinks were served quickly to a high standard. Highly recommended.
Came for the Valentine’s Day. Ordered my fav lobster linguine, yummy as usual! The dessert for the valentines was delicious and pretty! Minus 2 points as the service wasn’t so great and the waiter forgot to bring me a menu of drinks despite asking for it…
SO SOooo delishious 🤤🤤 Im definitely coming back to eat again their the chocolate bomb. Amazing, seriously its like a dream come true! Also the staff are extremely polite and kind! It was a pleasure to spend the evening there! Highly recommend the place!!!
Food, drinks, and decor = 5 starsService could have been much better. Takes forever to flag down server and server disappeared for 20 minutes near end of our meal.
Never disappoints. Good service, good food, not too overpriced. The zucchini fritters are out of this world. Fish and chips is excellent and not so pricey. Chicken Milanese and burger are good. Shepherds pie ok.
1. Really nice decor, enjoyed a lot the vibe of the restaurant!2. Portions are decent size3. Food is tasty, but not exceptionalOverall I enjoyed the atmosphere and the food :Worth visiting if you are in the area!
One of the finest dining experiences I have had... great atmosphere, exemplary service and delicious food. The menu had good choice, the table was beautifully laid, and the lighting was just right. We pre-booked as a party of 6 and were seated on a table with leather benches. This was comfortable but obviously awkward to get out of if you needed a comfort break. However, the food was the star of the show - Pumpkin and Butternut Squash Soup with Pine Nuts, Smoked Salmon and Haddock Fish Cake with Poached Ducks Egg, Snowball Fight Brandy Ice Cream. Our waiter Gregory excelled himself. This place is thoroughly recommended for a special occasion.
Friendly service, nicely presented food but most dishes were bland.Ribeye at £30+ was not worth it, was dry and some parts chewy. Thats it having been cooked to medium.Lobster linguine was nice, but for £30+youd expect more lobster in there.Fish and chips very nice large portion at a standard price point. Vinegar that accompanied it was very light in flavour too🤷♀️Ravioli with fillet was okay.Truffle chips, dry dont bother with them.Arancini okay, steak tartar okay.Duck liver parfait and scallops nice. Also maybe suggest some sea salt at the table, instead of table salt? 🥲Overall, nice ambience and customer service was good.Food very much lacking in flavour and probably would not come back.
Perennial favourite of modern day British food on High Street Kensington. Food is nicely presented and of decent quality - though I do wonder if portion sizes are being surreptitiously shrunk (the whole turbot served was smaller than my hand!). Service is adequate to good.
Fantastic food, wonderful customer service, great champagne and an all round wonderful experience that didnt break the bank - whod have thought it?
Great restaurant and location without mile-high prices. I was really impressed with what you get and the general setting and décor. This restaurant is quite busy and there is a real lunch rush but the service is still quick and the food excellent though it can get quite noisy.Generous drinks and top-class food with an interesting a varied menu.Pick your dishes carefully and try to balance as everything here is quite rich and it will not take much to get the balance wrong.I was a little disappointed with the sticky toffee pudding as it was luke warm and the clotted cream was not quite right but the overall experience here was great.
The Ivy Kensington I can thoroughly recommend - the staff were friendly and knowledgeable very attentive - the cocktails were excellent as was the food - the ambiance is faultless you really feel special - we had a wonderful time its a shame we couldnt have stayed longer -
We had a selection of starters to share which were excellent! Including steak tartar, truffle arancini, parfait, burrata, tempura prawns, salt and pepper squid.Meal was let down by the fish pie mains. The scallop which topped the meal was gritty, the sauce was too runny and the artichokes inside hasnt been trimmed leaving them so woody I choked
I went by myself during lunch time. They sat me by the bar, so it was fun watching the bartenders making all of their beautiful and elaborated cocktails!Service was on point, food was very delicious and well presented. It was my birthday week so they even brought me a little dessert with a candle.Just a lovely time.
My oh my. Food was delicious, staff friendly and decor gave this venue an up-market vibe to it. It wasnt as expensive as I thought it may have been. Overall a great experience!
