Airy, art-filled restaurant offering an all-day dining menu plus champagne & bespoke cocktails.
This is not an "every day" experience. This was an amazing experience. We were a party of 8 and everything was exceptional (2 locals and 6 in from the states visiting).Every since person was absolutely impressed at the service, experience, food, and drinks (tea, spirits, coffee, and more). If you visit Brighton and you want an amazing British Tea experience, this is it.
The Ivy is wonderful, the decor is just gorgeous and I loved how all the staff were smartly dressed and well attentive. Our server was Carmen G she was wonderful and well attentive. We had some wonderful cocktails and just the most amazing food, it was absolutely fantastic and were treated to a delicious desert wishing us a happy anniversary, that was just the sweetest touch. Id definitely eat here again when we next visit Brighton.
This place never disappoints.Amazing service for gluten free, dairy free and soya free. Very attentive and diligent in checking ingredients.Food was absolutely delicious.I was a little taken back when I used the loo, I initially thought someone was wearing fancy dress, but I realised it was a statue 🤣🤣
Good quality food & service but way overpriced for what is effectively a chain restaurant particularly considering the high level independent competition in Brighton.
We attended for an afternoon tea, we upgraded and added a glass of champagne each. The service was impeccable our host was very knowledgeable regarding the menu and available options. The food was perfect and very filling, we even came home with a couple of scones!! Very good experience, we also had our 4 month old son with us and the venue was baby friendly.
Having previously been here with a friend before, I was excited to take my partner this evening.Having told him such good things, he (and Iboth came with high expectations. I remember the food being delicious, service amazing and generous portion sizes.. which for a fancy restaurant, you don’t usually get!The starters were incredibly small and quite disappointing. Nothing special and you would definitely expect more for the price:The mains again, very small, not much flavour and just generally a little flat. I ordered the lobster linguine which probably had about 5 little pieces of lobster in the smallest bowl of spaghetti. It cost £31 and I can honestly say I’ve had a better version for half the price, double the size in a chain Italian restaurant or pub. It’s a weird feeling to leave a restaurant still hungry, yet having spent £180! Yes we had a couple of drinks each, but we needed to do something to add some flavour! The salt and pepper shaker didn’t even work which may sound petty, but for the prices they charge I feel something that simple should be a given. There was irritating dance music on in the background which just didn’t go with the vibe and decor.. it was a Thursday evening but super busy and just didn’t feel like as much care was taken to make the experience something to remember. If I could ask for my money back I would, I’m so disappointed to write this but it’s the truth! Won’t be back ☹️
Went for our anniversary, outstanding service and food. The decor and ambience is fantastic, a memorable experience.
Absolutely delicious food in a stunning setting. The wait staff were incredibly attentive. The restaurant was incredibly hot though, even with the windows open, hence the 4 stars.Id definitely recommend the monkfish and prawn curry and the chocolate bombé!
Booked here on a whim looking for a good Friday meal. And of course it being the Ivy you can always expect good food. But the service from an Italian fella was fantastic. Recommendations, guidance and always on point. The service is as amazing as the food, and considering the food is exceptional, thats saying something. There were blankets on offer for outside seating too which took me back to many trips abroad. So thank you!
Went here a couple of times, one for dinner and the other for brunch. The menu is nothing special and the food is OK. The decor is nice, the staff are attentive and the place as a nice atmosphere. Is it worth the cost of it? Not to me.
Beautiful venue both inside and out. Immaculately clean and welcoming staff, I had the minute steak which was super tasty and a decent sized portion. Would love to return!
Amazing food in a stunning setting.Really not cheap though, make sure you know its going to be a big bill before you go in!
Had a wonderful afternoon tea last week with a friend. We booked 3 weeks in advance as its very popular. The day before the Ivy called to check we were taking afternoon tea and any dietary requirement. We had a warm welcome and wad taken to our seat, decor stunning, service excellent and food yummie. Had 2 rounds of sandwiches, was well looked after. Not rushed. Toilets are quirky and worth a visit. Lovely afternoon tea, highly recommend.
Only popped in for an afternoon sweet treat. Stunning decoration and the staff were amazing. Will definitely be returning for dinner on the next visit to Brighton.
Came for a cocktail yesterday and had toast and preserves too. Friend is gluten free and said the toast was the tastiest she has had. Both cocktails were very tasty strong and well made. Superb time had by both thank u
We enjoyed our lunch at the Ivy In The Lanes. The staff were nice. We chose chicken breast, lamb, and chips.
Beautiful restaurant, amazing waiters and service. We arrived on time yet had to wait 30 mins for our table. We were a little disappointed at first but they quickly made us forget all about it with free Prosecco, arancini, courgette fries and profiterole dessert. The service was incredible and we had an amazing night.
Very nice. 2nd time here. If you have OCD however, maybe not the best or ignore the wallpaper as there are missing branches and leaves cut short. Also the luminaries arent parrallel to the wall. However are spotless so hats off to their cleaner.I had Steak, the options for cooking were Pink or Brown. Not the usual Rare, Medium, Well Done. Mine came out Brown which is disappointing when I ask for rare (so pink). It was still nice.Strangle the same option for the Salmon. Not sure what a brown Salmon would be like. Probably not Salmon if its brown.Overall still recommend.
