The Ivy Cafe Richmond in Bafoulabe

We had a super meal here from the A La Carte menu. The quality of food was excellent. Great for gluten free, even the deserts. Lovely decor and ambience. The customer service was exceptional, thank you to Neil and Andrea. We had such a great conversation and felt they had time for us. My brother-in-law is a Chef visiting from New Zealand. He was impressed, compliments to the Chef. We will be back for sure. A delightful afternoon.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is amazing, the food is delicious, and they are affordable prices. The service was very delightful, they recommended us the dishes. A great place, I had a lovely time there with my family, definitely a place worth visiting.

Lovely ambiance, spacious and inviting…the restaurant was packed but conversations were audible. The food is fairly good for a chain, I recommend the haddock fish cakes.

Not as good as it use to be service was awful. Menu is the same as always. Had to keep asking for refill on our wine, starters all came at different times so starters went cold. Mains came and appeared to have sat under a hotplate force while as food was very dry. Shame the French waiter wasnt there hecalways gives great service. Really disappointing 😞 also the washrooms were filthy with the bins overflowing with waste. Not great which is a shame as generally is quite good.

Food is great, its one of the best restaurants in London.Staff is very kind and friendly.Great environment and restrooms are very clean.The only cons is, it gets booked very quickly and very difficult to find slots for dinner at weekends

The Truffle Arancini starter was delicious. I wish I taken a photo of them. The steak was nice, I asked for medium rare and it was just about right, if a little chewy. The service from the staff is first class.

Simply one of the best breakfast I ever had. 👌

Unfortunately had a really bad experience on Sunday bank holiday. Although the waiter we had was lovely, we had a few issues. There was a wasp which I am terrified of and the main waitress lady refused to say it was there and just left us to deal with it. I had to open the window myself and get it out. It felt like I was doing their job for them as they were unable to help me or move our table because she didn’t want to deal with it. Secondly, my chicken was actually raw (I wish I took a picture), it was so bright red inside and I told the same lady about this, she refused to admit it was pink and offered to change the dish. The next chicken came was still pink inside however not as red raw as the first. I felt forced to eat this as I didn’t want to be rude, however I did not enjoy this at all considering I had just found raw chicken it made me sick to my stomach. I used to think this was a luxury restaurant for a special treat, however it strikes me more of a chain restaurant - McDonald’s is better, at least they cook the meat! I won’t be coming again as I am now sick to the stomach of the thought of the ivy… because of the raw chicken I was served! We are struggling for money and this was our treat for the month, however we enjoy a meal deal from tescos more than this! Terrible service, terrible food. I feel as we wasn’t “posh” we wasn’t treated as well as other customers.

We came here for our anniversary dinner. The welcome and decor were very nice, but we were squeezed onto a small table very close to other tables near the bar area and the service was very abrupt, not very warm at all. I felt like we were being rushed. The food was nice, the scallop starter being my favourite. The wine list was okay, a long list of wines but quite expensive on the whole, we had the Chablis which was nice.We left and moved onto a cocktail bar to enjoy the rest of the evening.

The staff were attentive and accommodating as we were unfortunately late for our booking. The food was fantastic as usual and the cocktails were delicious! The value for money was great, too.

Called in here yesterday for lunch. We decided on the set menu which can be risky in some places but the steak followed by yoghurt sorbet (which we both selectedwere excellent and great value for money. Service was prompt efficient and friendly - especially Roman. Lovely surroundings as you would expect at an Ivy. All in all a really good experience and we will certainly return.

I was disappointed y the Ivy Cafe. Although the room and facilities are fabulous the food was disappointing. The crispy duck starter was tasty enough but nothing special. Then I had the minute steak with pepper sauce which was like a piece of old leather and I only managed to eat about a third of it before I gave up. The chips were nice enough, hot and crispy but they should be able to get that right. The service was good and the staff were attentive and polite. In principal the food is good value as main courses average around £16, but even at that price point you expect it to be edible. I have heard that they get many of their dishes pre prepared in China and they are just reheated on site. Not sure how true this is but it is a little concerning if it is true. It would be incredibly un eco and damaging to the environment if it is true. Might be worth some investigation!