This place is something special. Even the toilets are special and worth a visit, as they are beautifully decorated. The menu has something for everyone and where not the cheapest the fish and chips cost the same as you will pay on the pier and Im pretty sure would taste a damn site better. I had the steak and would thoroughly recommend to any steak lover.
Come here for my sons birthday. What can I say 1st time Ive been here and will be back. Food amazing staff brilliant lovely atmosphere
The service at this place is first class. Well done to a wonderfully run restaurant! You are going a great job. Keep it up! The food and ambience is also delightful. We enjoyed a lovely evening here.
I have been in IVY few time already and every time the food is delicious👌cocktails are very good to.And as you probably know you have to have 10 minutes brake in Toilet for glam pictures 📸Thank you IVY.
Had a fantastic meal here with my husband, the service was superb and the cocktails were devine
Staff were all welcoming and amazing. service was spot on. food came hot I had the vegetarian full breakfast, it was absolutely delicious. If you dont like the food options go for the atmosphere they have quite a selection of drinks as well. definitely one of my favourite places to eat in Brighton.
My husband and I Came here today for a Cream Tea to celebrate our 47th anniversary next week. It was really lovely. Decor was great and ladies loos fab!!!!! 😍
Great restaurant with amazing service. High quality dishes and a great atmosphere. Really recommended
Great atmosphere and ambience, very parisiene in feeling and a nice buzz. Food was amazing, cheese soufflé to start, lamb curry for main, both stunningly presented and tasted off the scale good. Only real gripe, I thought the menu slightly lacking I choice for mains, but that doesnt distract from the quality and was mostly me not knowing what to expect. Would highly recommend to anyone.
It was a lovely mid morning and we were thinking of sitting outside but it was a bit windy. So we sat inside which was wonderful as all the lovely and classic decor to enjoy. The food was perfect too and service was on point. We all had a great experience. Definitely recommended.
A Mothers day present from my son and we had a lovely, special time. What a treat. Omg! The decor is amazing. Its like walking into a luxurious London 1920s restaurant. Almost expected people to break into a spontaneous Charleston ☺️Lots of greenery, gold heavy teapots, embossed napkins etc. On arrival your coat is taken and youre accompanied to your table. The service is fantastic and the staff are so professional, helpful, courteous and friendly. Nothing is to much trouble. We had afternoon tea which was gorgeous. Definately not an everyday experience but at the price it could be weekly! The afternoon tea was £8.95.Definately going back with a friend for a catch up in luxurious surroundings. Couldnt believe I got my stamps there when it was a post office 😂.
Really nice restaurant in the lanes. Food is excellent and service is very good and attentive. Menu choice is good and covers a wide range of dishes for all. Only slight disappointment was the welcome on arrival. As it was busy, people had to wait squeezed up in the entrance lobby until table ready. Would have been nice to be guided to bar to wait. Other than this a great experience.
Just had a lovely meal here for my daughters birthday. The waitresses were lovely which is more than I can say about the waiter who delivered our dessert. He knocked my daughters drink flying, the table cloth was soaked along with my phone, glasses and coat which were on the seat. He said he would replace her drink and give me a complimentary drink for soiling my coat, which was very wet. We waited a while and no drinks arrived so we asked the waitress where our drinks were. She eventually came over with just a drink for my daughter, I said that I was offered a drink too because of the inconvenience and the fact my coat was smelling of prosecco by now... they were all unsure what to do...the said waiter came over to me and I said Id like the drink you promised please...he was not obliging at all, I was almost travelling...he said wait Ill have to speak with my manager. I was offered a drink that I wasnt even drinking, so I said no thank you, Id like a drink that Id already had 2 of, it seemed a big task to ask which I felt was a small price to pay considering I couldve given in the dry cleaners bill of my coat, but I wouldnt do that. All I asked for was a bit of attentiveness. Such a shame it ended the way it did as everyone was lovely apart from this guy.I spent £112 in there, Im sure 1 complimentary drink wouldnt break the bank. Its the small things that matter in life, being attentive is top of my list.In saying all that, the lamb rump was yummy, compliments to the chef.
We had a wonderful time here, went for breakfast. On arriving, we were greeted warmly. The inside decorations and vibe were amazing. The food was tasty, I really enjoyed the pastries in particular which were fresh. All in all a great experience.
so excited to go there. When we arrived was greeted warmly and it wads noted that it was my husbands birthday. We were then and taken to our table, our waiter was wonderful full of life asked questions was extremely engaging and a joy to be with. Then he left to go on break and it all went down hill from there. Waited ages for someone to come round and take our afternoon tea order and then brought out the champagne as we where having afternoon tea with champagne. we then waited ages for the afternoon tea sandwiches which looked lovely but where a bit stale.Seems like they where made and left so the bread on one side was hard. Told the waitress but she didnt say anything and we didnt see her again. Waited for a while and we had hoped our drinks tea would come out with our sandwiches but after asking and finishing off our afternoon tea sandwiches and cakes then the tea come out. All a bit confusing as i like my cake and tea together. Not sure why this time i was disappointed usually i do have good experiences at the ivy.
Wonderful restaurant.Food - they have got really a good variety of food, and they taste amazing. The presentation of the food was pretty good.Drinks - amazing collection of wine, cocktails, et al.Service - Very nice, great reception.Ambience - a big 👍🏻
Fabulous food (breakfast in our caseand excellent service in attractive surroundings.Well worth the price premium.
The place is marvelous inside! Food is not cheap but very good.I would like to recommend the sourdough bread with butter and the baked sweet potatoes.Special thanks to Carlo - our waiter! Very kind since the beginning till the end.
If fancy of posh dining experience, seeking vibrant place and top notch services in Brighton - then this is your place! We turned up ad-hoc w/o having reservation but local team managed way to get us seated. Good wine selection, proper French style of cooking and especially very professional staff behind the bar.
Very clean and decor amazing. The restaurant was quite congested and felt cramped not much spacing between tables.Afternoon Tea for 2( gift for friend).Lovely but was surprised to see the crust left on 1 of the slices of bread...
Elegant, classy location with superb food. Wonderful place for breakfast - their take is uncomplicated excellence! Highly recommended.
A grand and vibrant setting, buzzy atmosphere and excellent hospitality service. The menu is good and reasonably priced. We had a lovely time dining here and would definitely return.
Had. Lovely time. celebrating our friends birthday with fabulous afternoon tea and cocktails. Great busy bustling ambiance, music is a little heavy on the bass and a tad too loud. Cocktails were excellent food, was good. The decor is quirky and bold, the ladies toilet is definitely worth a visit 🤣
Needless to say that the decor is well thought and pleasant, overall a good dining experience, far to be excellent though; The music was too loud and not in line with decor (i.e. would have expected a more chilled music rather than club style DJwhere we were accommodated was cold and drafted, service was good but not felt entirely welcomed as order was handled by 5 different waiters over the evening. All the dishes arrived at a reasonable time, well presented, I felt that it was more of a bistro quality than fine dining experience (veggie undercooked, pasta overcooked, not consistency overalland lacked of that flavoursome kick some of the dishes.Price wise is not terrible, it is worth the money the experience but definitely not in the realm of ‘fine dining’
I love visiting The Ivy for lunch. Its a stylish venue - the decor is great and the ambiance lovely. The food is very good quality and reasonably priced. The service has always been very friendly, helpful, and attentive. Its a really popular restaurant in Brighton, especially during the summer months, so book well in advance. Highly recommended.
Lovely restaurant with attentive and friendly staff! Really tasty fish and chips with massive portion. 🤗Ivy made mine and my partners anniversary very special. They gave us a choice of a couple of tables and both were great options. The food came fast and was hot (in a good way). The drinks were delicious. We even got a small dessert surprise for our anniversary. Thank you Ivy!!
The Ivy never disappoint, amazing service, amazing food and amazing decor. A truly beautiful location in the lanes of Brighton, the interior & ambiance was perfect. We had brunch, which was well presented, tasty and good quality produce. Staff were accommodating & interactive which made us feel at ease. It was our anniversary, as a surprise touch the pastry chef made a sweet treat for us which was truly the highlight of our time at The Ivy, just perfect.
Loved The Ivy in the Lanes. Great welcome. Excellent service. Food was so good. I had eggs benedict and my husband had the duck curry. Both were delicious. Dessert was even better the flambé apple tart was delicious. And the fig and pistachio cake with yoghurt sorbet and cream was the beat Dessert Ive had for a long time. The staff were really attentive and the restaurant is very beautiful.and well looked after. Highly recommended.
The breakfast was great... and it really wasnt that expensive at all. Ive spent more are places that left me disappointed. I wish I had a chance to try diner here, but was short on time in Brighton. The decor is amazing. The art, table settings and center bar are all well put together.I would recommend this place if you asked me if you should eat there.
One of the best breakfasts Ive ever had, both food and service was faultless! I even got a birthday profiterole to top it off. Would highly recommend having a long breakfast here both to sample there impressive range of teas and coffees, as well as the stunning interior design. Was a real delight to eat here.
Fantastic meal at the Ivy in Brighton today. Our first visit there courtesy of our daughter and son in law. Wonderful food and lovely staff. The decor is amazing n it has the best decorate toilets I have ever been in with an incredible ornate ceiling. Such a lovely setting for a special meal out. Thank you
Wow... How stunning this place is. My wife had told me that she wished to have food and drinks here. We were lucky to be fitted in last minute for the 2 of us.We were politely greeted and welcomed to our table, where a feast began. Amongst many glasses of Diplomatico Rum and Candyfloss cocktail s for the better half.Beautiful decor, fantastic ambiance and very person centred staff. Delicious food and cant wait to go back!! Thank you.