We had a lovely time here for a family birthday meal. The food was delicious and the staff were very attentive and polite. Every course I had was full of flavour, but my favourite was the scallops with pea puree. We will for sure be eating here again in the future!

We went for the afternoon tea at the Ivy Cafe and we booked beforehand. What made our experience very memorable was the attentive and accommodating staff who went above and beyond from recommendations to preparing a birthday surprise for my little sister. It was one of the best examples of great customer service that we have seen during this trip to the UK. We will surely recommend it and visit again.

Such a great experience. Amazing from start to finish. We were a party of 7 people, arrived earlier than our reservation time and nothing throughout our evening seemed to be too difficult or too much trouble for anyone. Service was 10/10, Food 10/10, decor 10/10. Cant wait to make this our new regular favourite. More than a restaurant, its an experience!

First time in a Ivy Cafe and definitely a place to return.Great atmosphere and good service. The food was also really nice. I particularly enjoyed the courgette fritters as a starter and the monkfish and prawns curry - two dishes I recommend.

Food was very bland and they served a profiterole which tasted like it had been sitting in the fridge for 3 days, it definitely wasn’t fresh. The drinks were nice. Decor was gorgeous but service was not great as they had 3 people working a very full section. Nowhere near on a par with the other Ivy restaurants. Very disappointed as my friend took me there for my birthday

Absolutely gorgeous atmosphere! Our waitress was so accommodating & fun to chat to (I dont remember her name but she was 19 & brunette). The food was presented beautifully & tasted beautiful too. Highly recommended!

Visited the Ivy today for the first time at Richmond with my mum and sister for breakfast. It was a special occasion and Karl who served us was amazing, welcoming and has great attention to detail. He made the visit extra special for us.We had an amazing time, all staff smiling and making the experience one to remember.Highly recommended and ask for Karl to serve you or sit by the window, that might be his section:-)

I had a very bad experience at the restaurant. My son orders a steak. I asked for a sauce with out any alcohol. They told me both mushroom and pepper sauce contain alcohol.Who would give alcohol to their child !??? I asked for help to fry some mushrooms with a Milk make a sauce for me. Alcohol free. They didn’t accept. This place just has a name. Customer service is zero.The hamburger was over cooked.It’s very disappointing such a nice place. Big name. Costomer service is so bad.I think it’s over price.

Went for late lunch early dinner for a family meal. So mant G&Ts to choose from and the one we had was so good with excellent presentation. Staff and food very good. We shared a desert which was delicious. Would definitely return and recommend to friends.

The decor, atmosphere, cleanliness - perfect. Food was excellent! I had the vegetarian breakfast and mixed berry smoothie, and it was delicious. Definitely worth a return visit.

Fabulous! Aesthetically gorgeous, Food and Drink delicious..attentive service..

A shocking visit to this restaurant. We visited on a very busy Saturday night, probably too busy for the Ivy as they struggled with service.We arrived on time for our 8pm appointment for 7 people but were told our table wasnt ready, could we wait at the bar. No offer of a drink we had to pay for them ourselves. When we finally were seated we ordered some drinks. Our food order was then taken once our first drinks arrived.1 hour later we had our starters. I feel the restaurant was too busy and the kitchen was struggling with the volume of food. Another hour later our main course arrived. Even though our food tasted good it was not hot. Again I reckon it had been standing under a heat lamp for too long. My wifes poached egg was hard and also cold and she ended up just eating her chips, which were at least hot!. At this stage the rest of us were all so hungry we just ate our food.Considering our starters had taken so long you would have thought someone, ie the manager would have made sure at least our main course was perfect but no the quality control was really bad.We paid for our drinks but not the food and left. My first and last experience of the Ivy was not a good one!!

Delightful restaurant with a great smart-causal vibe. The ambiance and presentation of the restaurant itself was lovely. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable and the menu was varied. Had the aromatic duck curry and it was delicious. Also great selection of G&Ts. Would definitely visit again.

The food is good but not great. Our starters were the best part of the meal aside from the outstanding service.The allure of this place is its service and its decor. The decor left me staring at every little corner of the room. The service made me want to purchase more and stuff even more into my very full belly.It’s a fantastic spot to see excellent service at work. Get yourself a bit better of a chef and this place will be Michelin star rated.

I had poached eggs, avocado with hollandaise sauce for lunch as they dont do brunch on weekdays. It tasted ok, Ive had better. Go here for the ambience and atmosphere but nothing else. Staff is quite uppity.

Outstanding birthday lunch in the Isabella room. The bright, festive space really enhanced the celebration. Staff were friendly and meticulous in their service. They helped make a special day truly memorable. Menu was excellent and satisfied all 22 of us - young and old!

I love this place! My husband took me for my Birthday breakfast 🥐 we enjoyed the whole atmosphere. The stuff is really nice, food and the place it self is stunning! I highly recommend this place. We will be definitely back ❤️ Thank you! @silviadeegon

Really great service, not sure the food is anything to write home about perhaps it was the choice of dishes? Prawn cocktail was ok, the scallops were beautifully cooked but the Parmesan foam didn’t taste of anything… Veal dish was good and well cooked, but the lobster linguini with chilli had little chilli in it. The sticky toffee pudding was great but the apple tart had so much Calvados it tasted of raw alcohol. I’m not sure I’ll be going back to eat here any time soon

Visited on 21st December. Really loved the interiors of this place, very pretty. Lots of greens and gold and it had an oriental style vibe to it. I had the rib eye on the bone which was flavoursome and I would recommend it. The service was good considering how busy it was in the run up to Christmas. I would come back.

I always enjoy eating here. The service is excellent, very attentive without being intrusive and you dont feel rushed or pressurised. The food is excellent too and very consistent. The decor is beautiful and very stylish and colourful. The upstairs Isabella room is very nice and perfect for a private function. I highly recommend this place.

Had a lovley afternoon tea here which was alice in wonderland themed ,and omg it was amazing, 1st afternoon tea me and my friend has had where we actually had to take away some dessert because we was so stuffed (in a good way obviously, you get a little smoothie with it to which is like the magic drink unfortunately I didnt end up small and in a magical land haha xxChristmas decorations were up and got some good photos xxFriendly staff and great atmosphere x

We enjoyed this meal from start to finish. The service was outstanding - friendly, welcoming and professional. The restaurant is beautiful inside with a relaxed but vibrant atmosphere. The food was equally brilliant. Following some nibbles (the truffle arancini were particularly goodmy wife had the cheese soufflé and I had the duck liver parfait, which had an interesting presentation. Both were great starters but the main of lobster linguine we both had was outstanding, arriving with a generous helping of lobster meat. It was a dish to remember. My wife had the chocolate bombe whilst I had the apple tart with calvados flambé. Both dishes had some theatre provided by the excellent waiting staff. I highly recommend treating yourself to what is an unforgettable experience.

Busy, making the most of covid restrictions being eased, very little mask wearing of both patrons and staff. Told we had 1h45m for out table but left us there for closer to 2h30m. Service excellent - friendly, chatty, efficient. Food generally good but a bit disappointed by the lobster linguine. Heavy on the tomato, chilli was almost absent and required quite a lot of the chilli oil and flakes they serve on the side. Not much lobster either. Id say this is typical of the Ivys that have sprung up.

Good food and cocktails. The restaurant itself is nicer than the food served, which is good but nothing memorable or outstanding. I was hoping to try their cheese sufflé, but its only available in their dinner menu.

This restaurant is very popular. Very nice decor. Great menu with lots of choices. The food was very nice but definitely on the colder side than hot. The service was good.

Recommend for casual or more celebratory occasions, they have a very good menu and it’s not expensive! We have been many times and come back again! I guess, and they gave me 2 cakes for my BD, how sweet!
